COLOSSIANS:  CHAPTER 1

COLOSSIANS:  CHAPTER 1

Paul, an apostle of YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach by the will of Elohim, and Timothy our brother,
2 to the saints and faithful brethren in Messiah who are at Colosse,
Grace to you and peace from El our Father and the Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach.
3 We give thanks to El, the Father of our Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach, praying always for you,
4 since we heard of your faith in Messiah YEHOSHUA, and the love that you have for all the saints;
5 for the hope that is laid up for you in heaven, of which you heard before in the word of truth, the gospel,
6 which has come to you, just as in all the world.  And it brings forth fruit, even as in you also, since the day you heard and knew the grace of Elohim in truth;
7 as you also learned from Epaphras, our beloved fellow servant, who is for you a faithful minister of Messiah;
8 who also declared unto us your love in The Spirit.
9 For this reason also, since the day we heard, we have not ceased to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding,
10 so that you might walk worthy of the Master; pleasing in all respects; being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of Elohim;
11 strengthened with all power, according to His glorious might, unto all endurance and patience; with joyfulness
12 giving thanks to the Father, Who has enabled us to share in the inheritance of the saints in light.
13 For He delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His beloved Son,
14 in Whom we have deliverance through His blood; even the forgiveness of sins;
15 Who is the image of the invisible Elohim; the firstborn of all creation.
16 For by Him were all things created, in the heavenly, and on earth; visible and invisible; whether thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers.  All things have been created by Him, and for Him.
17 And He is before all things, and in Him all things consist.
18 And He is the head of the body, the church; and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead, so that He will come to have preeminence in all things.
19 For it pleased the Father that in Him all fullness should dwell;
20 and having made peace through the blood of His cross, by Him to reconcile all things unto Himself; by Him, whether things on earth, or things in heaven.
21 And you, who were formerly alienated and enemies in your mind through evil deeds, yet now He has reconciled
22 in the body of His flesh through death, in order to present you holy and blameless and irreproachable in His sight;
23 if you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard, which was preached in all creation under heaven, and of which I, Paul, am made a minister.
24 Now I rejoice in my sufferings on your behalf, and fill up that which is lacking of the afflictions of Messiah in my flesh for His body’s sake, which is the church.
25 For this I was made a minister, according to the dispensation from Elohim, which was given to me for you, to fulfill the word of Elohim,
26 the mystery that has been hidden from ages and generations, but now is made manifest to His saints;
27 to whom Elohim willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Messiah in you, the hope of glory;
28 Whom we proclaim, admonishing everyone, and teaching everyone with all wisdom, so that we may present everyone perfect in Messiah.
29 For unto this I also labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me.

COLOSSIANS:  CHAPTER 2

COLOSSIANS:  CHAPTER 2

For I want you to know how great a conflict exists on your behalf, and for those who are at Laodicea, and for all those who have not seen my face in the flesh,
2 that their hearts might be comforted, being knit together in love, and that all the richness of the full assurance of understanding, results in the knowledge of the mystery of Elohim in the Father, and in the Messiah,
3 in Whom are hidden all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge.
4 And this I say, so that no one should deceive you with enticing words.
5 For though I am absent in the flesh, yet I am with you in the spirit, rejoicing in seeing your order, and the steadfastness of your faith in Messiah.
6 Therefore as you have received Messiah YEHOSHUA the Master, so walk in Him,
7 rooted and built up in Him, and established in your faith, just as you were taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.
8 See to it that no one seduces you through philosophy or empty deceit, according to the traditions of mankind, after the elemental things of the world, and not after Messiah.
9 For in Him dwells all the fullness of Divinity bodily,
10 and you are complete in Him, Who is the head of all principality and authority;
11 and whom you are circumcised with a circumcision made without hands; in the putting off of the body of sinful flesh by the circumcision of Messiah;
12 buried with Him in baptism, in which you are also raised up with Him through the faith in the working of Elohim, Who has raised Him from the dead.
13 And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, were made alive together with Him, being forgiven of all your sins,
14 having blotted out the hand-written decrees against us, which opposed us; having taken it out of the way; by nailing it to the cross.
15 And having put off the principalities and authorities, He made a show of them publicly, having triumphed over them through it.
16 Let no one therefore judge you regarding food, or drink, or in respect to a holiday, or a new moon, or the Sabbath;
17 things that are a shadow of things to come; but the body is Messiah’s.
18 Let no one deprive you of your reward through a voluntary humility and the worship of the angels, intruding into things which they have not seen, vainly puffed-up by their fleshly mind;
19 and not holding to the Head, from Whom the entire body, being ministered to and knit together by the joints and ligaments, increases with the increase from Elohim.
20 Therefore if you have died with Messiah to the elemental things of the world, why, as though living in the world, do you subject yourself to ordinances, such as,
21 do not touch, do not taste, do not handle;
22 which are all to perish with the using, according to the commandments and doctrines of mankind?
23 Things which indeed have the appearance of wisdom in piety, and humility, and harsh treatment of the body, yet are without value to the satisfying of the flesh.

If you then are risen with Messiah, seek the things that are above, where Messiah sits at the right hand of El.
2 Set your mind on things above, not things on earth,
3 for you have died, and your life is hidden with Messiah in Elohim.
4 When Messiah, our life, appears, then you also will appear with Him in glory.
5 Therefore, deaden the members of your earthly body to fornication, uncleanness, vile passions, evil lusts and covetousness, which is idolatry,
6 for it is because of these that the wrath of Elohim will come upon the children of disobedience.
7 And in them you also once walked, when you lived in them,
8 but now you also put away all anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy and shameful language from your mouth.
9 Do not lie to one another, since you laid aside the old self with its deeds.
10 And having put on the new self, which is renewed in knowledge according to the image of the One Who created you,
11 where there is neither Gentile nor Yehud, circumcised or uncircumcised, barbarian, Scythian, servant or freeman, but Messiah is all, and in all.
12 Put on therefore, as the chosen of Elohim, holy and beloved, hearts of mercy, kindness, humility, meekness and patience,
13 enduring one another, and forgiving one another.  If anyone has a complaint against another; even as Messiah forgave you, so also should you.
14 And above all these things, love, which is the bond of perfection.
15 And let the peace of Elohim rule in your hearts, to which also you were called in one body; and be thankful.
16 Let the word of Messiah richly dwell in you in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts unto Elohim.
17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the Name of Master YEHOSHUA, giving thanks to El the Father through Him.
18 Wives, submit yourselves unto your husbands, as is fitting in the Master.
19 Husbands, love your wives and be not bitter against them.
20 Children, obey your parents in all things, for this is pleasing to the Master.
21 Fathers, do not provoke your children, so that they will not be disheartened.
22 Servants, in all things obey those who are your lords in the flesh, not with eye-service, as fawning, but with sincerity of heart, fearing Elohim.
23 And whatsoever you do, labor heartily as for the Master, and not as unto mankind,
24 knowing that from the Master you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for it is the Master Messiah Whom you serve.
25 But they who do wrong will receive the wrong that they have done, and that without respect of persons.

Lords, grant unto your servants justice and equity, knowing that you have a Master in heaven.
2 Persevere in prayer, being vigilant in it to be thankful;
3 praying also for us as well, that Elohim will open unto us a door for the word, so that we may speak forth the mystery of Messiah, for which I am also in bonds;
4 that I may make it manifest as I ought to speak.
5 Walk in wisdom toward those without, redeeming the opportunity,
6 and let your speech always be with grace, seasoned with salt, that you may know how to respond to each person.
7 As to all my state, Tychicus, the beloved brother and faithful minister and fellow servant in the Master, will declare unto you,
8 whom I have sent unto you for this purpose; that he might know your state, and comfort your hearts;
9 and with him Onesimus, a faithful and beloved brother, who is of you.  They will make known to you all things here.
10 Aristarchus, my fellow prisoner, greets you; and Mark, Barnabas’ sister’s son, about whom you received commandment, if he comes to you, receive him;
11 and Joshua who is called Justus, who is of the circumcised.  These are the only fellow workers for the kingdom of Elohim who have been a comfort to me.
12 Epaphras, who is of you, a servant of YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach, greets you, always laboring fervently for you in prayer, so that you may stand perfect and fulfilled in all the will of Elohim.
13 For I bear witness that he has a great zeal for you, and for those who are in Laodicea and Hierapolis.
14 Luke, the beloved physician, sends you his greetings; and Demas.
15 Greet the brethren who are in Laodicea, and also Nymphas, and the church that is in his house.
16 And when this letter has been read among you, have it also read in the church of the Laodiceans; and you, for your part, read my letter from Laodicea.
17 And tell Archippus, “Take heed of the ministry that you have received in the Master, that you fulfill it.”
18 The salutation by my hand, Paul.  Remember my chains.  Grace be with you.
