EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 1

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 1

Paul, an apostle of YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach by the will of Elohim, to the saints who are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Messiah YEHOSHUA:
2 Grace to you and peace from El our Father, and the Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach.
3 Blessed be the El and Father of our Master  YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach, Who has blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenlies in Messiah,
4 even as He chose us in Him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before Him.  In love
5 He predestined us unto adoption as children through YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach unto Himself, according to the good pleasure of His will;
6 to the praise of the glory of His grace, through which He made us acceptable in the Beloved.
7 In Him we have redemption through His blood; the forgiveness of our sins, according to the riches of His grace,
8 which He abounded toward us in all wisdom and insight,
9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure, which He purposed in Him;
10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times, all things might be gathered together unto Messiah; things in the heavens, and things on the earth.  In Him
11 we also have obtained an inheritance, being predestined according to the purpose of Him Who works all things after the counsel of His own will,
12 that we who were the first to trust in Messiah, should be unto the praise of His glory.
13 In Him, you also, after hearing the word of truth, the gospel of your deliverance, having also believed, you were sealed in Him with The Holy Spirit of promise,
14 Who is given in advance of our inheritance, until redemption of the possession is obtained; unto the praise of His glory.
15 On account of this I too, having heard of the faith in Master YEHOSHUA among you, and your love for all the saints,
16 do not cease giving thanks for you, while making mention of you in my prayers,
17 that the El of our Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach, the Father of glory, may give unto you The Holy Spirit of wisdom and of revelation in the knowledge of Him;
18 that the eyes of your understanding may be enlightened; that you will know what is the hope of His calling, and what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints;
19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power.
20 This He did through Messiah, when He raised Him from the dead, and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenlies,
21 far above all rule and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come.
22 And He put all things in subjection under His feet, and gave Him as head over all things to the church,
23 which is His body; the fullness of Him Who fills all in all.

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 2

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 2

And you were dead in your trespasses and sins,
2 in which in time past you walked according to the course of this world; according to the prince of the power of the air; of the spirit that now works in the children of disobedience,
3 among whom we also all once lived in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature the children of wrath, even as the rest.
4 But Elohim, Who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loves us,
5 even when we were dead in our sins, has made us alive together with Messiah; for by grace you have been saved;
6 and raised us up together; and seated us together in the heavenlies with Messiah YEHOSHUA,
7 so that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in kindness toward us in Messiah YEHOSHUA.
8 For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of Elohim;
9 not from works, so that no one may boast.
10 For we are His workmanship, created in Messiah YEHOSHUA for good works, which Elohim prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
11 Therefore, remember, that in times past, you, the Gentiles in the flesh, who are called “Uncircumcision” by the so-called “Circumcision”, made in the flesh by human hands;
12 that you were at that time without Messiah; aliens from the commonwealth of Israel, and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope, and without Elohim in the world.
13 But now in Messiah YEHOSHUA, you who were far off are brought near by the blood Messiah.
14 For He is our peace, Who has made both one, and broke down the barrier of the dividing wall,
15 having abolished in His flesh the enmity; the law of commandments in ordinances; so that in Himself He might make the two into one new people, making peace;
16 and might reconcile both unto Elohim in one body by the cross, having thereby slain the enmity.
17 And He came and preached peace to you who were far off, and peace to those who were near;
18 for through Him we both have access in one Holy Spirit to the Father.
19 So then you are no longer strangers and foreigners, but you are fellow citizens with the saints, and are of the household of Elohim;
20 having been built upon the foundation of the apostles and prophets, YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach Himself being the Chief Cornerstone,
21 in Whom the whole building, being fitted together, is growing unto a holy temple in the Master,
22 in Whom you also are being built together into a dwelling of Elohim through The Holy Spirit.

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 3

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 3

For this reason I, Paul, prisoner of YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach for you Gentiles,
2 if indeed you have heard of the dispensation of Elohim’s grace which was given to me for you,
3 that by revelation He made known unto me the mystery, as I wrote before in brief,
4 by which, when you read, you may understand my knowledge into the mystery of Messiah;
5 which in other generations was not made known to the children of men, as it has now been revealed to His holy apostles and prophets in The Holy Spirit:
6 That the Gentiles are joint-heirs; members of the same body, and partakers of the promise in Messiah by the gospel,
7 of which I was made a minister, according to the gift of Elohim’s grace, which was given unto me by the effectual working of His power.
8 To me, the least of all saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Messiah,
9 and to enlighten all with the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world has been hidden in Elohim, Who created all things through YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach,
10 so that the manifold wisdom of Elohim might now be made known through the church to the rulers and the authorities in the heavenlies,
11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished through Messiah YEHOSHUA our Master,
12 in Whom we have boldness and confident access through faith in Him.
13 Therefore, I ask that you not weary of my tribulations on your behalf, for they are your glory.
14 For this reason I bow my knees unto the Father of our Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach,
15 from Whom every family in heaven and on earth is named;
16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Holy Spirit in the inner person,
17 so that Messiah may dwell in your hearts by faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,
18 may be able to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth, and length, and height, and depth,
19 and to know the love of Messiah, which surpasses knowledge; that you may be filled to all the fullness of Elohim.
20 Now to Him Who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works within us;
21 to Him be the glory in the church by Messiah YEHOSHUA throughout all ages, forever and ever.  Amen!

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 4

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 4

I therefore, the prisoner of the Master, urge you to walk worthily of the calling with which you have been called;
2 with all modesty and humility; with patience and endurance, showing tolerance for one another in love,
3 laboring to keep the unity of The Holy Spirit in the bond of peace.
4 One body and one Spirit, just as also you were called in one hope of your calling;
5 one Master, one faith, one baptism,
6 one El and Father of all, Who is over all, and through all, and in all.
7 But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Messiah’s gift.
8 Therefore it says, “You have ascended on high, You carried away Your captives; You have received gifts of mankind; yes, of the rebellious also.” 1
9 (Now this, “He ascended,” what does it mean except that He also had descended into the lower parts of the earth?
10 And He Who descended is Himself also He Who ascended far above all the heavens, so that He might fill all things.)
11 And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers;
12 for the perfecting of the saints, for the work of ministry, for the edifying of the body of Messiah;
13 until we all attain to the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of Elohim, unto mature sons and daughters; unto the measure of the stature of the fullness of Messiah;
14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro, carried about by every wind of doctrine, by the trickery of mankind; by craftiness in deceitful scheming;
15 but speaking the truth in love, we may grow up in all ways into Him, Who is the head, Messiah,
16 from Whom the whole body, being fitted and knit together closely by that which every joint supplies, according to the measured working of each and every part, produces the growth of the body for the building up of itself in love.
17 This I say, therefore, and testify in the Master, that you no longer walk just as other Gentiles walk, in the vanity of their mind,
18 being darkened in their understanding, alienated from the life of Elohim, because of the ignorance that is in them; because of the hardness of their heart,
19 who in apathy have given themselves over to lasciviousness in the working of every kind of uncleanness and greed.
20 But you did not learn Messiah in this way,
21 if indeed you have heard Him, and have been taught in Him, just as truth is in YEHOSHUA,
22 that concerning your former behavior, you cast off the old self, which is corrupt in accordance with deceitful lusts;
23 and that you be renewed in the spirit of your mind;
24 and that you put on the new self, which in Elohim has been created in righteousness and true holiness.
25 Therefore, put away lying, and speak the truth each one with your neighbor, for we are members of one another.
26 Be angry, and yet do not sin; and do not let the sun go down on your anger;
27 nor give place to the devil.
28 Let those who steal, steal no more, but rather let them labor, doing what is good with their own hands, so that they may share with another who has need.
29 Let no corrupt words proceed from your mouth, but only that which is good to the use of edifying, that it may minister grace unto those who hear.
30 And grieve not The Holy Spirit of Elohim, by Whom you were sealed for the day of redemption.
31 Let all bitterness, and wrath, and anger, and clamor, and blasphemy, be put away from you, along with all malice;
32 and be kind to one another; tender-hearted; forgiving one another, even as Elohim, for the sake of Messiah, has also forgiven you.

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 5

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 5

Therefore, be imitators of Elohim as beloved children,
2 and walk in love, just as Messiah also loved us, and gave Himself up for us; an offering and a sacrifice unto Elohim, as a fragrant aroma.
3 But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, must not be named among you, as is becoming saints;
4 nor filthiness, or foolish talk, or coarse jesting, which are not fitting, but rather giving of thanks.
5 For this you know, that no fornicator, nor unclean person, nor covetous person, who is an idolater, has any inheritance in the kingdom of Messiah and Elohim.
6 Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of Elohim comes upon the children of disobedience.
7 Be not, therefore, partakers with them,
8 for you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Master; walk as children of light,
9 (for the fruit of The Spirit is in all goodness and righteousness and truth),
10 proving what is acceptable to the Master.
11 And have no fellowship with the unfruitful works of darkness, but rather even expose them,
12 for it is shameful even to speak of those things that are done by them in secret.
13 But all things that are reproved are visible when they are made manifest by the light, for everything becomes visible in the light.
14 For this reason it says, “Awake and sing, you that dwell in the dust,” and, “Messiah will shine on you.” 2
15 Take heed, therefore; see that you walk diligently, not as fools, but as wise,
16 making the most of your time, because the days are evil.
17 Therefore be not unwise, but understand what is the will of the Master.
18 And be not drunk with wine, for that is excess, but be filled with The Holy Spirit,
19 speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs; singing and making melody in your heart unto the Master;
20 giving thanks always for all things unto Elohim, and the Father, in the Name of our Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach;
21 submitting yourselves to one another in the fear of Elohim.
22 Wives, submit yourselves to your own husband, as unto the Master,
23 for the husband is the head of the wife, as Messiah also is the head of the church; and He Himself the Deliverer of the body.
24 Therefore, as the church is subject unto Messiah, so also wives unto your own husbands in everything.
25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Messiah also loves the church, and gave Himself up for her;
26 so that He might sanctify and cleanse her by the washing of water with the Word;
27 so that He might present to Himself a glorious church, having no spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she would be holy and without blame.
28 So ought husbands to love their own wives as their own body.  He who loves his wife loves himself,
29 for no one ever hated their own flesh, but nourishes and cherishes it, even as Messiah also the church,
30 because we are members of His body.
31 “Therefore a man shall leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave to his wife; and they shall become one flesh.” 3
32 This mystery is great, but I speak with reference to Messiah and the church.
33 Nevertheless, let each man among you so love his own wife even as himself, and the wife that she reveres her husband.

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 6

EPHESIANS:  CHAPTER 6

Children, obey your parents in the Master, for this is right.
2 “Honor your father and your mother,” (which is the first commandment with a promise), 4
3 “That your days may be prolonged in the land.” 4
4 Fathers, do not provoke your children to anger, but bring them up in the instruction and admonition of the Master.
5 Servants, be obedient to those who are your lords according to the flesh; with fear and trembling, in the sincerity of your heart, as unto Messiah;
6 not with eye service, as fawning, but as servants of Messiah, doing the will of Elohim from the heart.
7 With good will serve, as unto the Master, and not to mankind,
8 knowing that whatever good thing each one does, the same shall they receive from the Master, whether servant or free.
9 And lords, do the same things unto them; let up threatening, knowing that your Master also is in heaven, and there is no partiality with Him.
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Master, and in the power of His might
11 put on the full armor of Elohim, so that you will be able to stand firm against the schemes of the devil.
12 For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the powers, against the world forces of this darkness; against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenlies.
13 Therefore, take up the full armor of Elohim, so that you will be able to resist in the evil day; and having done everything, to stand firm.
14 Stand firm therefore, having girded your loins with truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness,
15 and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace.
16 Above all, take up the shield of faith, with which you will be able to extinguish the flaming missiles of the evil one.
17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of The Holy Spirit, which is the Word of Elohim.
18 With all prayer and supplication, pray at all times in The Holy Spirit, and with this in view: Keep watch with all perseverance and supplication on behalf of all the saints,
19 and for me, that utterance may be given unto me; that I may open my mouth boldly; to make known the mystery of the gospel,
20 for which I am an ambassador in bonds; that I may speak boldly, as I ought to speak.
21 But that you also may know my concerns, and how I am doing, Tychicus, a beloved brother and faithful minister in the Master, will make known to you all things;
22 whom I have sent to you for this very purpose, so that you might know about us, and that he might comfort your hearts.
23 Peace to the brethren, and love with faith from El the Father and the Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach.
24 Grace be with all those who love our Master YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach in sincerity.
