Psalm 1

Blessed are they who do not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful!
2 But their delight is in the Law of YEHOWAH, and in His Law they meditate day and night.
3 And they shall be like a tree planted by streams of water, which yield its fruit in its season, and whose leaf does not wither; and whatever they do shall prosper.
4 The wicked are not so, but are like chaff which the wind drives away.
5 Therefore the wicked will not stand in the judgment; nor sinners in the congregation of the righteous.
6 For YEHOWAH knows the way of the righteous, but the way of the wicked will perish.

Psalm 2

Why do the nations rage and the people speak with vanity?
2 The kings of the earth set themselves and the rulers take counsel together against YEHOWAH and against His Messiah, saying,
3 “Let us tear off their bonds and cast away their bands from us!”
4 He who dwells in the heavens laughs; YEHOWAH holds them in contempt.
5 Then He will declare to them in His anger and terrify them in His fierce wrath, saying,
6 “I have set My King upon Zion, My holy mountain.”
7 “I will surely tell the decree; YEHOWAH said to me, ‘You are My Son, today I have begotten You.
8 Ask of Me, and I will give the nations as Your inheritance, and to the ends of the earth as Your possession.
9 You shall break them with a rod of iron, You shall shatter them like a potter’s vessel.'”
10 And now, O kings, be wise.  Be instructed, you judges of the earth.
11 Serve YEHOWAH with reverence and rejoice with trembling.
12 Embrace the Son, lest He become angry, and you perish in the way, for His wrath will soon be kindled.  Blessed are all who hope in Him!

Psalm 3

A Psalm of David, when he fled from Absalom his son:
O YEHOWAH, how my adversaries have multiplied!  Many rise up against me.
2 Many say of my soul, “There is no deliverance for him in Elohim.” (Selah).
3 But You, O YEHOWAH, are a shield about me: my glory, and the lifter my head.
4 I cried to YEHOWAH with my voice, and He answered me from His holy mountain. (Selah).
5 I lied down and slept; I awoke, for YEHOWAH sustains me.
6 I will not fear many millions of people who have set themselves against me round about.
7 Rise up, O YEHOWAH; save me, my Elohim!  For You shall smite all my enemies on the cheek; and You shall shatter the teeth of the wicked.
8 Deliverance is of YEHOWAH; Your blessings upon Your people! (Selah).

Psalm 4

To the chief musician, on stringed instruments, a Psalm of David:
Respond to me when I call, O Elohim of my righteousness!  You have enlarged me through my distress; be gracious unto me and hear my prayer.
2 O children of men, how long will My glory be a disgrace, while you love vanity and seek after lies? (Selah).
3 But know that YEHOWAH has set apart the pious for Himself; YEHOWAH hears when I call to Him.
4 Stand in awe, and do not sin; speak in your own heart upon your bed, and be still. (Selah).
5 Offer the sacrifices of righteousness, and trust in YEHOWAH.
6 Many are saying, “Who will show us good?” Lift up the light of Your countenance upon us, O YEHOWAH!
7 You have put gladness in my heart, more than when the grain and new wine abound.
8 In peace I will both lie down and sleep, for You only, O YEHOWAH, make me dwell in safety.

Psalm 5

To the chief musician, upon a flute, a Psalm of David:
Give ear to my words, O YEHOWAH, consider my meditation.
2 Hearken unto the voice of my cry, my King and my Elohim, for unto You I pray.
3 My voice shall You hear in the morning, O YEHOWAH; in the morning I will direct myself to You, and will look up.
4 For You are not an El who takes pleasure in wickedness; neither shall evil dwell with You.
5 The boastful shall not stand before Your eyes; You hate all who practice iniquity.
6 You destroy those who teach lies; YEHOWAH abhors those of bloodshed and deceit.
7 But as for me, I will come into Your house by the abundance of Your loving-kindness, and in reverence will I bow down to Your holy temple.
8 Lead me, O YEHOWAH, in Your righteousness.  Because of my enemies, make Your way straight before me.
9 For there is no faithfulness in their speech; their hearts are perverse.  Their throat is an open grave; they flatter with their tongue.
10 Hold them guilty, O Elohim; by their own counsel let them fall!  Cast them out in the multitude of their transgressions, for they have rebelled against You.
11 But let all that put their hope in You rejoice, let them ever shout for joy; because You cover them; that those who love Your Name may exult in You.
12 For You, YEHOWAH, will bless the righteous, and encompass them with favor, as with a shield.

Psalm 6

To the chief musician; with stringed instruments, upon an eight-string lyre, a Psalm of David:
O YEHOWAH, rebuke me not in Your anger, nor chasten me in Your wrath.
2 Be gracious unto me, O YEHOWAH, for I am weak; heal me, O YEHOWAH, for my body trembles,
3 and my soul is greatly troubled; but You, O YEHOWAH – how long?
4 Return, O YEHOWAH, deliver my soul; save me because of Your lovingkindness.
5 For in death there is no remembrance of You; in hell who will give thanks unto You?
6 I am weary with my groaning; every night I make my bed swim, I water my couch with my tears.
7 My eye is consumed with grief; it has become old because of all my enemies.
8 Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity, for YEHOWAH has heard the voice of my weeping.
9 YEHOWAH has heard my supplication; YEHOWAH receives my prayer.
10 All my enemies will be ashamed and greatly dismayed; they shall turn back, they will suddenly be ashamed.

Psalm 7

A rambling poem of David, which he sang to YEHOWAH concerning the words of Cush, a Benyahminite:
O YEHOWAH my Elohim, in You do I put my trust. Save me from all those who pursue me, and deliver me,
2 lest they tear my soul like a lion, rending it in pieces, while there is none to deliver.
3 O YEHOWAH, my Elohim, if I have done this, if there is iniquity in my hands,
4 if I have rewarded evil to those who were at peace with me; indeed, if I have withdrawn from those who without cause were my enemy,
5 let the enemy pursue my soul, and overtake it, and let them trample my life down to the ground, and lay my glory in the dust. (Selah).
6 Rise up, O YEHOWAH; in Your wrath lift up Yourself against the rage of my enemies, and awaken for me the judgment You have commanded.
7 Let the assembly of the nations encompass You, and over them return on high.
8 YEHOWAH shall direct the people; judge me, O YEHOWAH, according to my righteousness and my integrity, which is in me.
9 O, let the evil of the wicked come to an end, but establish the righteous, for a righteous Elohim tries the hearts and minds.
10 My shield is with Elohim, who saves the upright in heart.
11 Elohim is a righteous judge, an El who is indignant every day.
12 If they do not repent, He has sharpened His sword; He has bent His bow and made it ready;
13 He has also prepared for Himself instruments of death; He makes His arrows burn.
14 Behold, He binds the unrighteous with those who conceive mischief and fabricate lies;
15 He has dug a pit and hollowed it out; that they may fall into the pit that He made;
16 that their mischief will return upon their own head, and their violence will come down upon their own pate.
17 And I will worship YEHOWAH according to His righteousness, and will sing praise to the name of YEHOWAH, Most High.

Psalm 8

To the chief musician, on a harp; a Psalm of David:
O YEHOWAH, our Master, how excellent is Your name in all the earth; who displays Your glory throughout the heavens!
2 Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babes You establish strength, because of Your adversaries, to still the enemy and the punisher.
3 When I see Your heavens; the work of Your fingers; the moon and the stars, which You have established;
4 what is man that You are mindful of them, and the children of man that You care for them?
5 You have made them a little lower than Elohim, and You crown them with glory and majesty!
6 You make them to reign over the works of Your hands; You have put all things under their feet,
7 all sheep and oxen, and also the beasts of the field,
8 the fowl of the sky and the fish of the sea; whatever passes through the paths of the seas.
9 O YEHOWAH, our Master, how mighty is Your name in all the earth!

Psalm 9

To the chief musician, upon the death of a son; a Psalm of David:
I will worship YEHOWAH with all my heart; I will recount all Your wonders.
2 I will be glad and rejoice in You; I will sing forth praises to Your name, O Most High!
3 When my enemies are turned back, they will fall and perish in Your presence,
4 for You have maintained my right and my cause; You sit on the throne judging righteously.
5 You have rebuked the nations; You have destroyed the wicked; You have erased their name forever and ever,
6 and the enemy is consumed in perpetual destruction. You have uprooted the cities; the very memory of them has perished.
7 But YEHOWAH abides forever; He has established His throne for judgment,
8 and He will judge the world in righteousness; He will execute judgment upon the peoples uprightly.
9 And YEHOWAH will be a stronghold for the oppressed, a stronghold in times of trouble;
10 and those who know Your name will put their trust in You, for You, YEHOWAH, have not forsaken those who seek You.
11 Sing praises to YEHOWAH, who dwells in Zion; declare among the people His deeds.
12 When He makes inquisition for bloodshed, He remembers them; He does not forget the cry of the afflicted.
13 Have mercy upon me, O YEHOWAH. See my affliction from those that hate me, You who lift me up from the gates of death,
14 that I may declare all Your praises, that in the gates of the daughter of Zion I may rejoice in Your deliverance.
15 The nations have sunk down in the pit that they have made. In the nets that they hid, their own foot is caught.
16 YEHOWAH is known by the judgment He has executed; the condemned are ensnared by the work of their hands. (Solemn Pause).
17 The condemned shall be turned back to hell; all the nations who forget Elohim.
18 For the needy will not always be forgotten. The hope of the afflicted shall not perish forever.
19 Rise up, O YEHOWAH, do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in Your sight.
20 Put them in fear, O YEHOWAH; let the nations know that they are but men. (Pause).

Psalm 10

Why do You stand far off, O YEHOWAH? Why do You hide in times of trouble?
2 In pride the wicked hotly pursue the afflicted; let them be caught in the plots that they devise.
3 For the wicked boasts of their souls desires, and bless the covetous; and blaspheme YEHOWAH.
4 The wicked, in the height of their anger, do not seek out; all their thoughts are, “There is no Elohim.”
5 Their ways always prosper; Your judgments are on high, out of their sight; and they blow-off all their adversaries.
6 They say in their heart, “I will not be moved; from generation to generation I will not be in adversity.”
7 Their mouth is full of cursing, deceit and oppression, and under their tongue is mischief and vanity.
8 They sit in the lurking places of the villages; in the secret places they kill the innocent, their eyes lurking for the unfortunate.
9 They lie in wait in secret, as a lion in her lair; they lie in wait to catch the afflicted; they catch the afflicted when they draw them into their net.
10 They crouch and bow down, and the unfortunate fall to the strong ones.
11 They say in their heart, “El has forgotten; He has hidden His face; He will never see it.”
12 Rise up, YEHOWAH; O El, lift up Your hand. Do not forget the afflicted.
13 Why then does the wicked blaspheme Elohim? They have said in their heart, “You will not require it!”
14 You have seen; for You have beheld wickedness and anger, and You requite it with Your hand. The unfortunate commit to You, and You have been the helper of the orphan.
15 Break the arm of the wicked and the evil; seek out wickedness until You find none.
16 YEHOWAH is King forever and ever; nations shall perish from His land.
17 O YEHOWAH, You have heard the desire of the afflicted; You will strengthen their heart; You will incline Your ear to hear;
18 to defend the orphan and the afflicted, so that they who are of the earth will oppress no more.

Psalm 11

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
In YEHOWAH I have put my trust; how can you say to my soul, “Flee, bird, to your mountain”?
2 For behold, the wicked bend the bow, they make ready their arrow upon the string; that they may shoot in the darkness at the upright in heart.
3 If the foundations are destroyed, what can the righteous do?”
4 YEHOWAH is in His holy temple; YEHOWAH’S throne is in heaven; His eyes behold, His eyelids try the children of men.
5 YEHOWAH tries the righteous, but the wicked, and the one who loves violence His soul hates.
6 Upon the wicked He will rain snares; fire and brimstone and a horrible tempest will be the portion of their cup.
7 For the righteous YEHOWAH loves righteousness. The upright will behold His face.

Psalm 12

To the chief musician, upon an eight-stringed lyre, a Psalm of David:
Help, YEHOWAH, for the pious cease; the faithful disappear from among the children of men.
2 They speak falsely every one to their neighbor; with flattering lips and a double heart do they speak.
3 YEHOWAH will cut off all flattering lips; and the tongues that speak great things;
4 who have said, “With our tongue we will prevail; our lips are our own; who is lord over us?”
5 “For the devastation of the afflicted; for the crying out of the poor; now will I rise up,” says YEHOWAH; “I will set in safety at whom they puff.”
6 The words of YEHOWAH are pure words; as silver tried in a furnace of earth, refined seven times.
7 You will keep them, O YEHOWAH; You will preserve them from this generation forever.
8 The wicked walk about on every side when the vilest among the children of men are exalted.

Psalm 13

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
How long, O YEHOWAH? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me?
2 How long shall I take counsel in my soul, with sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me?
3 Consider, answer me, O YEHOWAH my Elohim; enlighten my eyes, lest I sleep the sleep of death,
4 and my enemy will say, “I have prevailed against him,” and my adversaries rejoice when I am moved.
5 But I have trusted in Your lovingkindness, and my heart rejoices in Your deliverance.
6 I sing to YEHOWAH, because He has dealt bountifully with me.

Psalm 14

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
The fool says in his heart, “There is no Elohim.” They are corrupt, they do abominable works; none do good.
2 YEHOWAH looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if any understand and seek Elohim.
3 They have all turned aside, together they have become filthy; there are none who do good, not even one.
4 Have all the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and do not call upon YEHOWAH?
5 There were they in great fear. For Elohim is with the generation of the righteous.
6 You have shamed the counsel of the afflicted, but YEHOWAH is their refuge.
7 Oh, that the deliverance of Israel were from Zion! When YEHOWAH brings back His captive people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.

Psalm 15

A Psalm of David:
YEHOWAH, who shall abide in Your tent? Who shall dwell on Your holy hill?
2 They who walk with integrity, and work righteousness and speak the truth in their heart.
3 Who do not slander with their tongue, nor do evil to their neighbor, nor take up a reproach against their friend;
4 in whose eyes a vile person is despised, but who honor those that fear YEHOWAH. Who, if they swear to their own hurt, do not change;
5 who do not put out their money at interest, nor take a bribe against the innocent. Those who do these will never be shaken.

Psalm 16

A Poem of David:
Preserve me, O El, for I trust in You.
2 My soul has said to YEHOWAH, “You are my Master; my goodness extends from You.
3 Of Your holy ones who are on the earth, and the excellent, You have said, “In them is all My delight.”
4 Their sorrows shall be multiplied who hasten after another.  Their drink offerings of blood I will not pour out, nor will I take their names upon my lips.
5 YEHOWAH is the portion of my inheritance and my cup; You maintain my lot.
6 The lines have fallen to me in pleasant places; yes, I have a good heritage.
7 I will bless YEHOWAH who has counseled me; indeed, even in the night my mind instructs me.
8 I have set YEHOWAH continually before me; because He is at my right hand I will not be moved.
9 Therefore, my heart is glad and my glory rejoices; my flesh also shall rest securely.
10 For You will not forsake my soul to hell; nor will You allow Your Holy One to see decay.
11 You will make known to me the path of life; in Your presence is fullness of joy; at Your right hand are pleasures forevermore”.

Psalm 17

A Prayer of David:
Hear the righteous, O YEHOWAH, attend to my cry; give ear to my prayer, which is not from deceitful lips. 2 Let my judgment go out from Your presence; let Your eyes behold things that are equal.
3 You have examined my heart; You have visited me by night; You have refined me and find nothing; I have purposed that my mouth will not transgress.
4 Concerning the works of men, by the word of Your lips I have kept from the paths of the destroyer.
5 Hold up my goings in Your paths, that my feet slip not.
6 I have called upon You, for You will answer me. O El, incline Your ear unto me, hear my speech.
7 Show Your marvelous lovingkindness, O Deliverer of those who tale refuge at Your right hand, from those who rise up.
8 Keep me as the apple of the eye; hide me in the shadow of Your wings
9 from the wicked who deal violently with me; my deadly enemies who encompass me.
10 They are enclosed in their own fat, with their mouth they speak proudly.
11 They have now encompassed us in our steps; they have set their eyes; bowing down to the ground
12 like a lion that is eager to tear, and as a young lion lurking in secret places.
13 Rise up, O YEHOWAH, disappoint them, bring them down; deliver my soul from the wicked with Your sword;
14 from men with Your hand, O YEHOWAH, from men of the world, whose portion is in this life, and whose belly is full with Your treasure. They are fulfilled with their children, and leave their abundance to their babes.
15 As for me, I shall behold Your face in righteousness; I will be satisfied with Your likeness when I awake.

Psalm 18

To the chief musician; a Psalm of David, the servant of YEHOWAH, who spoke to YEHOWAH the words of this song, in the day that YEHOWAH delivered him from the hand of all his enemies, and from the hand of Saul; and he said:
“I love You, O YEHOWAH, my strength.”
2 YEHOWAH is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my El, my rock in whom I take refuge; my shield and the horn of my deliverance; my stronghold.
3 I call upon YEHOWAH, who is worthy to be praised, and so shall I be saved from my enemies.
4 The bands of death encompassed me, and the torrents of Belial terrified me.
5 The bands of hell surrounded me; the snares of death were before me.
6 In my distress I called upon YEHOWAH, and cried to my Elohim for help; He heard my voice out of His temple, and my cry came before Him, into His ears.
7 Then the earth shook and quaked; and the foundations of the mountains trembled and were shaken, because He burned with anger.
8 There went up smoke out of His nostrils, and fire out of His mouth devoured; coals were kindled by it.
9 He bowed the heavens, and came down; and darkness was under His feet.
10 He rode upon a cherub and did fly; yes, He sped upon the wings of the wind.
11 He made darkness His hiding place; His tent round about Him; darkness of waters, thick clouds of the skies.
12 From the brightness before Him His thick clouds passed, hail and coals of fire.
13 YEHOWAH also thundered in the heavens, and the Most High uttered His voice, hail and coals of fire.
14 He sent out His arrows and scattered them; and a great many lightning flashes, and confused them.
15 Then the channels of water were seen, and the foundations of the world were laid bare at Your rebuke, O YEHOWAH; at the blast of the breath of Your nostrils.
16 He sent forth from on high, He took me; He drew me out of many waters.
17 He delivered me from my fierce enemy, and from those who hated me, for they were too strong for me.
18 They confronted me in the day of my calamity, but YEHOWAH was my stay.
19 He brought me forth also into a large place; He delivered me, because He delighted in me.
20 YEHOWAH has rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands He has recompensed me.
21 For I have kept the ways of YEHOWAH, and have not wickedly departed from my Elohim.
22 For all His judgments were before me, and I did not put away His statutes from me.
23 I was also upright before Him, and I kept myself from my sin.
24 Therefore YEHOWAH has recompensed me according to my righteousness, according to the cleanness of my hands in His eyes.
25 With the merciful You show Yourself merciful; with the blameless You show Yourself blameless;
26 with the pure You show Yourself pure, and with the perverse You show Yourself unsavory.
27 For You deliver an afflicted people, but proud eyes You bring down.
28 For You give light to my lamp; YEHOWAH my Elohim illuminates my darkness.
29 For by You I can run through a troop; and by my Elohim I can leap over a wall.
30 As for El, His way is blameless; the word of YEHOWAH is tried; He is a shield to all who take refuge in Him.
31 For who is Eloah, but YEHOWAH? And who is a rock, except our Elohim,
32 the El who girds me with strength and makes my way blameless?
33 He makes my feet like hinds’, and sets me upon my high places.
34 He trains my hands for battle, so that my arms can bend a bow of brass.
35 You have also given me the shield of Your deliverance; Your right hand sustains me; and Your gentleness makes me great.
36 You enlarge my steps under me, and my ankles have not wavered.
37 I have pursued my enemies and overtook them, and I did not turn back until they were consumed.
38 I crushed them, so that they were not able to rise; they fell under my feet.
39 For You have girded me with strength for battle; You have subdued under me those who rose up against me,
40 and my enemies You have also made turn their backs to me, that I might destroy those who hate me.
41 They cried out, but there was none to deliver; even unto YEHOWAH, but He answered them not.
42 Then I beat them as fine as the dust before the wind; I emptied them out as the mire of the streets.
43 You have delivered me from the strivings of the people; You have put me as the head of the nations; people I have not known serve me.
44 As soon as they hear, they obey me; foreigners submit to me;
45 foreigners faint in fear from their strongholds.
46 YEHOWAH lives, and blessed be my rock; and let the Elohim of my deliverance be exalted;
47 the El who does avenge me, and subdues peoples under me.
48 He delivers me from my enemies; yes, You lift me above those who rise up against me; You deliver me from violent men.
49 Therefore, will I give thanks to You, O YEHOWAH; among the nations I will sing praises to Your Name.
50 He gives great deliverance to His king, and shows loving-kindness to His anointed, to David and his seed forever.

Psalm 19

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
The heavens declare the glory of El; and the firmament shows the work of His hands.
2 Day-to-day utters abundant speech, and night-to-night declares knowledge.
3 There is no speech, and there are no words; their voice is not heard.
4 Yet their line has gone out through all the earth, and their words to the end of the world. In them He has set a tent for the sun,
5 that is as a bridegroom coming out of his chamber; it rejoices as a strong man to run the race.
6 Its going forth is from one end of the heavens, and its circuit to the other end of them; and there is nothing hidden from its heat.
7 The law of YEHOWAH is perfect, turning back the soul; the testimony of YEHOWAH is sure, making wise the simple.
8 The statutes of YEHOWAH are right, rejoicing the heart; the commandment of YEHOWAH is pure, enlightening the eyes.
9 The fear of YEHOWAH is clean, enduring forever; the judgments of YEHOWAH are true; they are righteous altogether;
10 they are more precious than gold, yes, than much fine gold; sweeter also than honey and the drippings of the honeycomb.
11 Moreover, by them Your servant is warned; in keeping them there is great reward.
12 Who understands their errors? Cleanse me from what is hidden.
13 Keep back Your servant from being presumptuous; let them not have dominion over me; then I will be complete, and I shall be acquitted of great sins.
14 Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in Your sight, O YEHOWAH, my Rock and my Redeemer.

Psalm 20

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
May YEHOWAH hear you in the day of trouble! May the name of the Elohim of Jacob save you!
2 May He send you help from the sanctuary, and strengthen you from Zion;
3 May He remember all your offerings, and accept your burnt offerings! Selah.
4 May He grant you according to your own heart, and fulfill all your counsel!
5 We will rejoice in Your deliverance, and in the name of our Elohim we will set up banners. May YEHOWAH fulfill all your petitions.
6 Now I know that YEHOWAH delivers His anointed; He will answer them from His holy heaven with the saving strength of His right hand.
7 Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we will call upon the name of YEHOWAH our Elohim.
8 They are bowed down and fallen, but we are raised and stand upright.
9 Save, YEHOWAH; may the King answer us in the day we call.

Psalm 21

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
The king will rejoice in Your strength O YEHOWAH, and in Your deliverance how greatly shall he rejoice!
2 You have given him his heart’s desire, and You have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah.
3 For You have met him with blessings of goodness; You set a crown of fine gold upon his head.
4 He asked life of You; You gave it to him, length of days forever and ever.
5 His glory is great through Your deliverance, honor and majesty have You placed upon him.
6 For You have made him most blessed forever; You make him glad with rejoicing in Your presence.
7 For the king trusts YEHOWAH, and through the lovingkindness of the Most High he will not be shaken.
8 Your hand will find out all Your enemies; Your right hand will find out those who hate You.
9 You will make them as a fiery oven in the time of your presence; YEHOWAH will swallow them up in His wrath, and fire will devour them.
10 Their fruit You will destroy from the earth, and their seed from among the children of men.
11 For they intend evil against You, and imagine a mischievous device; but they will not prevail.
12 For You will make them turn their back, but You will make ready Your bowstrings before their face.
13 Be exalted, O YEHOWAH, in Your strength; and we will sing and praise Your power.

Psalm 22

To the chief musician, upon the rising of a doe; a Psalm of David:
My El, my El, why have You forsaken me? Far from my deliverance are the words of my moaning.
2 O my Elohim, I cry by day, but You do not answer; and by night, for there is no rest.
3 But You are holy, O You who inhabit the praises of Israel.
4 Our fathers trusted in You; they trusted and You did deliver them.
5 They cried unto You, and were delivered; they trusted and were not ashamed.
6 But I am a worm and unworthy; a reproach of humanity, despised by the people.
7 All who see me laugh me to scorn; they pucker their lips, and they wag their heads, saying,
8 “He trusted YEHOWAH; let Him deliver him; let Him rescue him, because he delights in Him.”
9 But You are He who brought me forth from the womb; You made me trust while upon my mother’s breasts.
10 I was cast upon You from the womb; You have been my El from my mother’s womb.
11 Be not far from me, for trouble is near, and there is none to help.
12 Many bulls have encompassed me; Mighty bulls of Bashan have encircled round about me.
13 They gape upon me with their mouths, as ravening and mighty roaring lions.
14 I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted within the midst of my bowels.
15 My strength is dried up like a piece of pottery, and my tongue cleaves to my jaws; and You have laid me in the dust of death.
16 For dogs have encompassed me; a multitude of evildoers has encircled me; they pierced my hands and my feet.
17 I can count all my bones. They look, they stare at me;
18 they divide my garments among them, and cast lots for my clothing.
19 But You, O YEHOWAH, be not far off; O my strength, hasten to my aid.
20 Deliver my soul from the sword, my life from the power of the dog.
21 Deliver me from the lion’s mouth; yes, from the horns of the wild bulls, answer me.
22 I will declare Your name to my brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.
23 You who revere YEHOWAH, praise Him; all you seed of Jacob, glorify Him. And gather together unto Him, all you seed of Israel.
24 For He has not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the poor; nor has He hidden His face from them; but when they cry to Him, He hears.
25 My praise is from You in the great assembly, and I will pay my vows before those who revere You.
26 The poor will eat and be satisfied; they will praise YEHOWAH that seek Him. Your heart will live forever!
27 All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to YEHOWAH, and all the families of the nations will worship before You.
28 For the kingdom is YEHOWAH’S, and He rules the nations.
29 All the fat of the land will eat and worship; all who go down to the dust will bow before You; and none can keep alive their own soul.
30 The seed will serve Him; it will be declared of the Master to generations.
31 They will come and declare His righteousness, to a people who will be born, and all that He has done.

Psalm 23

A Psalm of David:
YEHOWAH is my shepherd, I shall not want.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside still waters.
3 He restores my soul; He leads me in the paths of righteousness for His name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I fear no evil, for You are with me; Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me in the presence of my enemies; You have anointed my head with oil; my cup runs over.
6 Surely goodness and lovingkindness will follow me all the days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of YEHOWAH forever.

Psalm 24

A Psalm of David:
The earth is YEHOWAH’S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and those who dwell in it.
2 For He has founded it upon the seas, and established it upon the floods.
3 Who may ascend upon the mountain of YEHOWAH? And who may stand in His holy place?
4 They whose hands are clean and whose heart is pure; who have not lifted up their soul to vanity, nor sworn deceitfully.
5 They shall receive a blessing from YEHOWAH, and righteousness from the Elohim of his deliverance.
6 This is the posterity of those who seek Him, who seek His face, O Jacob. Selah.
7 Lift up your heads, O gates, and be lifted up, O eternal doors, that the King of glory may come in!
8 Who is the King of glory? YEHOWAH strong and mighty; YEHOWAH mighty in battle.
9 Lift up your heads, O gates, yes, lift up, O everlasting doors, that the King of glory may come in!
10 Who is this King of glory? YEHOWAH of hosts, He is the King of glory. Selah.

Psalm 25

A Psalm of David:
To You, O YEHOWAH, I lift up my soul.
2 O my Elohim, I trust in You, do not let me be ashamed; do not let my enemies triumph over me.
3 Also, let none of those who wait for You be ashamed; let them be ashamed who deal treacherously without cause.
4 Make me know Your way, O YEHOWAH; teach me Your paths.
5 Lead me in Your truth and teach me, for You are the Elohim of my deliverance; for You I wait all the day.
6 Remember, O YEHOWAH, Your tender mercy and Your lovingkindness, for they have been from of old.
7 Remember not the sins of my youth or my transgressions. According to Your lovingkindness remember me, for Your goodness’ sake, O YEHOWAH.
8 Good and upright is YEHOWAH; therefore He will instruct sinners in the way.
9 He leads the humble in judgment, and He teaches the humble His way.
10 All the paths of YEHOWAH are lovingkindness and truth, to those who keep His covenant and His testimonies.
11 For Your name’s sake, O YEHOWAH, pardon my iniquity, for it is great.
12 Who are they that revere YEHOWAH? Those are the ones He will instruct in the way they should choose.
13 Their soul will abide in prosperity, and their seed will inherit the earth.
14 The secret of YEHOWAH is for those who revere Him, and He will make them know His covenant.
15 My eyes are continually toward YEHOWAH, for He will pluck my feet out of the net.
16 Turn to me and be gracious to me, for I am alone and afflicted.
17 The troubles of my heart are enlarged; bring me out of my distresses.
18 Look upon my affliction and my trouble, and forgive all my sins.
19 Look upon my enemies, for they are many, and they hate me with violent hatred.
20 Keep my soul and deliver me; do not let me be ashamed, for I trust in You.
21 Let integrity and uprightness preserve me, for I wait on You.
22 Redeem Israel, O Elohim, out of all his troubles.

Psalm 26

A Psalm of David:
Judge me, O YEHOWAH, for I have walked in my integrity, and I have trusted in YEHOWAH; I shall not waver.
2 Examine me, O YEHOWAH, and try me; refine my mind and my heart.
3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes, and I have walked in Your truth.
4 I do not sit with vane people, nor will I go with pretenders.
5 I have hated the assembly of evildoers, and I will not sit with the wicked.
6 I will wash my hands in innocence, so I may encompass Your altar, O YEHOWAH,
7 that I may hear the voice of thanksgiving and declare all Your wonders.
8 O YEHOWAH, I love the habitation of Your house and the place where Your glory dwells.
9 Gather not my soul with sinners, nor my life with people of bloodshed,
10 in whose hands is wickedness, and whose right hand is full of bribes.
11 But as for me, I will walk in my integrity; redeem me, and be gracious to me.
12 My foot stands on a level place; in the congregations I will bless YEHOWAH.

Psalm 27

A Psalm of David:
YEHOWAH is my light and my deliverance; whom shall I fear? YEHOWAH is the defense of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?
2 When the wicked; my adversaries and my enemies, came upon me to devour my flesh, they stumbled and fell.
3 Though armies encamp against me, my heart will not fear; though war arises against me, in this I shall be confident.
4 One thing have I asked of YEHOWAH that I shall seek: that I may dwell in the house of YEHOWAH all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of YEHOWAH and to make inquiry in His temple.
5 For in the day of trouble He will hide me in His tabernacle; in the secret place of His tent He will hide me; He will lift me up upon a rock.
6 And now my head will be lifted up above my enemies round about me, and I will offer in His tent sacrifices with shouts of joy; I will sing, yes, I will sing praises unto YEHOWAH.
7 Hear, O YEHOWAH, when I cry with my voice, and be gracious unto me and answer me.
8 “Seek My face,” my heart heard You say; Your face, O YEHOWAH, I do seek.
9 Hide not Your face from me, do not turn Your servant away in anger; You have been my help; do not leave me nor forsake me, O Elohim of my deliverance!
10 When my father and my mother forsook me, YEHOWAH took me up.
11 Teach me Your way, O YEHOWAH, and lead me in a level path, because of my enemies.
12 Deliver me not over unto the will of my enemies, for false witnesses rise up against me, and such as breathe out violence.
13 Unless I had believed that I would see the goodness of YEHOWAH in the land of the living.
14 Wait for YEHOWAH; be strong and let your heart be courageous; yes, wait for YEHOWAH.

Psalm 28

A Psalm of David:
To You, O YEHOWAH, I call out; my rock, do not be deaf to me, for if You are deaf to me, I become like those who go down to the pit.
2 Hear the voice of my supplications when I cry to You, when I lift up my hands toward Your holy oracle.
3 Draw me not away with the wicked, and with the workers of iniquity, who speak peace with their neighbors, while evil is in their hearts.
4 Give them according to their deeds and according to the evil of their work; give them according to the work of their hands; render to them their desert.
5 Because they regard not the works of YEHOWAH, nor the deeds of His hands, He will tear them down and not build them up.
6 Blessed be YEHOWAH, for He has heard the voice of my supplications.
7 YEHOWAH is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore my heart rejoices, and with my song I will praise Him.
8 YEHOWAH is their strength, and He is a delivering stronghold to His anointed.
9 Save Your people and bless Your inheritance; Shepherd them also, and lift them up forever.

Psalm 29

A Psalm of David:
Give unto YEHOWAH, you children of the Mighty El; give to YEHOWAH glory and strength.
2 Give unto YEHOWAH the glory due His name; worship YEHOWAH in the beauty of holiness.
3 The voice of YEHOWAH is upon the waters; the El of glory thunders, YEHOWAH is upon many waters.
4 The voice of YEHOWAH is powerful; the voice of YEHOWAH is full of majesty.
5 The voice of YEHOWAH breaks the cedars; yes, YEHOWAH breaks in pieces the cedars of Lebanon.
6 He makes Lebanon skip like a calf, and Sirion like a young wild bull.
7 The voice of YEHOWAH divides the flames of fire.
8 The voice of YEHOWAH shakes the wilderness; YEHOWAH shakes the wilderness of Kadesh.
9 The voice of YEHOWAH makes the hinds to calve and makes bare the forests; and in His temple every one says, “Glory!”
10 YEHOWAH sits upon the flood; yes, YEHOWAH sits as King forever.
11 YEHOWAH will give strength to His people; YEHOWAH will bless His people with peace.

Psalm 30

A Psalm; a Song at the Dedication of the house of David:
I will extol You, O YEHOWAH, for You have lifted me up, and have not let my enemies rejoice over me.
2 O YEHOWAH, my Elohim, I cried unto You, and You healed me.
3 O YEHOWAH, You have brought up my soul from the grave; You have kept me alive, that I would not go down to the pit.
4 Sing praise unto YEHOWAH, you His pious ones; and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.
5 For His anger is momentary; His favor is for a lifetime; weeping may endure for the night, but rejoicing comes in the morning.
6 As for me, I said in my prosperity, “I will never be moved.”
7 O YEHOWAH, by Your favor, You have made my mountain to stand strong; You hid Your face and I trembled.
8 I called to You, O YEHOWAH, and unto YEHOWAH I made supplication:
9 What profit is there in my blood, if I go down to the pit? Will the dust praise You? Will it declare Your truth?
10 Hear, O YEHOWAH, and be gracious unto me; O YEHOWAH, be my helper.
11 You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have loosed my sackcloth and girded me with gladness,
12 that my glory may sing praises to You, and not be silent. O YEHOWAH my Elohim, I will give thanks to You forevermore.

Psalm 31

To the chief musician; a Psalm of David:
In You, O YEHOWAH, do I put my trust; let me never be ashamed; deliver me in Your righteousness.
2 Incline Your ear to me, deliver me speedily; be a rock of strength to me, a fortress to be safe.
3 For You are my rock and my fortress; and for Your name’s sake You will lead me and guide me.
4 Pull me from the net that they have laid secretly for me, for You are my strength.
5 Into Your hand I commit my soul; You have redeemed me, O YEHOWAH, El of truth.
6 I hate those who regard lying and vanity; for I trust in YEHOWAH.
7 I will be glad and rejoice in Your lovingkindness, because You have seen my affliction; You have known the distress of my soul,
8 and You have not delivered me into the hand of the enemy; You have set my feet in a large place.
9 Be gracious unto me, O YEHOWAH, for I am in trouble; my eye is consumed with grief, yes, my soul and my body.
10 For my life is spent with sorrow and my years with sighing, my strength fails because of my iniquity, and my body is wasted away.
11 I am the reproach of all my enemies, especially my neighbors, and a dread to my acquaintances; those who see me outside flee from me.
12 I am forgotten as the dead, out of mind; I am like a broken vessel,
13 for I have heard the slander of many, fear is on every side; when they take counsel together against me, they purpose to take away my life.
14 But I trust in You, O YEHOWAH! I say, “You are my Elohim.”
15 My times are in Your hand; deliver me from the hand of my enemies and from those who persecute me.
16 Make Your face to shine upon Your servant; save me in Your lovingkindness.
17 Let me not be ashamed, O YEHOWAH, for I call upon You; let the wicked be ashamed, let them be silent in the grave.
18 Let the lying lips be put to silence, which speak arrogantly against the righteous with pride and contempt.
19 How great is Your goodness, which You have laid up for those who fear You, which You have done for those who take refuge in You, before the children of mankind!
20 You hide them in the secret place of Your presence from the snares of the people; You keep them secretly in a pavilion from the strife of tongues.
21 Blessed be YEHOWAH, for He has shown me His marvelous lovingkindness in a besieged city.
22 As for me, I said in my fear, “I am cut off from before Your eyes”; nevertheless You heard the voice of my supplications when I cried to You.
23 O, love YEHOWAH, all you His pious ones! YEHOWAH preserves the faithful and over-abundantly repays the proud doer.
24 Be strong and let your heart take courage, all you who hope in YEHOWAH.

Psalm 32

A psalm of David, a poem:
How blessed are they whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered!
2 How blessed are they unto whom YEHOWAH does not impute iniquity, and in whose spirit there is no deceit!
3 When I remained silent, my body became old through my moaning all the day long.
4 For day and night Your hand was heavy upon me; my vigor was turned into the drought of summer. Selah.
5 I made known my sin to You, and my iniquity I did not hide; I said, “I will confess my transgressions to YEHOWAH”; and You forgave the iniquity of my sin. Selah.
6 Therefore, let everyone who is pious pray to You in a time when You may be found; surely in the flood of great waters they will not reach up to You.
7 You are my hiding place; You protect me from trouble; You surround me with songs of deliverance. Selah.
8 I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you should go; I will counsel you with My eye upon you.
9 Be not as the horse or as the mule, which have no understanding; whose trappings include a bridle and a bit to hold them in check, or else they will not come near to you.
10 Many are the sorrows of the wicked, but they who trust in YEHOWAH, lovingkindness shall encompass them round about.
11 Be glad in YEHOWAH and rejoice, you righteous; and shout for joy, all you upright in heart.

Psalm 33

Shout for joy in YEHOWAH, O you righteous; praise is becoming to the upright.
2 Give thanks unto YEHOWAH with the harp; sing forth praises unto Him with a ten-stringed lute.
3 Sing to Him a new song; play skillfully with a joyful noise.
4 For the word of YEHOWAH is upright, and all His work is in truth.
5 He loves righteous judgments; the earth is full of the lovingkindness of YEHOWAH.
6 By the word of YEHOWAH were the heavens made, and all the host of them by the breath of His mouth.
7 He gathers the waters of the sea together as a heap; He lays up the deep in storehouses.
8 Let all the earth fear YEHOWAH; let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of Him.
9 For He spoke, and it was. He commanded, and it stood fast.
10 YEHOWAH brings to nothing the counsel of the nations, and He makes of no effect the plots of the people.
11 The counsel of YEHOWAH stands forever, the plots of His heart from generation to generation.
12 Blessed is the nation whose Elohim is YEHOWAH, and the people whom He has chosen for His inheritance.
13 YEHOWAH looks from the heavens; He beholds all the children of mankind;
14 from the place of His dwelling He looks out on all the inhabitants of the earth,
15 He who fashions the hearts of them all, He who understands all their deeds.
16 A king is not saved by the multitude of a great army, nor are the mighty delivered by great strength;
17 a horse is a false hope for safety; nor does it deliver anyone by its great strength;
18 behold, the eye of YEHOWAH is upon those who revere Him; upon those who hope for His lovingkindness;
19 to deliver their soul from death, and to keep them alive in famine.
20 Our soul waits for YEHOWAH; He is our help and our shield,
21 for our hearts rejoice in Him, because we trust in His holy name.
22 Let Your lovingkindness, O YEHOWAH, be upon us, according as we hope in You.

Psalm 34

A Psalm of David, when he changed his behavior before Abimelek, who drove him away, and he departed:
I will bless YEHOWAH at all times; His praises will continually be in my mouth.
2 My soul will make its boast in YEHOWAH; the humble will hear and rejoice.
3 O magnify YEHOWAH with me, and let us exalt His name together.
4 I sought YEHOWAH, and He answered me, and delivered me from all my fears.
5 They looked at Him and were radiant, and their faces were not ashamed.
6 This humble one called, and YEHOWAH heard, and delivered him out of all his troubles.
7 The angel of YEHOWAH encamps round about those who fear Him, and delivers them.
8 O taste and see that YEHOWAH is good; blessed are they who take refuge in Him!
9 O fear YEHOWAH, you His saints, for to those who fear Him there is no want.
10 The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but they who seek YEHOWAH shall not want any good.
11 Come, you children, hear me; I will teach you the fear of YEHOWAH.
12 Who is the one who desires life and loves days that they may see good?
13 Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceitfully.
14 Depart from evil and do good, seek peace and pursue it.
15 The eyes of YEHOWAH are toward the righteous, and His ears are to their cry.
16 The face of YEHOWAH is against those that do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.
17 The righteous cry out, and YEHOWAH hears and delivers them out of all their troubles.
18 YEHOWAH is near to the brokenhearted and saves the contrite in spirit.
19 Many are the adversities of the righteous, but YEHOWAH delivers them out of them all.
20 He keeps all his bones, not one of them is broken.
21 Evil will slay the wicked, and those who hate the righteous will be held guilty.
22 YEHOWAH redeems the soul of His servants, and none of those who hope in Him will be held guilty.

Psalm 35

A Psalm of David:
Contend, O YEHOWAH, with those who contend with me; fight against those who fight against me.
2 Take hold of shield and buckler and rise up for my help.
3 Draw out also the spear to stop and meet those who pursue me; say to my soul, “I am your deliverance.”
4 Let those be ashamed and humiliated who seek my life; let those be turned back and humiliated who devise evil against me.
5 Let them be as chaff before the wind, with the angel of YEHOWAH driving them away.
6 Let their way be dark and slippery, and let the angel of YEHOWAH pursue them.
7 For without cause they have hidden their net for me; without cause they dug a pit for my soul.
8 Let destruction come upon them unawares, and let the net, which they hid, catch them; into that very destruction let them fall.
9 And my soul will rejoice in YEHOWAH; it will rejoice in His deliverance.
10 All my bones will say, “YEHOWAH, who is like You, Who delivers the afflicted from those who are too strong for them, and the afflicted and the needy from those who consume them?”
11 Violent witnesses rise up; they lay to my charge things that I know not.
12 They repay me evil for good, to the bereavement of my soul.
13 But as for me, when they were sick, my clothing was sackcloth; I humbled my soul with fasting, and my prayer returned to my bosom.
14 I behaved as though it were my friend or brother; I bowed down in sadness, as one mourns for a mother.
15 But in my adversity they rejoiced and gathered together; the attackers whom I did not know gathered against me; they tore at me without ceasing.
16 Like impious buffoons at a feast, they gnashed at me with their teeth.
17 Master, how long will You look on? Rescue my soul from their tempest, my life from the lions.
18 I will give You thanks in the great assembly; I will praise You among many people.
19 Let not them who are wrongfully my enemies rejoice over me; nor let them wink with the eye, those that hate me without cause.
20 For they speak not peace, but they devise deceitful matters against the quiet in the land.
21 They open wide their mouth against me; they say, “Aha, aha, our eyes have seen!”
22 You have seen it, O YEHOWAH, keep not silent; O Master, be not far from me.
23 Stir up Yourself, and awake to my judgment and to my cause, my Elohim and my Master.
24 Judge me, O YEHOWAH my Elohim, according to Your righteousness, and let them not rejoice over me.
25 Let them not say in their hearts, “Aha, as we would have it!” Do not let them say, “We have swallowed him up!”
26 Let them be ashamed and brought to confusion altogether who rejoice at my adversity, let those be clothed with shame and dishonor who magnify themselves over me.
27 Let them shout for joy and rejoice, who delight in my righteousness, and let them say continually, “YEHOWAH be magnified, who delights in the prosperity of His servant.”
28 And my tongue shall speak of Your righteousness, and Your praises, all the day long.

Psalm 36

To the chief musician; a Psalm of David the servant of YEHOWAH:
Sin speaks to the wicked within their heart; there is no fear of Elohim before their eyes,
2 for sin flatters them in their eyes, even when their iniquity is found to be hateful.
3 The words of their mouth are wicked and deceitful; they have ceased to be wise and do good.
4 They devise wickedness upon their bed; they set themselves on a path that is not good; they abhor not evil.
5 Your lovingkindness, O YEHOWAH, is in the heavens; Your faithfulness is in the clouds.
6 Your righteousness is like the mountains, O El; Your judgments are a great deep. O YEHOWAH, You preserve mankind and beast.
7 How excellent is Your lovingkindness, O Elohim! Therefore the children of mankind take refuge in the shadow of Your wings.
8 They drink their fill, and are abundantly satisfied with the fatness of Your house; and You make them drink of the river of Your pleasure.
9 For with You is the fountain of life; in Your light shall we see light.
10 O continue Your lovingkindness to those who know You, and Your righteousness to the upright in heart.
11 Let not the foot of pride come against me, and let not the hand of the wicked drive me away.
12 There the workers of iniquity fall; they have been thrust down and shall not be able to rise.

Psalm 37

A Psalm of David:
Fret not because of evildoers; neither be envious of those who work iniquity,
2 for they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and whither like the green herb.
3 Trust in YEHOWAH and do good, dwell in the land and feed on faithfulness.
4 Delight yourself in YEHOWAH; and He will give you the desires of your heart.
5 Commit your way to YEHOWAH, trust also in Him, and He will bring it to pass;
6 for He will bring forth your righteousness as the light, and your judgment as the noonday.
7 Rest in YEHOWAH and wait patiently for Him; fret not because of those who prosper in their way; because of anyone who acts wickedly.
8 Cease from anger and forsake wrath; fret only of doing evil,
9 for evildoers will be cut off, but those who wait upon YEHOWAH, they will inherit the land.
10 For yet a little while, and the wicked will not exist, you will diligently look for their place, and they are not.
11 But the humble will inherit the land, and will delight in the abundance of peace.
12 The wicked plot against the righteous and gnash at them with their teeth.
13 The Master laughs at them, for He sees that their day is coming.
14 The wicked have drawn out the sword, and bent their bow, to cast down the humble and the needy; to slay those who are upright in their way.
15 Their sword will enter their own heart, and their bows will be broken.
16 The little that the righteous has is better than the riches of many wicked,
17 for the arms of the wicked shall be broken, but YEHOWAH upholds the righteous.
18 YEHOWAH knows the days of the upright, and their inheritance will be forever.
19 They will not be ashamed in the time of evil, and in the days of famine they will be satisfied.
20 But the wicked will perish; and the enemies of YEHOWAH will be like the fat of lambs, they will cease; like smoke they will cease.
21 The wicked borrow and pay not again; but the righteous are gracious and give,
22 for those blessed by Him will inherit the land, but those cursed by Him will be cut off.
23 The steps of every person are established by YEHOWAH, and He delights in their way.
24 Though they fall, they will not be utterly cast down, because YEHOWAH upholds them with His hand.
25 I have been young and now I am old, yet I have not seen the righteous forsaken or their seed begging for bread.
26 All day long they are gracious and lend, and their seed are blessed.
27 Depart from evil and do good deeds, and dwell forevermore.
28 For YEHOWAH loves judgment and does not forsake His pious ones; they are preserved forever, but the seed of the wicked will be cut off.
29 The righteous will inherit the land and dwell therein forever.
30 The mouth of the righteous utter wisdom, and their tongues speak judgment.
31 The law of Elohim is in their heart; His steps will not slide.
32 The wicked spy upon the righteous and seek to kill them,
33 but YEHOWAH will not leave them in their hand, or let them be condemned when they are judged.
34 Wait upon YEHOWAH and keep His way, and He will exalt you to inherit the land; when the wicked are cut off, you will see it.
35 I have seen the wicked in great power, spreading like a green tree in its native soil.
36 Then they pass away, and lo, they are no more; I sought for them, but they could not be found.
37 Mark the blameless, and behold the upright; for their end is peace,
38 but the transgressors will be altogether destroyed; the posterity of the wicked will be cut off.
39 But the deliverance of the righteous is from YEHOWAH; He is their strength in time of trouble.
40 And YEHOWAH will help them and deliver them; He will deliver them from the wicked and save them, because they trust in Him.

Psalm 38

A Psalm of David, to bring to remembrance:
O YEHOWAH, rebuke me not in Your wrath, nor chasten me in Your hot displeasure,
2 for Your arrows stick fast in me, and Your hand has come down upon me.
3 There is no soundness in my flesh because of Your anger, and there is no health in my bones because of my sin.
4 For my iniquities have gone over my head, as a heavy burden they are too heavy for me.
5 My wounds stink; they are corrupt because of my foolishness.
6 I am troubled and bowed down greatly; I go mourning all day long.
7 For my loins are filled with a burning, and there is no soundness in my flesh.
8 I am feeble and very sore; I moan because of the agitation of my heart.
9 Master, all my desire is before You; and my groaning is not hidden from You.
10 My heart pants, my strength fails me; and the light of my eyes, even that also has gone from me.
11 My beloved and my friends stand aloof from my plague; and my kinsmen stand afar off.
12 Those who seek my life lay snares, and those who seek my harm speak ruin; and they murmur deceitfully all day long.
13 But I, like the deaf, hear not; and like the mute, cannot open my mouth.
14 Thus, I am like those who cannot hear, and in whose mouth are no reproofs.
15 For in You, O YEHOWAH, do I hope; You will see, O Master, my Elohim.
16 For I said, “Let them not rejoice over me! When my foot slipped, they magnify themselves against me,”
17 for I am ready to halt, and my sorrow is continually before me.
18 For I declare my iniquity. I am anxious because of my sin.
19 But my enemies are lively and strong, and those who hate me wrongfully are multiplied;
20 and those who repay evil for good are my adversaries, because I pursue what is good.
21 Forsake me not, O YEHOWAH; O my Elohim, be not far from me!
22 Make haste to help me, O Master, my deliverance!

Psalm 39

To the chief musician; for thanks; a Psalm of David:
I said, “I will guard my ways that I sin not with my tongue; I will guard my mouth, as with a muzzle, while the wicked are in my presence.”
2 I was dumb with silence; I held my peace from good, and my sorrow was stirred.
3 My heart was hot within me, while I was musing the fire burned; then I spoke with my tongue:
4 “YEHOWAH, make me to know my end, and the measure of my days; that I may know how frail I am.
5 Behold, You have made my days as handbreadths, and my lifetime as nothing in Your sight; surely every person at their best is altogether vain. Selah.
6 Surely every person walks about in vanity; surely they roar for nothing; they heap up, but do not know who will gather.
7 And now, Master, for what do I wait? My hope is in You.
8 Deliver me from all my sins; make me not the reproach of the foolish.
9 I was dumb; I opened not my mouth, because You did it.
10 Remove Your plague from me; because I am consumed by the blow of Your hand.
11 When You, with reproof, does chasten mankind for iniquity; You make what is precious to them consume away as a moth; surely every person is vain. Selah.
12 Hear my prayer, O YEHOWAH, and give ear to my cry; be not silent at my tears; for I am a stranger with You, a sojourner like all my fathers;
13 look away from me, that I may recover my strength, before I go from here, and am no more.”

Psalm 40

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
I waited patiently for YEHOWAH; and He inclined unto me and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of a horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.
3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise unto our Elohim; many will see and fear, and will trust in YEHOWAH.
4 Blessed are they who have made YEHOWAH their trust, and have turned not to the proud, nor to those who turn aside to lies.
5 Many, O YEHOWAH my Elohim, are the wonderful works that You have done, and Your thoughts toward us; they cannot be reckoned up in order unto You. If I would declare and speak of them, they are more than can be numbered.
6 Sacrifice and offering You have not desired; my ears You have opened; burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
7 Then I said, “Behold, I come; in the volume of the book written of me;
8 I delight to do Your will, O My Elohim. Your law is within my heart.”
9 I have preached righteousness in the great assembly; behold, I have not held back my lips, O, You know!
10 I have not hidden Your righteousness within my heart; I have declared Your faithfulness and Your deliverance; I have not concealed Your lovingkindness and Your truth from the great assembly.
11 Withhold not Your tender mercies from me, O YEHOWAH; let Your lovingkindness and Your truth continually preserve me.
12 For innumerable evils have encompassed me; my iniquities have taken hold of me, so that I am not able to see; they are more than the hairs of my head, therefore my heart fails me.
13 Be pleased, O YEHOWAH, to deliver me; O YEHOWAH, make haste to help me.
14 Let them be ashamed and confounded together that seek after my soul to destroy it; let them be driven backward and put to shame who wish me evil.
15 Let them be desolate as a reward for their shame, who say to me, “Aha, aha!”
16 Let all those that seek You rejoice and be glad in You; let those who love Your deliverance say continually, ” YEHOWAH be magnified!”
17 But I am poor and needy, let the Master think upon me, for You are my help and my deliverer; tarry not, O my Elohim.

Psalm 41

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
Blessed are they who consider the poor; YEHOWAH will deliver them in time of trouble.
2 YEHOWAH will preserve them and keep them alive; and they shall be blessed upon the earth; and You will not deliver them unto the will of their enemies.
3 YEHOWAH will strengthen them upon the bed of sickness. You will turn about all their bed in their sickness.
4 I said, “YEHOWAH, be merciful unto me; heal my soul, for I have sinned against You.”
5 My enemies speak evil of me, “When will they die, and their name perish?”
6 And if they come to see, they speak evil; their hearts gather iniquity to itself; when they go out, they tell it.
7 All that hate me whisper together against me; against me they devise my hurt,
8 “An evil disease cleaves fast unto him,” they say, “and now that he lies down, he will rise up no more.”
9 Yes, even my own friend, in whom I trusted, who ate my bread, has lifted up their heel against me.
10 But You, O YEHOWAH, be merciful unto me and raise me up, that I may requite them.
11 By this I know that You are inclined to me, because my enemy does not triumph over me.
12 And as for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and set me before Your face forever.
13 Blessed be YEHOWAH, Elohim of Israel, from everlasting and to everlasting. Amen and Amen.

Psalm 42

To the chief musician; instruction for the sons of Korah:
As the deer pants after the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O Elohim.
2 My soul thirsts for Elohim, for the living El; when shall I come and appear before Elohim?
3 My tears have been my meat day and night, while they continually say to me, “Where is your Elohim?”
4 When I remember these things, I pour out my soul within me. For I had gone with the multitude, I went with them to the house of Elohim, with the voice of joy and praise, with a multitude that kept holiday.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? Why are you troubled within me? Hope in Elohim, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance.
6 O my Elohim, my soul is cast down within me; therefore will I remember You from the land of Jordan and of the Hermonites, and from the hill of Mizar.
7 Deep calls to deep at the noise of Your waterspouts; all Your waves and Your billows are gone over me.
8 YEHOWAH will command His lovingkindness in the daytime; and in the night His song will be with me; a prayer to the El of my life.
9 I will say unto El my rock, “Why have You forgotten me? Why go I mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?”
10 With a sword in my bones, my enemies reproach me; while they say daily unto me, “Where is your Elohim?”
11 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you troubled within me? Hope in Elohim, for I shall yet praise Him, the deliverance of my countenance and my Elohim.

Psalm 43

Judge me, O Elohim, and plead my cause against an impious nation; O deliver me from the deceitful and the unjust!
2 For You are the Elohim of my strength; why have You cast me off? Why do I go mourning because of the oppression of the enemy?
3 O send out Your light and Your truth, let them lead me; let them bring me unto Your holy hill and to Your habitation.
4 Then I will go unto the altar of Elohim, unto El my exceeding joy; yes, upon the harp I will praise You, O Elohim, my Elohim.
5 Why are you cast down, O my soul? And why are you troubled within me? Hope in Elohim, for I shall yet praise Him, the deliverance of my countenance and my Elohim.

Psalm 44

To the chief musician, instructions for the sons of Korah;
We have heard with our ears, O Elohim, our fathers have told us the work You did in their days, in the times of old.
2 You did drive out the heathen with Your own hand; and planted them; You did afflict the peoples, and cast them out.
3 For they did not receive the land as a possession by their own sword, nor did their own arm save them, but Your right hand, and Your arm, and the light of Your countenance, because You favored them.
4 You are my King, O Elohim; command deliverance for Jacob.
5 Through You we will push down our enemies; through Your name we will tread them under, who rise up against us.
6 For I will not trust in my bow, nor will my sword save me.
7 But You have saved us from our enemies, and have put them to shame who hated us.
8 In Elohim we boast all day long, and we give thanks to Your name forever. Selah.
9 But You have cast us off, and put us to shame; and go not forth with our armies.
10 You make us to turn back from the enemy; and those who hate us take spoil for themselves.
11 You have given us like sheep; for meat; and have scattered us among the masses.
12 You sell Your people for nothing, and do not increase Your wealth by their price.
13 You make us a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and a derision to those round about us.
14 You make us a byword among the masses, a shaking of the head among the people.
15 My confusion is continually before me, and the shame of my face has covered me,
16 for the voice of those who reproach and blaspheme; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.
17 All this has come upon us, but we have not forgotten You, neither have we dealt falsely with Your covenant.
18 Our heart has not turned back, neither have our steps bent from Your way,
19 even though You have oppressed us in a place of dragons, and covered us with the shadow of death.
20 If we have forgotten the name of our Elohim or stretched out our hands to a strange el,
21 will not Elohim search this out? For He knows the secrets of the heart,
22 yet for Your sake we are killed all day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.
23 Awake, why do You sleep, O Master? Arise, do not cast us off forever.
24 Why do You hide Your face, and forget our affliction and our oppression?
25 For our soul is bowed down to the dust; our belly cleaves to the earth.
26 Rise up for our help, and redeem us for the sake of Your mercy.

Psalm 45

To the chief musician, with trumpets; for the sons of Korah, a Song of loves:
My heart is gushing with a good matter; I speak of the things which I have made touching the King; my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 You are fairer than the children of men; grace is poured through Your lips; therefore Elohim has blessed You forever.
3 Gird Your sword upon Your thigh, O most Mighty, with Your glory and Your majesty,
4 and in Your majesty ride prosperously, because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and Your right hand shall teach You terrible things.
5 Your arrows are sharp in the heart of the king’s enemies; and the people fall under You.
6 Your throne, O Elohim, is forever and ever; the scepter of Your kingdom is a righteous scepter.
7 You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore Elohim, Your Elohim, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.
8 All Your garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia; out of the ivory palaces have they made You glad.
9 Kings’ daughters are among Your honorable women; at Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir.
10 Hear, O daughter, and consider, and incline your ear: forget also your people and your father’s house;
11 that the King may greatly desire your beauty; for He is your Master; and you shall worship Him.
12 And the daughter of Tyre will be there with a gift; even the rich among the people will entreat Your favor.
13 The King’s daughter is all glorious within; her clothing is wrought with gold.
14 She will be brought unto the King in raiment of needlework. The virgins, her companions who follow her, will be brought unto You.
15 With gladness and rejoicing they will be brought, and they will enter into the King’s palace.
16 Instead of your fathers will be your children, whom You may make princes in all the earth.
17 I will make Your name to be remembered in all generations; therefore shall the people praise You forever and ever.

Psalm 46

To the chief musician, for the sons of Korah; a song in Soprano:
Elohim is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble.
2 Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be altered, and though the mountains be cast into the midst of the sea;
3 and though the waters thereof roar and pitch, and though the mountains undulate with the swelling thereof. Selah.
4 There is a river, the streams of which shall make glad the city of Elohim, the holy place of the tabernacles of the Most High.
5 Elohim is in the midst of her, she will not be moved; Elohim will help her, bright and early.
6 The masses raged, the kingdoms were moved. He uttered His voice, and the earth melted.
7 YEHOWAH of hosts is with us; the Elohim of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
8 Come, behold the works of YEHOWAH; what desolations He has made in the earth.
9 He makes wars to cease unto the end of the earth; He breaks the bow and cuts the spear asunder; He burns the chariots in the fire.
10 “Be still, and know that I am Elohim; I will be exalted among the masses, I will be exalted in the earth.”
11 YEHOWAH of hosts is with us; the Elohim of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.

Psalm 47

To the chief musician; a Psalm for the sons of Korah:
O clap your hands, all you people; shout unto Elohim with the voice of triumph.
2 For YEHOWAH Most High is terrible; a great King over all the earth.
3 He shall subdue the people under us, and the masses under our feet.
4 He shall choose our inheritance for us, the excellency of Jacob whom He loved. Selah.
5 Elohim has gone up with a shout, YEHOWAH, with the sound of a trumpet.
6 Sing praises to Elohim, sing praises; sing praises unto our King, sing praises.
7 For Elohim is the King of all the earth; sing praises with understanding.
8 Elohim reigns over the masses, Elohim sits upon the throne of His holiness.
9 The princes of the people are assembled together, even the people of the Elohim of Abraham. For the shields of the earth belong unto Elohim; He is greatly exalted.

Psalm 48

A Song and Psalm for the sons of Korah:
Great is YEHOWAH, and greatly to be praised in the city of our Elohim, in the mountain of His holiness.
2 Beautiful for situation, the joy of the whole earth is Mount Zion, on the sides of the north, the city of the great King.
3 Elohim is known in her palaces for a refuge.
4 For, lo, the kings were assembled, they passed by together.
5 They saw it, and so they marveled; they were troubled, and hastened away.
6 Panic took hold upon them there, and pain, as of a woman in travail.
7 You break the ships of Tarshish with an east wind.
8 As we have heard, so have we seen in the city of YEHOWAH of hosts, in the city of our Elohim; Elohim will establish her forever. Selah.
9 We have thought of Your lovingkindness, O Elohim, in the midst of Your temple.
10 According to Your name, O Elohim, so is Your praise to the ends of the earth; Your right hand is full of righteousness.
11 Let Mount Zion rejoice, let the daughters of Yehudah be glad, because of Your judgments.
12 Walk about Zion and go round about her; number the towers therein;
13 mark well her bulwarks, consider her palaces; that you may tell it to the generation following.
14 For this Elohim is our Elohim forever and ever; He will be our guide until death.

Psalm 49

To the chief musician; a Psalm for the sons of Korah:
Hear this, all you people; give ear, all you inhabitants of the world,
2 both low and high, rich and poor together.
3 My mouth will speak of wisdom, and the meditation of my heart will be of understanding.
4 I will incline my ear to a parable; I will open my dark saying upon the harp.
5 Why should I fear in days of evil, when the iniquity of my heels shall encompass me,
6 they who trust in their wealth and boast of themselves in the multitude of their riches?
7 None of them can by any means redeem their brethren, nor give to Elohim a ransom for them,
8 for the redemption of their soul is precious, and it ceases forever;
9 that they should still live forever, and not see corruption.
10 For he sees that wise die; likewise the fool and the stupid, and leave their wealth to others.
11 Their inward thought is that their families are forever and their dwelling places to all generations; and they call their lands after their own names.
12 Nevertheless, the wealth of humanity continues not; it is like the beasts that perish.
13 This is their way and their folly, yet their posterity approves their sayings. Selah.
14 Like sheep they are laid in the grave; death shall feed upon them, and the upright shall have dominion over them in the morning, and their refuge shall fail in the grave, and they shall have no place to dwell.
15 But Elohim will redeem my soul from the power of the grave, for He will receive me. Selah.
16 Be not afraid when one is made rich, when the glory of their house is increased;
17 for when they die they will carry nothing away; their glory will not descend after them.
18 Though while they lived they blessed their soul, and will praise you when you do well for yourself,
19 they will go to the generation of their fathers; they will never see the light.
20 Humanity in wealth understands nothing, and are like the beasts that perish.

Psalm 50

A Psalm of Asaph:
El, Elohim YEHOWAH has spoken, and called the earth from the rising of the sun unto the going down thereof.
2 Out of Zion, the perfection of beauty, Elohim has shined.
3 Our Elohim shall come and not keep silence; a fire shall devour before Him, and it will be very tempestuous round about Him.
4 He will call to the heavens above, and to the earth, that He may judge His people.
5 “Gather My saints together unto Me; those who have made a covenant with Me by sacrifice.”
6 And the heavens will declare His righteousness, for Elohim is judge Himself. Selah.
7 “Hear, O My people, and I will speak; O Israel, I will testify against you; I am Elohim, your Elohim.
8 I will not reprove you for your sacrifices, or your burnt offerings, which were to have been continually before Me.
9 I will take no bullock out of your house nor goats out of your folds.
10 For every beast of the forest is Mine, the cattle upon a thousand hills.
11 I know all of the birds of the mountains, and the wild beasts of the field are Mine.
12 If I were hungry I would not tell you, for the world is Mine, and the fullness of it.
13 Will I eat the flesh of bulls or drink the blood of goats?
14 Offer unto Elohim thanksgiving, and pay your vows to the Most High;
15 and call upon Me in the day of trouble; I will deliver you, and you will glorify Me.”
16 But unto the wicked Elohim says, “What have you to do to declare My statutes, or that you should even take My covenant in your mouth?
17 Seeing as you hate correction, and cast My words behind you.
18 When you see a thief, and consented with him, and have been a partaker with adulterers,
19 and you give your mouth to evil and your tongue frames deceit.
20 You sit and speak against your brother; you slander your own mother’s son.
21 These things you have done and I kept silent; you thought that I was altogether such a one as you, but I will reprove you, and set them in order before your eyes.
22 Now consider this, you who forget Eloah, unless I tear you in pieces, and there be none to deliver.
23 Whoever offers praise glorifies Me, and to those who order their course aright, I will show the deliverance of Elohim.”

Psalm 51

To the chief musician; a Psalm of David, when Nathan the prophet came unto him, after he had gone in to Bathsheba:
Have mercy upon me, O Elohim, according to Your lovingkindness; according to the multitude of Your tender mercies blot out my transgressions.
2 Wash me thoroughly from my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.
3 For I acknowledge my transgressions, and my sin is ever before me.
4 Against You, You only, I have sinned and done evil in Your sight, so that You are justified when You speak and innocent when You judge.
5 Behold, I was borne in iniquity, and in sin my mother conceived me.
6 Behold, You desire truth in the inward thoughts, and in the hidden part You will make me know wisdom.
7 Purge me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.
8 Make me to hear joy and gladness, that the bones which You have broken may rejoice.
9 Hide Your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquities.
10 Create in me a clean heart, O Elohim, and renew a right spirit within me.
11 Cast me not away from Your presence, and do not take Your Holy Spirit from me.
12 Restore unto me the joy of Your deliverance and bear me up with a noble spirit.
13 And I will teach transgressors Your ways, and sinners will be turned back unto You.
14 Deliver me from blood guiltiness, O Elohim, the Elohim of my deliverance; and my tongue will sing aloud for the joy of Your righteousness.
15 O Master, open my lips, that my mouth may speak forth Your praise,
16 for You desire not sacrifice, or else I would give it; and You delight not in burnt offering;
17 the sacrifices of Elohim are a broken spirit. A broken and a contrite heart, O Elohim, You will not despise.
18 Do good in Your good pleasure unto Zion. Build the walls of Jerusalem.
19 Then will You be pleased with the sacrifices of righteousness, with burnt offerings and whole burnt offerings; then they shall offer bullocks upon Your altar.

Psalm 52

To the chief musician; a poem of David, when Doeg the Edomite came and told Saul, and said to him, “David has come to the house of Ahimelech:”
Why boast of yourself in evil, O mighty man? The kindness of Elohim is perpetual.
2 Your tongue devises wickedness, like a sharp razor, working deceitfully.
3 You love evil more than good, lying rather than to speak righteousness. Selah.
4 You love all devouring words, O deceitful tongue.
5 El will likewise destroy you forever; He will lay hold of you, and pluck you from your homes, and root you out of the land of the living. Selah.
6 The righteous will see and revere, and will laugh at him:
7 “Lo, they who would not make Elohim their strength, but trusted in the abundance of their riches; strengthened in their wickedness.”
8 But I am like a green olive tree in the house of Elohim; I trust in the mercy of Elohim forever and ever.
9 I will praise You forever, because You have done it, and I will wait upon Your name for good before Your saints.

Psalm 53

To the chief musician; softly, a poem of David:
The fool has said in their heart, “There is no Elohim.” Corrupt are they, committing abominable iniquity. None do good!
2 Elohim looks down from heaven upon the children of mankind, to see if there are any who understand; who seeks Elohim,
3 every one of them is gone back; they have altogether become filthy; none do good; no, not one.
4 Have the workers of iniquity no knowledge, who eat up My people as they eat bread, and have not called upon Elohim?
5 There were they in great fear, where no fear was; for Elohim has scattered the bones of those who encamp against You; You have put them to shame, because Elohim has despised them.
6 Oh, that the deliverance of Israel would come out of Zion! When Elohim brings back the captivity of His people, Jacob will rejoice, Israel will be glad.

Psalm 54

For the chief musician; on stringed instruments, a Psalm of David when the Ziphites came and said to Saul, “Does not David hide himself with us?”
Save me, O Elohim, by Your name, and judge me by Your strength.
2 Hear my prayer, O Elohim; give ear to the words of my mouth.
3 For strangers have risen against me and oppressors seek after my soul; they have not set Elohim before them. Selah.
4 Behold, Elohim is my helper; YEHOWAH is with them that uphold my soul.
5 He will reward evil unto my enemies, and cut them off in Your truth.
6 I will freely sacrifice unto You; I will praise Your name, O YEHOWAH, for it is good.
7 For He has delivered me from all trouble, and my eye has seen His desire upon my enemies.

Psalm 55

To the chief musician; on stringed instruments, a poem, a Psalm of David:
Give ear to my prayer, O Elohim; and hide not Yourself from my supplication.
2 Attend unto me, and hear me. I mourn in my complaint and make a noise;
3 because of the voice of the enemy, because of the oppression of the wicked; for they cast iniquity upon me, and in wrath they hate me.
4 My heart is pained within me, and the terrors of death are fallen upon me.
5 Fearfulness and trembling have come upon me, and horror has overwhelmed me.
6 And I said, “Oh, that I had wings like a dove! I would fly away and be at rest.
7 Lo, I would wander far off, and remain in the wilderness. Selah.
8 “I would hasten my escape from the windy storm and tempest.”
9 Destroy, O Master, and divide their tongues, for I have seen violence and strife in the city.
10 Day and night they go about it upon the walls, mischief also, and sorrow are in the midst of it.
11 Wickedness is in the midst of it; deceit and guile depart not from her streets.
12 For it was not an enemy that reproached me, then I could have borne it; nor was it one who hated me; then I would have hid myself from them,
13 but it was you, a man my equal, my guide, and my acquaintance;
14 we took sweet counsel together, and walked unto the house of Elohim in company.
15 Let death seize upon them; and let them go down living into hell; for wickedness is in their dwellings, and among them.
16 As for me, I shall call upon Elohim, and YEHOWAH will save me.
17 Evening and morning and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud; and He will hear my voice.
18 He has delivered my soul in peace from the battle against me; for there were many with me.
19 El will hear and afflict them, even they that abide of old. Selah. Because they have no changes, therefore they revere not Elohim.
20 He has put forth his hands against such as be at peace with him; he has broken his covenant.
21 The words of his mouth were smoother than butter, but war was in his heart. His words were softer than oil, his speech was smoother than butter, yet they had drawn swords.
22 Cast your burden upon YEHOWAH and He will sustain you; He will never suffer the righteous to be moved.
23 But You, O Elohim, will bring them down into the pit of destruction; bloody and deceitful men will not live out half their days. But I will trust in You.

Psalm 56

To the chief musician; with innocence, a poem of David, when the Philistines took him in Gath:
Be merciful unto me, O Elohim, for humanity has trampled upon me; fighting daily oppresses me.
2 My enemies would daily swallow me up, for they are many that fight against me, O You most High.
3 At the time I am afraid, I will put my trust in You.
4 In Elohim I will praise His word, in Elohim I have put my trust; I will not fear what flesh can do to me.
5 All day long they distort my words; all their thoughts are against me for evil.
6 They gather themselves together, they hide themselves, they mark my steps, when they wait for my soul.
7 Shall they escape by iniquity? In Your anger cast down the people, O Elohim.
8 You tell my wanderings, put your tears into your bottle; are they not in the book?
9 When I cry unto You, then shall my enemies turn back; this I know, for Elohim is for me.
10 In Elohim, will I praise His word. In YEHOWAH, will I praise His word.
11 In Elohim I have put my trust, I will not be afraid. What can man do to me?
12 Your vows are upon me, O Elohim; I will render praises unto You.
13 For You have delivered my soul from death, will not You deliver my feet from falling, that I may walk before Elohim In the light of the living.

Psalm 57

To the chief musician; destroy not, a poem of David, when he fled from Saul in the cave:
Be merciful unto me, O Elohim, be merciful unto me, for my soul trusts in You; and in the shadow of Your wings will I take refuge until calamity passes.
2 I will cry unto Elohim Most High, to El who performs all things for me.
3 He will send from heaven and save me from the reproach of him who would devour me. Selah. Elohim will send forth His mercy and His truth.
4 My soul is among lions; I lie among those who are set on fire; even the children of men, whose teeth are spears and arrows and their tongue a sharp sword.
5 Be exalted, O Elohim, above the heavens; Your glory above all the earth.
6 They have prepared a net for my steps; My soul is bowed down; They have dug a pit before me; into the midst of which they are fallen themselves. Selah.
7 My heart is fixed, O Elohim, my heart is fixed; I will sing and give praises.
8 Wake up, my glory! Wake up, lyre and harp; I will wake up early,
9 and I will praise You, O Master, among the people. I will sing unto You among the nations.
10 For Your mercy is great unto the heavens, and Your truth unto the clouds.
11Be exalted, O Elohim, above the heavens; Your glory above all the earth.

Psalm 58

To the chief musician, destroy not, an engraving of David:
Do you indeed speak righteousness, O congregation? Do you judge uprightly, O you children of men?
2 Yes, in heart you work wickedness; you weigh the violence of your hands in the earth.
3 The wicked are estranged from the womb; they go astray as soon as they are born, speaking lies.
4 Their poison is like the poison of a serpent; they are like the deaf adder that stops up her ear,
5 which will not hear the voice of charmers, who charm ever so wisely.
6 Break their teeth, O Elohim, in their mouth; break out the great teeth of the young lions, O YEHOWAH.
7 Let them melt away as waters that run continually. When they bend their bow to shoot their arrows, let them be as cut in pieces.
8 As a snail that melts, let every one of them pass away; like the untimely birth of a woman, that they may not see the sun.
9 Before your pots can feel the thorns, He will take them away as with a whirlwind; both living and those in His wrath.
10 The righteous will rejoice when they see the vengeance; He will wash his feet in the blood of the wicked,
11 so that all will say, “Verily, there is a reward for the righteous; verily, He is the Elohim that judges the earth!”

Psalm 59

To the chief musician, destroy not, an engraving of David; when Saul sent, and watched the house to kill him:
Deliver me from my enemies, O my Elohim; defend me from those that rise up against me.
2 Deliver me from the workers of iniquity, and save me from bloody men.
3 For lo, they lie in wait for my soul. The mighty are gathered against me; not for my transgression, nor for my sin, O YEHOWAH.
4 They run and prepare themselves without fault. Awake to help me, and behold.
5 You therefore, O YEHOWAH Elohim of hosts, the Elohim of Israel, awake to visit all the heathen; be not merciful to any wicked transgressors. Selah.
6 They return at evening, they make noise like dogs, and go round about the city.
7 Behold, they belch out with their mouth; swords are in their lips, for who hears?
8 But You, O YEHOWAH, will laugh at them; You will have all the heathen in derision.
9 Because of their strength, I will wait upon You, for Elohim is my defense.
10 The Elohim of mercy shall protect me. Elohim will let me see my desire upon my enemies.
11 Slay then not, unless my people forget; scatter them by Your power, and bring them down, O Master our shield.
12 For the sin of their mouth, and the words of their lips, let them even be taken in their pride, and for cursing and lying, which they speak.
13 Consume them in wrath, consume them that they may not be, and let them know that Elohim rules in Jacob unto the ends of the earth. Selah.
14 And at evening let them return, and let them make a noise like a dog, and go round about the city.
15 Let them wander up and down for meat, and grudge if they are not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of Your power; yes, I will sing aloud of Your mercy in the morning, for You have been my defense and refuge in the day of my trouble.
17 Unto You, O my strength, I will sing, for Elohim is my defense and the Elohim of my mercy.

Psalm 60

To the chief musician – with Trumpets – a poem of David, to teach; when he struggled with Aram-naharaim and with Aram-zobah, when Yehab returned, and smote of Edom in the valley of salt, twelve thousand:
O Elohim, You have cast us off, You have scattered us, You have been displeased with us; rejected us. You have broken us; You have been angry; O, turn Yourself to us again.
2 You have made the earth to tremble; You have broken it. Heal the breaches thereof, for it wavers.
3 You have shown Your people hard things. You have made us drink wine of trembling.
4 You have given a banner to those who fear You, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.
5 That Your beloved may be delivered, save with Your right hand, and hear me!
6 Elohim has spoken in His holiness: “I will rejoice, I will divide Shekem and mete out the valley of Succoth.
7 Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the strength of My head; Yehudah is My lawgiver.
8 Moab is My washbowl; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; O Philistia, shout for joy, because of Me!”
9 Who will bring me into the strong city? Who will lead me into Edom?
10 Have not You, O Elohim, cast us off? And You, O Elohim, did not go out with our armies?
11 Give us help from trouble, for vain is the help of man.
12 Through Elohim we shall do valiantly, for He it is that shall tread down our enemies.

Psalm 61

To the chief musician; upon a stringed instrument, a Psalm of David:
Hear my cry, O Elohim; attend unto my prayer.
2 From the end of the earth will I cry unto You, when my heart is overwhelmed. Lead me to the rock that is higher than I.
3 For You have been a shelter for me, a strong tower from the enemy.
4 I will abide in Your tabernacle forever; I will trust in the protection of Your wings. Selah.
5 For You, O Elohim, have heard my vows. You have given me the heritage of those that fear Your name.
6 You will prolong the king’s life; his years as many generations.
7 He will abide before Elohim forever. O prepare mercy and truth, which may preserve him.
8 So will I sing praise to Your name forever, that I may daily pay my vows.

Psalm 62

To the chief musician; a Psalm of confession from David:
Surely, my soul waits upon Elohim only; from Him comes my salvation.
2 He only is my rock and my salvation, my defense; I shall not be greatly moved.
3 How long will you imagine mischief against another, that you may all kill them? You are as a bowing wall or a tottering fence.
4 They only consult to cast them down from their excellency. They delight in lies. They bless with their mouth, but they curse inwardly. Selah.
5 My soul, wait only upon Elohim, for my expectation is from Him.
6 He only is my rock and my deliverer, my defense; I shall not be moved.
7 In Elohim is my salvation and my glory. The rock of my strength; my refuge is in Elohim.
8 Trust in Him at all times, people; pour out your heart before Him; Elohim is a refuge for us. Selah.
9 Surely men of low degree are vanity, and men of high degree are a lie; in the balances they are altogether vanity.
10 Trust not in oppression, and become not vain in robbery. If riches increase, do not set your heart upon them.
11 Elohim has spoken once; twice I have heard this: that power belongs to Elohim;
12 also unto You, Oh Master, belong mercy, for You render to every person according to their work.

Psalm 63

A Psalm of David, when he was in the wilderness of Yehudah:
O Elohim, You are my Elohim; at dawn will I seek You, for my soul thirsts for You, my flesh yearns for You in a dry and weary land where there is no water.
2 To see Your power and Your glory; thus I have seen You in the sanctuary,
3 Because Your lovingkindness is better than life, my lips will praise You.
4 Thus will I bless You while I live; I will lift up my hands in Your name.
5 My soul is satisfied as marrow and fatness, and my mouth will praise You with joyful lips.
6 When I remember You on my bed, and meditate on You in the night watches,
7 because You have been my help, therefore in the shadow of Your wings I rejoice.
8 My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me,
9 but those who seek my soul to destroy it, will go into the lower parts of the earth.
10 They will fall by the sword; they will be a portion for foxes.
11 But the king will rejoice in Elohim; everyone who swears by Him will glory, for the mouth of those that speak lies will be stopped.

Psalm 64

To the chief musician; a Psalm of David:
Hear my voice, O Elohim, in my prayer; preserve my life from fear of the enemy.
2 Hide me from the secret counsel of the wicked; from the company of the workers of evil,
3 who sharpen their tongue like a sword, and bend their bows and arrows in bitter words;
4 to shoot in secret at the upright. Suddenly they shoot at them, and fear not.
5 They strengthen themselves in an evil matter; they talk of laying snares secretly; they say, “Who can see them?”
6 They search for perversion and accomplish their diligent search. Both the inward thought and the heart of a man are deep,
7 but Elohim will shoot at them with an arrow; suddenly they will be wounded;
8 so they will make their own tongue fall upon themselves, and all who see them will flee.
9 And all men will fear, and will declare the work of Elohim, and will consider His doing.
10 The righteous will be glad in YEHOWAH, and will trust in Him; and all the upright in heart will glory.

Psalm 65

To the chief musician; a Psalm and song of David:
Praise waits upon You in Zion, O Elohim, and to You the will the vow be fulfilled.
2 O You who hear prayer, to You all flesh come.
3 Iniquities prevail against us; yet You shall make an atonement for our transgressions.
4 Blessed are they whom You choose, and cause to approach You, that they may dwell in Your courts. We will be satisfied with the goodness of Your house; Your holy temple.
5 By fearful things in righteousness You answer us, O Elohim of our deliverance; You who are the assurance to all the ends of the earth, and to those that are far off across the sea;
6 who by His strength erected the mountains; girded with power;
7 who stills the noise of the seas, the noise of their waves, and the tumult of the people.
8 They that dwell in the uttermost parts fear Your signs; You make the dawn of the morning and the sunset rejoice.
9 You visit the earth and water it; You greatly enrich it from the river of Elohim, which is full of water. You prepare their grain, for You have provided for it.
10 You water its ridges abundantly, You settle its furrows; You make it soft with showers, You bless its growth.
11 You crown the year with Your goodness, and Your paths drop fatness.
12 They drop upon the pastures of the wilderness, and the hills rejoice of every side.
13 The pastures are clothed with flocks; the valleys also are covered with grain; they shout for joy; they also sing.

Psalm 66

To the chief musician; a Song, a Psalm:
Make a joyful noise unto Elohim, all the lands;
2 Sing forth the honor of His name; make His praise glorious.
3 Say to Elohim, “How fearful are Your works! Through the greatness of Your power shall Your enemies submit themselves unto You.
4 All the earth will worship You, and will sing unto You; they will sing to Your name.” Selah.
5 Come and see the works of Elohim. Fearful works toward the children of men.
6 He turned the sea into dry land; they went through the river on foot; there did we rejoice in Him!
7 He rules by His power forever; His eyes behold the nations; let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah.
8 O Bless our Elohim, you people, and make the voice of His praise be heard,
9 who holds our soul in life, and ordains that our feet not be moved.
10 For You, O Elohim, have examined us. You have refined us as silver is refined.
11 You brought us into the net; You laid affliction upon our loins.
12 You made men to ride over our heads; we went through fire and through water, but You brought us out into a wealthy place.
13 I will come into Your house with burnt offerings; I will pay You my vows,
14 which my lips have uttered and my mouth has spoken, when I was in trouble.
15 I will offer unto You burnt offerings of fatlings, with the incense of rams; I will offer bulls with goats. Selah.
16 Come and hear, all who fear Elohim, and I will declare what He has done for my soul.
17 I cried to Him with my mouth, and He was extolled with my tongue.
1 8If I regard wickedness in my heart, YEHOWAH will not hear me;
19 but truly Elohim has heard; He has given regard to the voice of my prayer.
20 Blessed be Elohim, who has not turned away my prayer, nor His mercy from me.

Psalm 67

To the chief musician; with stringed instruments, a Psalm or Song:
Elohim be merciful unto us and bless us, and cause His face to shine upon us; – Selah –
2 so that Your way may be known upon the earth, Your deliverance among all nations.
3 Let the people praise You, O Elohim; let all the people praise You.
4 Let the nations be glad and sing for joy; for You will judge the people righteously, and govern the nations upon earth. Selah.
5 Let the people praise You, O Elohim; let all the people praise You.
6 That the earth shall yield her increase; and Elohim, our Elohim shall bless us.
7 Elohim shall bless us, and all the ends of the earth may revere Him.

Psalm 68

To the chief musician; a Psalm or Song of David:
Let Elohim rise up, let His enemies be scattered, and let those that hate Him flee before Him.
2 As smoke is driven away, so drive them away; as wax melts before the fire, so let the wicked perish from the face of Elohim.
3 But let the righteous be glad; let them rejoice before Elohim; yes, let them rejoice with gladness.
4 Sing to Elohim, sing praises to His name; exalt Him who rides upon the heavens, whose name is YEHOWAH, and rejoice before Him.
5 A father of the fatherless and a judge for the widows is Elohim in His holy habitation.
6 Elohim dwells in a united house; He leads out the captives into prosperity, but the rebellious He makes to dwell in a dry land.
7 O Elohim, when You went forth before Your people, when You marched through the wilderness, Selah;
8 the earth shook; the heavens also dropped rain at the presence of Elohim; Sinai itself moved in the presence of Elohim, the Elohim of Israel.
9 You, O Elohim, sent an abundant rain; thereby establishing Your inheritance when it was weary.
10 Your creatures dwelt therein; You, O Elohim, prepared from Your goodness for the poor.
11 The Master gave the word, and great is the host that proclaimed,
12 “Kings of armies flee, they did flee, and they who remained at home divided the spoil!”
13 Though you lie down among the stalls, You are as the wings of a dove covered in silver, with feathers of yellow gold.
14 When the Almighty scattered the kings there, it was as snow in Zalmon.
15 The hill of Elohim is as the hill of Bashan; a high hill is the hill of Bashan.
16 Why be jealous, O mountains with the hill in which Elohim desires to dwell? Surely YEHOWAH will dwell there forever.
17 The chariots of Elohim are a myriad of thousands upon thousands; YEHOWAH is among them, in Sinai; in holiness.
18 You have ascended on high, You have carried away Your captives; You have received gifts of mankind; yes, of the rebellious also, that YEHOWAH Elohim might dwell among them.
19 Blessed be the Master, who daily bears us; the Elohim who is our deliverance. Selah.
20 Our Elohim is the Elohim of deliverance; and in YEHOWAH the Master is deliverance from death.
21 Surely Elohim will crush the head of His enemies, the bristling scalp of one as goes on still in their sins.
22 YEHOWAH said, “I will bring them back from Bashan. I will bring my people again from the depths of the sea,
23 that your foot may be dipped in the blood of your enemies, and the tongue of your dogs in the same.”
24 They have seen Your going, O Elohim, the going of my El, my King, in the sanctuary.
25 The singers went before, the musicians after, and in their midst were the maidens playing with timbrels.
26 Bless you Elohim in the congregations; even YEHOWAH from the fountain of Israel.
27 There is little Benyahmin their ruler, the princes of Yehudah and their council, the princes of Zebulun, the princes of Naphtali.
28 Your Elohim has commanded your strength; strengthen, O Elohim, that which You have done for us.
29 Because of Your temple at Jerusalem will kings bring presents to You.
30 Rebuke the beasts of the reeds, the multitude of the bulls, with the calves of the people, and trample the pieces of silver; and scatter the people who delight in war.
31 Princes will come out of Egypt; Cush will hastily stretch out their hands unto Elohim.
32 Sing to Elohim, O kingdoms of the earth, O sing praises unto YEHOWAH, Selah.
33 To Him who rides upon the heavens of heavens, of antiquity; behold, He speaks forth His voice; a mighty voice.
34 Ascribe strength unto Elohim; His majesty is over Israel and His strength is in the clouds.
35 O Elohim, be revered in Your holy place. The Elohim of Israel is He that gives strength and power to the people. Blessed be Elohim!

Psalm 69

To the chief musician, upon a Trumpet; a Psalm of David:
Save me, O Elohim, for the waters have come in unto my soul.
2 I sink in deep mire, where there is no foothold; I am come into deep waters, where the flood overflows me.
3 I am weary of my crying; my throat burns; my eyes fail while I wait for my Elohim.
4 Those who hate me without cause are more than the hairs of my head; those who would destroy me, my enemies wrongfully, are mighty; and I restore that which I did not take away.
5 O Elohim, You know my foolishness, and my sins are not hidden from You.
6 Let not those that wait on You, O Master YEHOWAH of hosts, be ashamed for my sake.  Let not those that seek You be confounded for my sake, O Elohim of Israel,
7 because for Your sake I have borne reproach; shame has covered my face.
8 I have become a stranger to my brethren, and an alien to my mother’s children.
9 For the zeal of Your house consumes me, and the reproaches of those who reproach You have fallen upon me.
10 When I wept, and humbled my soul with fasting, it became a reproach upon me.
11 When I made sackcloth my clothing, I became a proverb to them.
12 Those who sit in the gate speak against me, and I am the song of the drunkards.
13 But as for me, my prayer is to You, O YEHOWAH, in an acceptable time; O Elohim, in the abundance of Your mercy hear me, in the truth of Your deliverance,
14 deliver me from the mire and let me not sink; let me be delivered from them that hate me, and out of the deep waters.
15 Let not the flood of water overflow me, neither let the deep swallow me up, and let not the pit shut its mouth upon me.
16 Hear me, O YEHOWAH, for Your loving-kindness is good; turn unto me according to the abundance of Your tender mercy,
17 and hide not Your face from Your servant, for I am in trouble.  Hear me speedily.
18 Draw near unto my soul and redeem it; deliver me because of my enemies!
19 You know my reproach, and my shame, and my dishonor; my adversaries are all before You.
20 Reproach has broken my heart, and I am distressed.  And I looked for pity, but there was none, and for comforters, but I found none.
21 They gave me also gall for my meat; and in my thirst they gave me vinegar to drink.
22 Let their table become a snare before them; and that which was to be for their welfare, become a trap.
23 Let their eyes be darkened, so that they may not see, and make their loins shake continually.
24 Pour out Your indignation upon them, and let Your wrathful anger take hold of them.
25 Let their habitation be desolate; and let none dwell in their tents.
26 For they persecute whom You have smitten, and they talk to the grief of those whom You have wounded.
27 Add iniquity unto their iniquity, and let them not come into Your righteousness.
28 Let them be blotted out of the book of life, and not be recorded with the righteous.
29 But I am afflicted and sorrowful.  Let Your salvation, O Elohim, set me on high.
30 I will praise the Name of Elohim with a song, and magnify Him with thanksgiving,
31 and please YEHOWAH better than an ox or a bull with horns and hoofs.
32 The humble shall see and be glad; and your heart shall live who seek Elohim.
33 For YEHOWAH hears the poor, and despises not the prisoners.
34 Let heaven and earth praise Him, the seas and everything that moves in them.
35 For Elohim will save Zion, and will build the cities of Yehudah, that they may dwell there and possess it.
36 The seed of His servants will inherit it, and those that love His Name will dwell in it.

Psalm 70

To the chief musician; a Psalm of David to bring remembrance:
O Elohim, deliver me; make hast to help me, O YEHOWAH.
2 Let them be ashamed and confounded who seek after my soul; let them be turned back and put to shame who desire my hurt.
3 Let them be turned back in shame as reward that say, “Aha, aha!”
4 Let all that seek You rejoice and be glad in You; and let those who love Your salvation say continually, “Let Elohim be magnified.”
5 But I am poor and needy; hasten unto me, O Elohim! You are my help and my deliverer; O YEHOWAH, tarry not.

Psalm 71

In You, O YEHOWAH, I do put my trust. Let me never be put in confusion.
2 Deliver me in Your righteousness, and carry me to safety. Incline Your ear unto me and save me.
3 Be unto me a strong habitation, to whom I may continually resort, for You have given commandment to save me, for You are my rock and my fortress.
4 Carry me away, O my Elohim, out of the hand of the wicked, out of the hand of the unrighteous and cruel.
5 For You are my hope; O Master YEHOWAH; my trust from my youth.
6 By You I have been sustained from the womb. You are He who took me from my mother’s womb. My praise is continually of You.
7 I am a wonder to many, but You are my strong refuge.
8 Let my mouth be filled with Your praise, and with Your glory all the day.
9 Cast me not off in the time of old age; forsake me not when my strength fails,
10 for my enemies speak against me; and they that way wait for my soul take counsel together,
11 saying, “Elohim has forsaken him; pursue and take him, for there is none to deliver.”
12 O Elohim, be not far from me; O my Elohim, make haste for my help!
13 Let them be confounded and consumed that are adversaries to my soul; let them be covered with reproach and dishonor, that seek my hurt.
14 But I will hope continually, and will praise You yet more and more.
15 My mouth will declare Your righteousness and Your deliverance all the day; for I know not their numbers.
16 I will go in the strength of Master YEHOWAH, and I will make mention of Your righteousness, Yours only.
17 O Elohim, You have taught me from my youth, and till not I have declared Your wondrous works.
18 Now also, when I am old and gray, O Elohim, forsake me not, until I have shown Your strength to this generation, and Your power to everyone that is to come;
19 Your righteousness also, O Elohim, reaches from the heavens, for You who have done great things. O Elohim, who is like You?
20 You who have shown me many great troubles. Quicken me again, and will bring me up again from the depths of the earth.
21 Increase my greatness and comfort me round about.
22 I will also praise You with a lyre, Your truth, O my Elohim; unto You I will sing praises with the lyre, O Holy One of Israel.
23 My lips will greatly rejoice when I sing unto You, and my soul, which You have redeemed.
24 My tongue also will talk of Your righteousness all the day long; for they are confounded, for they are brought to shame that seek my hurt.

Psalm 72

A Psalm for Solomon:
Give the king Your judgments, O Elohim, and Your righteousness unto the king’s son.
2 He shall judge Your people with righteousness and Your poor with judgment.
3 The mountains shall bring peace to the people, and the hills, by righteousness.
4 He will judge the poor of the people. He shall save the children of the needy, and will break in pieces the oppressor.
5 Let them fear You as long as the sun and moon endure, throughout all generations.
6 He shall come down like rain upon the mown grass, as showers that water the earth.
7 In his days shall the righteous flourish, and abundance of peace so long as the moon endures.
8 He shall also have dominion from sea to sea, and from the river unto the ends of the earth.
9 They that dwell in the wilderness shall bow before him; and his enemies shall lick the dust.
10 The kings of Tarshish and of the islands shall bring presents; the kings of Sheba and Seba offer gifts.
11 Yes, all kings shall bow down before him, all nations shall serve him.
12 For he will deliver the needy when they cry for help, the poor also, and they who have no helper.
13 He will be compassionate to the poor and needy, and will save the souls of the needy.
14 He will redeem their soul from deceit and violence, and precious shall be their blood in his sight;
15 and he shall live, and to him shall the gold of Sheba be given. Prayer also shall be made for him continually, and daily shall he be praised.
16 There shall be a handful of grain in the earth upon the top of the mountains; the fruit of it shall shake like Lebanon, and the city shall flourish like the grass of the earth.
17 His name shall endure forever. His name shall continue as long as the sun, and in Him shall the people be blessed; all the nations will call Him blessed.
18 Blessed be YEHOWAH Elohim, the Elohim of Israel, who alone does wondrous things.
19 And blessed be His glorious name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with His glory. Amen, and Amen.
20 The prayers of David the son of Jesse are ended.

Psalm 73

A Psalm of Asaph:
Surely Elohim is good to Israel, to those that are of a clean heart!
2 But as for me, my journey was almost perverted, my steps had almost slipped.
3 For I was envious of the glory as I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4 For there are no fetters in their death, and their body is plump.
5 They are not in trouble as others, nor are they plagued like mankind.
6 Therefore pride encompasses them as a necklace, and unrighteousness covers them as a garment.
7 Their eyes bulge from fatness; and they have more than the heart could wish.
8 They are corrupt and speak of oppression; they speak loftily.
9 They set their mouth against the heavens, and their tongues wag through the earth.
10 Therefore people return to this place, and waters in full are squeezed out for them.
11 And they say, “How does Elohim know? And is there knowledge that is Supreme?”
12 Behold, these are the wicked; and they prosper in the world; they increase riches.
13 Surely I have cleansed my heart in vain, and washed my hands in innocence;
14 for I have been plagued all day long and chastened every morning.
15 If I say, “I will speak thus,” behold, I would have dealt deceitfully with the generation of Your children.
16 When I sought to know this, it too was painful for me;
17 until I went into the sanctuary of El; then I understood their end.
18 Surely You set them in slippery places, and You cast them down into destruction.
19 How they are made desolate, as in a moment! They are utterly consumed with terrors!
20 As a dream when one awakes, O Master, when You awake, You will despise their vanity.
21 Thus my heart was grieved, and in my mind I was pierced,
22 and I was foolish and ignorant; I was like a beast before You.
23 Nevertheless I am continually with You; You have taken hold of my right hand.
24 You guide me with Your counsel, and afterward receive me to glory.
25 Whom have I in the heavens? And there is none upon earth I desire beside You.
26 My flesh and my heart may fail, but Elohim is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.
27 For, behold, those who are far from You will perish; You have destroyed all those who go whoring from You.
28 But it is good for me to draw near unto Elohim; I have put my trust in Master YEHOWAH, that I may declare all Your works.

Psalm 74

A poem of Asaph:
O Elohim, why have You forsaken us forever? Why does Your anger smoke against the sheep of Your pasture?
2 Remember Your congregation, which You have purchased of old, the branch of Your inheritance, which You have redeemed; this Mount Zion, wherein You dwell.
3 Lift up Your feet toward the perpetual desolations; the enemy has done wickedly in the sanctuary.
4 Your enemies roar in the midst of Your assembly; they have set their own marks as signs.
5 Regard was accorded as one lifted up stricken upon thick trees,
6 but now they break down the carved work of it with axes and hammers,
7 and they have burned Your sanctuary to the ground, and have defiled the dwelling place of Your name.
8 They say in their hearts, “Let us destroy them altogether.” They have burned all the synagogues of El in the land.
9 We see not our signs; there is no more any prophet, nor is there any among us who knows how long.
10 O Elohim, how long will the adversary blaspheme, and the enemy despise Your name forever?
11 Why do You withdraw Your hand, even Your right hand? From Your bosom destroy them!
12 But Elohim is my king from of old, working deliverance in the midst of the earth.
13 You divided the sea by Your strength; You broke the heads of the monsters in the waters.
14 You crushed the heads of Leviathan, and gave him as meat to the people inhabiting the wilderness.
15 You broke open the fountains of the flood. You dried up the mighty rivers.
16 The day is Yours, the night also. You have made the light and the sun.
17 You have set all the borders of the earth; You have made summer and winter
18 Remember this, the enemy has blasphemed, O YEHOWAH, and a foolish people have despised Your name.
19 Deliver not the soul of Your turtledove unto the multitude; forget not the multitude of Your poor forever.
20 Regard the covenant; for the dark places of the earth are full of the habitations of cruelty.
21 O Let not the oppressed return ashamed; let the poor and need praise Your name.
22 Rise up, O Elohim, and plead Your own cause; remember how the foolish man reproaches You daily,
23 and forget not the voice of Your enemies. The uproar of those who rise up against You ascends continually.

Psalm 75

To the chief musician, “Thou must not destroy”, a Psalm or song of Asaph:
Unto You, O Elohim, do we give thanks, do we give thanks. For Your name is near; Your wondrous works declare,
2 “When I take the assembly, I will judge uprightly.
3 The earth and all who dwell therein will disappear, for it is I who measured out the pillars of it.” Selah.
4 “I said to the foolish, ‘Act not foolishly,’ and to the wicked, ‘Lift not up the horn;
5 lift not up your horn on high, and speak not with arrogance.’”
6 For exaltation comes neither from the east, nor from the west, nor from the south,
7 but Elohim is the Judge; He puts down one and exalts another.
8 For in the hand of YEHOWAH is a cup, and the wine is red; it is full of mixture, and He pours out of the same. But the dregs of it; all the wicked of the earth shall drink of it.
9 But I will proclaim it forever; I will sing praises to the Elohim of Jacob.
10 “All the horns of the wicked also will I cut off, but the horns of the righteous will be exalted”.

Psalm 76

To the chief musician; on stringed instruments, a Psalm or song of Asaph:
In Yehudah Elohim is known. His name is great in Israel.
2 In Salem also is His tabernacle; and His dwelling place in Zion.
3 There He broke the arrows of the bows, the shield and the sword and the battle. Selah.
4 You are more glorious and excellent than the mountains of prey.
5 The stouthearted are plundered, they slept their sleep, and none of the men of might have found their hands.
6 At Your rebuke, O Elohim of Jacob, both the chariot and horse are cast into a dead sleep.
7 You, even You, are to be feared; and who may stand in Your presence when once You are angry?
8 You caused judgment to be heard from heaven; the earth feared and was still
9 Elohim rose up for judgment, to save all the humble of the earth. Selah.
10 Surely the wrath of man shall praise You; with a remnant of wrath You will gird Yourself.
11 Vow, and pay unto YEHOWAH your Elohim. And let all who are round about Him bring presents unto He who is to be feared.
12 He will cut off the spirit of princes; He is revered by the kings of the earth.

Psalm 77

To the chief musician; a laudatory, a Psalm of Asaph:
I cried unto Elohim with my voice, unto Elohim with my voice, and he gave ear unto me.
2 In the day of my trouble I sought the Master; in the night my strength was poured out, and ceased not; and my soul refused to be comforted.
3 I remembered Elohim and was troubled; I complained, and my spirit was overwhelmed. Selah.
4 You hold open my eyelids; I am so troubled that I cannot speak.
5 I have considered the days of old, the years of ancient times.
6 I call to remembrance my song in the night; I commune with my own heart, and my spirit made diligent search.
7 Will the Master forsake forever? And will He be favorable no more?
8 Is His lovingkindness gone forever? Does His promise come to an end forevermore?
9 Has El forgotten to be gracious? Has He in anger shut up His tender love? Selah.
10 And I said, “This is my infirmity, that I remember the years at the right hand of the Most High.”
11 I will remember the works of YAH; surely I will remember Your wonders of old.
12 I will meditate also on all Your work, and ponder upon Your deeds.
13 Your way, O Elohim, is holy; who is such a great el as our Elohim?
14 You are the El who works wonders; You have made known Your strength among the people.
15 You have, with Your power, redeemed Your people, the children of Jacob and Yehoseph. Selah.
16 The waters saw You, O Elohim; the waters saw You; they were afraid; the deeps also trembled.
17 The clouds poured out water; the skies sent out a sound; Your arrows also went abroad.
18 The voice of Your thunder was in the heavens; the lightning lit up the world; the earth trembled and shook.
19 Your way was in the sea and Your paths in the great waters, and Your footsteps are not known.
20 You led Your people like a flock by the hand of Moses and Aaron.

Psalm 78

A poem of Asaph:
Give ear, O my people, to my law; incline your ears to the words of my mouth.
2 I will open my mouth in a parable; I will utter dark sayings of old;
3 which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us.
4 We will not hide them from the children, showing to the generation to come the praises of YEHOWAH, and His strength, and His wondrous works that He has done.
5 For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers that they should make them known to their children,
6 that the generation to come might know, and that the children yet to be born, should rise up and declare them to their children,
7 that they would set their hope in Elohim, and not forget the works of El, but keep His commandments,
8 and not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, a generation that did not set their heart right, and whose spirit was not steadfast to El.
9 The children of Ephraim were armed, carrying bows, and turned back in the day of battle.
10 They kept not the covenant of Elohim and refused to walk in His law;
11 and forgot His works, and His wonders that He has shown them.
12 Marvelous things did He in the sight of their fathers, in the land of Egypt, in the field of Zoan.
13 He divided the sea and caused them to pass through, and He made the waters to stand as a heap.
14 In the daytime also He led them with the cloud; and by night with a light of fire.
15 He split the rocks in the wilderness, and gave them drink, as from the great depths.
16 He brought forth streams also from the rock and caused waters to run down like rivers.
17 And they sinned yet more against Him, by provoking the Most High in the wilderness.
18 And they tested El in their heart, by asking meat according to their desire.
19 Yes, they spoke against Elohim; they said, “Can El set a table in the wilderness?
20 Behold, He struck the rock and waters gushed out, and streams overflowed; can He give bread also? Can He provide meat for His people?”
21 Therefore YEHOWAH heard, and was full of wrath; and a fire was kindled against Jacob and anger also came up against Israel,
22 because they believed not in Elohim, and trusted not in His deliverance.
23 Though He had commanded the clouds above, and opened the doors of heaven;
24 and had rained down manna upon them to eat, and had given them of the wheat of heaven.
25 Man did eat the food of angels; He sent them food to the full.
26 He caused an east wind to blow in the heavens, and by His power He brought in the south wind.
27 He rained meat also upon them as dust, and feathered fowl as the sand of the sea,
28 and He let them fall in the midst of their encampment, round about their dwellings.
29 So they ate and were well filled, for He gave them their own desire.
30 They were not estranged from their lusts, for while the meat was yet in their mouths,
31 the wrath of Elohim came upon them, and killed the fattest of them, and struck down the chosen of Israel.
32 Through all this they sinned still, and believed not in His wonderful works.
33 Therefore their days He consumed in vanity, and their years in trouble.
34 When He killed them, then they sought Him, and returned and inquired early after El.
35 And they remembered that Elohim was their rock, and the Most High El their Redeemer.
36 Nevertheless, they deceived Him with their mouth and they lied to Him with their tongues;
37 for their heart was not right with Him, nor were they faithful in His covenant.
38 But He, being compassionate, forgave their sins, and destroyed them not; and many times turned His anger away, and did not stir up all His wrath.
39 For He remembered that they were but flesh; a wind that passes away, and comes not again.
40 How often did they provoke Him in the wilderness and grieve Him in the desert!
41 They turned back and tempted El, and grieved the Holy One of Israel.
42 They remembered not His power, nor the day when He delivered them from the enemy,
43 how He set His signs in Egypt and His wonders in the field of Zoan,
44 and turned their rivers to blood, and their streams, they could not drink.
45 He sent among them swarms of flies, which devoured them, and frogs, which destroyed them.
46 He gave also their increase to the grasshopper and their labor to the locust.
47 He destroyed their vines with hail and their sycamore trees with frost.
48 He gave up their cattle also to the hail, and their flocks to hot thunderbolts.
49 He cast upon them the fierceness of His anger, wrath, indignation and trouble, by sending evil messengers.
50 He made a path for His anger; He spared not their soul from death, but gave their life over to the pestilence,
51 and smote all the firstborn in Egypt, the first issue of their strength in the tabernacles of Ham.
52 But He made His own people go forth like sheep, and guided them in the wilderness like a flock;
53 And He led them on safely, so that they feared not; but the sea overwhelmed their enemies.
54 And He brought them to the border of His sanctuary; even to this mountain, which His right hand had procured.
55 He cast out the nations also before them, and divided unto them an inheritance by line, and made the tribes of Israel to dwell in their tents.
56 Yet they tempted and provoked the Most High Elohim, and kept not His testimonies,
57 but turned back, and dealt unfaithfully like their fathers; they were turned aside like a deceitful bow.
58 For they provoked Him to anger with their high places, and moved Him to jealousy with their graven images.
59 When Elohim heard, He was filled with wrath, and greatly abhorred Israel;
60 so that He forsook the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent which He placed among men,
61 and gave up His strength to captivity, and His glory into the enemy’s hand.
62 He gave His people over also unto the sword, and was filled with wrath toward His inheritance.
63 Fire consumed their young men and their maidens were not given in marriage.
64 Their priests fell by the sword, and their widows made no lamentations.
65 Then the Master awakened as if from sleep; like a mighty man shouts by reason of wine.
66 And He struck His enemies from behind, and He put them to everlasting reproach.
67 Moreover He rejected the tabernacle of Yehoseph, and chose not the tribe of Ephraim,
68 but chose the tribe of Yehudah, Mount Zion which He loves.
69 And He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth which He has established forever.
70 He chose David also His servant, and took him from the sheepfolds;
71 from following the ewes with lambs, and He brought him to shepherd Jacob His people, and Israel His inheritance.
72 So he fed them according to the integrity of his heart, and guided them by the skillfulness of his hands.

Psalm 79

A Psalm of Asaph:
O Elohim, the nations have come into Your inheritance; they have defiled Your holy temple; they have laid Jerusalem in heaps.
2 The dead bodies of Your servants they have given to the birds of the heavens, the flesh of Your saints to the beasts of the earth.
3 Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem, and there was none to bury them.
4 We have become a reproach to our neighbors, a scorn and derision to those that are round about us.
5 How long, YEHOWAH? Will You be angry forever? Will Your jealousy burn like fire?
6 Pour out Your wrath upon the nations that have not known You, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon Your name.
7 For they have devoured Jacob and laid waste his dwelling place.
8 O remember not former iniquities; let Your tender mercies quickly come to us; for we are brought very low.
9 Help us, O Elohim of our deliverance, for the glory of Your name; and deliver us and take away our sins for Your name’s sake.
10 Why should the nations say, “Where is their Elohim?” O be known among the nations in our sight by the revenging of the blood of Your servants, which they have shed.
11 Let the sighing of the prisoner come before You; according to the greatness of Your power preserve those appointed to die.
12 And render unto our neighbors sevenfold into their bosom the reproach with which they have reproached You, O Master.
13 So we Your people and the sheep of Your pasture will give You thanks forever. We will show forth Your praise to all generations.

Psalm 80

To the chief musician; with trumpets, a Psalm of Asaph:
Give ear, O Shepherd of Israel, You who lead Yehoseph like a flock; You who dwell between the cherubim, shine forth!
2 Before Ephraim and Benyahmin and Manasseh, stir up Your might, come and save us!
3 Turn unto us again, O Elohim, and cause Your face to shine, and we will be saved.
4 O YEHOWAH Elohim of hosts, how long will You be angry against the prayer of Your people?
5 You feed them with the bread of tears, and give them tears to drink in great measure.
6 You make us contend with our neighbors, and our enemies laugh among themselves.
7 Turn unto us again, O Elohim of hosts, and cause Your face to shine, and we will be saved.
8 You have brought a vine out from Egypt; You cast out the nations and planted it.
9 You prepared a place before it, and caused it to take deep root; and it filled the land.
10 The hills were covered with its shadow, and the boughs of it were like the cedars of El.
11 It sent forth its boughs unto the sea, and its branches unto the river.
12 Why have You broken down its hedges, so that all who pass by the way gather of it?
13 The boar out of the forest lays it waste, and the wild beasts of the field feed on it.
14 Return, we beseech You, O Elohim of hosts, regard us again from heaven, and visit this vine,
15 and the vineyard, which Your right hand has planted, and the branch that you made strong for Yourself.
16 It is burned with fire, it is cut down; they perish at the rebuke of Your countenance.
17 Let Your hand be upon the man of Your right hand, upon the son of man whom You made strong for Yourself.
18 So that we will not turn back from You; revive us, and we will call upon Your name.
19Turn unto us again, O YEHOWAH Elohim of hosts, cause Your face to shine, and we will be saved.

Psalm 81

To the chief musician; upon the harp, a Psalm of Asaph:
Sing for joy unto Elohim our strength; shout for joy unto the Elohim of Jacob.
2 Lift up a song, bring forth the tambourine, the delightful harp with the lyre.
3 Sound the trumpet at the new moon, at the appointed time of our solemn feast days.
4 For this is a statute for Israel, a judgment of the Elohim of Jacob.
5 He ordained it for a testimony in Yehoseph, when he went our through the land of Egypt, where he heard a language that he knew not.
6 “I removed the burden from his shoulder; his hands were delivered from the pots.
7 You called in trouble and I delivered you; I answered you under the cover of thunder; I proved you at the waters of Meribah.” Selah.
8 “Hear, O My people, and I will witness unto you; O Israel, if you will hear Me!
9 There shall no strange el be in you; neither shall you worship any strange el.
10 I, YEHOWAH, your Elohim, who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide and I will fill it.
11 But My people will not hear My voice, and Israel would have none of Me.
12 So I gave them up to the lusts of their heart, and they walked in their own counsel.
13 Oh that My people would hear Me, that Israel would walk in My ways!
14 I would soon have subdued their enemies, and turned My hand against their adversaries.
15 The haters of YEHOWAH should have submitted unto Him, that their time could have endured forever,
16 and He would have fed them with the finest of the wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you.”

Psalm 82

A Psalm of Asaph:
Elohim stands in the congregation of the mighty; He judges among the elohim:
2 “How long will you judge unjustly, and regard the face of the wicked?” Selah.
3 “Defend the poor and fatherless; do justice to the afflicted and needy.
4 Deliver the poor and needy; pluck them out of the hand of the wicked.
5 They know not, neither do they understand; they walk on in darkness; all the foundations of the earth are out of course.
6 I said, ‘You are elohim! All of you are children of the Most High.
7 But you will die as common sort, and fall like one of the princes.’”
8 Rise up, O Elohim, judge the earth, for You shall inherit all nations.

Psalm 83

A Song or Psalm of Asaph:
Keep not quiet, O Elohim, hold not Your silence, and be not still, O El.
2 For behold, Your enemies make an uproar, and those that hate You lift up their head.
3 In cunning they counsel against Your people, and consult against Your protected ones.
4 They have said, “Come, and let us cut them off as a nation, that the name of Israel be remembered no more.”
5 For they have consulted together with one heart; and are in confederacy against You.
6 The tents of Edom and the Ishmaelites, Moab and the Hagrite;
7 Gebal, Ammon and Amalek; the Philistines with the inhabitants of Tyre;
8 Asshur also is joined with them; they have become a help to the children of Lot. Selah.
9 Do unto them as unto the Midianites, as unto Sisera and Jabin at the brook of Kishon,
10 Who perished at En-Dor, and became as manure for the soil.
11 Make their nobles like Oreb and Zeeb and all their princes like Zebah and Zalmunna,
12 who said, “Let us possess for ourselves the houses of Elohim.”
13 O my Elohim, make them like the whirlwind; as the stubble before the wind.
14 Like fire burns wood, and like a flame that sets the mountains on fire,
15 so pursue them with Your tempest, and terrify them with Your storm.
16 Fill their faces with shame, that they may seek Your name, O YEHOWAH.
17 Let them be disappointed and troubled forever, and let them be ashamed and perish,
18 that they may know that You alone, whose name is YEHOWAH, are the Most High over all the earth.

Psalm 84

To the chief musician; upon the Harp, a Psalm of the sons of Korah:
How beloved is Your house, O YEHOWAH of hosts!
2 My soul longs, yes, even faints for the courts of YEHOWAH; my heart and my flesh cry out to the living El.
3 Yes, the sparrow has found a house, and the swallow a nest where she may lay her young, even Your altars, O YEHOWAH of hosts, my King and my Elohim.
4 Blessed are those who dwell in Your house! They will evermore be praising You. Selah.
5 Blessed are they whose strength is in You; whose heart is a viaduct.
6 Passing through the valley of Baca they make it a well; the rain also fills it with blessings.
7 They go from strength to strength in Zion, appearing before Elohim.
8 O YEHOWAH Elohim of hosts, hear my prayer; give ear, O Elohim of Jacob! Selah.
9 Behold, O Elohim, our shield, and look upon the face of Your anointed,
10 for a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my Elohim, than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
11 For YEHOWAH Elohim is a sun and shield; YEHOWAH will gives grace and glory. Nothing good will He withhold from those who walk uprightly.
12 O YEHOWAH of hosts, blessed are they who trust in You!

Psalm 85

To the chief musician, a Psalm of the sons of Korah:
YEHOWAH, has been favorable to Your land; You have turned back the captivity of Jacob.
2 You have forgiven the iniquity of Your people; You have covered all their sin. Selah.
3 You withdrew all Your wrath; You turned from the fierceness of Your wrath.
4 Turn back to us, O Elohim of our deliverance, and cause Your anger with us to cease.
5 Will You be angry with us forever? Will You draw out Your anger to all generations?
6 Will You not revive us again, that Your people may rejoice in You?
7 Show us Your lovingkindness, O YEHOWAH, and grant us Your salvation.
8 I will hear what El YEHOWAH will say; for He will speak peace to His people; to His saints, but let them not turn back again to folly.
9 Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, that glory may dwell in our land.
10 Mercy and truth have met together; righteousness and peace have kissed.
11 Truth springs forth from the earth, and righteousness looks down from heaven.
12 Yes, YEHOWAH will give what is good, and our land will yield its increase.
13 Righteousness will go before Him, and will make a path for His footsteps.

Psalm 86

A Prayer of David:
Bow down Your ear, O YEHOWAH, and give heed to me; for I am afflicted and needy.
2 Preserve my soul, for I am a pious soul; O You my Elohim, save Your servant who trusts in You.
3 Be merciful unto me, O Master, for I cry unto You I cry the whole day.
4 Brighten the soul of Your servant, for unto You, O Master, I do lift up my soul.
5 For You, Master, are good, and ready to forgive, and abundant in mercy to all who call upon You.
6 Give ear, O YEHOWAH, to my prayer; and incline to the voice of my supplications!
7 In the day of my trouble I will call upon You, for You will answer me.
8 Among the elohim, there is none like You O Master; nor are there any works like unto Your works.
9 All nations whom You have made shall come and worship before You, O Master, and they shall glorify Your name.
10 For You are great and do wondrous works; You alone are Elohim.
11 Teach me Your way, O YEHOWAH; I will walk in Your truth; unite my heart to fear Your name.
12 I will give thanks to You, O Master my Elohim, with all my heart, and will glorify Your name forever.
13 For great is Your mercy toward me, and You have delivered my soul from the lowest hell.
14 O Elohim, the arrogant have risen against me, and the congregations of the violent seek for my soul; they have not set You before them.
15 But You, O Master, are an El full of compassion and grace; longsuffering, and abundant in mercy and truth.
16 Turn to me, and have mercy upon me. Give Your strength to Your servant, and save the son of Your handmaid.
17 Show me as a sign for good, that those who hate me may see it and be ashamed, because You, O YEHOWAH, have helped me and comforted me.

Psalm 87

A Psalm or Song of the sons of Korah:
His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2 YEHOWAH loves the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3 Glorious things are spoken of you, O city of Elohim. Selah.
4 “I will mention Rahab and Babylon to those that know Me; behold, Philistia and Tyre with Ethiopia; ‘Mankind was born there.’”
5 But of Zion it shall be said, “This one and that one were born in her”; and the Most High Himself will establish her.
6 YEHOWAH will count when He records the people, “This one was born there.” Selah.
7 And the singers and those who play on instruments will say, “All my springs are in you.”

Psalm 88

A Song or Psalm of the sons of Korah, to the chief musician; upon sickness or depression; a poem for the faithful seed:
O YEHOWAH Elohim of my deliverance, I have cried day and night before You.
2 Let my prayer come before You; incline Your ear to my cry!
3 For my soul is full of troubles, and my life draws near unto the grave.
4 I am regarded amongst those who going down to the pit; I am as one having no strength,
5 exempt amongst the dead, like the slain that lie in the grave, whom You remember no more, and who are cut off from Your hand.
6 You have placed me in the lowest pit, in darkness, in the depths.
7 Your wrath leans hard upon me, and You have afflicted me with all Your waves. Selah.
8 You have put my acquaintances far from me; You have made me abominable to them; I am shut up and cannot go forth.
9 My eyes mourn from misery. O YEHOWAH; I call daily upon You, and have stretched out my hands to You.
10 Will You do wonders for the dead? Will the dead rise up and praise You? Selah.
11 Will Your mercy be declared in the grave, or Your faithfulness in destruction?
12 Will Your wonders be made known in the dark, and Your righteousness in the land of forgetfulness?
13 But unto You have I cried, O YEHOWAH, and in the morning shall my prayer come before You.
14 O YEHOWAH, why do You cast off my soul? Why do You hide Your face from me?
15 I was afflicted and dying from my youth; I suffer Your fear; I am distracted.
16 Your fierce wrath crosses before me; Your terrors cut me off.
17 They are round about me daily like water; they encompass me round about altogether.
18 Lover and friend You have put far from me, and my acquaintances are in darkness.

Psalm 89

A poem of Ethan the Ezrahite:
I will sing of the mercy of YEHOWAH forever; with my mouth will I make known Your faithfulness to all generations.
2 For I have said, “Mercy will be built up forever; Your faithfulness will You establish in the heavens.”
3 “I have made a covenant with My chosen; I have sworn to David My servant,
4Your seed will I establish forever, and build up your throne to all generations.” Selah.
5 The heavens will praise Your wonders, O YEHOWAH; Your faithfulness also in the congregation of the saints.
6 For who in the heavens is comparable to YEHOWAH? Who among the children of the mighty is like YEHOWAH;
7 an El greatly to be feared in the assembly of the saints, and revered by all those about Him?
8 O YEHOWAH Elohim of hosts, who is mighty YAH compared to You, or faithful to all about You?
9 You rule the raging of the sea. When the waves of it rise up, You still them.
10 You have crushed Rahab in pieces, as one who is slain; You have scattered Your enemies with Your mighty arm.
11 The heavens are Yours, the earth also is Yours; the world and the fullness of it, You have founded them.
12 The north and the south, You have created them; Tabor and Hermon shall rejoice in Your name.
13 You have a mighty arm and strong is Your hand; and exalted is Your right hand.
14 Righteousness and judgment inhabit Your throne. Mercy and truth go forth before Your face.
15 Blessed are the people who know the joyful sound! They will walk, O YEHOWAH, in the light of Your countenance.
16 In Your name shall they rejoice all the day, and in Your righteousness they will be exalted.
17 For You are the glory of their strength, and in Your favor our horn shall be exalted.
18 For YEHOWAH is our defense; and the Holy One of Israel is our King.
19 When You spoke in vision to the pious one you said, “I lay help upon the mighty; I exalt the chosen from the people.
20 I have found David My servant; with My holy oil I have anointed him,
21 with whom My hand will be established; My arm also will strengthen them.
22 The enemy will not exact interest from him, nor will the son of wickedness afflict him.
23 I will bruise his enemies before his face, and plague those that hate him.
24 But My faithfulness and My mercy will be with him, and in My name will his horn be exalted.
25I will also set his hand on the sea and his right hand on the rivers.
26 He will cry to Me, ‘You are my Father, My El, and the rock of my salvation.’
27 Also I will make him My firstborn, higher than the kings of the earth.
28 My favor will I keep for him forever, and My covenant will be established with him.
29 His seed also will I preserve forever and his throne as the days of heaven.
30 If his children forsake My law, and walk not in My judgments,
31 if they break My statutes, and keep not My commandments,
32 then I will punish their sin with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes.
33 Yet I will not utterly take My lovingkindness from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail.
34 I will not break My covenant, nor alter the utterances of My lips.
35 Once have I sworn by My holiness; that I will not lie unto David.
36 His seed shall endure forever, and his throne as the sun before Me.
37 It will be established forever like the moon, and a faithful witness in the heavens.” Selah.
38 But You have cast off and rejected; You have been full of wrath against Your anointed.
39 You have voided the covenant of Your servant; You have profaned his crown to the ground.
40 You have broken down all his walls; You have brought his strongholds to ruin.
41 All that pass by the way plunder him; he has become a reproach to his neighbors.
42 You have upheld the right hand of his adversaries; You have made all his enemies rejoice.
43 You have also turned back the edge of his sword, and have not made him rise up in the battle.
44 You have made his glory to cease, and cast his throne down to the ground.
45 The days of his youth You have shortened; You have covered him with shame. Selah.
46 How long, YEHOWAH? Will You hide Yourself forever? Will Your wrath burn like fire?
47 Remember how short my time is, and why You have made all the children.
48 What person lives, and not see death? Can they deliver their soul from the power of the grave? Selah.
49 Master, where is Your former mercy, which You swore unto David in Your truth?
50 Remember, Master, the reproach of Your servants; how I bear in my bosom the reproach of all the many people;
51 with which Your enemies have reproached, O YEHOWAH, with which they have reproached the footsteps of Your anointed.
52 Blessed be YEHOWAH forevermore! Amen and Amen.

Psalm 90

A Prayer of Moses, the man of Elohim:
Master, You have been our dwelling place in all generations.
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, or before You formed the earth or the world, even from everlasting to everlasting, You are Elohim.
3 You turn man into dust and say, “Return, O children of men.”
4 For a thousand years in Your sight are like yesterday when it is past, or like a watch in the night.
5 You carry them away as with a flood; they are as asleep. In the morning they are like grass, which springs up.
6 In the morning it flourishes and springs up; in the evening it is cut down and withers.
7 For we are consumed by Your anger, and in Your wrath we tremble.
8 You have set our iniquities before You; our secrets in the light of Your countenance.
9 For all our days are passed away in Your wrath; we end our years as a thought.
10 The days of our years are seventy, or if by might they be eighty years, yet their strength is labor and sorrow; for they are soon cut off, and we fly away.
11 Who knows the power of Your anger and wrath, in accordance with the reverence due You?
12 So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
13 Return, O YEHOWAH; how long? And let it repent You concerning Your servants.
14 O satisfy us early with Your mercy, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad according to the days You have afflicted us, and the years we have seen evil.
16 Let Your work appear to Your servants and Your glory to their children,
17 and let the grace of the Master, our Elohim, be upon us; and establish the work of our hands upon us; yes, You establish the work of our hands.

Psalm 91

They who dwell in the secret place of the Most High will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
2 I will say of YEHOWAH, “He is my refuge and my fortress, my Elohim; in whom is my trust!”
3 Surely He will deliver you from the net of the snare, and from the ruin of the pestilence.
4 He will cover you with His feathers, and under His wings is your refuge; His truth is a shield and buckler.
5 You will not be afraid of the terror by night, nor of the arrow that flies by day;
6 nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, nor of the destruction that wastes at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, and ten thousand at your right hand, but it will not come near you.
8 Only with your eyes will you behold and see the reward of the wicked,
9 because you have made YEHOWAH your refuge; the Most High, your dwelling place.
10 No evil will befall you, nor will any plague come near unto your dwelling,
11 for He will give His angels charge over you, to guard you in all your ways.
12 They will bear you up in their hands, that you do not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread upon the lion and the adder; the young lion and the serpent you will trample under your feet.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him. I will set him on high, because he has known My name.
15 He will call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With a long life I will satisfy him, and show him My deliverance.”

Psalm 92

A psalm or song for the Sabbath day:
It is good to give thanks unto YEHOWAH, and to sing praises unto Your name, O Most High;
2 to tell of Your mercy in the morning, and Your faithfulness at night,
3 upon an instrument of ten strings, and upon the psaltery; and upon the harp, with a solemn sound.
4 For You, YEHOWAH, have made me glad through Your work. I will sing out at the works of Your hands.
5 O YEHOWAH, how great are Your works! Your thoughts are very deep.
6 A brutish man knows nothing; neither does a fool understand this:
7 When the wicked spring up like the grass, and when all the workers of iniquity flourish; it is so they shall be destroyed forevermore.
8 But You, O YEHOWAH, are on high forevermore.
9 For, behold, Your enemies, O YEHOWAH, for, behold, Your enemies will perish; all the workers of iniquity will be scattered.
10 But my horn You will exalt like the horn of a wild bull, and I shall be anointed with fresh oil.
11 My eye also shall see my desire upon my enemies; my ears shall hear my desire for the wicked that rise up against me.
12 The righteous will flourish like the palm tree; they will grow like a cedar in Lebanon.
13 Those that are planted in the house of YEHOWAH will flourish in the courts of our Elohim.
14 They will still bring forth fruit in old age; they will be fat and flourishing;
15 to declare that YEHOWAH is upright; He is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in Him.

Psalm 93

YEHOWAH reigns, He is clothed with majesty; YEHOWAH is clothed with strength, and He has girded Himself. The world also is established; that it cannot be moved.
2 Your throne is established from of old; You are from everlasting.
3 The floods have lifted up, O YEHOWAH, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.
4 YEHOWAH on high is mightier than the thunder of many waters; yes, than the mighty waves of the sea.
5 Your testimonies are firmly established. Holiness becomes Your house, O YEHOWAH, forevermore.

Psalm 94

O YEHOWAH, El to whom vengeance belongs; O El, to whom vengeance belongs, show Yourself.
2 Lift Yourself up, You Judge of the earth, render what is deserved to the proud.
3 O YEHOWAH, how long will the wicked; how long will the wicked triumph?
4 How long will they utter and speak arrogantly, so that all the workers of iniquity boast of themselves?
5 They crush Your people, O YEHOWAH, and afflict Your heritage.
6 They slay the widow and the stranger, and murder the fatherless.
7 Yet they say, “YEHOWAH shall not see, nor does the Elohim of Jacob regard it.”
8 Understand, you brutish among the people; and you fools, when will you gain wisdom?
9 He who fastened the ear, shall He not hear? He who formed the eye, shall He not see?
10 He who chastens the nations, shall He not rebuke; even He who teaches man knowledge?
11 YEHOWAH knows the thoughts of mankind, that they are vain.
12 Blessed are they whom You chasten, O YEHOWAH, and whom You teach out of Your law;
13 that You may give them rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For YEHOWAH will not cast off His people, nor will He forsake His inheritance.
15 But judgment will turn back to the righteous, and the upright in heart will follow it.
16 Who will rise up for me against evildoers? Who will stand up for me against the workers of iniquity?
17 Unless YEHOWAH had been my help, my soul had almost dwelt in silence.
18 When I said, “My foot is slipping,” Your mercy, O YEHOWAH, held me up.
19 In the abundance of my thoughts within me, Your comfort delights my soul.
20 Shall the throne of wickedness fellowship with You, Who frames iniquity by a law?
21 They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn innocent blood.
22 But YEHOWAH is my defense; and my Elohim is the rock of my refuge.
23 And He will bring upon them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness; YEHOWAH our Elohim will cut them off.

Psalm 95

O come, let us sing unto YEHOWAH. Let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
2 Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.
3 For YEHOWAH is a great El, and a great King above all elohim.
4 In His hand are the deep places of the earth; the strength of the hills is His also.
5 The sea is His, for He made it; and His hands formed the dry land.
6 Come, let us worship and bow down, let us kneel before YEHOWAH our Maker.
7 For He is our Elohim, and we are the people of His pasture and the sheep of His hand. Today, if you will hear His voice,
8 do not harden your heart, as at Meribah; as in the day of temptation in the wilderness,
9 when your fathers tempted Me, tested Me, and saw My work.
10 Forty years long I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘They are a people who err in their heart, and they do not know My ways.’
11 So I swore in My wrath, that they should not enter into My rest.”

Psalm 96

Sing unto YEHOWAH a new song; sing unto YEHOWAH, all the earth.
2 Sing unto YEHOWAH, bless His name; declare His deliverance from day to day.
3 Tell of His glory among the nations, His wonders among all the people.
4 For YEHOWAH is great, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all elohim.
5 For all the elohim of the nations are idols, but YEHOWAH made the heavens.
6 Glory and majesty are before Him, strength and beauty are in His sanctuary.
7 Give unto YEHOWAH, O you families of the people, give unto YEHOWAH glory and strength.
8 Give unto YEHOWAH the glory due unto His name; bring an offering and come into His courts.

9 O, Worship YEHOWAH in the beauty of holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 Say among the nations, “YEHOWAH reigns; in Whom the world also is firmly established, it will not be moved. He will judge the people righteously.”
11 Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad; let the sea roar, and all it contains;
12 let the field be joyful, and all that are therein. Then shall all the trees of the forest rejoice
13 before YEHOWAH. For He comes! For He comes to judge the earth! He will judge the world with righteousness and the people with His truth.

Psalm 97

YEHOWAH reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the multitude of islands be glad.
2 Clouds and darkness are round about Him; righteousness and judgment are the foundation of His throne.
3 Fire goes before Him, and burns up His enemies round about.
4 His lightning enlightened the world; the earth saw and trembled.
5 The mountains melted like wax at the presence of YEHOWAH, at the presence of the Master of the whole earth.
6The heavens declare His righteousness, and all the people see His glory.
7 Let all those be ashamed that serve graven images, and boast themselves of idols. Worship Him, all you elohim.
8 Zion heard, and was glad; and the daughters of Yehudah rejoiced because of Your judgments, O YEHOWAH.
9 For You, YEHOWAH, are Most High above all the earth; You are exalted far above all elohim.
10 You who love YEHOWAH, hate evil. He preserves the souls of His pious ones; He delivers them out of the hand of the wicked.
11 Light is sown for the righteous, and gladness for the upright in heart.
12 Be glad in YEHOWAH, you righteous, and give thanks at the remembrance of His holiness.

Psalm 98

A Psalm:
O sing to YEHOWAH a new song, for He has done marvelous things. His right hand and His holy arm have gotten Him the victory.
2 YEHOWAH has made known His deliverance; His righteousness He has revealed in the sight of the nations.
3 He has remembered His mercy and His truth toward the house of Israel; all the ends of the earth have seen the deliverance of our Elohim.
4 Make a joyful noise unto YEHOWAH, all the earth. Make a loud noise and rejoice, and sing praises.
5 Sing praises unto YEHOWAH with the harp, with the harp, and the voice of a psalm.
6 With trumpets and the sound of coronets, make a joyful noise before YEHOWAH, the King,
7 Let the sea roar, and the fullness thereof; the world, and those that dwell thereon.
8 Let the rivers clap their hands, let the mountains be joyful together
9 before YEHOWAH, for He is coming to judge the earth. With righteousness He will judge the world, and the people with equity.

Psalm 99

YEHOWAH reigns, let the people tremble; He sits between the cherubim, let the earth be moved.
2 YEHOWAH is great in Zion, and He is exalted above all the people.
3 Let them praise Your great and reverent name; for He is holy.
4 The King’s strength also loves judgment; You have established equity; You execute judgment and righteousness in Jacob.
5 Exalt YEHOWAH our Elohim, and worship at His footstool; for He is holy.
6 Moses and Aaron among His priests, and Samuel was among those who call upon His name; they called upon YEHOWAH and He answered them.
7 He spoke to them in the cloudy pillar; they kept His testimonies, and the ordinance that He gave them.
8 You answered them, O YEHOWAH our Elohim, You are the El that forgave them; although You took vengeance upon their deeds.
9 Exalt YEHOWAH our Elohim, and worship at His holy hill, YEHOWAH our Elohim is holy.

Psalm 100

A Psalm of praise:
Shout joyfully unto YEHOWAH, all the nations.
2 Serve YEHOWAH with gladness; come to His presence with joyful singing.
3 Know that YEHOWAH Himself is Elohim; it is He who has made us, and not we ourselves; we are His people and the sheep of His pasture.
4 Enter His gates with thanksgiving, and His courts with praise. Give thanks to Him, and bless His name.
5 For YEHOWAH is good; His mercy is everlasting, and His truth to all generations.

Psalm 101

A Psalm of David:
I will sing of mercy and judgment. To You, O YEHOWAH, I will sing forth praises.
2 I will act wisely and in a blameless way. When will You come to me? I will walk in my house with integrity in my heart.
3 I will set no wicked thing before my eyes; I hate the work of those who turn aside; it will not cleave to me.
4 A crooked heart will depart from me; I will not know evil.
5 Whoever in private slanders their neighbor, those will I destroy. No one who has a lofty look or a proud heart will I endure.
6 My eyes shall be upon the faithful of the land that they may dwell with me. Those who walk without blemish are they who will minister to me.
7 Those that act deceitfully shall not dwell within my house; those who speak flies will not maintain their position before me.
8 Every morning I will destroy all the wicked of the land, so as to cut off from the city of YEHOWAH all those who do iniquity.

Psalm 102

A prayer of the afflicted, when they are faint and pour out their complaint before YEHOWAH:
Hear my prayer, O YEHOWAH! And let my cry come unto You.
2 Hide not Your face from me in the day of my trouble; incline Your ear to me; in the day when I call answer me with haste.
3 For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as in a hearth.
4 My heart is smitten and withered like grass, so that I forget to eat my bread.
5 By reason of the sounds of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
6 I am like a pelican of the wilderness; I am like an owl in a desolate place.
7 I watch, and am like a sparrow alone upon the housetop.
8 My enemies reproach me all day long; those who deride me use my name as a curse.
9 For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping,
10 because of Your indignation and Your wrath. For You have lifted me up and cast me down.
11 My days are like a shadow that declines, and I am withered like grass.
12 But You, O YEHOWAH, shall endure forever, and remembrance of Your name to all generations.
13 You will rise up and show compassion toward Zion; for it is time to favor her; yes, the established time has come,
14 For Your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favor her dust.
15 So the nations will fear the name of YEHOWAH and all the kings of the earth Your glory.
16 For YEHOWAH will build up Zion; and He will appear in His glory.
17 He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
18 And this is written for generations to come, that a people yet to be created may praise YEHOWAH.
19 For He looked down from the height of His sanctuary; from heaven YEHOWAH beheld the earth,
20 to hear the groaning of the prisoner, to set free those who were appointed to death,
21 to declare the name of YEHOWAH in Zion, and His praise in Jerusalem,
22 when the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve YEHOWAH.
23 He has weakened my strength along the way; He has shortened my days.
24 I say, “O my El, do not take me away in the midst of my days, Your years are throughout all generations.
25 Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
26 They will perish, but You endure; and all of them will wear out like a garment; but like a garment You will change them, and they will be changed.
27 But You are the same, and Your years have no end.
28 The children of Your servants will continue, and their seed will be established before You.”

Psalm 103

A Psalm of David:
Bless YEHOWAH, O my soul, and all that is within me, bless His holy name.
2 Bless YEHOWAH, O my soul, and forget none of His benefits;
3 who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases;
4 who redeems your life from the pit; who crowns you with mercy and compassion;
5 who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle.
6 YEHOWAH executes righteousness and judgment for all who are oppressed.
7 He made known His ways to Moses, His acts to the children of Israel.
8 YEHOWAH is compassionate and gracious; slow to anger and abounding in mercy.
9 He will not always chide. Neither will He keep His anger forever.
10 He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor rewarded us according to our iniquities.
11 For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who revere Him.
12 As far as the east is from the west, thus far has He removed our sins from us.
13 As a father has compassion on his children, so YEHOWAH has compassion on those who revere Him.
14 For He knows our frame; He remembers that we are but dust.
15 As for man, his days are like grass; as a flower of the field, so he flourishes;
16 for the wind passes over it, and it is no more, and the place of it knows it no more.
17 But the mercy of YEHOWAH is from everlasting to everlasting on those who revere Him, and His righteousness to children’s children,
18 to those who keep His covenant and remember His commandments to do them.
19 YEHOWAH has established His throne in the heavens, and His dominion rules over all.
20 Bless YEHOWAH, you His angels, mighty in strength, who do His commandments, heeding the voice of His word!
21 Bless YEHOWAH, all you His hosts, you who serve Him, that do His will.
22 Bless YEHOWAH, all His works, in all places of His dominion; Bless YEHOWAH, O my soul!

Psalm 104

Bless YEHOWAH, O my soul! O YEHOWAH my Elohim, You are very great; You are clothed with glory and majesty;
2 covering Yourself with light as with a garment; stretching out the heavens like a curtain.
3 You laid the beams of Your chambers in the waters; You make the clouds Your chariot; You walk upon the wings of the wind;
4 You make the winds Your messengers; Your ministers a flaming fire.
5 You laid the earth upon its foundations, so that it would not be removed forever.
6 You covered it with the deep as with a garment; the waters stood above the mountains.
7 At Your rebuke they fled, at the sound of Your thunder they hastened away.
8 The mountains rose up; the valleys dropped down to the place that You established for them.
9 You set a boundary that they may not pass over; that they may not turn again to cover the earth.
10 You send forth fountains in the valley, which flow between the mountains;
11 which give drink to every beast of the field; the wild asses quench their thirst.
12 By them the birds of the heavens dwell; they sing among the branches.
13 He waters the mountains from His upper chambers; the earth is satisfied with the fruit of His works.
14 He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, and herbs for the labor of man, so that he may bring forth food from the earth,
15 and wine that makes the heart of man glad, and oil, to make his face glisten, and food which sustains man’s heart.
16 The trees of YEHOWAH drink their fill, the cedars of Lebanon which He planted,
17 where the birds make their nests, and the stork, whose home is the fir trees.
18 The high mountains are a refuge for the wild goats; the rocks for the conies.
19 He appointed the moon for the seasons; the sun knows its setting.
20 You make darkness, and it is night, in which all the beasts of the forest creep.
21 The young lions roar after their prey, and seek their meat from Elohim.
22 When the sun rises, they gather themselves together, and lay down in their dens.
23 Man goes forth to his work and to his labor until the evening.
24 O YEHOWAH, how many are Your works! In wisdom You have made them all; the earth is full of Your riches.
25 So there is this great and wide sea, in which are swarms without number, beasts both small and great.
26 There go the ships; there too is that Livyathan, whom You have made to play in it.
27 These all wait for You, to give them their meat in due season.
28 You give to them, they gather it up; You opened Your hand, they are filled with good.
29 You hide Your face, they are troubled; You take away their breadth, they die, and return to their dust.
30 You send forth Your Spirit, they are created; and You renew the face of the ground.
31 The glory of YEHOWAH shall endure forever; YEHOWAH will rejoice in His works.
32 He looks at the earth, and it trembles; He touches the mountains, and they smoke.
33 I will sing to YEHOWAH as long as I live; I will sing praise to my Elohim while I have my being.
34 My meditation of him shall be sweet. I will be glad in YEHOWAH.
35 Let sinners be consumed out of the earth and let the wicked be no more. Bless YEHOWAH, O my soul. Praise you YEHOWAH!

Psalm 105

Oh give thanks unto YEHOWAH, call upon His name; make known His deeds among the people.
2 Sing to Him, sing psalms unto Him; speak of all His wondrous works.
3 Glory you, in His holy name; let the heart of those rejoice that seek YEHOWAH.
4 Seek YEHOWAH and His strength; seek His face evermore.
5 Remember His wonders which He has done, His wonders and the judgments of His mouth,
6 O seed of Abraham, His servant, O children of Jacob, His chosen ones!
7 He is YEHOWAH our Elohim; His judgments are in all the earth.
8 He has remembered His covenant forever, the word which He commanded to a thousand generations,
9 which He made with Abraham, and His oath unto Isaac.
10 And He confirmed it to Jacob for a law, to Israel as an everlasting covenant,
11 saying, “Unto you will I give the land of Canaan, the lot of your inheritance,”
12 When they were but a few men in number, very few, and strangers in it.
13 When they went from one nation to another, from one kingdom to another people;
14 He allowed no man to do them wrong. Yes He reproved kings for their sakes, saying,
15 “Touch not My anointed, and do My prophets no harm.”
16 Moreover, He called for a famine upon the land; He broke the whole staff of bread.
17 He sent a man before them, even Yehoseph, who was sold as a slave.
18 Whose feet they hurt with fetters; he was laid in irons,
19 until the time that his word came; the Word of YEHOWAH tried him.
20 The king sent and loosed him, the ruler of people, and let him go free.
21 He made him lord of his house, and ruler of all his substance,
22 To bind his princes at his pleasure, and teach his senators wisdom
23 Israel also came into Egypt; thus Jacob sojourned in the land of Ham.
24 And He increased His people greatly; and made them stronger than their enemies
25 He turned their heart to hate His people, to deal deceitfully with His servants.
26 He sent Moses His servant, and Aaron, whom He had chosen.
27 They showed His signs among them, and wonders in the land of Cham.
28 He sent darkness and made it dark; and they did not rebel against His words.
29 He turned their waters into blood and killed their fish.
30 Their land brought forth frogs in abundance, even into the chambers of their kings.
31 He spoke, and there came diverse sorts of flies, and lice in all their coasts.
32 He gave them hail for rain, and flaming fire in their land.
33 He struck their vines also and their fig trees, and shattered the trees of their coasts.
34 He spoke, and locusts came, and caterpillars; and that without number,
35 and did eat up all the green grass in their land, and devoured the fruit of their ground.
36 He struck also the firstborn in their land, the chief of all their strength.
37 He brought them forth also with silver and gold, and there was not one feeble person among the tribes.
38 Egypt was glad when they departed, for the fear of them had fallen upon them.
39 He spread a cloud for a covering, and fire to give light in the night.
40 They asked, and He brought quails, and satisfied them with the bread of heaven.
41 He opened the rock and the water gushed out; they ran in the dry places like a river.
42 For He remembered His holy word with Abraham His servant;
43 and He brought forth His people with joy, His chosen ones with a joyful shout.
44 He gave them also the lands of the nations, that they might take possession of the fruit of the peoples’ labor;
45 that they might observe His statutes and keep His laws. Praise YEHOWAH!

Psalm 106

Praise YEHOWAH! Oh give thanks unto YEHOWAH, for He is good, for His mercy endures forever.
2 Who can speak of the mighty deeds of YEHOWAH, or who can show forth all His praise?
3 Blessed are they who keep judgment, who do righteousness at all times!
4 Remember me, O YEHOWAH, with Your favor that You bear toward Your people; visit me with Your salvation,
5 that I may see the good of Your chosen; that I may rejoice in the gladness of Your nation; that I may glory with Your inheritance.
6 We have sinned like our fathers, we have committed iniquity, we have done wickedly.
7 Our fathers in Egypt did not understand Your wonders; they did not remember the multitude of your mercies, but provoked Him at the sea, even at the Red Sea.
8 Nevertheless He saved them for His name’s sake, that He might make His mighty power to be known.
9 He rebuked the Red Sea also, and it was dried up, and He led them through the depths, as through the wilderness.
10 And He saved them from the hand of him that hated them, and redeemed them from the hand of the enemy.
11 And the waters covered their enemies; there was not one of them left.
12 Then they believed His words; they sang His praise.
13 They quickly forgot His works; they waited not for His counsel,
14 but lusted exceedingly in the wilderness, and tempted Elohim in the desert.
15 And He gave them their request, but sent leanness into their soul.
16 And they envied Moses in the camp, and Aaron the saint of YEHOWAH.
17 The earth opened and swallowed up Dathan, and covered the company of Abiram.
18 And a fire was kindled in their company; the flame burned up the wicked.
19 They made a calf in Horeb and worshiped a molten image.
20 Thus they exchanged their glory for the image of an ox that eats grass.
21 They forgot El their Deliverer, who had done great things in Egypt,
22 wondrous works in the land of Ham and fearful things by the Red Sea.
23 Therefore He said that He would destroy them, had not Moses His chosen one stood before Him in the breach, to turn away His wrath, lest He should destroy.
24 Then they despised the pleasant land; they believed not His word,
25 but murmured in their tents; and listened not to the voice of YEHOWAH.
26 Therefore He lifted up His hand against them, to overthrow them in the wilderness.
27 To overthrow their seed also among the nations, and to scatter them in the lands.
28 They joined themselves also to Baal-Peor, and ate the sacrifices of the dead.
29 Thus they provoked Him to anger with their acts, deeds, and the plague broke out among them.
30 Then stood up Phinehas; who executed judgment; and so the plague was stayed.
31 And it was reckoned to him for righteousness, to all generations forevermore.
32 They angered Him also at the waters of Meribah, so that it went ill with Moses for their sake;
33 because they provoked his spirit, so that he spoke unadvisedly with his lips.
34 They did not destroy the nations, concerning whom YEHOWAH commanded them,
35 but were mingled with the nations and learned their works,
36 and they served their idols, which were a snare unto them.
37 Yes, they sacrificed their sons and their daughters to the devil,
38 and shed innocent blood; the blood of their sons and their daughters, whom they sacrificed to the idols of Kenaan; and the land was polluted with the blood.
39 Thus were they defiled with their own works, and went whoring with their own works.
40 Therefore was the wrath of YEHOWAH kindled against His people, insomuch that he abhorred His own inheritance.
41 And He gave them into the hand of the nations, and they that hated them ruled over them.
42 Their enemies also oppressed them, and they were subdued under their hand.
43 Many times did He deliver them; but they provoked Him with their counsel, and were brought low for their iniquity.
44 Nevertheless He regarded their affliction, when He heard their cry;
45 and He remembered His covenant for their sake, and repented according to the multitude of His mercies.
46 He also made them also to be pitied of all those that carried them captive.
47 Save us, O YEHOWAH our Elohim, and gather us from among the nations, to give thanks to Your holy name, and to triumph in Your praise.
48Blessed be YEHOWAH Elohim of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting. And let all the people say, “Amen.” Praise YAH!

Psalm 107

Oh give thanks to YEHOWAH, for He is good, for His mercy is everlasting.
2 Let the redeemed of YEHOWAH say, whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy,
3 and gathered from the lands, from the east and from the west, from the north and from the south.
4 “They wandered in the wilderness in a solitary way; they found no city to dwell in.
5 Hungry and thirsty; their soul fainted within them.
6 Then they cried unto YEHOWAH in their trouble; He delivered them out of their distresses.
7 And He led them forth by the right way that they might go to an inhabited city.
8 O that they would praise YEHOWAH for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
9 For He satisfies the longing soul, and fills the hungry soul with goodness.
10 Such as sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, bound in misery and iron;
11 because they rebelled against the words of El, and blasphemed the counsel of the Most High.
12 Therefore He humbled their heart with labor; they fell down with none to help.
13 Then they cried out to YEHOWAH in their trouble; He saved them out of their distresses.
14 He brought them out of darkness and the shadow of death and broke their bands asunder.
15 Let them praise YEHOWAH for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
16 For He has broken the gates of brass and cut the bars of iron asunder.
17 Fools, because of their transgression, and because of their iniquities, are afflicted.
18 Their soul abhors all manner of meat, and they draw near to the gates of death.
19 Then they cried out to YEHOWAH in their trouble; and He saved them out of their distresses.
20 He sent His word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions.
21 O let them praise YEHOWAH for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
22 And let them sacrifice the sacrifices of thanksgiving, and declare His works with rejoicing.
23 Those who go down to the sea in ships, who do business on great waters;
24 these see the works of YEHOWAH, and His wonders in the deep.
25 For He commands and raises the stormy wind, which lifts up the waves of the sea.
26 They mount up to the heaven, they go down again to the depths; their soul is melted because of misery.
27 They reel to and fro, and stagger like a drunken man, and are at their wits’ end.
28 Then they cry unto YEHOWAH in their trouble, and He brings them out of their distresses.
29 He causes the storm to be calm, so that the waves of the sea are still.
30 Then are they glad, because there is calm, so He brings them to their desired haven.
31 O that they would praise YEHOWAH for His mercy, and for His wonderful works to the children of men!
32 Let them exalt Him also in the congregation of the people, and praise Him in the assembly of the elders.
33 He turns rivers into a wilderness, and the springs of water into a dry ground;
34 a fruitful land into barrenness, because of the wickedness of those who dwell in it.
35 He turns a wilderness into a pool of water, and a dry land into springs of water;
36 and there He makes the hungry to dwell, so that they may prepare a city for habitation,
37 and sow the fields and plant vineyards, which may yield fruits of increase.
38 He blesses them also, and they multiply greatly, and He does not allow their cattle to decrease.
39 Again they are diminished and brought low through oppression, misery and sorrow,
40 He pours contempt upon princes, and makes them wander in the wilderness, where there is no way.
41 But He sets the poor on high away from affliction, and makes families like a flock.
42 The righteous see it and rejoice; and all iniquity shall shut its mouth.
43 Who is wise and will observe these things, even they will understand the mercy of YEHOWAH.”

Psalm 108

A Song or Psalm of David:
O Elohim, my heart is set; I will sing, and give praise, even with my glory.
2 Awake, lyre and harp; I will awake early!
3 I will praise You, O YEHOWAH, among the peoples, and I will sing praises unto You among the nations.
4 For Your mercy is great above the heavens, and Your truth reaches to the clouds.
5 Be exalted, O Elohim, above the heavens, and Your glory above all the earth;
6 that Your beloved may be delivered. Save with Your right hand, and answer me!
7 Elohim has spoken in His holiness: “I will exult, I will divide Shekem and measure out the valley of Sukkoth.
8 Gilead is Mine, Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim also is the strength of My head; Yehudah is My law giver.
9 Moab is My washbowl; over Edom will I cast out my shoe; over Philistia will I triumph.”
10 Who will bring me into the fortified city? Who will lead me into Edom?
11 Will not You, O Elohim, who has cast us off? And will You, O Elohim, go forth with our armies?
12 Give us help against the adversary, for vain is the help of man.
13 Through Elohim we will do valiantly, for it is He who shall tread down our adversaries.

Psalm 109

To the chief musician, a Psalm of David:
Hold not Your peace, O Elohim of my praise;
2 For the mouth of the wicked and the mouth of the deceitful are opened against me; they have spoken against me with a lying tongue.
3 They encompassed me round about with words of hatred; and fought against me without cause.
4 For my love they are my adversaries; but I give myself unto prayer.
5 And they have rewarded me evil for good, and hatred for my love.
6 Set a wicked person over them, and let Satan stand at their right hand.
7 When they are judged, let them be condemned; and let their prayer become sin.
8 Let their days be few; let others take their office.
9 Let their children be orphaned, and their mates desolate.
10 Let their children be vagabonds continually; and let them seek their sustenance far from their desolate places.
11 Let the creditors seize all that they have, and let strangers plunder the product of their labor.
12 Let there be none to extend mercy unto them, nor any to be gracious to their orphaned children.
13 Let their posterity be cut off; in the following generation let their name be blotted out.
14 Let the iniquity of their fathers be remembered before YEHOWAH; and let not the sin of their mother be blotted out.
15 Let them be before YEHOWAH continually, that He may cut off the memory of them from the earth;
16 because they did not remember to show mercy, but persecuted the poor and needy, and the despondent in heart, to put them to death.
17 As they loved cursing, so let it come unto them; as they delighted not in blessing, so let it be far from them.
18 As they clothed themselves with cursing, as with a garment, so let it come into their bowels like water; and like oil into their bones.
19 Let it be unto them as a garment which covers them, and as a girdle, with which they are girded continually.
20 And let this be the reward of my adversaries from YEHOWAH, and of those who speak evil against my soul.
21 But You, O my Master Elohim, for Your name’s sake; because Your mercy is good, deliver me;
22 For I am poor and needy, and my heart is wounded within me.
23 I am passing like a shadow when it declines; I am tossed up and down like the locust.
24 My knees are weak from fasting, and my flesh has grown lean, without fatness.
25 I also have become a reproach to them; when they looked upon me, they shake their heads.
26 Help me, O YEHOWAH my Elohim; O save me according to Your mercy.
27 That they may know that this is Your hand; You, YEHOWAH, have done it.
28 Let them curse, but You bless; when they rise up, let them be ashamed, but let Your servant rejoice.
29 Let my accusers be clothed with shame, and let them cover themselves with their own shame, as with a coat.
30 I will greatly praise YEHOWAH with my mouth; yes, I will praise Him among the multitude,
31 For He shall stand at the right hand of the poor, to save them from those that condemn their soul.

Psalm 110

A Psalm of David:
YEHOWAH said unto my MASTER, “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet.”
2 YEHOWAH will put forth the rod of Your strength from Zion, saying, “Rule in the midst of Your enemies.”
3 Your people will be willing in the day of Your power; in the beauty of holiness, from the womb of the morning, shall come to You as the dew of Your youth.
4 YEHOWAH has sworn and will not repent, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.”
5 YEHOWAH at Your right hand will shatter kings in the day of His wrath.
6 He will judge among the nations, He will fill them with dead bodies, He will pierce the rulers of many countries.
7 He will drink from the brook in the way; therefore He will lift up the head.

Psalm 111

Praise YAH! I will worship YEHOWAH with all my heart, in the assembly of the upright, and in the congregation.
2 The works of YEHOWAH are great; sought after by all who delight in them.
3 His work is glorious and magnificent, and His righteousness endures forever.
4 He has done His wonderful works to be remembered; YEHOWAH is gracious and full of compassion.
5 He has given food to those who fear Him; He will ever be mindful of His covenant.
6 He has shown His people the power of His works, that He may give them the heritage of the nations.
7 The works of His hands are truth and judgment; all His commandments are sure;
8 they stand fast forever and ever; they are done in truth and uprightness.
9 He has sent redemption to His people; He has commanded His covenant forever; Holy and revered is His name.
10 The fear of YEHOWAH is the beginning of wisdom. A good understanding have all those who do His commandments. His praise endures forever.

Psalm 112

Praise YAH! Blessed are they who fear YEHOWAH, who delight greatly in His commandments.
2 His seed will be mighty upon earth; the generation of the upright will be blessed.
3 Wealth and riches shall be in their house, and their righteousness will endure forever.
4 Unto the upright there arises light in the darkness, for He is gracious and compassionate and righteous.
5 It is well with those who are gracious and lend; He will guide their affairs with judgment.
6 Surely, they will not be moved forever. The righteous will be remembered forever.
7 They will not fear evil reports, for their heart is fixed, trusting in YEHOWAH.
8 Their heart is established; they will not fear, even until they look with satisfaction upon their enemies.
9 They have given freely to the poor, their righteousness shall endure forever; their horn will be exalted in honor.
10 The wicked will see it and be grieved, they will gnash their teeth and melt away; the desires of the wicked will perish.

Psalm 113

Praise YAH! Praise, O you servants of YEHOWAH, praise the name of YEHOWAH!
2 Blessed be the name of YEHOWAH from this time forth and forevermore.
3 From the rising of the sun to its setting, YEHOWAH’S name is to be praised.
4 YEHOWAH is high above all nations; His glory is above the heavens.
5 Who is like YEHOWAH our Elohim, who dwells on high;
6 who humbles Himself to behold the things that are in heaven and on the earth?
7 He raises the poor out of the dust, and lifts the needy from the dunghill;
8 that He may set them with princes, with the princes of His people.
9 He makes the barren woman dwell in the house, as a joyful mother of children. Praise YAH!

Psalm 114

When Israel went forth out of Egypt, the house of Jacob from a people of strange language,
2 Yehudah was His sanctuary; Israel His dominion.
3 The sea looked and fled; the Jordan was driven back.
4 The mountains skipped like rams, the hills like lambs.
5 What ails you, O sea that you flee? O Jordan that you turn back?
6 O mountains that you skip like rams? O hills, like lambs?
7 Tremble, O earth, at the presence of the Master, at the presence of the Eloah of Jacob,
8 who turned the rock into a pool of water, the flint into a fountain of water.

Psalm 115

Not to us, O YEHOWAH, not to us, but to Your name give glory, for Your mercy, and for Your truth’s sake.
2 Why should the nations say, “Where now is their Elohim?”
3 But our Elohim is in the heavens; He does whatever He pleases.
4 Their idols are silver and gold, the work of human hands;
5 they have mouths, but they speak not; they have eyes, but they see not;
6 they have ears, but they hear not; they have noses, but they smell not;
7 they have hands, but they feel not; they have feet, but they walk not; nor can they make a sound with their throat.
8 Those who make them are like them, and so is everyone who trusts in them.
9 O Israel, trust in YEHOWAH; He is our help and our shield.
10 O house of Aaron, trust in YEHOWAH; He is their help and their shield.
11 You who fear YEHOWAH, trust in YEHOWAH; He is our help and our shield.
12 YEHOWAH has been mindful of us; He will bless us; He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron.
13 He will bless all who fear YEHOWAH, the small and the great.
14 YEHOWAH will increase you more and more; you and your children.
15 You are blessed of YEHOWAH, who made heaven and earth.
16 Unto the heaven of heavens are YEHOWAH’S, but the earth He has given to the children of men.
17 The dead do not praise YEHOWAH, nor any who go down into silence;
18 but we will bless YAH from this time forth and forever. Praise YAH!

Psalm 116

I love YEHOWAH, because He hears my voice and my supplications.
2 Because He inclines His ear to me, therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live.
3 The snares of death encompassed me and the pain of Hell came upon me; I found trouble and sorrow.
4 Then I called upon the name of YEHOWAH: “O YEHOWAH, I beseech You, deliver my soul!”
5 Gracious is YEHOWAH, and righteous; yes, our Elohim is merciful.
6 YEHOWAH preserves the simple; I was brought low, and He delivered me.
7 Return to your rest, O my soul, for YEHOWAH has dealt bountifully with you.
8 For You have delivered my soul from death, my eyes from tears, my feet from falling.
9 I will walk before YEHOWAH in the land of the living.
10 I believed, therefore I said, “I am greatly afflicted.”
11 I said in my alarm, “All men are liars.”
12 What shall I render to YEHOWAH for all His benefits toward me?
13 I will lift up the cup of deliverance and call upon the name of YEHOWAH.
14 I will pay my vows unto YEHOWAH, now in the presence of all His people.
15 Precious in the sight of YEHOWAH is the death of His saints.
16 O YEHOWAH, truly I am Your servant. I am Your servant, the son of Your handmaid, You have loosed my bonds.
17 I will offer to You the sacrifice of thanksgiving, and call upon the name of YEHOWAH.
18 I will pay my vows unto YEHOWAH, now in the presence of all His people,
19 in the courts of YEHOWAH’S house, in the midst of you, O Jerusalem. Praise YAH!

Psalm 117

Praise YEHOWAH, all nations; glorify Him, all you people!
2 For His mercy is great toward us, and the truth of YEHOWAH endures forever. Praise YAH!

Psalm 118

Give thanks to YEHOWAH, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever.
2 Let Israel say, “His mercy endures forever.”
3 Let the house of Aaron now say, “His mercy endures forever.”
4 Let them now who fear YEHOWAH say, “His mercy endures forever.”
5 I called upon YAH in my distress; YEHOWAH answered me and set me in a large place.
6 YEHOWAH is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me?
7 YEHOWAH is for me among those who help me; therefore I will see my desire upon those who hate me.
8 It is better to have hope in YEHOWAH than to trust in mankind.
9 It is better to have hope in YEHOWAH than to trust in princes.
10 All nations may encompass me round about; but in the name of YEHOWAH I will destroy them.
11 They encompass me round about; but in the name of YEHOWAH I will destroy them.
12 They encompass me round about like bees; they are extinguished as a fire of thorns; for in the name of YEHOWAH I will destroy them.
13 You pushed down hard upon me, so that I might fall, but YEHOWAH helped me.
14 YAH is my strength and song, and He is my deliverance.
15 The sound of rejoicing and deliverance is in the tabernacle of the righteous; the right hand of YEHOWAH does valiantly.
16 The right hand of YEHOWAH is exalted; the right hand of YEHOWAH does valiantly.
17 I will not die, but live, and declare the works of YAH.
18 YAH has disciplined me severely, but He has not given me over unto death.
19 Open to me the gates of righteousness; I will enter into them, and I will worship YAH.
20 This is the gate of YEHOWAH; into which the righteous shall enter.
21 I will worship You, for You have heard me, and You have become my deliverance.
22 The stone that the builders rejected has become the chief stone of the corner.
23 This is YEHOWAH’S doing; it is marvelous in our eyes.
24 This is the day which YEHOWAH has made; we will rejoice and be glad in it.
25 Save now, I beseech You, O YEHOWAH. O YEHOWAH, I beseech You, send now prosperity!
26 Blessed is the one who comes in the name of YEHOWAH; we have blessed you from the house of YEHOWAH.
27 El is YEHOWAH, who has shown us the light; bind the sacrifice with cords, unto the horns of the altar.
28 You are my El, and I will worship You. You are my Elohim, I exalt You.
29 Worship YEHOWAH, for He is good; for His mercy endures forever.

Psalm 119

ALEPH:
Blessed are those who are undefiled in the way, who walk in the law of YEHOWAH.
2 Blessed are those who keep His testimonies, who seek Him with all their heart.
3 They also do no evil; they walk in His ways.
4 You have commanded that we keep Your precepts diligently.
5 Oh that my ways were firm in keeping Your statutes,
6 for then I will not be ashamed when I look upon all Your commandments.
7 I will worship You with uprightness of heart, when I learn Your righteous judgments.
8 I will keep Your statutes. O forsake me not utterly!
9 BETH:
How can the young purify their way? By walking according to Your word.

11 Your word I have laid up in my heart, that I might not sin against You.
12 Blessed are You, O YEHOWAH; teach me Your statutes.
13 With my lips I have declared all the judgments of Your mouth.

16 I delight in Your statutes; I will not forget Your word.
17 GIMEL:
Deal bountifully with Your servant, that I may live and keep Your word.

21 You rebuke the proud that are cursed, who go astray from Your commandments.

24 Your testimonies also are my delight, and my counselors.
25 DALETH:
My soul cleaves to the dust; revive me according to Your word.

31 I cling to Your testimonies; O YEHOWAH, do not put me to shame!
32 I will run the way of Your commandments, for You will enlarge my heart.
33 HE:
Teach me, O YEHOWAH, the way of Your statutes, and I will keep it to the end.
34 Give me understanding, and I will keep Your law; I will keep it with all my heart.
35 Make me walk in the path of Your commandments, for I delight in it.
36 Incline my heart to Your testimonies, and not to covetousness.
37 Turn away my eyes from regarding vanity, and revive me in Your ways.
38 Establish Your word to Your servant who reveres You.
39 Turn away my reproach which I fear, for Your judgments are good.
40 Behold, I long for Your precepts; revive me in Your righteousness.
41 VAU:
May Your mercy also come unto me, O YEHOWAH, Your deliverance according to Your word;
42 that I will have an answer for those who reproach me. For I trust in Your word.
43 Take not the word of truth utterly out of my mouth, for my hope is in Your judgments.
44 So I will keep Your law continually, forever and ever,
45 and I will walk at liberty, for I seek Your precepts.
46 I will also speak of Your testimonies before kings and will not be ashamed.
47 I will delight in Your commandments, which I have loved,
48 and I will lift up my hands to Your commandments, which I love; and I will meditate on Your statutes.
49 ZAVIN:
Remember the word to Your servant, upon which You have caused me to hope.
50 This is my comfort in my affliction, for Your word has revived me.
51 The proud greatly mock me, yet I do not turn away from Your law.
52 I remember Your judgments from of old, O YEHOWAH, and comfort myself.
53 Horror has taken hold of me, because of the wicked that forsake Your law.
54 Your statutes are my songs in the house of my pilgrimage.
55 I remember Your name in the night, O YEHOWAH, and I keep Your law,
56 and this I have, because I keep Your precepts.
57 CHETH:
You are my portion O YEHOWAH; I have said that I will keep Your words.
58 I sought Your favor with all my heart; be gracious unto me according to Your word.
59 I thought about my ways, and turned my feet to Your testimonies.
60 I hastened and did not delay to keep Your commandments.
61 The snares of the wicked have encircled me, but I have not forgotten Your law.
62 At midnight I will rise to worship You, because of Your righteous judgments.
63 I am a companion of all that fear You, and of those who keep Your precepts.
64 The earth, O YEHOWAH, is full of Your mercy; teach me Your statutes.
65 TETH:
You have dealt well with Your servant, O YEHOWAH, according to Your word.
66 Teach me good discretion and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.
67 Before I was afflicted and went astray, but now I keep Your word.

71 It is good for me that I was afflicted, that I might learn Your statutes.
72 The law of Your mouth is better to me than thousands of gold and silver pieces.
73 YOD:
Your hands made me and fashioned me; give me understanding, that I may learn Your commandments.
74 Those that fear You will be glad when they see me, because I waited upon Your word.
75 I know, O YEHOWAH, that Your judgments are right, and that in faithfulness You have afflicted me.
76 Please let Your mercy comfort me, according to Your word to Your servant.
77 Let Your compassion come to me, that I may live, for Your law is my delight.

79 Let those that fear You turn to me, and those who know Your testimonies.
80 Let my heart be undefiled in Your statutes, so that I will not be ashamed.
81 CAPH:
My soul longs for Your deliverance; I hope in Your word.
82 My eyes fail with longing for Your word, saying, “When will You comfort me?”
83 For I have become like a wineskin in the smoke, yet I do not forget Your statutes.
84 How many are the days of Your servant, until You execute judgment on those who persecute me?
85 The proud have dug pits for me, who are not in accord with Your law.
86 All Your commandments are faithful; they persecute me wrongfully; help me!
87 They almost consumed me on earth, but I did not forsake Your precepts.
88 Revive me according to Your mercy, so that I may keep the testimony of Your mouth.
89 LAMED:
Forever, O YEHOWAH, Your word is settled in heaven.
90 Your faithfulness unto all generations. You established the earth, and it abides.
91 It stands this day according to Your judgments, for all things are Your servants.
92 Unless Your law had not been my delight, I would have perished in my affliction.
93 I will never forget Your precepts, for by them You have revived me.
94 I am Yours, deliver me; for I have sought Your precepts.
95 The wicked wait for me, to destroy me; but I will attend to Your testimonies.
96 I have seen an end of all perfection; but Your commandment is exceedingly broad.
97 MEM:

104 Through Your precepts I get understanding; therefore I hate every false way.
105 NUN:
Your word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
106 I have sworn and I will confirm it, that I will keep Your righteous judgments.
107 I am greatly afflicted; revive me, O YEHOWAH, according to Your word.
108 Accept, I beseech You, the freewill offerings of my mouth, O YEHOWAH, and teach me Your judgments.
109 My soul is continually in my hand, yet I do not forget Your law.
110 The wicked have laid a snare for me, yet I have not gone astray from Your precepts.
111 I have taken Your testimonies as an inheritance forever, for they are the joy of my heart.
112 I have inclined my heart to perform Your statutes forever, even to the end.
113 SAMECH:

117 Uphold me that I may be safe, that I may have regard for Your statutes continually.
118 You have condemned all who wander from Your statutes, for their deceit is falsehood.
119 You shall take away all the wicked of the earth like dross. Therefore, I love Your testimonies.
120 My flesh trembles for fear of You, and I am afraid of Your judgments.
121 AIN:
I have done judgment and righteousness; leave me not to my oppressors.
122 Be surety for Your servant for good; let not the proud oppress me.
123 My eyes fail for Your deliverance, and for the word of Your righteous.
124 Deal with Your servant according to Your mercy, and teach me Your statutes.
125 I am Your servant; give me understanding, that I may know Your testimonies.
126 It is time for YEHOWAH to do, for they have made void Your law.
127 Therefore I love Your commandments above gold, yes, above fine gold.
128 Therefore I esteem upright all Your precepts concerning everything, I hate every false way.
129 PE:
Your testimonies are wonderful; therefore my soul keeps them.
130 The disclosure of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.
131 I opened my mouth and panted, for I longed for Your commandments.
132 Look upon me and be gracious to me, as You used to do unto those that love Your name.
133 Order my footsteps in Your word, and let not any iniquity have dominion over me.
134 Redeem me from the oppression of mankind, that I may keep Your precepts.

139 My zeal has consumed me, because my enemies have forgotten Your words.
140 Your word is very pure; therefore Your servant loves it.
141 I am small and despised, yet I do not forget Your precepts.
142 Your righteousness is an everlasting righteousness, and Your law is truth.
143 Trouble and anguish have taken hold of me, yet Your commandments are my delight.
144 The righteousness of Your testimonies are everlasting; give me understanding, and I will live.
145 KOPH:
I cried with all my heart; hear me, O YEHOWAH! I will observe Your statutes.
146 I cried to You, “Save me, and I shall keep Your testimonies.”
147 I hastened to meet the dawning of the morning, and cried. I hope in Your words.
148 My eyes hasten to the night watch, that I might meditate on Your word.
149 Hear my voice according to Your mercy; O YEHOWAH, revive me according to Your judgments.
150 They draw near who follow after wickedness; they are far from Your law.
151 You are near, O YEHOWAH, and all Your commandments are truth.
152 I have known from old that You founded Your testimonies forever.
153 RESH:
Consider my affliction and rescue me, for I do not forget Your law.

160 Your word is truth and excellence, and every one of Your righteous judgments will endure forever.
161 SCHIN:
Princes persecute me without cause, but my heart stands in awe of Your word.
162 I rejoice in Your word, as one who finds great spoil.
163 I hate and abhor lying, but I love Your law.
164 Seven times a day I praise You, because of Your righteous judgments.
165 Those who love Your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to fall.
166 O YEHOWAH, I hope for Your deliverance, and do Your commandments.
167 My soul keeps Your testimonies, and I love them exceedingly.
168 I keep Your precepts and Your testimonies, for all my ways are before You.
169 TAU:
Let my cry come near before You, O YEHOWAH; give me understanding according to Your word.
170 Let my supplication come before You; deliver me according to Your word.
171 Let my lips utter praise, for You have taught me Your statutes.
172 Let my tongue speak of Your word, for all Your commandments are righteousness.
173 Let Your hand help me, for I have chosen Your precepts.
174 I long for Your deliverance, O YEHOWAH, and Your law is my delight.
175 Let my soul live, and it will worship You, and let Your judgments help me.
176 I have gone astray like a lost sheep; seek Your servant, for I do not forget Your commandments.

Psalm 120

A song of ascension:
In my anguish I cried unto YEHOWAH, and He heard me.
2 Deliver my soul, O YEHOWAH, from lying lips, and from a deceitful tongue.
3 What shall be given to you, and what more shall be done to you, you deceitful tongue?
4 Sharp arrows of the mighty; with burning coals of Juniper.
5 Woe is me, for I sojourn in Meshek; I dwell in the tents of Kedar!
6 My soul has long dwelt with him that hates peace.
7 I am for peace, but when I speak, they are for war.

Psalm 121

A song of ascension:
I will lift up my eyes unto the mountains; from where comes my help.
2 My help comes from YEHOWAH, who made heaven and earth.
3 He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber.
4 Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep.
5 YEHOWAH is your keeper; YEHOWAH is your shade upon your right hand.
6 The sun will not strike you by day; nor the moon by night.
7 YEHOWAH will protect you from all evil; He will preserve your soul.
8 YEHOWAH will protect your going out and your coming in, from this time forth and forever.

Psalm 122

A song of ascension, of David:
I was glad when they said to me, “Let us go to the house of YEHOWAH.”
2 Our feet will stand within your gates, O Jerusalem,
3 Jerusalem is built as a city that is compact together;
4 where the tribes go up, the tribes of YAH, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks to the name of YEHOWAH.
5 For there are set the thrones of judgment, the thrones of the house of David.
6 Pray for the peace of Jerusalem, for they shall prosper who love you.
7 May peace be within your walls, and prosperity within your palaces.
8 For the sake of my brethren and my companions, I will now say, “Peace be within you.”
9 For the sake of the house of YEHOWAH our Elohim, I will seek your good.

Psalm 123

A song of ascension:
Unto You I lift up my eyes, O You that dwells in the heavens!
2 Behold, as the eyes of servants look to the hand of their lords, and as the eyes of a maiden unto the hand of her mistress, so our eyes look to YEHOWAH our Elohim, until He shall have mercy upon us.
3 Have mercy upon us, O YEHOWAH, have mercy upon us, for we are greatly filled with shame.
4 Our soul is greatly filled with the scorn of those who are at ease, and with the contempt of the proud.

Psalm 124

A song of ascension, of David:
“If it had not been YEHOWAH who was on our side,” now let Israel say,
2 “If it had not been YEHOWAH who was on our side when men rose up against us,
3 then they would have swallowed us quickly, when their wrath was kindled against us;
4 Then the waters would have overwhelmed us, the stream would have gone over our soul;
5 Then the roiling waters would have gone over our soul.”
6 Blessed be YEHOWAH, who has not given us as prey unto their teeth.
7 Our soul has escaped as a bird out of the snare of the trapper; the snare is broken and we have escaped.
8 Our help is in the name of YEHOWAH, who made heaven and earth.

Psalm 125

A song of ascension:
Those who trust in YEHOWAH are as Mount Zion, which cannot be removed, but abides forever.
2 As the mountains encircle Jerusalem, so YEHOWAH encircles His people from this time forth and forever.
3 For the rod of the wicked shall not rest upon the righteous, unless the righteous put forth their hands unto iniquity.
4 Do good, O YEHOWAH, unto those who are good, and unto those who are upright in their hearts.
5 As for those who turn aside to their crooked ways, YEHOWAH will lead them forth with the workers of iniquity. Peace be upon Israel.

Psalm 126

A song of ascension:
When YEHOWAH turned back the captivity of Zion, we were like those who dream.
2 Then was our mouth filled with laughter, and our tongue with singing. Then said they among the nations, “ YEHOWAH has done great things for them.”
3 YEHOWAH has done great things for us; therefore we are glad.
4 Turn back again our captivity, O YEHOWAH, as the streams in the south.
5 They that sow in tears shall reap in joy.
6 They that go forth weeping, bearing precious seed, shall indeed come again with rejoicing, bring in their sheaves.

Psalm 127

A song of ascension, of Solomon:
Unless YEHOWAH builds the house, they labor in vain that build it. Unless YEHOWAH guards the city, the watchman remains awake in vain.
2 It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of grief; for He gives to His beloved even in their sleep.
3 Behold, children are an inheritance of YEHOWAH, the fruit of the womb is a reward.
4 As arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one’s youth.
5 Happy is the man whose quiver is full of them. They will not be ashamed, but will speak with their enemies in the gate.

Psalm 128

A song of ascension:
Blessed is everyone that fears YEHOWAH; that walks in His ways.
2 For you shall eat of the produce of your hands; you will be happy and it will be well with you.
3 Your wife shall be like a fruitful vine by the side of your house; your children like olive plants round about your table.
4 Behold, for thus shall the man be blessed who fears YEHOWAH.
5 YEHOWAH bless you from Zion, and may you see the good of Jerusalem all the days of your life.
6 Indeed, you shall see your children’s children, and peace upon Israel!

Psalm 129

A song of ascension:
“Many times they have afflicted me from my youth,” let Israel now say,
2 “Many times they have afflicted me from my youth; yet they have not prevailed against me.
3 “The plowers plowed upon my back; they made long their furrows.”
4 YEHOWAH is righteous; He has cut in two the cords of the wicked.
5 Let them all be confounded and turned back that hate Zion.
6 Let them be like the grass upon the housetops, that withers before it grows up;
7 with which the reaper does not fill their hand, nor the binder of sheaves their bosom;
8 nor do those who pass by say, “The blessing of YEHOWAH be upon you; we bless you in the name of YEHOWAH.”

Psalm 130

A song of ascension:
Out of the depths I have cried to You, O YEHOWAH.
2 Master, hear my voice! Let Your ears be attentive to the voice of my supplications.
3 If You, YAH, should mark iniquities, O Master, who could stand?
4 But there is forgiveness with You, that You may be revered.
5 I wait for YEHOWAH, my soul does wait, and in His word do I hope.
6 My soul waits for the Master more than they that watch for the morning. I say, more than they that watch for the morning.
7 Let Israel hope in YEHOWAH; for with YEHOWAH there is mercy, and with Him is abundant redemption.
8 And He will redeem Israel from all his iniquities.

Psalm 131

A song of ascension, of David:
O YEHOWAH, my heart is not haughty, nor my eyes lofty; nor do I involve myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.
2 Surely I have behaved and quieted my soul; as a child that is weaned of its mother, my soul is even as a weaned child.
3 Let Israel, hope in YEHOWAH from this time forth and forever.

Psalm 132

A song of ascension:
O YEHOWAH, remember David and all his affliction;
2 How he swore unto YEHOWAH, and vowed unto the Mighty of Jacob,
3 “Surely I will not come into the tabernacle of my house, nor go up into my bed;
4 I will not give sleep to my eyes or slumber to my eyelids,
5 until I find a place for YEHOWAH, a dwelling
place for the Mighty of Jacob.”
6 Lo, we heard of it in Ephratah, we found it in the field of the wood.
7 We will go into His tabernacle; we will worship at His footstool.
8 Arise, O YEHOWAH, into Your rest; You, and the Ark of Your strength.
9 Let Your priests be clothed with righteousness, and let Your saints shout for joy.
10 For the sake of David Your servant, turn not away the face of Your anointed.
11 YEHOWAH has sworn in truth unto David; He will not turn back: “Of the fruit of your body I will set upon your throne.
12 If your sons will keep My covenant and My
testimony, which I will teach them, their sons also shall sit upon your throne forever.
13 For YEHOWAH has chosen Zion; He has desired it for His habitation.
14 This is My resting place forever; here I will dwell, for I have desired it.
15 I will abundantly bless her provision; I will satisfy her poor with bread.
16 I will clothe her priests with salvation, and her saints shall shout aloud for joy.
17 There I will make the horn of David to bud; I have ordained a lamp for Mine anointed.
18 His enemies I will clothe with shame, but upon himself shall his crown flourish.”

Psalm 133

A song of ascension, of David:
Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity!
2 It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard; that went down to the skirts of his garments.
3 As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descends upon the mountains of Zion; for there YEHOWAH commanded the blessing: Life forevermore!

Psalm 134

A song of ascension:
Behold; bless YEHOWAH, all you servants of YEHOWAH, who by night stand in the house of YEHOWAH.
2 Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and bless YEHOWAH.
3 YEHOWAH that made heaven and earth bless you from Zion.

Psalm 135

Praise YEHOWAH! Praise the name of YEHOWAH; praise Him, O servants of YEHOWAH,
2 You who stand in the house of YEHOWAH, in the courts of the house of our Elohim!
3 Praise YEHOWAH, for YEHOWAH is good; sing praises unto His name, for it is pleasant.
4 For YEHOWAH has chosen Jacob for Himself, and Israel for His peculiar treasure.
5 For I know that YEHOWAH is great, and that our Master is above all elohim.
6 Whatsoever YEHOWAH pleases, He does, in heaven and in earth, in the seas and in all deeps.
7 He causes the vapors to ascend from the ends of the earth; He makes lightning for the rain; He brings forth the wind from His treasuries.
8 He smote the firstborn of Egypt, both of man and beast.
9 He sent signs and wonders into the midst of thee, O Egypt, upon Pharaoh, and upon all his servants.
10 He smote great nations and slew mighty kings,
11 Sihon, king of the Amorites, And Og, king of Bashan, and all the kingdoms of Canaan;
12 And He gave their land as a heritage, a heritage unto Israel His people.
13 Your name, O YEHOWAH, endures forever; and Your memorial, O YEHOWAH, throughout all generations.
14 For YEHOWAH will judge His people, and He will repent himself concerning His servants.
15 The idols of the nations are silver and gold, the work of mankind’s hands.
16 They have mouths, but they do not speak; they have eyes, but they do not see;
17 They have ears, but they do not hear, nor is there any breath in their mouths.
18 Those who make them are like them, so is everyone who trusts in them.
19 Bless YEHOWAH, O house of Israel; bless YEHOWAH, O house of Aaron.
20 Bless YEHOWAH, O house of Levi; you who revere YEHOWAH, bless YEHOWAH.
21 Blessed be YEHOWAH out of Zion, who dwells at Jerusalem. Praise YAH!

Psalm 136

Give thanks unto YEHOWAH, for He is good, for His
mercy endures forever.
2 Give thanks to the Elohim of elohim, for His mercy endures forever.
3 Give thanks to Lord of lords, for His mercy endures forever.
4 To Him who alone does great wonders, for His mercy endures forever.
5 To Him who by wisdom made the heavens, for His mercy endures forever.
6 To Him who stretched out the earth above the waters, for His mercy endures forever.
7 To Him who made the great lights, for His mercy endures forever.
8 The sun to rule by day, for His mercy endures forever.
9 The moon and stars to rule by night, for His mercy endures forever.
10 To Him who smote the Egypt in their firstborn, for His mercy endures forever,
11 and brought out Israel from among them, for His mercy endures forever,
12 with a strong hand and an outstretched arm, for His mercy endures forever.
13 To Him who divided the Red Sea into parts, for His mercy endures forever,
14 and made Israel to pass through the midst of it, for His mercy endures forever;
15 but He overthrew Pharaoh and his host in the Red Sea, for His mercy endures forever.
16 To Him who led His people through the wilderness, for His mercy endures forever.
17 To Him who smote great kings, for His mercy endures forever,
18 and slew mighty kings, for His mercy endures forever.
19 Sihon, king of the Amorites, for His mercy endures forever,
20 and Og, king of Bashan, for His mercy endures forever,
21 and gave their land for a heritage, for His mercy endures forever;
22 even a heritage unto Israel His servant, for His mercy endures forever.
23 Who remembered us in our low estate, for His mercy endures forever,
24 And has redeemed us from our enemies, for His mercy endures forever;
25 Who gives food to all flesh, for His mercy endures forever.
26 Give thanks to the El of heaven, for His
mercy endures forever.

Psalm 137

By the rivers of Babylon, there we sat down; yes, we wept when we remembered Zion.
2 We hung our harps upon the willows in the midst of it,
3 for there our captors required of us songs, and they that wasted us required of us mirth, saying, “Sing us one of the songs of Zion.”
4 How shall we sing YEHOWAH’S song in a strange land?
5 If I forget you, O Jerusalem, let my right hand forget.
6 If I do not remember you, let my tongue cleave to the roof of my mouth; if I prefer not Jerusalem above my chief joy.
7 Remember, O YEHOWAH, the children of Edom in the day of Jerusalem; who said, “Raze it, raze it to its very foundation.”
8 O daughter of Babylon, who are to be destroyed; how blessed will be the one who rewards you as you have served us.
9 How blessed will be the one who takes and dashes your little ones against the stones.

Psalm 138

A psalm of David:
I will worship You with all my heart; before the elohim I will sing praises unto You.
2 I will bow down toward Your holy temple and worship Your name for Your mercy and for Your truth; for You have magnified Your word above all Your name.
3 On the day I cried, You answered me, and strengthened me with strength in my soul.
4 All the kings of the earth will praise You, O YEHOWAH, when they hear the words of Your mouth.
5 Yes, they will sing of the ways of YEHOWAH, for great is the glory of YEHOWAH.
6 Though YEHOWAH is exalted, yet He respects the lowly, but the proud He knows from afar.
7 Though I walk in the midst of trouble, You will revive me; You will stretch forth Your hand against the wrath of my enemies, and Your right hand will save me.
8 YEHOWAH will perfect that which concerns me; Your mercy, O YEHOWAH, endures forever; forsake not the works of Your own hands.

Psalm 139

To the chief musician, a psalm of David:
O YEHOWAH, You have searched me and known.
2 You know when I sit down and when I rise up; You understand my thought from afar.
3 You encompassed my path and my lying down, and are acquainted with all my ways.
4 For there is not a word on my tongue, but lo, O YEHOWAH, You know it altogether.
5 You have enclosed me behind and before, and laid Your hand upon me.
6 Such knowledge is too wonderful for me; it is high, I cannot attain to it.
7 Where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence?
8 If I ascend to heaven, You are there; if I make my bed in hell, behold, You are there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, if I dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea,
10 Even there Your hand will lead me, and Your right hand will lay hold of me.
11 If I say, “Surely the darkness will cover me; even the night will be light about me.”
12 Yes, the darkness hides not from You, but the night shines as the day; the darkness and the light are both alike to You.
13 For You created my inward parts; You covered me in my mother’s womb.
14 I will worship You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; marvelous are Your works; and my soul knows it very well.
15 My body was not hidden from You, when I was made in secret, and curiously wrought in the lowest parts of the earth;
16 Your eyes saw my substance, yet being imperfect; and in Your book all my members were written; the days that were fashioned for me, when as yet there was none of them.
17 How precious also are Your thoughts unto me, O El! How great is the sum of them!
18 If I should count them, they are more in number than the sand. When I awake, I am still with You.
19 Surely You will slay the wicked, O Eloah. Depart from me, therefore, you men of bloodshed;
20 for they speak against You wickedly, and Your enemies take Your name in vain.
21 Do I not hate them, O YEHOWAH, that hate You? And am I not grieved with those who rise up against You?
22 I hate them with perfect hatred. I count them my enemies.
23 Search me, O El, and know my heart; try me and know my thoughts;
24 And see if there be any wicked way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting.

Psalm 140

To the chief musician, a psalm of David:
Deliver me, O YEHOWAH, from evil one; preserve me from the violent ones
2 who imagine evil in their heart. Continually are they gathered together for war.
3 They sharpen their tongues as a serpent; adders poison is under their lips. Selah.
4 Keep me, O YEHOWAH, from the hands of the wicked; preserve me from violent ones, who have purposed to overthrow my goings.
5 The proud have hidden a snare for me, and cords; they have spread a net by the wayside; they have set nooses for me. Selah.
6 I said unto YEHOWAH, “You are my El; give ear to the voice of my supplications, O YEHOWAH.
7 O YEHOWAH, Master, the strength of my deliverance, You have covered my head in the day of battle.
8 Grant not, O YEHOWAH, the desires of the wicked; further not their wicked device, lest they exalt themselves.” Selah.
9 “As for the head of those who encompass me round about, let the mischief of their own lips cover them.
10 Let burning coals fall upon them; let them be cast into the fire; into deep pits that they rise not up again.
11 Let not an evil speaker be established in the earth; let evil hunt the violent ones to overthrow them.”
12 I know that YEHOWAH will maintain the cause of the afflicted, and the right of the poor.
13 Surely the righteous will worship Your name; the upright will dwell in Your presence.

Psalm 141

A psalm of David:
YEHOWAH, I cry unto You; hasten unto me! Give ear unto my voice when I cry unto You.
2 Let my prayer be set forth before You as incense; and the lifting up of my hands as the evening sacrifice.
3 Set a watch, O YEHOWAH, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips.
4 Incline not my heart to any evil thing; to practice wicked deeds with those who do iniquity, and let me not eat of their dainties.
5 Let the righteous smite me in kindness, and reprove me; it will be an excellent oil, which will not break my head; for yet my prayer is for them in their calamities.
6 When their judges are thrown down in stony places, they will hear my words; for they are sweet.
7 Our bones are scattered at the grave’s mouth, as when one cuts and cleaves upon the earth.
8 But my eyes are unto You, O YEHOWAH, my Master. In You is my trust; do not leave my soul destitute and as nothing.
9 Keep me from the snares that they have set for me, and from the nooses of the workers of iniquity.
10 Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I
escape safely.

Psalm 142

A poem of David; a prayer when he was in the cave:
I cried unto YEHOWAH with my voice; with my voice unto YEHOWAH did I make my supplication.
2 I poured out my complaint before Him; I declared before Him my trouble.
3 When my spirit was overwhelmed within me, You knew my path. In the way where I walked they have secretly laid a snare for me.
4 I looked to my right, and beheld, there was no one there that would know me. Retreat failed me; no one cared for my soul.
5 I cried out to You, O YEHOWAH; I said, “You are my refuge, and my portion in the land of the living.
6 Attend to my cry, for I am brought very low; deliver me from my persecutors, for they are stronger than I.
7 Bring my soul out of prison, so that I may worship Your name. The righteous will encompass me, for You will deal bountifully with me.”

Psalm 143

A psalm of David:
Hear my prayer, O YEHOWAH, give ear to my supplications! Answer me in Your faithfulness, and in Your righteousness!
2 And enter not into judgment with Your servant, for in Your sight no man living is righteous.
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul; he has crushed my life down to the ground; he has made me dwell in dark places, like those that have long been dead.
4 Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.
6 I stretch forth my hands unto You. My soul thirsts for You, as a thirsty land. Selah.
7 Answer me speedily, O YEHOWAH, my spirit fails; hide not Your face from me, lest I will become like those who go down to the pit.
8 Let me hear Your lovingkindness in the morning; for I trust in You; cause me to know the way in wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul into You.
9 Deliver me, O YEHOWAH, from my enemies; I flee unto You to hide me.
10 Teach me to do Your will, for You are my Elohim; let Your good Spirit lead me into the land of uprightness.
11 Revive me, O YEHOWAH, for Your name’s sake. For Your righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 And in Your mercy, cut off my enemies and destroy all those who afflict my soul; for I am Your servant.

Psalm 144

A psalm of David:
Blessed be YEHOWAH, my rock, who trains my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.
2 My goodness and my fortress, my high tower and my deliverer, my shield and He in whom I trust; who subdues my people under me.
3 YEHOWAH, what is mankind, that You take knowledge of them? Or the children of man, that You regard them?
4 Mankind is like emptiness; their days are like a shadow that passes away.
5 Bow Your heavens, O YEHOWAH, and come down; touch the mountains, and they will smoke.
6 Cast forth lightning and scatter them; send out Your arrows and destroy them.
7 Stretch forth Your hand from above; deliver me and rescue me out of great waters, from the hand of heathen children;
8 whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood.
9 I will sing a new song unto You, O Elohim. Upon a psaltery of ten strings I will sing praises unto You
10 who gives salvation to kings; who delivers David His servant from the evil sword.
11 Deliver me and rescue me from the hand of heathen children, whose mouths speak lies, and whose right hand is a right hand of falsehood:
12 That our sons may be as plants grown up in their youth, and our daughters as corner stones, polished in the form of a palace;
13 that our garners may be full, furnishing all manner of store; that our flocks may bring forth thousands and ten thousands in our fields;
14 that our cattle may be strong to labor; that there be no breaking in, or going out; that there be no outcry in our streets!
15 Happy are the people who are in such a case. Happy are the people whose Elohim is YEHOWAH!

Psalm 145

David’s psalm of praise:
I will exalt You, my Elohim, O King, and I will bless Your name forever and ever.
2 Every day I will bless You, and I will praise Your name forever and ever.
3 Great is YEHOWAH, and greatly to be praised, and His greatness is unsearchable.
4 One generation shall praise Your works to another, and shall declare Your mighty acts.
5 I will speak of the glorious honor of Your majesty, and of Your wondrous works.
6 Mankind shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts, and I will declare Your greatness.
7 They shall abundantly utter the memory of Your great goodness, and will sing of Your righteousness.
8 YEHOWAH is gracious and full of compassion; slow to anger and of great mercy.
9 YEHOWAH is good to all, and His mercies are over all His works.
10 All Your works shall praise You, O YEHOWAH, and Your saints shall bless You.
11 They shall speak of the glory of Your kingdom, and talk of Your power;
12 to make known to the children of men Your mighty acts, and the glorious majesty of Your kingdom.
13 Your kingdom is an everlasting kingdom, and Your dominion endures throughout all generations.
14 YEHOWAH upholds all who fall, and raises up all who bow down.
15 The eyes of all wait upon You, and You give them their meat in due season.
16 You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
17 YEHOWAH is righteous in all His ways, and holy in all His deeds.
18 YEHOWAH is near to all who call upon Him, to all who call upon Him in truth.
19 He will fulfill the desire of those who revere Him; He also will hear their cry, and will save them.
20 YEHOWAH preserves all those who love Him, but all the wicked will He destroy.
21 My mouth will speak the praise of YEHOWAH, and all flesh will bless His holy name forever and ever.

Psalm 146

Praise YAH! Praise YEHOWAH, O my soul!
2 I will praise YEHOWAH while I live; I will sing praises unto my Elohim while I have my being.
3 Put not your trust in princes, or in the children of man, in whom there is no deliverance.
4 Their breath departs, they return to the earth; in that very day their thoughts perish.
5 Happy are they who have the El of Jacob, whose hope is in YEHOWAH his Elohim,
6 who made heaven and earth, the sea and all that is in them; who keeps truth forever;
7 who executes judgment for the oppressed; who gives food to the hungry. YEHOWAH frees the prisoners.
8 YEHOWAH opens the eyes of the blind; YEHOWAH raises up those who bow down; YEHOWAH loves the righteous.
9 YEHOWAH preserves the sojourners; He lifts up the fatherless and the widow, but the way of the wicked He turns upside down.
10 YEHOWAH will reign forever; Your Elohim, O Zion, to all generations. Praise YAH!

Psalm 147

Praise YAH! For it is good to sing praises unto our Elohim; for it is pleasant and praise is beautiful.
2 YEHOWAH builds up Jerusalem; He gathers together the outcasts of Israel.
3 He heals the brokenhearted, and binds up their wounds.
4 He appoints the number of the stars; He calls them all by name.
5 Great is our Master, and of abundant strength. His understanding is infinite.
6 YEHOWAH lifts up the meek; He casts the wicked down to the ground.
7 Sing unto YEHOWAH with thanksgiving; sing praises upon the harp unto our Elohim,
8 who covers the heavens with clouds, who prepares rain for the earth, who makes grass to grow upon the mountains.
9 He gives to the beast its food, and to the young ravens which cry.
10 He does not delight in the strength of the horse; He does not take pleasure in the legs of a man;
11 YEHOWAH takes pleasure in those who fear Him; in those who hope in His mercy.
12 Praise YEHOWAH, O Jerusalem; praise your Elohim, O Zion!
13 For He has strengthened the bars of your gates; He has blessed your children within you.
14 He makes peace in your borders; He fills you with the finest of the wheat.
15 He sends forth His commandment to the earth; His word runs very swiftly.
16 He gives snow like wool; He scatters the covering frost like ashes.
17 He casts forth His ice like morsels. Who can stand before His cold?
18 He sends forth His word and melts them; He causes His wind to blow, and the waters to flow.
19 He declares His words unto Jacob, His statutes and His ordinances unto Israel.
20 He has not dealt so with any nation; and as for His judgments, they have not known them. Praise YAH!

Psalm 148

Praise YAH! Praise YEHOWAH from the heavens; praise Him in the heights.
2 Paise Him, all His angels; praise Him, all His hosts.
3 Praise Him, sun and moon; praise Him, all you stars of light.
4 Praise Him, heaven of heavens, and you waters that are above the heavens.
5 Let them praise the name of YEHOWAH; for He commanded, and they were created.
6 He has also established them forever and ever; He has made a decree, which will not pass.
7 Praise YEHOWAH from the earth, you sea-monsters, and all deeps.
8 Fire and hail, snow and clouds; stormy wind fulfilling His word;
9 mountains and all hills; fruitful trees and all cedars;
10 beasts and all cattle; creeping things and winged fowl;
11 kings of the earth, and all people; princes and all judges of the earth;
12 both young men and maidens; elderly and children.
13 Let them praise the name of YEHOWAH, for His name alone is exalted; His glory is above earth and heaven.
14 He also lifts up the horn of His people; the praise of all His saints; even of the children of Israel, a people near to Him. Praise YAH!

Psalm 149

Praise YAH! Sing unto YEHOWAH a new song, and His praise in the congregation of the saints.
2 Let Israel be glad in Him that made him; let the children of Zion be joyful in their King.
3 Let them praise His name with dancing; let them sing praises to Him with tambourine and harp.
4 For YEHOWAH takes pleasure in His people; He will beautify the meek with deliverance.
5 Let the saints be joyful in glory; let them sing for joy upon their beds.
6 Let the high praises of El be in their mouth, and a two-edged sword in their hand,
7 to execute vengeance upon the heathen and punishment upon the people,
8 to bind their kings with chains, and their nobles with fetters of iron;
9 To execute upon them the judgment written. This honor is for all His saints. Praise YAH!

Psalm 150

Praise YAH! Praise El in His sanctuary. Praise Him in the firmament of His power.
2 Praise Him for His mighty acts. Praise Him according to His excellent greatness.
3 Praise Him with the sound of trumpets. Praise Him with lyre and harp.
4 Praise Him with timbrels and dancing. Praise Him with stringed instruments and organs.
5 Praise Him with loud cymbals. Praise Him with resounding cymbals.
6 Let everything that has breath praise YAH. Praise YAH!
