PSALM:  1

PSALM:   1

Blessed are they who do not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful,
2 but their delight is in the Law of YEHOWAH, and in His Law they meditate day and night.
3 They shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yield its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither; and whatever they do shall prosper.
4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment; nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous,
6 for YEHOWAH knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

PSALM:  2

PSALM:  2

Why do the nations rage and the people speak with vanity?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together against YEHOWAH and against His Messiah, saying,
3 “Let us tear off their bonds and cast away their bands from us!”
4 He who dwells in the heavens laughs; Adonay holds them in contempt.
5 Then He will declare to them in His anger, and terrify them in His fierce wrath, saying,
6 “I have set My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.
7 I will surely tell the decree; YEHOWAH said to me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance, and to the ends of the earth as Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron; You shall shatter them like a potter’s vessel.'”
10 And now, O kings, be wise.  Be instructed, you judges of the earth:
11 Serve YEHOWAH with reverence and rejoice with trembling.
12 Embrace the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath will soon be kindled.  Blessed are all who hope in Him!

PSALM:  3

PSALM:  3

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son:
O YEHOWAH, how my adversaries have multiplied!  Many rise up against me.
2 Many say of my soul, “There is no deliverance for him in Elohim.”  (Selah).
3 But You, O YEHOWAH, are a shield about me; my glory, and the lifter my head.
4 I cried to YEHOWAH with my voice, and He answered me from His holy mountain. (Selah).
5 I lied down and slept; I awoke, for YEHOWAH sustains me.
6 I will not fear many millions of people who have set themselves against me round about.
7 Rise up, O YEHOWAH; save me, my Elohim!  For You shall smite all my enemies on the cheek, and You shall shatter the teeth of the wicked.
8 Deliverance is of YEHOWAH; Your blessings upon Your people!  (Selah).

PSALM:  4

PSALM:  4

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; on stringed instruments, a Psalm of David:
Respond to me when I call, O Elohim of my righteousness!  You have enlarged me through my distress; be gracious unto me and hear my prayer.
2 O children of men, how long will My glory be a disgrace, while you love vanity and seek after lies? (Selah).
3 But know that YEHOWAH has set apart the pious for Himself; YEHOWAH hears when I call to Him.
4 Stand in awe, and do not sin; speak in your own heart upon your bed, and be still. (Selah).
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in YEHOWAH.
6 Many are saying, “Who will show us good?” Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O YEHOWAH!
7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than when the grain and new wine abound.
8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You only, O YEHOWAH, make me dwell in safety.

PSALM:  5

PSALM:  5

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; upon a flute, a Psalm of David:
Give ear to my words, O YEHOWAH, consider my meditation.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King and my Elohim, for unto You I pray.
3 My voice shall You hear in the morning, O YEHOWAH; in the morning I will direct myself to You, and will look up.
4 For You are not an El who takes pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with You.
5 The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who practice iniquity.
6 You destroy those who teach lies; YEHOWAH abhors those of bloodshed and deceit.
7 But as for me, I will come into Your house by the abundance of Your loving-kindness, and in reverence will I bow down to Your holy temple.
8 Lead me, O YEHOWAH, in Your righteousness.  Because of my enemies, make Your way straight before me.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their speech; their hearts are perverse.  Their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue.
10 Hold them guilty, O Elohim; by their own counsel let them fall!  Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against You.
11 But let all that put their hope in You rejoice; let them ever shout for joy, because You cover them, that those who love Your Name may exult in You.
12 For You, YEHOWAH, will bless the righteous, and encompass them with favor, as with a shield.

PSALM:  6

PSALM:  6

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; with stringed instruments, upon an eight-string
lyre, a Psalm of David:
O YEHOWAH, rebuke me not in Your anger, nor chasten me in Your wrath.
2 Be gracious unto me, O YEHOWAH, for I am weak; heal me, O YEHOWAH, for my body trembles,
3 and my soul is greatly troubled; but You, O YEHOWAH – how long?
4 Return, O YEHOWAH, deliver my soul; save me because of Your loving-kindness.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of You; in hell who will give thanks unto You?
6 I am weary with my groaning; every night I make my bed swim; I water my couch with my tears.
7 My eye is consumed with grief; it has become old because of all my enemies.
8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for YEHOWAH has heard the voice of my weeping;
9 YEHOWAH has heard my supplication; YEHOWAH receives my prayer.
10 All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed; they shall turn back; they will suddenly be ashamed.

PSALM:  7

PSALM:  7

Psalms: Instructions  A rambling poem of David, which he sang to YEHOWAH concerning the words of Cush, a Benyehminite:
O YEHOWAH my Elohim, in You do I put my trust.  Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
2 lest they tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3 O YEHOWAH, my Elohim, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands,
4 if I have rewarded evil to those who were at peace with me, indeed, if I have withdrawn from those who without cause were my enemy,
5 let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it, and let them trample my life down to the ground, and lay my glory in the dust.  (Selah).
6 Rise up, O YEHOWAH; in Your wrath lift up Yourself against the rage of my enemies, and awaken for me the judgment You have commanded.
7 Let the assembly of the nations encompass You, and over them return on high.
8 YEHOWAH shall direct the people; judge me, O YEHOWAH, according to my righteousness and my integrity, which is in me.
9 O, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous, for a righteous Elohim tries the hearts and minds.
10 My shield is with Elohim, who saves the upright in heart.
11 Elohim is a righteous judge; an El who is indignant every day.
12 If they do not repent, He has sharpened His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready;
13 He has also prepared for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows burn.
14 Behold, He binds the unrighteous with those who conceive mischief and fabricate lies;
15 He has dug a pit and hollowed it out, that they may fall into the pit that He made;
16 that their mischief will return upon their own head, and their violence will come down upon their own pate.
17 And I will worship YEHOWAH according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the Name of YEHOWAH, Most High.

PSALM:  8

 PSALM:  8

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; on a harp, a Psalm of David:
O YEHOWAH, our Adonay, how excellent is Your Name in all the earth; Who displays Your glory throughout the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babes You establish strength, because of Your adversaries, to still the enemy and the punisher.
3 When I see Your heavens, the work of Your fingers; the moon and the stars, which You have established,
4 what is man that You are mindful of them, and the children of man that You care for them?
5 You have made them a little lower than Elohim, and You crown them with glory and majesty!
6 You make them to reign over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under their feet;
7 all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
8 the fowl of the sky and the fish of the sea; whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 O YEHOWAH, our Adonay, how mighty is Your Name in all the earth!

PSALM:  9

PSALM:  9

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; upon the death of a son, a Psalm of David:
I will worship YEHOWAH with all my heart; I will recount all Your wonders.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing forth praises to Your Name, O Most High!
3 When my enemies are turned back, they will fall and perish in Your presence,
4 for You have maintained my right and my cause; You sit on the throne judging righteously.
5 You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked; You have erased their name forever and ever,
6 and the enemy is consumed in perpetual destruction.  You have uprooted the cities; the very memory of them has perished.
7 But YEHOWAH abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment,
8 and He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment upon the peoples uprightly.
9 And YEHOWAH will be a stronghold for the oppressed; a stronghold in times of trouble,
10 and those who know Your Name will put their trust in You, for You, YEHOWAH, have not forsaken those who seek You.
11 Sing praises to YEHOWAH, Who dwells in Zion; declare among the people His deeds.
12 When He makes inquisition for bloodshed, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
13 Have mercy upon me, O YEHOWAH.  See my affliction from those that hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may declare all Your praises; that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your deliverance.
15 The nations have sunk down in the pit that they have made.  In the nets that they hidden, their own foot is caught.
16 YEHOWAH is known by the judgment He has executed; the condemned are ensnared by the work of their hands.  (Solemn Pause).
17 The condemned shall be turned back to hell; all the nations who forget Elohim,
18 for the needy will not always be forgotten; the hope of the afflicted shall not perish forever.
19 Rise up, O YEHOWAH, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your sight.
20 Put them in fear, O YEHOWAH; let the nations know that they are but men. (Pause).

PSALM:  10

PSALM:  10

Why do You stand far off, O YEHOWAH? Why do You hide in times of trouble?
2 In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; let them be caught in the plots that they devise,
3 for the wicked boasts of their souls desires, and bless the covetous, and blaspheme YEHOWAH.
4 The wicked, in the height of their anger, do not seek out; all their thoughts are, “There is no Elohim.”
5 Their ways always prosper; Your judgments are on high, out of their sight, and they blow-off all their adversaries.
6 They say in their heart, “I will not be moved; from generation to generation I will not be in adversity.”
7 Their mouth is full of cursing, deceit and oppression, and under their tongue is mischief and vanity.
8 They sit in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places they kill the innocent, their eyes lurking for the unfortunate.
9 They lie in wait in secret, as a lion in her lair; they lie in wait to catch the afflicted; they catch the afflicted when they draw them into their net.
10 They crouch and bow down, and the unfortunate fall to the strong ones.
11 They say in their heart, “El has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”
12 Rise up, YEHOWAH; O El, lift up Your hand.  Do not forget the afflicted.
13 Why then does the wicked blaspheme Elohim? They have said in their heart, “You will not require it!”
14 You have seen, for You have beheld wickedness and anger, and You requite it with Your hand.  The unfortunate commit to You, and You have been the helper of the orphan.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evil; seek out wickedness until You find none.
16 YEHOWAH is King forever and ever; nations shall perish from His land.
17 O YEHOWAH, You have heard the desire of the afflicted; You will strengthen their heart; You will incline Your ear to hear,
18 to defend the orphan and the afflicted, so that they who are of the earth will oppress no more.

PSALM:  11

PSALM:  11

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
In YEHOWAH I have put my trust, how can you say to my soul, “Flee, bird, to your mountain”?
2 For behold, the wicked bend the bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string, that they may shoot in the darkness at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
4 YEHOWAH is in His holy temple; YEHOWAH’S throne is in heaven; His eyes behold; His eyelids try the children of men.
5 YEHOWAH tries the righteous, but the wicked, and the one who loves violence, His soul hates.
6 Upon the wicked He will rain snares; fire and brimstone and a horrible tempest will be the portion of their cup.
7 For the righteous YEHOWAH loves righteousness.  The upright will behold His face.

PSALM:  12

PSALM:  12

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; upon an eight-stringed lyre, a Psalm of David:
Help, YEHOWAH, for the pious cease; the faithful disappear from among the children of men.
2 They speak falsely every one to their neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart do they speak.
3 YEHOWAH will cut off all flattering lips, and the tongues that speak great things,
4 who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are our own; who is lord over us?”
5 “For the devastation of the afflicted; for the crying out of the poor; now will I rise up,” says YEHOWAH; “I will set in safety at whom they puff.”
6 The words of YEHOWAH are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace of earth, refined seven times.
7 You will keep them, O YEHOWAH; You will preserve them from this generation forever.
8 The wicked walk about on every side when the vilest among the children of men are exalted.

PSALM:  13

PSALM:  13

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
How long, O YEHOWAH? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, with sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider, answer me, O YEHOWAH my Elohim; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
4 and my enemy will say, “I have prevailed against him,” and my adversaries rejoice when I am moved.
5 But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness, and my heart rejoices in Your deliverance.
6 I sing to YEHOWAH, because He has dealt bountifully with me.

PSALM:  14

PSALM:  14

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
The fool says in his heart, “There is no Elohim.”  They are corrupt, they do abominable works; none do good.
2 YEHOWAH looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if any understand and seek Elohim.
3 They have all turned aside, together they have become filthy; there are none who do good, not even one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call upon YEHOWAH?
5 There were they in great fear, for Elohim is with the generation of the righteous.
6 You have shamed the counsel of the afflicted, but YEHOWAH is their refuge.
7 Oh, that the deliverance of Israel were from Zion! When YEHOWAH brings back His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.

PSALM:  15

 PSALM:  15

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
YEHOWAH, who shall abide in Your tent? Who shall dwell on Your holy hill?
2 They who walk with integrity, and work righteousness and speak the truth in their heart;
3 who do not slander with their tongue, nor do evil to their neighbor, nor take up a reproach against their friend;
4 in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honor those that fear YEHOWAH; who, if they swear to their own hurt, do not change;
5 who do not put out their money at interest, nor take a bribe against the innocent. Those who do these will never be shaken.

PSALM:  16

PSALM:  16

Psalms: Instructions  A Poem of David:
Preserve me, O El, for I trust in You.
2 My soul has said to YEHOWAH, “You are my Adonay; my goodness extends from You.
3 Of Your holy ones who are on the earth, and the excellent, You have said, “In them is all My delight.”
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another.  Their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out, nor will I take their names upon my lips.
5 YEHOWAH is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good heritage.
7 I will bless YEHOWAH Who has counseled me; indeed, even in the night my mind instructs me.
8 I have set YEHOWAH continually before me; because He is at my right hand I will not be moved.
9 Therefore my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also shall rest securely,
10 for You will not forsake my soul to hell, nor will You allow Your Holy One to see decay.
11 You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore”.

PSALM:  17

PSALM:  17

Psalms: Instructions  A Prayer of David:
Hear the righteous, O YEHOWAH; attend to my cry; give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips.
2 Let my judgment go out from Your presence; let Your eyes behold things that are equal.
3 You have examined my heart; You have visited me by night; You have refined me and find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips I have kept from the paths of the destroyer.
5 Hold up my goings in Your paths, that my feet slip not.
6 I have called upon You, for You will answer me.  O El, incline Your ear unto me; hear my speech.
7 Show Your marvelous loving-kindness, O Deliverer of those who take refuge at Your right hand, from those who rise up.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings
9 from the wicked who deal violently with me; my deadly enemies who encompass me.
10 They are enclosed in their own fat, with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 They have now encompassed us in our steps; they have set their eyes, bowing down to the ground
12 like a lion that is eager to tear, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.
13 Rise up, O YEHOWAH, disappoint them; bring them down; deliver my soul from the wicked with Your sword;
14 from men with Your hand; O YEHOWAH, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life, and whose belly is full with Your treasure.  They are fulfilled with their children, and leave their abundance to their babes.
15 As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.

PSALM:  18

PSALM:  18

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Psalm of David, the servant of YEHOWAH, who spoke to YEHOWAH the words of this song in the day that YEHOWAH delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul.  And he said:
“I love You, O YEHOWAH, my strength.”
2 YEHOWAH is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my El; my rock in Whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my deliverance; my stronghold.
3 I call upon YEHOWAH, Who is worthy to be praised, and so shall I be saved from my enemies.
4 The bands of death encompassed me, and the torrents of Belial terrified me.
5 The bands of hell surrounded me; the snares of death were before me.
6 In my distress I called upon YEHOWAH, and cried to my Elohim for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him; into His ears.
7 Then the earth shook and quaked, and the foundations of the mountains trembled and were shaken, because He burned with anger.
8 There went up smoke out of His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth devoured; coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens, and came down, and darkness was under His feet.
10 He rode upon a cherub and did fly; yes, He sped upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness His hiding place; His tent round about Him; darkness of waters; thick clouds of the skies.
12 From the brightness before Him His thick clouds passed; hail and coals of fire.
13 YEHOWAH also thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered His voice; hail and coals of fire.
14 He sent out His arrows and scattered them, and a great many lightning flashes, and confused them.
15 Then the channels of water were seen, and the foundations of the world were laid bare at Your rebuke, O YEHOWAH; at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.
16 He sent forth from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my fierce enemy, and from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but YEHOWAH was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
20 YEHOWAH has rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.
21 For I have kept the ways of YEHOWAH, and have not wickedly departed from my Elohim.
22 For all His judgments were before me, and I did not put away His statutes from me.
23 I was also upright before Him, and I kept myself from my sin.
24 Therefore YEHOWAH has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes.
25 With the merciful You show Yourself merciful; with the blameless You show Yourself blameless;
26 with the pure You show Yourself pure, and with the perverse You show Yourself unsavory.
27 For You deliver an afflicted people, but proud eyes You bring down,
28 for You give light to my lamp; YEHOWAH my Elohim illuminates my darkness.
29 For by You I can run through a troop, and by my Elohim I can leap over a wall.
30 As for El, His way is blameless; the word of YEHOWAH is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
31 For who is Eloah, but YEHOWAH? And who is a rock, except our Elohim,
32 the El who girds me with strength and makes my way blameless?
33 He makes my feet like hinds’, and sets me upon my high places.
34 He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of brass.
35 You have also given me the shield of Your deliverance; Your right hand sustains me, and Your gentleness makes me great.
36 You enlarge my steps under me, and my ankles have not wavered.
37 I have pursued my enemies and overtook them, and I did not turn back until they were consumed.
38 I crushed them, so that they were not able to rise; they fell under my feet,
39 for You have girded me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me,
40 and my enemies You have also made turn their backs to me, that I might destroy those who hate me.
41 They cried out, but there was none to deliver; even unto YEHOWAH, but He answered them not.
42 Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind; I emptied them out as the mire of the streets.
43 You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; You have put me as the head of the nations; people I have not known serve me.
44 As soon as they hear, they obey me; foreigners submit to me;
45 foreigners faint in fear from their strongholds.
46 YEHOWAH lives, and blessed be my rock, and let the Elohim of my deliverance be exalted;
47 the El who does avenge me, and subdues peoples under me.
48 He delivers me from my enemies; yes, You lift me above those who rise up against me; You deliver me from violent men.
49 Therefore, will I give thanks to You, O YEHOWAH.  Among the nations I will sing praises to Your Name.
50 He gives great deliverance to His king, and shows loving-kindness to His anointed; to David and his seed forever.

PSALM:  19

PSALM:  19

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
The heavens declare the glory of El, and the firmament shows the work of His hands.
2 Day-to-day utters abundant speech, and night-to-night declares knowledge.
3 There is no speech, and there are no words; their voice is not heard.
4 Yet their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world.  In them He has set a tent for the sun,
5 that is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; it rejoices as a strong man to run the race.
6 Its going forth is from one end of the heavens, and its circuit to the other end of them, and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
7 The law of YEHOWAH is perfect, turning back the soul; the testimony of YEHOWAH is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of YEHOWAH are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of YEHOWAH is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of YEHOWAH is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of YEHOWAH are true; they are righteous altogether;
10 they are more precious than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who understands their errors? Cleanse me from what is hidden.
13 Keep back Your servant from being presumptuous; let them not have dominion over me; then I will be complete, and I shall be acquitted of great sins.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O YEHOWAH, my Rock and my Redeemer.

PSALM:  20

PSALM:  20

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
May YEHOWAH hear you in the day of trouble!  May the Name of the Elohim of Jacob save you!
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you from Zion.
3 May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt offerings!  Selah.
4 May He grant you according to your own heart, and fulfill all your counsel!
5 We will rejoice in Your deliverance; and in the Name of our Elohim we will set up banners.  May YEHOWAH fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that YEHOWAH delivers His anointed; He will answer them from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will call upon the Name of YEHOWAH our Elohim.
8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we are raised and stand upright.
9 Save, YEHOWAH; may the King answer us in the day we call.

PSALM:  21

PSALM:  21

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
The king will rejoice in Your strength O YEHOWAH, and in Your deliverance how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 You have given him his heart’s desire, and You have not withheld the request of his lips.  Selah.
3 For You have met him with blessings of goodness; You set a crown of fine gold upon his head.
4 He asked life of You; You gave it to him, length of days forever and ever.
5 His glory is great through Your deliverance; honor and majesty have You placed upon him.
6 For You have made him most blessed forever; You make him glad with rejoicing in Your presence.
7 For the king trusts YEHOWAH, and through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.
8 Your hand will find out all Your enemies; Your right hand will find out those who hate You.
9 You will make them as a fiery oven in the time of your presence; YEHOWAH will swallow them up in His wrath, and fire will devour them.
10 Their fruit You will destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
11 For they intend evil against You, and imagine a mischievous device, but they will not prevail,
12 for You will make them turn their back, but You will make ready Your bowstrings before their face.
13 Be exalted, O YEHOWAH, in Your strength, and we will sing and praise Your power.

PSALM:  22

 PSALM:  22

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; upon the rising of a doe, a Psalm of David:
My El, my El, why have You forsaken me? Far from my deliverance are the words of my moaning.
2 O my Elohim, I cry by day, but You do not answer, and by night, for there is no rest.
3 But You are holy, O You Who inhabit the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted and You did deliver them.
5 They cried unto You, and were delivered; they trusted and were not ashamed.
6 But I am a worm and unworthy; a reproach of humanity, despised by the people.
7 All who see me laugh me to scorn; they pucker their lips, and they wag their heads, saying,
8 “He trusted YEHOWAH, let Him deliver him; let Him rescue him, because he delights in Him.”
9 But You are He Who brought me forth from the womb; You made me trust while upon my mother’s breasts.
10 I was cast upon You from the womb; You have been my El from my mother’s womb.
11 Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have encompassed me; mighty bulls of Bashan have encircled round about me.
13 They gape upon me with their mouths; as ravening and mighty roaring lions.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax, it is melted within the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a piece of pottery, and my tongue cleaves to my jaws, and You have laid me in the dust of death.
16 Dogs have encompassed me; a multitude of evildoers has encircled me; they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I can count all my bones.  They look; they stare at me;
18 they divide my garments among them, and cast lots for my clothing.
19 But You, O YEHOWAH, be not far off; O my strength, hasten to my aid.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword; my life from the power of the dog.
21 Deliver me from the lion’s mouth; yes, from the horns of the wild bulls, answer me.
22 I will declare Your Name to my brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23 You who revere YEHOWAH, praise Him; all you seed of Jacob, glorify Him.  And gather together unto Him, all you seed of Israel.
24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor, nor has He hidden His face from them, but when they cry to Him, He hears.
25 My praise is from You in the great assembly, and I will pay my vows before those who revere You.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; they will praise YEHOWAH that seek Him.  Your heart will live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to YEHOWAH, and all the families of the nations will worship before You.
28 For the kingdom is YEHOWAH’S, and He rules the nations.
29 All the fat of the land will eat and worship; all who go down to the dust will bow before You, and none can keep alive their own soul.
30 The seed will serve Him; it will be declared of Adonay to generations.
31 They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born; and all that He has done.

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
YEHOWAH is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters;
3 He restores my soul.  He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His Name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me.  Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of YEHOWAH forever.

PSALM:  24

PSALM:  24

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
The earth is YEHOWAH’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and those who dwell in it.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who may ascend upon the mountain of YEHOWAH? And who may stand in His holy place?
4 They whose hands are clean and whose heart is pure; who have not lifted up their soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 They shall receive a blessing from YEHOWAH, and righteousness from the Elohim of his deliverance.
6 This is the posterity of those who seek Him, who seek His face, O Jacob.  Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O eternal doors, that the King of glory may come in!
8 Who is the King of glory? YEHOWAH strong and mighty; YEHOWAH mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates, yes, lift up, O everlasting doors, that the King of glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory? YEHOWAH of hosts, He is the King of glory.  Selah.

PSALM:  25

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
To You, O YEHOWAH, I lift up my soul.
2 O my Elohim, I trust in You, do not let me be ashamed; do not let my enemies triumph over me.
3 Also, let none of those who wait for You be ashamed; let them be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
4 Make me know Your way, O YEHOWAH; teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the Elohim of my deliverance; for You I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O YEHOWAH, Your tender mercy and Your loving-kindness, for they have been from of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions.  According to Your loving-kindness remember me, for Your goodness’ sake, O YEHOWAH.
8 Good and upright is YEHOWAH, therefore He will instruct sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in judgment, and He teaches the humble His way.
10 All the paths of YEHOWAH are loving-kindness and truth, to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your Name’s sake, O YEHOWAH, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
12 Who are they that revere YEHOWAH? Those are the ones He will instruct in the way they should choose.
13 Their soul will abide in prosperity, and their seed will inherit the earth.
14 The secret of YEHOWAH is for those who revere Him, and He will make them know His covenant.
15 My eyes are continually toward YEHOWAH, for He will pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.
19 Look upon my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with violent hatred.
20 Keep my soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I trust in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait on You.
22 Redeem Israel, O Elohim, out of all his troubles.

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
Judge me, O YEHOWAH, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in YEHOWAH.  I shall not waver.
2 Examine me, O YEHOWAH, and try me; refine my mind and my heart.
3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.
4 I do not sit with vane people, nor will I go with pretenders.
5 I have hated the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.
6 I will wash my hands in innocence, so I may encompass Your altar, O YEHOWAH,
7 that I may hear the voice of thanksgiving, and declare all Your wonders.
8 O YEHOWAH, I love the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells.
9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with people of bloodshed,
10 in whose hands is wickedness, and whose right hand is full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity.  Redeem me, and be gracious to me.
12 My foot stands on a level place; in the congregations I will bless YEHOWAH.

PSALM:  27

PSALM:  27

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
YEHOWAH is my light and my deliverance; whom shall I fear? YEHOWAH is the defense of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked, my adversaries and my enemies, came upon me to devour my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though armies encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war arises against me, in this I shall be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of YEHOWAH that I shall seek, that I may dwell in the house of YEHOWAH all the days of my life; to behold the beauty of YEHOWAH and to make inquiry in His temple.
5 For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock.
6 And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies round about me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises unto YEHOWAH.
7 Hear, O YEHOWAH, when I cry with my voice, and be gracious unto me and answer me.
8 “Seek My face,” my heart heard You say; Your face, O YEHOWAH, I do seek.
9 Hide not Your face from me; do not turn Your servant away in anger.  You have been my help; do not leave me nor forsake me, O Elohim of my deliverance!
10 When my father and my mother forsook me, YEHOWAH took me up.
11 Teach me Your way, O YEHOWAH, and lead me in a level path, because of my enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of my enemies, for false witnesses rise up against me, and such as breathe out violence,
13 unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of YEHOWAH in the land of the living.
14 Wait for YEHOWAH; be strong and let your heart be courageous; yes, wait for YEHOWAH.

PSALM:  28

PSALM:  28

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
To You, O YEHOWAH, I call out; my rock, do not be deaf to me, for if You are deaf to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You; when I lift up my hands toward Your holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, or with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace with their neighbors, while evil is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds, and according to the evil of their work; give them according to the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of YEHOWAH, nor the deeds of His hands, He will tear them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be YEHOWAH, for He has heard the voice of my supplications.
7 YEHOWAH is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped, therefore my heart rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.
8 YEHOWAH is their strength, and He is a delivering stronghold to His anointed.
9 Save Your people and bless Your inheritance; shepherd them also, and lift them up forever.

 PSALM:  29

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
Give unto YEHOWAH, you children of the Mighty El; give to YEHOWAH glory and strength.
2 Give unto YEHOWAH the glory due His Name; worship YEHOWAH in the beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of YEHOWAH is upon the waters; the El of glory thunders; YEHOWAH is upon many waters.
4 The voice of YEHOWAH is powerful; the voice of YEHOWAH is full of majesty.
5 The voice of YEHOWAH breaks the cedars; yes, YEHOWAH breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild bull.
7 The voice of YEHOWAH divides the flames of fire.
8 The voice of YEHOWAH shakes the wilderness; YEHOWAH shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of YEHOWAH makes the hinds to calve, and makes bare the forests, and in His temple every one says, “Glory!”
10 YEHOWAH sits upon the flood; yes, YEHOWAH sits as King forever.
11 YEHOWAH will give strength to His people; YEHOWAH will bless His people with peace.

PSALM:  30

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the house of David:
I will extol You, O YEHOWAH, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my enemies rejoice over me.
2 O YEHOWAH, my Elohim, I cried unto You, and You healed me.
3 O YEHOWAH, You have brought up my soul from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit.
4 Sing praise unto YEHOWAH, you His pious ones, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness,
5 for His anger is momentary; His favor is for a lifetime; weeping may endure for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I will never be moved.”
7 O YEHOWAH, by Your favor, You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face and I trembled.
8 I called to You, O YEHOWAH, and unto YEHOWAH I made supplication.
9 What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?
10 Hear, O YEHOWAH, and be gracious unto me; O YEHOWAH, be my helper.
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
12 that my glory may sing praises to You, and not be silent.  O YEHOWAH my Elohim, I will give thanks to You forevermore.

PSALM:  31

PSALM:  31

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
In You, O YEHOWAH, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Your righteousness.
2 Incline Your ear to me; deliver me speedily; be a rock of strength to me; a fortress to be safe,
3 for You are my rock and my fortress, and for Your Name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
4 Pull me from the net that they have laid secretly for me, for You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I commit my soul; You have redeemed me, O YEHOWAH, El of truth.
6 I hate those who regard lying and vanity, for I trust in YEHOWAH.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in Your loving-kindness, because You have seen my affliction; You have known the distress of my soul,
8 and You have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy, You have set my feet in a large place.
9 Be gracious unto me, O YEHOWAH, for I am in trouble.  My eye is consumed with grief, yes, my soul and my body,
10 for my life is spent with sorrow and my years with sighing; my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my body is wasted away.
11 I am the reproach of all my enemies, especially my neighbors, and a dread to my acquaintances; those who see me outside flee from me.
12 I am forgotten as the dead, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel,
13 for I have heard the slander of many, and fear is on every side; when they take counsel together against me, they purpose to take away my life.
14 But I trust in You, O YEHOWAH! I say, “You are my Elohim.”
15 My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your face to shine upon Your servant; save me in Your loving-kindness.
17 Let me not be ashamed, O YEHOWAH, for I call upon You; let the wicked be ashamed; let them be silent in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence, which speak arrogantly against the righteous with pride and contempt.
19 How great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You; which You have done for those who take refuge in You, before the children of mankind!
20 You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the snares of the people; You keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be YEHOWAH, for He has shown me His marvelous lovingkindness in a besieged city.
22 As for me, I said in my fear, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to You.
23 O, love YEHOWAH, all you His pious ones!  YEHOWAH preserves the faithful and over-abundantly repays the proud doer.
24 Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in YEHOWAH.

PSALM:  32

PSALM:  32

Psalms: Instructions  A psalm of David, a poem:
How blessed are they whose transgression is forgiven; whose sin is covered!
2 How blessed are they unto whom YEHOWAH does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!
3 When I remained silent, my body became old through my moaning all the day long.
4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vigor was turned into the drought of summer.  Selah.
5 I made known my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to YEHOWAH”, and You forgave the iniquity of my sin.  Selah.
6 Therefore, let everyone who is pious pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in the flood of great waters they will not reach up to You.
7 You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance.  Selah.
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
9 Be not as the horse or as the mule, which have no understanding; whose trappings include a bridle and a bit to hold them in check, or else they will not come near to you.
10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but they who trust in YEHOWAH, loving-kindness shall encompass them round about.
11 Be glad in YEHOWAH and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.

PSALM:  33

PSALM:  33

Shout for joy in YEHOWAH, O you righteous; praise is becoming to the upright.
2 Give thanks unto YEHOWAH with the harp; sing forth praises unto Him with a ten-stringed lute.
3 Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a joyful noise.
4 For the word of YEHOWAH is upright, and all His work is in truth.
5 He loves righteous judgments; the earth is full of the loving-kindness of YEHOWAH.
6 By the word of YEHOWAH were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear YEHOWAH; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
9 For He spoke, and it was; He commanded, and it stood fast.
10 YEHOWAH brings to nothing the counsel of the nations, and He makes of no effect the plots of the people.
11 The counsel of YEHOWAH stands forever; the plots of His heart from generation to generation.
12 Blessed is the nation whose Elohim is YEHOWAH, and the people whom He has chosen for His inheritance.
13 YEHOWAH looks from the heavens; He beholds all the children of mankind;
14 from the place of His dwelling He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth;
15 He who fashions the hearts of them all; He who understands all their deeds.
16 A king is not saved by the multitude of a great army, nor are the mighty delivered by great strength;
17 a horse is a false hope for safety, nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength.
18 Behold, the eye of YEHOWAH is upon those who revere Him; upon those who hope for His loving-kindness,
19 to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for YEHOWAH; He is our help and our shield,
21 for our hearts rejoice in Him, because we trust in His holy Name.
22 Let Your loving-kindness, O YEHOWAH, be upon us, according as we hope in You.

PSALM:  34

PSALM:  34

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David; when he changed his behavior before Abimelech, who drove him away, and he departed:
I will bless YEHOWAH at all times; His praises will continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul will make its boast in YEHOWAH; the humble will hear and rejoice.
3 O magnify YEHOWAH with me, and let us exalt His Name together.
4 I sought YEHOWAH, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked at Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.
6 This humble one called, and YEHOWAH heard, and delivered him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of YEHOWAH encamps round about those who fear Him, and delivers them.
8 O taste and see that YEHOWAH is good; blessed are they who take refuge in Him!
9 O fear YEHOWAH, you His saints, for to those who fear Him there is no want.
10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but they who seek YEHOWAH shall not want any good.
11 Come, you children, hear me; I will teach you the fear of YEHOWAH.
12 Who is the one who desires life and loves days that they may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceitfully.
14 Depart from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of YEHOWAH are toward the righteous, and His ears are to their cry;
16 the face of YEHOWAH is against those that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and YEHOWAH hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 YEHOWAH is near to the brokenhearted and saves the contrite in spirit.
19 Many are the adversities of the righteous, but YEHOWAH delivers them out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones, not one of them is broken.
21 Evil will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be held guilty.
22 YEHOWAH redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who hope in Him will be held guilty.

PSALM:  35

PSALM:  35

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
Contend, O YEHOWAH, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler and rise up for my help.
3 Draw out also the spear to stop and meet those who pursue me; say to my soul, “I am your deliverance.”
4 Let those be ashamed and humiliated who seek my life; let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind, with the angel of YEHOWAH driving them away.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of YEHOWAH pursue them.
7 For without cause they have hidden their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my soul.
8 Let destruction come upon them unawares, and let the net, which they hid, catch them; into that very destruction let them fall.
9 And my soul will rejoice in YEHOWAH; it will rejoice in His deliverance.
10 All my bones will say, “YEHOWAH, who is like You, Who delivers the afflicted from those who are too strong for them, and the afflicted and the needy from those who consume them?”
11 Violent witnesses rise up; they lay to my charge things that I know not.
12 They repay me evil for good, to the bereavement of my soul.
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned to my bosom.
14 I behaved as though it were my friend or brother; I bowed down in sadness, as one mourns for a mother.
15 But in my adversity they rejoiced and gathered together; the attackers whom I did not know gathered against me; they tore at me without ceasing.
16 Like impious buffoons at a feast, they gnashed at me with their teeth.
17 Adonay, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their tempest; my life from the lions.
18 I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people.
19 Let not them who are wrongfully my enemies rejoice over me, nor let them wink with the eye, those that hate me without cause,
20 for they speak not peace, but they devise deceitful matters against the quiet in the land.
21 They open wide their mouth against me; they say, “Aha, aha, our eyes have seen!”
22 You have seen it, O YEHOWAH, keep not silent; O Adonay, be not far from me.
23 Stir up Yourself, and awake to my judgment and to my cause, my Elohim and my Adonay.
24 Judge me, O YEHOWAH my Elohim, according to Your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me.
25 Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha, as we would have it!” Do not let them say, “We have swallowed him up!”
26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion altogether who rejoice at my adversity; let those be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves over me.
27 Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who delight in my righteousness, and let them say continually, “YEHOWAH be magnified, Who delights in the prosperity of His servant.”
28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness, and Your praises, all the day long.

PSALM:  36

PSALM:  36

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David the servant of YEHOWAH:
Sin speaks to the wicked within their heart; there is no fear of Elohim before their eyes,
2 for sin flatters them in their eyes, even when their iniquity is found to be hateful.
3 The words of their mouth are wicked and deceitful; they have ceased to be wise and do good.
4 They devise wickedness upon their bed; they set themselves on a path that is not good; they abhor not evil.
5 Your loving-kindness, O YEHOWAH, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness is in the clouds;
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains, O El; Your judgments are a great deep.  O YEHOWAH, You preserve mankind and beast.
7 How excellent is Your loving-kindness, O Elohim!  Therefore the children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They drink their fill, and are abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Your house, and You make them drink of the river of Your pleasure,
9 for with You is the fountain of life; in Your light shall we see light.
10 O continue Your loving-kindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 There the workers of iniquity fall; they have been thrust down and shall not be able to rise.

PSALM:  37

PSALM:  37

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David:
Fret not because of evildoers; neither be envious of those who work iniquity,
2 for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and whither like the green herb.
3 Trust in YEHOWAH and do good, dwell in the land and feed on faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in YEHOWAH, and He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to YEHOWAH, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass,
6 for He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in YEHOWAH and wait patiently for Him; fret not because of those who prosper in their way, because of anyone who acts wickedly.
8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; fret only of doing evil,
9 for evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait upon YEHOWAH, they will inherit the land.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will not exist, you will diligently look for their place, and they are not.
11 But the humble will inherit the land, and will delight in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash at them with their teeth.
13 Adonay laughs at them, for He sees that their day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and bent their bow, to cast down the humble and the needy; to slay those who are upright in their way.
15 Their sword will enter their own heart, and their bows will be broken.
16 The little that the righteous has is better than the riches of many wicked,
17 for the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but YEHOWAH upholds the righteous.
18 YEHOWAH knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance will be forever.
19 They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied.
20 But the wicked will perish, and the enemies of YEHOWAH will be like the fat of lambs, they will cease; like smoke they will cease.
21 The wicked borrow and pay not again, but the righteous are gracious and give,
22 for those blessed by Him will inherit the land, but those cursed by Him will be cut off.
23 The steps of every person are established by YEHOWAH, and He delights in their way.
24 Though they fall, they will not be utterly cast down, because YEHOWAH upholds them with His hand.
25 I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or their seed begging for bread.
26 All day long they are gracious and lend, and their seed are blessed.
27 Depart from evil and do good deeds, and dwell forevermore,
28 for YEHOWAH loves justice and does not forsake His pious ones; they are preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
29 The righteous will inherit the land and dwell therein forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak justice.
31 The law of Elohim is in their heart; His steps will not slide.
32 The wicked spy upon the righteous and seek to kill them,
33 but YEHOWAH will not leave them in their hand, or let them be condemned when they are judged.
34 Wait upon YEHOWAH and keep His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading like a green tree in its native soil.
36 Then they pass away, and lo, they are no more.  I sought for them, but they could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless, and behold the upright, for their end is peace,
38 but the transgressors will be altogether destroyed; the posterity of the wicked will be cut off,
39 but the deliverance of the righteous is from YEHOWAH; He is their strength in time of trouble,
40 and YEHOWAH will help them and deliver them; He will deliver them from the wicked and save them, because they trust in Him.

PSALM:  38

PSALM:  38

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance:
O YEHOWAH, rebuke me not in Your wrath, nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure,
2 for Your arrows stick fast in me, and Your hand has come down upon me.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger, and there is no health in my bones because of my sin,
4 for my iniquities have gone over my head; as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds stink; they are corrupt because of my foolishness.
6 I am troubled and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all day long,
7 for my loins are filled with a burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and very sore; I moan because of the agitation of my heart.
9 Adonay, all my desire is before You, and my groaning is not hidden from You.
10 My heart pants; my strength fails me, and the light of my eyes, even that also has gone from me.
11 My beloved and my friends stand aloof from my plague, and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12 Those who seek my life lay snares, and those who seek my harm speak ruin, and they murmur deceitfully all day long.
13 But I, like the deaf, hear not, and like the mute, cannot open my mouth.
14 Thus, I am like those who cannot hear, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 For in You, O YEHOWAH, do I hope; You will see, O Adonay, my Elohim.
16 For I said, “Let them not rejoice over me! When my foot slipped, they magnified themselves against me,”
17 for I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me,
18 for I declare my iniquity.  I am anxious because of my sin,
19 but my enemies are lively and strong, and those who hate me wrongfully are multiplied;
20 and those who repay evil for good are my adversaries, because I pursue what is good.
21 Forsake me not, O YEHOWAH; O my Elohim, be not far from me!
22 Make haste to help me, O Adonay, my deliverer!

PSALM:  39

PSALM:  39

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; for thanks, a Psalm of David:
I said, “I will guard my ways that I sin not with my tongue; I will guard my mouth, as with a muzzle, while the wicked are in my presence.”
2 I was dumb with silence; I held my peace from good, and my sorrow was stirred.
3 My heart was hot within me; while I was musing the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue,
4 “YEHOWAH, make me to know my end, and the measure of my days; that I may know how frail I am.
5 Behold, You have made my days as hand-breadths, and my lifetime as nothing in Your sight; surely every person at their best is altogether vain.  Selah.
6 Surely every person walks about in vanity; surely they roar for nothing; they heap up, but do not know who will gather.
7 And now, Adonay, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.
8 Deliver me from all my sins; make me not the reproach of the foolish.
9 I was dumb; I opened not my mouth, because You did it.
10 Remove Your plague from me, because I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.
11 When You, with reproof, does chasten mankind for iniquity, You make what is precious to them consume away as a moth; surely every person is vain.  Selah.
12 Hear my prayer, O YEHOWAH, and give ear to my cry; be not silent at my tears, for I am a stranger with You; a sojourner like all my fathers.
13 Look away from me, that I may recover my strength, before I go from here, and am no more.”

PSALM:  40

PSALM:  40

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
I waited patiently for YEHOWAH, and He inclined unto me and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit; out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 He put a new song in my mouth; a song of praise unto our Elohim; many will see and fear, and will trust in YEHOWAH.
4 Blessed are they who have made YEHOWAH their trust, and have turned not to the proud, nor to those who turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O YEHOWAH my Elohim, are the wonderful works that You have done, and Your thoughts toward us, they cannot be reckoned up in order unto You.  If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering You have not desired; my ears You have opened; burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
7 Then I said, “Behold, I come; in the volume of the book written of me;
8 I delight to do Your will, O my Elohim.  Your law is within my heart.”
9 I have preached righteousness in the great assembly; behold, I have not held back my lips; O, You know!
10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your deliverance; I have not concealed Your loving-kindness or Your truth from the great assembly.
11 Withhold not Your tender mercies from me, O YEHOWAH; let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me,
12 for innumerable evils have encompassed me; my iniquities have taken hold of me, so that I am not able to see; they are more than the hairs of my head, therefore my heart fails me.
13 Be pleased, O YEHOWAH, to deliver me; O YEHOWAH, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame who wish me evil;
15 let them be desolate as a reward for their shame, who say to me, “Aha, aha!”
16 Let all those that seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let those who love Your deliverance say continually, ” YEHOWAH be magnified!”
17 But I am poor and needy, let Adonay think upon me, for You are my help and my deliverer; tarry not, O my Elohim.

PSALM:  41

PSALM: 41

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
Blessed are they who consider the poor, YEHOWAH will deliver them in time of trouble;
2 YEHOWAH will preserve them and keep them alive, and they shall be blessed upon the earth, and You will not deliver them unto the will of their enemies.
3 YEHOWAH will strengthen them upon the bed of sickness; You will turn about all their bed in their sickness.
4 I said, “YEHOWAH, be merciful unto me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”
5 My enemies speak evil of me, “When will they die, and their name perish?”
6 And if they come to see, they speak evil; their hearts gather iniquity to itself; when they go out, they tell it.
7 All that hate me whisper together against me; against me they devise my hurt,
8 “An evil disease cleaves fast unto him,” they say, “and now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.”
9 Yes, even my own friends, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, have lifted up their heels against me.
10 But You, O YEHOWAH, be merciful unto me and raise me up, that I may requite them.
11 By this I know that You are inclined to me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.
12 And as for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and set me before Your face forever.
13 Blessed be YEHOWAH, Elohim of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting.  Amen and Amen.

PSALM:  42

PSALM:  42

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, instruction for the sons of Korah:
As the deer pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O Elohim.
2 My soul thirsts for Elohim; for the living El.  When shall I come and appear before Elohim?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your Elohim?”
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me, for I had gone with the multitude; I went with them to the house of Elohim; with the voice of joy and praise; with a multitude that kept holiday.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? Why are you troubled within me? Hope in Elohim, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.
6 O my Elohim, my soul is cast down within me, therefore will I remember You from the land of Jordan, and of the Hermonites, and from the hill of Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep at the noise of Your waterspouts; all Your waves and Your billows are gone over me.
8 YEHOWAH will command His loving-kindness in the daytime, and in the night His song will be with me; a prayer to the El of my life.
9 I will say unto El my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
10 With a sword in my bones, my enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, “Where is your Elohim?”
11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you troubled within me? Hope in Elohim, for I shall yet praise Him; the deliverance of my countenance and my Elohim.

PSALM:  43

 PSALM:  43

Judge me, O Elohim, and plead my cause against an impious nation; O deliver me from the deceitful and the unjust!
2 For You are the Elohim of my strength; why have You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; let them bring me unto Your holy hill, and to Your habitation.
4 Then I will go unto the altar of Elohim, unto El my exceeding joy; yes, upon the harp I will praise You, O Elohim, my Elohim.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you troubled within me? Hope in Elohim, for I shall yet praise Him; the deliverance of my countenance and my Elohim.

PSALM:  44

PSALM:  44

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, instructions for the sons of Korah:
We have heard with our ears, O Elohim; our fathers have told us the work You did in their days; in the times of old.
2 You did drive out the heathen with Your own hand, and planted them; You did afflict the peoples, and cast them out.
3 For they did not receive the land as a possession by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them, but Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them.
4 You are my King, O Elohim; command deliverance for Jacob.
5 Through You we will push down our enemies; through Your Name we will tread them under, who rise up against us.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, nor will my sword save me.
7 But You have saved us from our enemies, and have put them to shame who hated us.
8 In Elohim we boast all day long, and we give thanks to Your Name forever.  Selah.
9 But You have cast us off, and put us to shame; and go not forth with our armies.
10 You make us to turn back from the enemy, and those who hate us take spoil for themselves.
11 You have given us like sheep for meat, and have scattered us among the masses.
12 You sell Your people for nothing, and do not increase Your wealth by their price.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors; a scorn and a derision to those round about us.
14 You make us a byword among the masses, a shaking of the head among the people.
15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,
16 for the voice of those who reproach and blaspheme, by reason of the enemy and the avenger.
17 All this has come upon us, but we have not forgotten You, neither have we dealt falsely with Your covenant.
18 Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps bent from Your way,
19 even though You have oppressed us in a place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 If we have forgotten the Name of our Elohim, or stretched out our hands to a strange el,
21 will not Elohim search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart.
22 Yet for Your sake we are killed all day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Awake, why do You sleep, O Adonay? Arise, do not cast us off forever.
24 Why do You hide Your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaves to the earth.
26 Rise up for our help, and redeem us for the sake of Your mercy.

PSALM:  45

PSALM:  45

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, with trumpets; for the sons of Korah, a Song of love:
My heart is gushing with a good matter; I speak of the things which I have made touching the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 You are fairer than the children of men; grace is poured through Your lips, therefore Elohim has blessed You forever.
3 Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O most Mighty, with Your glory and Your majesty.
4 And in Your majesty, ride prosperously, because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and Your right hand shall teach You terrible things.
5 Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies, and the people fall under You.
6 Your throne, O Elohim, is forever and ever; the scepter of Your kingdom is a righteous scepter.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness, therefore Elohim, Your Elohim, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.
8 All Your garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia; out of the ivory palaces have they made You glad.
9 Kings’ daughters are among Your honorable women; at Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
10 Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear; forget also your people and your father’s house,
11 that the King may greatly desire your beauty, for He is your Adonay, and you shall worship Him.
12 And the daughter of Tyre will be there with a gift; even the rich among the people will entreat Your favor.
13 The King’s daughter is all glorious within; her clothing is wrought with gold.
14 She will be brought unto the King in raiment of needlework.  The virgins, her companions who follow her, will be brought unto You.
15 With gladness and rejoicing they will be brought, and they will enter into the King’s palace.
16 Instead of your fathers will be your children, whom You may make princes in all the earth.
17 I will make Your Name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the people praise You forever and ever!

PSALM:  46

PSALM:  46

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; for the sons of Korah, a song in Soprano:
Elohim is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble,
2 therefore we will not fear; though the earth be altered, and though the mountains be cast into the midst of the sea,
3 and though the waters thereof roar and pitch, and though the mountains undulate with the swelling thereof.  Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams of which shall make glad the city of Elohim; the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
5 Elohim is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; Elohim will help her, bright and early.
6 The masses raged, the kingdoms were moved.  He uttered His voice, and the earth melted.
7 YEHOWAH of hosts is with us; the Elohim of Jacob is our refuge.  Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of YEHOWAH; what desolations He has made in the earth.
9 He makes wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear asunder; He burns the chariots in the fire.
10 “Be still, and know that I am Elohim; I will be exalted among the masses, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 YEHOWAH of hosts is with us; the Elohim of Jacob is our refuge.  Selah.

PSALM:  47

PSALM:  47

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm for the sons of Korah:
O clap your hands, all you people; shout unto Elohim with the voice of triumph.
2 For YEHOWAH Most High is terrible; a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the masses under our feet.
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah.
5 Elohim has gone up with a shout; YEHOWAH, with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to Elohim, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For Elohim is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding.
8 Elohim reigns over the masses; Elohim sits upon the throne of His holiness.
9 The princes of the people are assembled together; even the people of the Elohim of Abraham, for the shields of the earth belong unto Elohim; He is greatly exalted.

PSALM:  48

PSALM:  48

Psalms: Instructions  A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah:
Great is YEHOWAH, and greatly to be praised in the city of our Elohim; in the mountain of His holiness.
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 Elohim is known in her palaces for a refuge.
4 For, lo, the kings were assembled; they passed by together;
5 they saw it, and so they marveled; they were troubled, and hastened away.
6 Panic took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
7 You break the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of YEHOWAH of hosts; in the city of our Elohim.   Elohim will establish her forever.  Selah.
9 We have thought of Your loving-kindness, O Elohim, in the midst of Your temple.
10 According to Your Name, O Elohim, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Let Mount Zion rejoice; let the daughters of Yehudah be glad, because of Your judgments.
12 Walk about Zion and go round about her; number the towers therein;
13 mark well her bulwarks; consider her palaces, that you may tell it to the generation following,
14 for this Elohim is our Elohim forever and ever.  He will be our guide until death.

PSALM:  49

PSALM:  49

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, a Psalm for the sons of Korah:
Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world,
2 both low and high, rich and poor together.
3 My mouth will speak of wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will be of understanding.
4 I will incline my ear to a parable; I will open my dark saying upon the harp:
5 Why should I fear in days of evil, when the iniquity of my foes shall encompass me;
6 even they who trust in their wealth and boast of themselves in the multitude of their riches?
7 None of them can by any means redeem their brethren, nor give to Elohim a ransom for them,
8 for the redemption of their soul is precious, that redemption will cease forever,
9 that they should not live forever, and not see corruption.
10 For he sees that the wise die; likewise the fool and the stupid, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is that their families are forever; and their dwelling places to all generations, and they call their lands after their own names.
12 Nevertheless, the wealth of humanity continues not; it is like the beasts that perish.
13 This is their way and their folly, yet their posterity approves their sayings.  Selah.
14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed upon them, and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning, and their refuge shall fail in the grave, and they shall have no place to dwell.
15 But Elohim will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He will receive me. Selah.
16 Be not afraid when one is made rich; when the glory of their house is increased,
17 for when they die they will carry nothing away; their glory will not descend after them.
18 Though while they lived they blessed their soul, and will praise you when you do well for yourself,
19 they will go to the generation of their fathers; they will never see the light.
20 Humanity in wealth understands nothing, and are like the beasts that perish.

PSALM:  50

 PSALM:  50

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of Asaph:
El, Elohim YEHOWAH has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, Elohim has shined.
3 Our Elohim shall come and not keep silent; a fire shall devour before Him, and it will be very tempestuous round about Him.
4 He will call to the heavens above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people.
5 “Gather My saints together unto Me; those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens will declare His righteousness, for Elohim is judge Himself.  Selah.
7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you.  I am Elohim, your Elohim.
8 I will not reprove you for your sacrifices, or your burnt offerings, which were to have been continually before Me.
9 I will take no bullock out of your house nor goats out of your folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine; the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all of the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and the fullness of it.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto Elohim thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High,
15 and call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”
16 But unto the wicked Elohim says, “What have you to do to declare My statutes, or that you should even take My covenant in your mouth?
17 Seeing as you hate correction, and cast My words behind you.
18 When you see a thief, and consent with him, and have been a partaker with adulterers,
19 and you give your mouth to evil and your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.
21 These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought that I was altogether such a one as you, but I will reprove you, and set them in order before your eyes.
22 Now consider this, you who forget Eloah, unless I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me, and to those who order their course aright, I will show the deliverance of Elohim.”

PSALM:  51

PSALM:  51

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba:
Have mercy upon me, O Elohim, according to Your loving-kindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies, blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against You; You only, I have sinned and done evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and innocent when You judge.
5 Behold, I was borne in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.
6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward thoughts, and in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones which You have broken may rejoice.
9 Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O Elohim, and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of Your deliverance, and bear me up with a noble spirit,
13 and I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be turned back unto You.
14 Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O Elohim, the Elohim of my deliverance, and my tongue will sing aloud for the joy of Your righteousness.
15 O Adonay, open my lips, that my mouth may speak forth Your praise,
16 for You desire not sacrifice, or else I would give it, and You delight not in burnt offering.
17 The sacrifices of Elohim are a broken spirit.  A broken and a contrite heart, O Elohim, You will not despise.
18 Do good in Your good pleasure unto Zion.  Build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then will You be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness; with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then they shall offer bullocks upon Your altar.

PSALM:  52

PSALM:  52

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a poem of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech:”
Why boast of yourself in evil, O mighty man? The kindness of El is perpetual.
2 Your tongue devises wickedness, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 You love evil more than good; lying rather than to speak righteousness.  Selah.
4 You love all devouring words, O deceitful tongue.
5 El will likewise destroy you forever; He will lay hold of you, and pluck you from your homes, and root you out of the land of the living.  Selah.
6 The righteous will see and revere, and will laugh at him,
7 “Lo, they who would not make Elohim their strength, but trusted in the abundance of their riches; strengthened in their wickedness.”
8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of Elohim.  I trust in the mercy of Elohim forever and ever.
9 I will praise You forever, because You have done it, and I will wait upon Your Name for good before Your saints.

PSALM:  53

PSALM:  53

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; softly, a poem of David:
The fool has said in their heart, “There is no Elohim.”  Corrupt are they, committing abominable iniquity.  None do good!
2 Elohim looks down from heaven upon the children of mankind, to see if there are any who understand; who seeks Elohim.
3 Every one of them is gone back; they have altogether become filthy; none do good; no, not one.
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge; who eat up My people as they eat bread, and have not called upon Elohim?
5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was, for Elohim has scattered the bones of those who encamp against you.  You have put them to shame, because Elohim has despised them.
6 Oh, that the deliverance of Israel would come out of Zion!  When Elohim brings back the captivity of His people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.

PSALM:  54

PSALM:  54

Psalms: Instructions  For the chief musician; on stringed instruments, a Psalm of David when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Does not David hide himself with us?”
Save me, O Elohim, by Your Name, and judge me by Your strength.
2 Hear my prayer, O Elohim; give ear to the words of my mouth,
3 for strangers have risen against me and oppressors seek after my soul; they have not set Elohim before them.  Selah.
4 Behold, Elohim is my helper; Adonay is with them that uphold my soul.
5 He will reward evil unto my enemies, and cut them off in Your truth.
6 I will freely sacrifice unto You; I will praise Your Name, O YEHOWAH, for it is good.
7 For He has delivered me from all trouble, and my eye has looked with satisfaction upon my enemies.

PSALM:  55

PSALM:  55

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; on stringed instruments, a poem; a Psalm of David:
Give ear to my prayer, O Elohim, and hide not Yourself from my supplication.
2 Attend unto me, and hear me.  I mourn in my complaint and make a noise,
3 because of the voice of the enemy; because of the oppression of the wicked, for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.
4 My heart is pained within me, and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.
5 Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me,
6 and I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest;
7 lo, I would wander far off, and remain in the wilderness.  (Selah)
8 I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.”
9 Destroy, O Adonay, and divide their tongues, for I have seen violence and strife in the city;
10 day and night they go about it upon the walls; mischief also, and sorrow are in the midst of it.
11 Wickedness is in the midst of it; deceit and guile depart not from her streets.
12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me, then I could have borne it, nor was it one who hated me, then I would have hid myself from them.
13 But it was you, a man my equal; my guide, and my acquaintance.
14 We took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of Elohim in company.
15 Let death seize upon them; and let them go down living into hell, for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.
16 As for me, I shall call upon Elohim, and YEHOWAH will save me.
17 Evening and morning and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud, and He will hear my voice.
18 He has delivered my soul in peace from the battle against me, for there were many with me.
19 El will hear and afflict them, even they that abide of old.  (Selah)  Because they do not change, they revere not Elohim.
20 He has put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him; he has broken his covenant.
21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart.  His words were softer than oil; his speech was smoother than butter, yet they had drawn swords.
22 Cast your burden upon YEHOWAH and He will sustain you; He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.
23 But You, O Elohim, will bring them down into the pit of destruction; bloody and deceitful men will not live out half their days.  But I will trust in You.

PSALM:  56

PSALM:  56

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, with innocence; a poem of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath:
Be merciful unto me, O Elohim, for humanity has trampled upon me.  Fighting daily they  oppress me.
2 My enemies would daily swallow me up, for they are many that fight against me, O You most High.
3 At the time I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.
4 In Elohim I will praise His word; in Elohim I have put my trust.  I will not fear what flesh can do to me.
5 All day long they distort my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 They gather themselves together; they hide themselves; they mark my steps when they wait for my soul.
7 Shall they escape by iniquity? In Your anger cast down the people, O Elohim.
8 You tell in my wanderings, “Put your tears into your bottle”.  Are they not in the book?
9 When I cry unto You, then shall my enemies turn back; this I know, for Elohim is for me.
10 In Elohim, will I praise His word.  In YEHOWAH, will I praise His word.
11 In Elohim I have put my trust; I will not be afraid.  What can man do to me?
12 Your vows are upon me, O Elohim; I will render praises unto You,
13 for You have delivered my soul from death; will You not deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before Elohim in the light of the living?

PSALM:  57

PSALM:  57

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, destroy not; a poem of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave:
Be merciful unto me, O Elohim, be merciful unto me, for my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings will I take refuge until calamity passes.
2 I will cry unto Elohim Most High; to El Who performs all things for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me from the reproach of him who would devour me.  Selah.  Elohim will send forth His mercy and His truth.
4 My soul is among lions; I lie among those who are set on fire; even the children of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows, and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Be exalted, O Elohim, above the heavens; Your glory above all the earth.
6 They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down; they have dug a pit before me, into the midst of which they are fallen themselves.  Selah.
7 My heart is fixed, O Elohim; my heart is fixed.  I will sing and give praises.
8 Wake up, my glory!  Wake up, lyre and harp.  I will wake up early,
9 and I will praise You, O Adonay, among the people.  I will sing unto You among the nations.
10 For Your mercy is great unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds.
11 Be exalted, O Elohim, above the heavens; Your glory above all the earth.

PSALM:  58

PSALM:  58

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, destroy not; an engraving of David:
Do you indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? Do you judge uprightly, O you children of men?
2 Yes, in heart you work wickedness; you weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf adder that stops up her ear,
5 which will not hear the voice of charmers, who charm ever so wisely.
6 Break their teeth, O Elohim, in their mouth; break out the great teeth of the young lions, O YEHOWAH.
7 Let them melt away as waters that run continually.  When they bend their bow to shoot their arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
8 As a snail that melts, let every one of them pass away; like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, He will take them away as with a whirlwind; both living and those in His wrath.
10 The righteous will rejoice when they see the vengeance; He will wash His feet in the blood of the wicked,
11 so that all will say, “Verily, there is a reward for the righteous; verily, He is the Elohim that judges the earth!”

PSALM:  59

PSALM:  59

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, destroy not; an engraving of David, when Saul sent, and watched the house to kill him:
Deliver me from my enemies, O my Elohim; defend me from those that rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men,
3 for lo, they lie in wait for my soul.  The mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O YEHOWAH.
4 They run and prepare themselves without fault.  Awake to help me, and behold.
5 You therefore, O YEHOWAH Elohim of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen; be not merciful to any wicked transgressors.  Selah.
6 They return at evening, they make noise like dogs, and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips, for who hears?
8 But You, O YEHOWAH, will laugh at them; You will have all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of their strength, I will wait upon You, for Elohim is my defense.
10 The Elohim of mercy shall protect me.  Elohim will let me see my desire upon my enemies.
11 Slay then not, unless my people forget; scatter them by Your power, and bring them down, O Adonay our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride, and for cursing and lying, which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath; consume them that they may not be, and let them know that Elohim rules in Jacob unto the ends of the earth.  Selah.
14 And at evening let them return, and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they are not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of Your power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning, for You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto You, O my strength, I will sing, for Elohim is my defense and the Elohim of my mercy.

PSALM:  60

PSALM:  60

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, with Trumpets; a poem of David to teach, when he struggled with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah; when Yehab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt, twelve thousand:
O Elohim, You have cast us off; You have scattered us; You have been displeased with us; rejected us.  You have broken us; You have been angry.  O, turn Yourself to us again.
2 You have made the earth to tremble; You have broken it.  Heal the breaches thereof, for it wavers.
3 You have shown Your people hard things;  You have made us drink wine of trembling.
4 You have given a banner to those who fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth.  Selah.
5 That Your beloved may be delivered, save with Your right hand, and hear me!
6 Elohim has spoken in His holiness, “I will rejoice; I will divide Shekem and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the strength of My head; Yehudah is My lawgiver.
8 Moab is My washbowl; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; O Philistia, shout for joy, because of Me!”
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom?
10 Have not You, O Elohim, cast us off? And You, O Elohim, did not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.
12 Through Elohim we shall do valiantly, for He it is that shall tread down our enemies.

PSALM:  61

PSALM:  61

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, upon a stringed instrument; a Psalm of David:
Hear my cry, O Elohim; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto You, when my heart is overwhelmed.  Lead me to the Rock that is higher than I,
3 for You have been a shelter for me; a strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the protection of Your wings. Selah.
5 For You, O Elohim, have heard my vows; You have given me the heritage of those that fear Your Name.
6 You will prolong the king’s life; his years as many generations.
7 He will abide before Elohim forever.  O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
8 So will I sing praise to Your Name forever, that I may daily pay my vows.

PSALM:  62

PSALM:  62

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Psalm of confession from David:
Surely, my soul waits upon Elohim only; from Him comes my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation; my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will you imagine mischief against another, that you may all kill them? You are as a bowing wall or a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast them down from their excellency.  They delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly.  Selah.
5 My soul, wait only upon Elohim, for my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my rock and my deliverer, my defense; I shall not be moved.
7 In Elohim is my salvation and my glory.  The rock of my strength; my refuge is in Elohim.
8 Trust in Him at all times, people; pour out your heart before Him; Elohim is a refuge for us.  Selah.
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie; in the balances they are altogether vanity.
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery.  If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.
11 Elohim has spoken once; twice I have heard this:  That power belongs to Elohim.
12 Also unto You, Oh Adonay, belong mercy, for You render to every person according to their work.

PSALM:  63

PSALM:  63

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Yehudah:
O Elohim, You are my El.  At dawn will I seek You, for my soul thirsts for You; my flesh yearns for You in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 To see Your power and Your glory; thus I have seen You in the sanctuary,
3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.
4 Thus will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your Name.
5 My soul is satisfied as marrow and fatness, and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips.
6 When I remember You on my bed, and meditate on You in the night watches,
7 because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I rejoice.
8 My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me,
9 but those who seek my soul to destroy it, will go into the lower parts of the earth.
10 They will fall by the sword; they will be a portion for foxes.
11 But the king will rejoice in Elohim; everyone who swears by Him will glory, for the mouth of those that speak lies will be stopped.

PSALM:  64

PSALM:  64

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Psalm of David:
Hear my voice, O Elohim, in my prayer; preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the company of the workers of evil,
3 who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows and arrows in bitter words,
4 to shoot in secret at the upright.  Suddenly they shoot at them, and fear not;
5 they strengthen themselves in an evil matter; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, “Who can see them?”
6 They search for perversion and accomplish their diligent search.  Both the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep,
7 but Elohim will shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they will be wounded,
8 so they will make their own tongue fall upon themselves, and all who see them will flee.
9 And all men will fear, and will declare the work of Elohim, and will consider His doing.
10 The righteous will be glad in YEHOWAH, and will trust in Him; and all the upright in heart will glory.

PSALM:  65

PSALM:  65

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Psalm and song of David:
Praise waits upon You in Zion, O Elohim, and to You the vow will be fulfilled.
2 O You Who hear prayer, to You all flesh come.
3 Iniquities prevail against us, yet You shall make an atonement for our transgressions.
4 Blessed are they whom You choose, and cause to approach You, that they may dwell in Your courts.  We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house; Your holy temple.
5 By fearful things in righteousness You answer us, O Elohim of our deliverance; You Who are the assurance to all the ends of the earth, and to those that are far off across the sea;
6 Who by His strength erected the mountains, girded with power;
7 Who stills the noise of the seas; the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.
8 They that dwell in the uttermost parts fear Your signs; You make the dawn of the morning and the sunset rejoice;
9 You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it from the river of Elohim, which is full of water.  You prepare their grain, for You have provided for it.
10 You water its ridges abundantly; You settle its furrows; You make it soft with showers; You bless its growth.
11 You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness, and the hills rejoice on every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered with grain; they shout for joy; they also sing.

PSALM:  66

PSALM:  66

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Song; a Psalm:
Make a joyful noise unto Elohim, all the lands.
2 Sing forth the honor of His Name; make His praise glorious.
3 Say to Elohim, “How fearful are Your works!  Through the greatness of Your power shall Your enemies submit themselves unto You.
4 All the earth will worship You, and will sing unto You; they will sing to Your Name.” Selah.
5 Come and see the works of Elohim; fearful works toward the children of men.
6 He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot; there did we rejoice in Him!
7 He rules by His power forever; His eyes behold the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves.  Selah.
8 O Bless our Elohim, you people, and make the voice of His praise be heard,
9 Who holds our soul in life, and ordains that our feet not be moved.
10 For You, O Elohim, have examined us; You have refined us as silver is refined.
11 You brought us into the net; You laid affliction upon our loins.
12 You made men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but You brought us out into a wealthy place.
13 I will come into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows,
14 which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken, when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer unto You burnt offerings of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bulls with goats.  Selah.
16 Come and hear, all who fear Elohim, and I will declare what He has done for my soul.
17 I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue.
18 If I regard wickedness in my heart, Adonay will not hear me,
19 but truly Elohim has heard.  He has given regard to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be Elohim, Who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me.

PSALM:  67

PSALM:  67

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, with stringed instruments; a Psalm or Song:
Elohim be merciful unto us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us;  (Selah)
2 so that Your way may be known upon the earth; Your deliverance among all nations.
3 Let the people praise You, O Elohim; let all the people praise You.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy, for You will judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth.  Selah.
5 Let the people praise You, O Elohim; let all the people praise You,
6 that the earth shall yield her increase, and Elohim, our Elohim shall bless us.
7 Elohim shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth will revere Him.

PSALM:  68

PSALM:  68

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Psalm or Song of David:
Let Elohim rise up, let His enemies be scattered, and let those that hate Him flee before Him.
2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish from the face of Elohim.
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before Elohim; yes, let them rejoice with gladness.
4 Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His Name; exalt Him Who rides upon the heavens, Whose Name is YEH, and rejoice before Him.
5 A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows is Elohim in His holy habitation.
6 Elohim dwells in a united house; He leads out the captives into prosperity, but the rebellious He makes to dwell in a dry land.
7 O Elohim, when You went forth before Your people; when You marched through the wilderness, (Selah)
8 the earth shook; the heavens also dropped rain at the presence of Elohim.  Sinai itself moved in the presence of Elohim; the Elohim of Israel.
9 You, O Elohim, sent an abundant rain, thereby establishing Your inheritance when it was weary.
10 Your creatures dwelt therein; You, O Elohim, prepared from Your goodness for the poor.
11 Adonay gave the word, and great is the host that proclaimed,
12 “Kings of armies flee; they did flee, and they who remained at home divided the spoil!”
13 Though You lie down among the stalls, You are as the wings of a dove covered in silver, with feathers of yellow gold.
14 When the Almighty scattered the kings there, it was as snow in Zalmon.
15 The hill of Elohim is as the hill of Bashan; a high hill is the hill of Bashan.
16 Why be jealous O mountains, with the hill in which Elohim desires to dwell? Surely YEHOWAH will dwell there forever.
17 The chariots of Elohim are a myriad of thousands upon thousands; Adonay is among them, in Sinai; in holiness.
18 You have ascended on high; You have carried away Your captives; You have received gifts of mankind, yes, of the rebellious also, that YEH Elohim might dwell among them.
19 Blessed be Adonay, Who daily bears us; the El Who is our deliverance. Selah.
20 Our El is the El of deliverance, and in YEHOWAH Adonay is deliverance from death.
21 Surely Elohim will crush the head of His enemies; the bristling scalp of one as goes on still in their sins.
22 Adonay said, “I will bring them back from Bashan.  I will bring My people again from the depths of the sea,
23 that your foot may be dipped in the blood of your enemies, and the tongue of your dogs in the same.”
24 They have seen Your going, O Elohim; the going of my El, my King, in the sanctuary.
25 The singers went before, the musicians after, and in their midst were the maidens playing with timbrels.
26 Bless you Elohim in the congregations; even YEHOWAH from the fountain of Israel.
27 There is little Benyehmin their ruler; the princes of Yehudah and their council; the princes of Zebulun; the princes of Naphtali.
28 Your Elohim has commanded your strength; strengthen, O Elohim, that which You have done for us.
29 Because of Your temple at Jerusalem will kings bring presents to You.
30 Rebuke the beasts of the reeds; the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, and trample the pieces of silver, and scatter the people who delight in war.
31 Princes will come out of Egypt; Cush will hastily stretch out their hands unto Elohim.
32 Sing to Elohim, O kingdoms of the earth, O sing praises unto Adonay.  Selah
33 To Him Who rides upon the heavens of heavens; of antiquity, behold, He speaks forth His voice; a mighty voice.
34 Ascribe strength unto Elohim. His majesty is over Israel and His strength is in the clouds.
35 O Elohim, be revered in Your holy place.  The El of Israel is He that gives strength and power to the people.  Blessed be Elohim!

PSALM:  69

PSALM:  69

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, upon a Trumpet; a Psalm of David:
Save me, O Elohim, for the waters have come in unto my soul.
2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I am come into deep waters, where the flood overflows me.
3 I am weary of my crying; my throat burns; my eyes fail while I wait for my Elohim.
4 Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head; those who would destroy me, my enemies wrongfully, are mighty, and I restore that which I did not take away.
5 O Elohim, You know my foolishness, and my sins are not hidden from You.
6 Let not those that wait on You, O Adonay YEHOWAH of hosts, be ashamed for my sake. Let not those that seek You be confounded through me, O Elohim of Israel,
7 because for Your sake I have borne reproach; shame has covered my face.
8 I have become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to my mother’s children.
9 For the zeal of Your house consumes me, and the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen upon me.
10 When I wept, and humbled my soul with fasting, it became a reproach upon me.
11 When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a proverb to them.
12 Those who sit in the gate speak against me, and I am the song of the drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is to You, O YEHOWAH, in an acceptable time; O Elohim, in the abundance of Your mercy hear me; in the truth of Your deliverance,
14 deliver me from the mire, and let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15 Let not the flood of water overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.
16 Hear me, O YEHOWAH, for Your loving-kindness is good; turn unto me according to the abundance of Your tender mercy,
17 and hide not Your face from Your servant, for I am in trouble.  Hear me speedily.
18 Draw near unto my soul and redeem it; deliver me because of my enemies!
19 You know my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor; my adversaries are all before You.
20 Reproach has broken my heart, and I am distressed.  And I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me also gall for my meat, and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them, and that which was to be for their welfare, become a trap.
23 Let t: heir eyes be darkened, so that they may not see, and make their loins shake continually.
24 Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate, and let none dwell in their tents,
26 for they persecute whom You have smitten, and they talk to the grief of those whom You have wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity, and let them not come into Your righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be recorded with the righteous.
29 But I am afflicted and sorrowful.  Let Your salvation, O Elohim, set me on high.
30 I will praise the Name of Elohim with a song, and magnify Him with thanksgiving,
31 and please YEHOWAH, better than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.
32 The humble shall see and be glad, and your heart shall live who seek Elohim.
33 For YEHOWAH hears the poor, and despises not the prisoners.
34 Let heaven and earth praise Him; the seas and everything that moves in them,
35 for Elohim will save Zion, and will build the cities of Yehudah, that they may dwell there and possess it.
36 The seed of His servants will inherit it, and those that love His Name will dwell in it.

PSALM:  70

PSALM:  70

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician; a Psalm of David to bring remembrance:
O Elohim, deliver me; make hast to help me, O YEHOWAH.
2 Let them be ashamed and confounded who seek after my soul; let them be turned back and put to shame who desire my hurt.
3 Let them be turned back in shame as reward that say, “Aha, aha!”
4 Let all that seek You rejoice and be glad in You, and let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let Elohim be magnified.”
5 But I am poor and needy; hasten unto me, O Elohim! You are my help and my deliverer.  O YEHOWAH, tarry not.

PSALM:  71a name=”71″>

PSALM:  <71

In You, O YEHOWAH, I do put my trust.  Let me never be put in confusion.
2 Deliver me in Your righteousness, and carry me to safety.  Incline Your ear unto me and save me.
3 Be unto me a strong habitation, to Whom I may continually resort, for You have given commandment to save me; for You are my rock and my fortress.
4 Carry me away, O my Elohim, out of the hand of the wicked; out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel,
5 for You are my hope, O Adonay YEHOWAH; my trust from my youth.
6 By You I have been sustained from the womb.  You are He Who took me from my mother’s womb.  My praise is continually of You.
7 I am a wonder to many, but You are my strong refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled with Your praise, and with Your glory all the day.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails,
10 for my enemies speak against me, and they who wait for my soul take counsel together,
11 saying, “Elohim has forsaken him.  Pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver.”
12 O Elohim, be not far from me; O my Elohim, make haste for my help!
13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, that seek my hurt.
14 But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.
15 My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your deliverance all the day, for I know not their numbers.
16 I will go in the strength of Adonay YEHOWAH, and I will make mention of Your righteousness; Yours only.
17 O Elohim, You have taught me from my youth, and till now I have declared Your wondrous works.
18 Now also, when I am old and gray, O Elohim, forsake me not, until I have shown Your strength to this generation, and Your power to everyone that is to come;
19 Your righteousness also, O Elohim, reaches from the heavens, for You Who have done great things, O Elohim, who is like You?
20 You Who have shown me many great troubles, quicken me again, and bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
21 Increase my greatness and comfort me round about.
22 I will also praise You with a lyre.  Your truth, O my Elohim; unto You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips will greatly rejoice when I sing unto You, and my soul, which You have redeemed.
24 My tongue also will talk of Your righteousness all the day long, for they are confounded; for they are brought to shame that seek my hurt.

PSALM:  72

PSALM:  72

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm for Solomon:
Give the king Your judgments, O Elohim, and Your righteousness unto the king’s son.
2 He shall judge Your people with righteousness, and Your poor with justice.
3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the hills, by righteousness.
4 He will judge the poor of the people.  He shall save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor.
5 Let them fear You as long as the sun and moon endure; throughout all generations.
6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.
7 In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.
8 He shall also have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the islands shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.
11 Yes, all kings shall bow down before him; all nations shall serve him,
12 for he will deliver the needy when they cry for help; the poor also, and they who have no helper.
13 He will be compassionate to the poor and needy, and will save the souls of the needy.
14 He will redeem their soul from deceit and violence, and precious shall be their blood in his sight.
15 And he shall live, and to him shall the gold of Sheba be given.  Prayer also shall be made for him continually, and daily shall he be praised.
16 There shall be a handful of grain in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit of it shall shake like Lebanon, and the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.
17 His name shall endure forever.  His name shall continue as long as the sun, and in him shall the people be blessed; all the nations will call him blessed.
18 Blessed be YEHOWAH Elohim, the Elohim of Israel, Who alone does wondrous things.
19 And blessed be His glorious Name forever.  And may the whole earth be filled with His glory.  Amen, and Amen.
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

PSALM:  73

PSALM:  73

Psalms: Instructions  A Psalm of Asaph:
Surely Elohim is good to Israel; to those that are of a clean heart!
2 But as for me, my journey was almost perverted; my steps had almost slipped,
3 for I was envious of the glory as I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For there are no pains in their death, and their body is plump.
5 They are not in trouble as others, nor are they plagued like mankind.
6 Therefore pride encompasses them as a necklace, and unrighteousness covers them as a garment.
7 Their eyes bulge from fatness, and they have more than the heart could wish.
8 They are corrupt and speak of oppression; they speak loftily.
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongues wag throughout the earth.
10 Therefore people return to this place, and waters in full are squeezed out for them,
11 and they say, “How does El know? And is there knowledge that is Supreme?”
12 Behold, these are the wicked, and they prosper in the world; they increase riches.
13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence,
14 for I have been plagued all day long and chastened every morning.
15 If I say, “I will speak thus,” behold, I would have dealt deceitfully with the generation of Your children.
16 When I sought to know this, it too was painful for me
17 until I went into the sanctuary of El.  Then I understood their end.
18 Surely You set them in slippery places, and You cast them down into destruction.
19 How they are made desolate, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors!
20 As a dream when one awakes, O Adonay, when You awake, You will despise their vanity.
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and in my mind I was pierced,
22 and I was foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with You.  You have taken hold of my right hand.
24 You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in the heavens? And there is none upon earth I desire beside You.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but Elohim is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 For, behold, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who go whoring from You.
28 But it is good for me to draw near unto Elohim.  I have put my trust in Adonay YEHOWAH, that I may declare all Your works.

PSALM:  74

PSALM:  74

Psalms: Instructions  A poem of Asaph:
O Elohim, why have You forsaken us forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?
2 Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old; the branch of Your inheritance, which You have redeemed; this Mount Zion, wherein You dwell.
3 Lift up Your feet toward the perpetual desolations; the enemy has done wickedly in the sanctuary.
4 Your enemies roar in the midst of Your assembly; they have set their own marks as signs.
5 Regard was accorded as one lifted up stricken upon thick trees,
6 but now they break down the carved work of it with axes and hammers,
7 and they have burned Your sanctuary to the ground, and have defiled the dwelling place of Your Name.
8 They say in their hearts, “Let us destroy them altogether.”  They have burned all the synagogues of El in the land.
9 We see not the signs; there is no more any prophet, nor is there any among us who knows how long.
10 O Elohim, how long will the adversary blaspheme, and the enemy despise Your Name forever?
11 Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? From Your bosom destroy them!
12 But Elohim is my King from of old, working deliverance in the midst of the earth.
13 You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the monsters in the waters.
14 You crushed the heads of Leviathan, and gave him as meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
15 You broke open the fountains of the flood; You dried up the mighty rivers.
16 The day is Yours, the night also; You have made the light and the sun.
17 You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter
18 Remember this, the enemy has blasphemed, O YEHOWAH, and a foolish people have despised Your Name.
19 Deliver not the soul of Your turtledove unto the multitude; forget not the multitude of Your poor forever.
20 Regard the covenant, for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
21 O Let not the oppressed return ashamed; let the poor and needy praise Your Name.
22 Rise up, O Elohim, and plead Your own cause; remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily,
23 and forget not the voice of Your enemies.  The uproar of those who rise up against You ascends continually.

PSALM:  75

PSALM:  75

Psalms: Instructions  To the chief musician, “Thou must not destroy”; a Psalm or song of Asaph:
Unto You, O Elohim, do we give thanks; do we give thanks.  For Your Name is near.  Your wondrous works declare,
2 “When I take the assembly, I will judge uprightly.
3 The earth and all who dwell therein will disappear, for it is I Who measured out the pillars of it.  Selah.
4 I said to the foolish, ‘Act not foolishly,’ and to the wicked, ‘Lift not up the horn;
5 lift not up your horn on high, and speak not with arrogance.’”
6 For exaltation comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south,
7 but Elohim is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.
8 For in the hand of YEHOWAH is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture, and He pours out of the same.  But the dregs of it; all the wicked of the earth shall drink of it.
9 But I will proclaim it forever; I will sing praises to the Elohim of Jacob.
10 “All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted”.
