JOHN:  CHAPTER 1

JOHN:  CHAPTER 1

In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with Elohim, and the Word was Elohim.
2 He was in the beginning with Elohim.
3 All things were made by Him, and without Him not a thing was made, that was made.
4 In Him was life, and the life was the Light of mankind.
5 And the Light shined in the darkness, but the darkness did not comprehend it.
6 There came a man, sent from Elohim, whose name was Yehanan (John).
7 He came as a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all might believe through him.
8 He was not the Light, but came that he might bear witness of the Light.
9 There was the true Light which, coming into the world, enlightens everyone.
10 He was in the world, and the world was made by Him, but the world did not know Him.
11 He came to His own, but His own received Him not.
12 But as many as received Him, to them He gave the power to become children of Elohim; even to those who believe on His Name,
13 who were born not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of mankind, but of Elohim.
14 And the Word became flesh, and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory; glory as of the only Begotten from the Father, full of grace and truth.
15 John bore witness of Him, and cried out, saying, “This is He of Whom I said, ‘He who comes after me is preferred over me; for He existed before me.’”
16 And of His fullness we have all received; and grace upon grace,
17 for the Law was given through Moses; grace and truth were realized through YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach.
18 No man has seen Elohim at any time; the only Begotten Son, Who is in the bosom of the Father, He has declared Him.
19 And this is the testimony of John, when the Yehudi sent priests and Levites from Jerusalem to ask him, “Who are you?”
20 And he confessed, and denied not; but confessed, “I am not the Messiah.”
21 And they asked him, “What then? Are you Eliyeh?” And he said, “I am not.”  “Are you the Prophet?” And he answered, “No.”
22 They said then to him, “Who are you, so that we may give an answer to those who sent us? What do you say about yourself?”
23 He said, “I am ‘The voice of him that cries in the wilderness, “Prepare the way of The Master, make straight in the desert a highway for our Elohim,’” as Isaiyeh the prophet said.” 1
24 Now those who were sent were of the Pharisees,
25 and they asked him, and said to him, “Why then are you baptizing, if you are not the Messiah, nor Eliyeh, nor the Prophet?”
26 John answered them saying, “I baptize in water, but there stands One among you, Whom you do not know.
27 He it is, Who comes after me, the thong of Whose sandal I am not worthy to untie.”
28 These things were done in Bethany beyond the Jordan, where John was baptizing.
29 The next day John saw YEHOSHUA coming to him, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of Elohim, Who takes away the sin of the world.
30 This is He of Whom I said, ‘After me comes a Man Who is preferred over me; for He existed before me.’
31 And I knew Him not.  But that He should be made manifest to Israel, therefore, I came baptizing in water.”
32 And John bore witness saying, “I saw The Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, and He remained upon Him.
33 And I knew Him not, but He Who sent me to baptize with water said to me, ‘Upon Whom you see The Spirit descending and remaining upon Him, this is He Who baptizes in The Holy Spirit;’
34 and I saw, and bare witness that this is the Son of Elohim.”
35 Again the next day John was standing with two of his disciples,
36 and he looked upon YEHOSHUA as He walked, and said, “Behold, the Lamb of Elohim!”
37 And the two disciples heard him speak, and they followed YEHOSHUA.
38 And YEHOSHUA turned, and saw them following, and said to them, “What do you seek?” And they said to Him, “Rabbi” (which interpreted means Teacher), “where are You staying?”
39 He said to them, “Come and see.”  They came therefore, and saw where He was staying; and they stayed with Him that day, for it was about the tenth hour.
40 One of the two who heard John speak, and followed Him, was Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother.
41 He found first his own brother Simon, and said to him, “We have found the Mashiach” (which interpreted means Messiah).
42 He brought him to YEHOSHUA, and when YEHOSHUA beheld him, He said, “You are Simon the son of John; you shall be called Cephas” (which is by interpretation, a stone.).
43 The following day YEHOSHUA went forth into Galilee, and He found Philip, and said unto him, “Follow Me.”
44 Now Philip was from Bethsaida, of the city of Andrew and Peter.
45 Philip found Nathanael and said to him, “We have found Him of Whom Moses in the Law, and also the prophets wrote, YEHOSHUA of Nazareth, the son of Joseph.”
46 And Nathanael said to him, “Can there be any good thing come out of Nazareth?” Philip said to him, “Come and see.”
47 YEHOSHUA saw Nathanael coming to Him, and said of him, “Behold, an Israelite indeed, in whom is no guile!”
48 Nathanael said to Him, “From where do You know me?” YEHOSHUA answered and said to him, “Before Philip called you, when you were under the fig tree, I saw you.”
49 Nathanael answered and said unto Him, “Rabbi, You are the Son of Elohim; You are the King of Israel.”
50 YEHOSHUA answered and said to him, “Because I said to you that I saw you under the fig tree, do you believe? You shall see greater things than these.”
51 And He said to him, “Amen, Amen I say to you, hereafter you will see heaven open, and the angels of Elohim ascending and descending upon the Son of Man.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 2

JOHN:  CHAPTER 2

And the third day there was a marriage in Cana of Galilee, and the mother of YEHOSHUA was there;
2 and both YEHOSHUA was invited, and His disciples, to the marriage.
3 And when they needed more wine, the mother of YEHOSHUA said to Him, “They have no wine.”
4 And YEHOSHUA said to her, “Woman, what do I have to do with you? My hour has not yet come.”
5 His mother said to the servants, “Whatever He says to you, do it.”
6 And six water pots of stone set there, after the manner of the purifying for the Yehudi, containing about twenty gallons each.
7 And YEHOSHUA said to them, “Fill the water pots with water.”  And they filled them up to the brim.
8 And He said to them, “Draw out now, and take it to the governor of the feast.”  And they took it to him.
9 And when the governor of the feast tasted the water that was made wine, and did not know where it came from (but the servants who had drawn the water knew), the headwaiter called the bridegroom,
10 and said to him, “All mankind serves the good wine first, and when everyone has drunk freely, then that which is poorer; you have kept the good wine until now.”
11 This beginning of His miracles YEHOSHUA did in Cana of Galilee, and manifested His glory, and His disciples believed on Him.
12 After this He went down to Capernaum; He and His mother, and His brothers, and His disciples; and there they stayed a few days.
13 And the Passover of the Yehudi was at hand, and YEHOSHUA went up to Jerusalem.
14 And He found in the temple those who sold oxen and sheep and doves; and the money-changers seated.
15 And He made a scourge of cords, and drove them all out of the temple, with the sheep and the oxen; and He poured out the changer’s money, and overturned their tables;
16 and said unto those that sold the doves, “Take these things away, and make not My Father’s house a house of merchandise.”
17 And His disciples remembered that it was written, “Zeal of Your house consumes Me.” 2
18 The Yehudi then said to Him, “What sign do You show us, seeing that You do these things?”
19 YEHOSHUA answered and said to them, “Destroy this temple, and in three days I will raise it up.”
20 Then the Yehudi said, “It took forty-six years to build this temple, and will You raise it up in three days?”
21 But He spoke of the temple of His body.
22 When therefore He was risen from the dead, His disciples remembered that He said this; and they believed the Scripture, and the words which YEHOSHUA had said.
23 Now when He was in Jerusalem at the Passover, on the feast day, many believed in His Name, when they saw the miracles that He did.
24 But YEHOSHUA did not entrust Himself to them, because He knew all mankind,
25 and because He did not need anyone to testify about mankind; for He knew what was in mankind.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 3

JOHN:  CHAPTER 3

There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus; a ruler of the Yehudi.
2 This man came to YEHOSHUA by night, and said to Him, “Rabbi, we know that You are a teacher come from Elohim; for no one can do these miracles that You do, unless Elohim is with him.”
3 YEHOSHUA answered and said to him, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless one is born again, they cannot see the kingdom of Elohim.”
4 Nicodemus said to Him, “How can a human be born when they are old? They cannot enter a second time into their mother’s womb and be born, can they?”
5 YEHOSHUA answered, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless one is born of water and of The Spirit, they cannot enter into the kingdom of Elohim.
6 That which is born of the flesh is flesh, and that which is born of The Spirit is spirit.
7 Marvel not that I said to you, ‘You must be born again.’
8 The wind blows where it desires and you hear the sound of it, but do not know where it comes from or where it is going; so is everyone who is born of The Spirit.”
9 Nicodemus answered and said to Him, “How can these things be?”
10 YEHOSHUA answered and said to him, “Are you a teacher of Israel, and do not understand these things?
11 Amen, amen, I say to you, we speak of what we know, and bear witness of what we have seen; and you do not receive our witness.
12 If I tell you earthly things, and you do not believe, how shall you believe if I tell you heavenly things?
13 And no one ascends into heaven, but they who descend from heaven, even the Son of Man.
14 And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of Man be lifted up,
15 that whoever believes on Him will not perish, but have eternal life.
16 For Elohim so loved the world, that He gave His only Begotten Son, that whosoever believes on Him should not perish, but have eternal life.
17 For Elohim did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him should be saved.
18 Those who believe on Him are not condemned, but those who do not believe are condemned already, because they have not believed upon the Name of the only Begotten Son of Elohim.
19 And this is the condemnation:  That the Light has come into the world, and mankind loves the darkness rather than the Light, because their deeds were evil.
20 For everyone who does evil hates the Light, and comes not to the Light, lest their deeds should be rebuked.
21 But those who practice the truth come to the Light, that their deeds may be made visible; having been worked out with Elohim.”
22 After these things YEHOSHUA and His disciples came into the land of Yehudah, and there He remained with them, and baptizing.
23 And John also was baptizing in Aenon near Salim, because there was much water there; and they came, and were being baptized;
24 for John had not yet been cast into prison.
25 Then there arose a question between John’s disciples and the Yehudi about purification.
26 And they came to John and said to him, “Rabbi, He Who was with you beyond the Jordan, to Whom you have borne witness, behold, the same baptizes, and all are coming to Him.”
27 John answered and said, “A man can receive nothing, unless it has been given him from heaven.
28 You yourselves bear me witness, that I said, ‘I am not the Messiah,’ but that, ‘I am sent before Him.’
29 He that has the bride is the bridegroom, but the friend of the bridegroom, who stands and hears him, rejoices greatly because of the bridegroom’s voice.  In this my joy, therefore, is fulfilled.
30 He must increase, but I must decrease.
31 He Who comes from above is above all.  Those who are of the earth are earthly, and speak of the earth.  He Who comes from heaven is above all.
32 And what He has seen and heard, of that He testifies, but no one receives His testimony.
33 Those who receive His testimony set their seal to this, that Elohim is true.
34 For He Whom Elohim has sent speaks the words of Elohim, for Elohim gives The Spirit without measure.
35 The Father loves the Son, and has given all things into His hand.
36 Those who believe on the Son have eternal life, but those who do not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of Elohim abides upon them.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 4

JOHN:  CHAPTER 4

When therefore the Master knew that the Pharisees had heard that YEHOSHUA was making and baptizing more disciples than John
2 (Though YEHOSHUA Himself was not baptizing, but His disciples were),
3 He left Yehudah, and departed again into Galilee;
4 and He had to pass through Samaria.
5 So He came to a city of Samaria called Sychar, near the parcel of ground that Jacob gave to his son Yehseph;
6 and Jacob’s well was there.  YEHOSHUA therefore, being wearied from His journey, sat even so on the well.  It was about the sixth hour.
7 There came a woman of Samaria to draw water;  YEHOSHUA said to her, “Give Me a drink.”
8 For His disciples had gone away into the city to buy food.
9 The Samaritan woman therefore said to Him, “How is it that You, being a Yehudi, asks me for a drink, since I am a Samaritan woman?” For Yehudi have no dealings with Samaritans.
10 YEHOSHUA answered and said to her, “If you knew the gift of Elohim, and Who it is that says to you, ‘Give Me a drink,’ you would have asked of Him, and He would have given you living water.”
11 The woman said to Him, “Sir, You have nothing to draw with, and the well is deep; from where then do You get that living water?
12 Are You greater than our father Jacob who gave us the well, and drank of it himself, and his children, and his cattle?”
13 YEHOSHUA answered and said to her, “Whosoever drinks of this water will thirst again,
14 but whosoever drinks of the water that I shall give them shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give them will become in them a well of water springing up to eternal life.”
15 The woman said to Him, “Sir, give me this water, so I will not be thirsty, nor come here to draw.”
16 YEHOSHUA said to her, “Go, call your husband, and come here.”
17 The woman answered and said, “I have no husband!”  YEHOSHUA said to her, “You have well said, ‘I have no husband’,
18 for you have had five husbands, and the one whom you now have is not your husband; in this you have said truly.”
19 The woman said to Him, “Sir, I perceive that You are a prophet.
20 Our fathers worshiped on this mountain, and you say that in Jerusalem is the place where mankind ought to worship.”
21 YEHOSHUA said to her, “Woman, believe Me, an hour is coming when neither on this mountain, nor in Jerusalem, shall you worship the Father.
22 You worship what you do not know; we know what we worship, for salvation is from the Yehudi.
23 But the hour is coming, and now is, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father seeks such to worship Him.
24 Elohim is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.”
25 The woman said to Him, “I know that Mashiach is coming, Who is called Messiah. When He comes, He will tell us all things.”
26 YEHOSHUA said to her, “I who speak to you am He.”
27 And upon this came His disciples, and they marveled that He talked with the woman.  Yet no one said, “What do you seek?” or, “Why do You speak with her?”
28 So the woman left her water pot, and went into the city, and said to the people,
29 “Come, see a Man, who told me all the things that I ever did.  Is not this the Messiah?”
30 They went out of the city, and came unto Him.
31 In the meanwhile the disciples urged Him, saying, “Master, eat.”
32 But He said to them, “I have food to eat that you do not know of.”
33 The disciples therefore said to one another, “Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?”
34 YEHOSHUA said to them, “My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work.
35 Do you not say, ‘There are yet four months, and then comes the harvest’? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest.
36 And they who reap receive wages, and gather fruit unto life eternal.  That both they who sow, and they who reap may rejoice together.
37 For in this the saying is true, ‘One sows, and another reaps.’
38 I sent you to reap that for which you have not labored; others have labored, and you have entered into their labor.”
39 And many of the Samaritans from that city believed on Him, because of the words of the woman who testified, “He told me all that I ever did.”
40 So when the Samaritans came to Him, they asked Him to stay with them; and He remained there two days.
41 And many more believed because of His Word.
42 And they said to the woman, “Now we believe, not because of your words, for we have heard ourselves, and know that this is indeed the Messiah; the Deliverer of the world.”
43 And after two days He departed there, and went into Galilee.
44 For YEHOSHUA Himself testified that a prophet has no honor in his own country.
45 Then when He came to Galilee, the Galileans received Him, having seen all the things that He did in Jerusalem at the feast; for they themselves also went to the feast.
46 So YEHOSHUA came again into Cana of Galilee, where He made the water wine.  And there was a certain nobleman, whose son was sick at Capernaum.
47 When he heard that YEHOSHUA had come out of Yehudah into Galilee, he went to Him, and requested of Him that He would come down and heal his son; for he was at the point of death.
48 Then YEHOSHUA said to him, “Unless you see signs and wonders, you will not believe.”
49 The nobleman said to Him, “Sir, come down before my child dies.”
50 YEHOSHUA said to him, “Go your way; your son lives.”  The man believed the Word that YEHOSHUA spoke unto him, and he went his way.
51 And as he was now going down his slaves met him, saying his son was living.
52 So he inquired of them the hour when he began to mend.  And they said to him, “Yesterday at the seventh hour the fever left him.”
53 So the father knew that healing came at the same hour in which YEHOSHUA said to him, “Your son lives.”  And he himself believed, and his whole house.
54 This is again the second miracle that YEHOSHUA performed, when He had come out of Yehudah into Galilee.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 5

JOHN:  CHAPTER 5

After this there was a feast of the Yehudi, and YEHOSHUA went up to Jerusalem.
2 Now there is in Jerusalem, by the sheep gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, “Bethesda”, having five porches.
3 And in these lay a great multitude of feeble, blind, lame and withered, waiting for the moving of the water;
4 for an angel of the Master went down at certain seasons into the pool, and agitated the water.  Whoever then first, after the agitating of the water, stepped in, was made well from whatever disease they had.
5 And a certain man was there, who had been thirty-eight years in his sickness.
6 When YEHOSHUA saw him lying there, and knew that he had now been a long time, He said to him, “Do you wish to made whole?”
7 The diseased man answered Him, “Sir, I have no one to put me into the pool when the water is agitated, but while I am coming, another steps down before me.”
8 YEHOSHUA said to him, “Rise, take up your bed, and walk.”
9 And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his pallet and walked.  And on that day it was the Sabbath.
10 The Yehudi therefore, said to him who was cured, “It is the Sabbath, and it is not permissible for you to carry your bed.”
11 But he answered them, “He Who made me whole is the one Who said to me, ‘Take up your bed and walk.’”
12 They asked him, “Who is the Man Who said to you, ‘Take up your bed, and walk’?”
13 But he who was healed did not know Who it was, for YEHOSHUA had withdrawn while there was a multitude in that place.
14 Afterward YEHOSHUA found him in the temple, and said to him, “Behold, you are made whole.  Sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto you.”
15 And the man departed, and told the Yehudi that it was YEHOSHUA Who had made him well.
16 Therefore, the Yehudi did persecute YEHOSHUA, and sought to kill Him, because He did these things on the Sabbath.
17 But He answered them, “My Father works up to now, and I work.”
18 Therefore the Yehudi sought all the more to kill Him, because He not only broke the Sabbath, but said also that Elohim was His Father, making Himself equal with Elohim.
19 Then YEHOSHUA answered and said unto them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, except what He sees the Father do; for whatever the Father does, these also does the Son likewise.
20 For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does, and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel.
21 For just as the Father raises up the dead, and gives them life, even so the Son also gives life to whom He wills.
22 For the Father judges no one, but He has given all judgment to the Son,
23 so that all should honor the Son, even as they honor the Father.  Those who do not honor the Son do not honor the Father Who sent Him.
24 Amen, amen, I say to you, all who hear My Words, and believe Him Who sent Me, have eternal life, and do not come into condemnation, but have passed from death unto life.
25 Amen, amen, I say to you, an hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of Elohim; and those who hear will live.
26 For as the Father has life in Himself, so He has given to the Son to have life in Himself,
27 and gave Him authority to execute judgment also, because He is the Son of man.
28 Marvel not at this, for an hour is coming in which all who are in the grave will hear His voice,
29 and will come forth; those who did good, to a resurrection of life, and those who have done evil, unto the resurrection of condemnation.
30 I can do nothing of Myself.  As I hear, I judge; and My judgment is just, because I do not seek My own will, but the will of the Father Who has sent Me.
31 If I bear witness of Myself, My testimony is not true.
32 There is another Who bears witness of Me, and I know that the testimony which He witnesses of Me is true.
33 You have sent to Yehanan, and he has borne witness unto the truth,
34 but I receive not witness from mankind.  But these things I say, so that you might be saved.
35 He was a burning and shining light, and you were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.
36 But I have greater witness than Yehanan, for the works which the Father has given Me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of Me, that the Father has sent Me.
37 And the Father Himself, Who sent Me, has borne witness of Me.  You have neither heard His voice at any time, nor seen His shape.
38 And you do not have His Word abiding in you, for whom He has sent, Him you do not believe.
39 Search the Scriptures, for in them you think you have eternal life.  But it is they which testify of Me.
40 And you will not come to Me, that you might have life.
41 I do not receive glory from mankind.
42 But I know you, and that you do not have the love of Elohim in you.
43 I have come in My Father’s Name, and you do not receive Me.  If another comes in his own name, him you will receive.
44 How can you believe, when you receive honor one from another, but seek not the honor that is from Elohim only?
45 Do not think that I will accuse you before the Father. There is one who accuses you; Moses, in whom you trust.
46 For if you believed Moses, you would believe Me, for he wrote of Me.
47 But if you believe not his writings, how will you believe My Words?”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 6

JOHN:  CHAPTER 6

After these things YEHOSHUA went over the Sea of Galilee, which is Tiberias.
2 And a great multitude followed Him, because they saw His miracles which He did on those who were diseased.
3 And YEHOSHUA went up on the mountain, and there He sat with His disciples.
4 Now the Passover, the feast of the Yehudi, was near.
5 When YEHOSHUA then lifted up His eyes, and saw that a great multitude had come to Him, He said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread, that these may eat?”
6 And this He said to test him, for He Himself knew what He would do.
7 Philip answered Him, “Two hundred denarius worth of bread is not sufficient for them, that every one of them may take a little.”
8 One of His disciples, Andrew, Simon Peter’s brother, said to Him,
9 “There is a lad here, who has five barley loaves, and two fish, but what are these for so many?”
10 And YEHOSHUA said, “Have the people sit down.”  Now there was much grass in the place, so the people sat down; in number about five thousand.
11 And YEHOSHUA took the loaves; and when He had given thanks, He distributed to the disciples, and the disciples to them that were seated; and likewise of the fish, as much as they pleased.
12 And when they were filled, He said to His disciples, “Gather up the fragments that nothing may be lost.”
13 Therefore they gathered them, and filled twelve baskets with fragments from the five barley loaves, which remained over and above by those who had eaten.
14 Then those people, when they had seen the miracle that YEHOSHUA did, said, “This is of a truth, the Prophet that should come into the world!”
15 When YEHOSHUA therefore perceived that they would come and take Him by force, to make Him king, He departed again unto a mountain by Himself alone.
16 And when evening came His disciples went down to the sea,
17 and entered into a ship, and went over the sea toward Capernaum.  And it was now dark, and YEHOSHUA had not come to them.
18 And the sea began to be stirred up because a strong wind was blowing.
19 So when they had rowed about three or four miles, they beheld YEHOSHUA walking on the sea, and drawing near unto the ship; and they were frightened.
20 But He said unto them, “It is I; be not afraid.”
21 Then they willingly received Him into the ship; and immediately the ship was at the land where they were going.
22 The next day, when the multitude that stood on the other side of the sea, saw that there was no other ship there, except the one into which His disciples had entered, and that YEHOSHUA had not entered into it with His disciples, but that His disciples had gone away alone;
23 (However there came other boats from Tiberias near to the place where they ate the bread, after the Master had given thanks).
24 When the multitude therefore saw that YEHOSHUA was not there, nor His disciples, they also took ships, and came to Capernaum, seeking YEHOSHUA.
25 And when they found Him on the other side of the sea, they said to Him, “Rabbi, when did You come here?”
26 YEHOSHUA answered them and said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, you seek Me, not because you saw miracles, but because you ate of the loaves, and were filled.
27 Do not work for the food which perishes, but for the food which endures unto eternal life, which the Son of Man shall give to you; for Him has El the Father sealed.”
28 Then they said to Him, “What shall we do, that we might work the works of Elohim?”
29 YEHOSHUA answered and said to them, “This is the work of Elohim; that you believe on Him Whom He has sent.”
30 They said therefore to Him, “What sign do You show us then, that we may see and believe You? What work do You perform?
31 Our fathers ate manna in the wilderness; as it is written, ‘He gave them of the wheat of heaven.’” 3
32 Then YEHOSHUA said to them, “Amen, amen, I say unto you, Moses did not give you that bread from heaven, but My Father gives you the True Bread from heaven;
33 for the bread of Elohim is He Who comes down from heaven, and gives life unto the world.”
34 Then they said to Him, “Master, evermore give us this bread.”
35 And YEHOSHUA said to them, “I am the bread of life; whoever comes to Me shall never hunger, and whoever believes on Me shall never thirst.
36 But I said unto you, that you have seen Me, and believe not.
37 All whom the Father gives Me shall come to Me, and those who come to Me I will in no way cast out.
38 For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him Who sent Me.
39 And this is the Father’s will, Who has sent Me, that of all that He has given Me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day.
40 And this is the will of Him that sent Me, that everyone who sees the Son, and believes on Him, may have everlasting life.  And I will raise them up at the last day.”
41 The Yehudi therefore murmured at Him, because He said, “I am the bread that came down out of heaven.”
42 And they said, “Is not this YEHOSHUA, the son of Joseph, Whose father and mother we know? How is it then that He says, ‘I came down from heaven’?”
43 YEHOSHUA answered and said to them, “Murmur not among yourselves.
44 Nobody can come to Me, except the Father Who has sent Me draws them.  And I will raise them up on the last day.
45 It is written in the prophets, ‘All your children will be taught of YEHOWAH.’ Everyone therefore, who has heard, and has learned from the Father, comes to Me. 4
46 Not that any human has seen the Father, except He Who is of Elohim; He has seen the Father.
47 Amen, amen, I say unto you, those who believe on Me have eternal life.
48 I am the bread of life.
49 Your fathers ate the manna in the wilderness, and are dead.
50 This is the bread which comes down from heaven, so that one may eat of it and not die.
51 I am the living bread that came down from heaven; if anyone eats of this bread, they will live forever; and the bread that I will give is My flesh, which I will give for the life of the world.”
52 The Yehudi therefore quarreled among themselves, saying, “How can this man give us His flesh to eat?”
53 Then YEHOSHUA said to them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man, and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
54 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up on the last day.
55 For My flesh is true food, and My blood is true drink.
56 Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood abides in Me, and I in them.
57 As the living Father has sent Me, and I live through the Father, so whoever eats Me, they also shall live through Me.
58 This is the bread which came down from heaven; not as your fathers ate manna, and are dead; those who eat of this bread shall live forever.”
59 These things He said in the synagogue, as He taught in Capernaum.
60 Many therefore of His disciples, when they heard this, said, “This is a hard saying; who can understand it?”
61 When YEHOSHUA knew within Himself that His disciples murmured at this, He said to them, “Does this cause you to stumble?
62 What if you should see the Son of Man ascend up to where He was before?
63 It is The Spirit Who gives life; the flesh profits nothing.  The Words that I speak unto you are Spirit, and are life.
64 But there are some of you who believe not.”  For YEHOSHUA knew from the beginning who they were that believed not, and who should betray Him.
65 And He said, “For this reason I said unto you, that no one can come unto Me, except it were given unto them from My Father.”
66 From that time many of His disciples withdrew, and walked no more with Him.
67 Then YEHOSHUA said unto the twelve, “Will you also go away?”
68 Simon Peter answered Him, “Master, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.
69 And we believe and are sure that You are Mashiach, the Son of the living Elohim.”
70 YEHOSHUA answered them, “Have I not chosen you twelve, and one of you is a devil?”
71 He spoke of Judas Iscariot son of Simon; for it was he that should betray Him, being one of the twelve.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 7

JOHN:  CHAPTER 7

After these things YEHOSHUA was walking in Galilee, for He was unwilling to walk in Yehudah, because the Yehudi sought to kill Him.
2 Now the feast of the Yehudi, the Feast of Booths, was at hand.
3 His brothers therefore said to Him, “Depart from here, and go into Yehudah, that Your disciples also may behold Your works which You are doing.
4 For no one does anything in secret, when he himself seeks to be known publicly.  If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”
5 For neither did His brothers believe on Him.
6 YEHOSHUA therefore said to them, “My time has not yet come, but your time is always ready.
7 The world cannot hate you, but Me it hates, because I testify of it, that its deeds are evil.
8 Go up to this feast; I do not go up unto this feast because My time has not yet fully come.”
9 And having said these things to them, He remained in Galilee.
10 But when His brothers had gone up, then He Himself also went up, not openly, but as it were, in secret.
11 The Yehudi therefore were seeking Him at the feast, and were saying, “Where is He?”
12 And there was much murmuring among the multitudes concerning Him, for some were saying, “He is a good man”; others were saying, “No, but He deceives the multitude.”
13 Yet no one was speaking openly of Him for fear of the Yehudi.
14 But about the midst of the feast YEHOSHUA went up into the temple, and taught.
15 And the Yehudi marveled, saying, “How does this man know Scripture, having no instruction?”
16 YEHOSHUA answered them, and said, “My instruction is not Mine, but His Who sent Me.
17 If anyone will do His will, they will be taught, whether it is of Elohim, or whether I speak from Myself.
18 Those who speak from themselves seek their own glory, but those who are seeking the glory of the One Who sent them, they are true, and there is no unrighteousness in them.
19 Did not Moses give you the Law, and yet none of you keeps the Law? Why do you seek to kill Me?”
20 The multitude answered, “You have a devil!  Who seeks to kill You?”
21 YEHOSHUA answered and said to them, “I have done one work, and you all marvel.
22 Moses therefore gave you circumcision (not because it is from Moses, but from the Father), and on the Sabbath you circumcise a man.
23 If a man receives circumcision on the Sabbath, so that the Law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with Me because I made a man every bit whole on the Sabbath?
24 Judge not according to the appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
25 Then some of the people of Jerusalem were saying, “Is this not the man Whom they seek to kill?
26 But behold, He speaks openly, and they say nothing to Him.  Do the rulers know in truth that this is the Mashiach?
27 However, we know where this man is from; but whenever the Mashiach may come, no one knows where He is from.”
28 YEHOSHUA then cried out in the temple, teaching and saying, “You both know Me, and know where I am from; and I have not come of Myself, but He Who sent Me is true, Whom you know not.
29 But I know Him; because I am from Him, and He has sent Me.”
30 Then they sought to seize Him, but nobody laid a hand on Him, because His hour had not yet come.
31 But many of the multitude believed on Him, and said, “When Mashiach comes, will He do more miracles than these, which this man has done?”
32 The Pharisees heard what the multitude murmured about Him, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to seize Him.
33 Then YEHOSHUA said to them, “For a little while I am with you, then I go to Him Who sent Me.
34 You shall seek Me, and shall not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come.”
35 The Yehudi therefore said to one another, “Where will He go that we shall not find Him? Will He go unto the dispersed among the Gentiles, and teach the Gentiles?
36 What is this saying that He said, ‘You will seek Me, and will not find Me; and where I am, you cannot come’?
37 On the last day, the great day of the feast, YEHOSHUA stood and cried out, saying, “If anyone is thirsty, let them come to Me and drink.
38 Those who believe on Me, as the Scripture says, ‘From their innermost being shall flow rivers of living water.’”
39 But this He spoke of The Spirit, Whom those who believe on Him are to receive, for The Spirit was not yet given, because YEHOSHUA was not yet glorified.
40 Some of the multitude therefore, when they heard these words, said, “Truly, this is the Prophet.”
41 Others said, “This is the Mashiach.” But others said, “Shall the Mashiach come out of Galilee?
42 Has not the Scripture said that the Mashiach comes of the seed of David, and out of the town of Bethlehem, the village where David was?”
43 So there arose a division among the multitude because of Him.
44 And some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
45 Then returned the officers of the chief priests and Pharisees, and they said to them, “Why did you not bring Him?”
46 The officers answered, “Never did a man speak the way this man speaks.”
47 Then answered the Pharisees, “Are you also being deceived?
48 Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed on Him?
49 But this multitude, who does not know the Law, are cursed.”
50 Nicodemus said to them (he who came to Him before, being one of them),
51 “Does our Law judge anyone before it first hears from them and knows what they are doing? Does it?”
52 They answered and said to him, “Are you also from Galilee? Search, and see; for no prophet arises out of Galilee.”
53 And everyone went to their home.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 8

JOHN:  CHAPTER 8

YEHOSHUA went unto the Mount of Olives,
2 And early in the morning He came again into the temple, and all the people came to Him; and He sat down and taught them.
3 And the scribes and the Pharisees brought unto Him a woman caught in adultery.  And when they had set her in their midst,
4 they said to Him, “Teacher, this woman has been caught in adultery; in the very act.
5 Now in the Law Moses commanded us that such should be stoned, but what do You say?”
6 This they said, testing Him; that they might have purpose for accusing Him.  But YEHOSHUA stooped down, and with His finger wrote on the ground.
7 When they continued asking Him, He lifted Himself up, and said to them, “Whoever is without sin among you, let them first cast a stone at her.”
8 And again He stooped down, and wrote on the ground.
9 And when they heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning with the eldest, unto the last.  And YEHOSHUA was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.
10 When YEHOSHUA had again lifted Himself up, and seeing no one but the woman, He said to her, “Woman, where are those, your accusers? Has no one condemned you?”
11 And she said, “No one, Master.” And YEHOSHUA said, “Neither do I condemn you; go, and sin no more.”
12 Then spoke YEHOSHUA again unto them, saying, “I am the light of the world; those who follow Me will not walk in darkness, but will have the Light of life.”
13 The Pharisees therefore said to Him, “You are bearing witness of Yourself; Your witness is not true.”
14 YEHOSHUA answered and said to them, “Though I bear witness of Myself, My witness is true, for I know where I came from, and where I am going.  But you do not know where I come from, or where I am going.
15 You judge after the flesh; I judge no one.
16 But even if I do judge, My judgment is true, for I am not alone; but I and the Father Who sent Me.
17 It is also written in your law, that the testimony of two people is true.
18 I am One that bears witness of Myself, and the Father Who sent Me bears witness of Me.”
19 Then they said to Him, “Where is Your Father?” YEHOSHUA answered, “You neither know Me, nor My Father.  If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also.”
20 These words He spoke in the treasury, as He taught in the temple; and no one seized Him, because His hour had not yet come.
21 Then said YEHOSHUA again to them, “I go away, and you shall seek Me, and shall die in your sin; where I go, you cannot come.”
22 Therefore the Yehudi were saying, “Will He kill Himself? Because He says, ‘Where I go, you cannot come’?”
23 And He was saying to them, “You are from beneath, I am from above; you are of this world, I am not of this world.
24 I said therefore unto you, that you shall die in your sin; for if you believe not that I am, you will die in your sin.”
25 Then they said unto Him, “Who are You?” And YEHOSHUA said to them, “What have I been saying to you from the beginning?
26 I have many things to say and to condemn of you, but He Who sent Me is true, and I speak to the world those things which I have heard from Him.”
27 They did not understand that He spoke to them about the Father.
28 Then YEHOSHUA said to them, “When you have lifted up the Son of Man, then you will know that I am; and I do nothing of Myself, but as My Father has taught Me, I speak these things.
29 And He Who sent Me is with Me.  The Father has not left Me alone, for I always do those things that please Him.”
30 As He spoke these words, many believed on Him.
31 Then YEHOSHUA said to those Yehudi who believed on Him, “If you abide in My word, you are My disciples indeed;
32 and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
33 They answered Him, “We are Abraham’s seed, and were never in bondage to anyone.  How is it that You say, ‘You will become free’?”
34 YEHOSHUA answered them, “Amen, amen, I say to you, whoever commits sin is in bondage to sin.
35 And the slave does not remain in the house forever.  But the Son remains forever.
36 If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed.
37 I know that you are Abraham’s seed, but you seek to kill Me, because My Word has no place in you.
38 I speak that which I have seen with My Father; and you do that which you have seen with your father.”
39 They answered and said to Him, “Abraham is our father.”  YEHOSHUA said to them, “If you were Abraham’s children, you would do the works of Abraham.
40 But now you seek to kill Me, a man that has told you the truth, which I heard from Elohim.  This Abraham did not do.
41 You do the deeds of your father.”  They said to Him, “We were not born of fornication; we have one Father, even Elohim.”
42 YEHOSHUA said to them, “If Elohim were your Father, you would love Me, for I proceeded forth and came from Elohim.  I came not of Myself, but He sent Me.
43 Why do you not understand what I am saying? It is because you cannot hear My word.
44 You are of your father the devil, and you do the lusts of your father.  He was a murderer from the beginning, and stood not in the truth, because there is no truth in him.  When he speaks a lie, he speaks of his own, for he is a liar, and the father of lies.
45 And because I tell you the truth, you do not believe Me.
46 Which one of you convicts Me of sin? And if I speak the truth, why do you not believe Me?
47 Those who are of Elohim hear Elohim’s words.  You therefore hear not, because you are not of Elohim”
48 The Yehudi answered and said to Him, “Do we not say rightly that You are a Samaritan, and have a devil?”
49 YEHOSHUA answered, “I do not have a devil; but I honor My Father, and you dishonor Me.
50 But I seek not My own glory.  There is One Who seeks and judges.
51 Amen, amen, I say to you, if anyone keeps My word, they will never see death.”
52 Then the Yehudi said to Him, “Now we know that You have a devil.  Abraham died, and the prophets, yet You say, ‘If anyone keeps My word, they will never taste of death.’
53 Are You greater than our father Abraham, who is dead? And the prophets are dead.  Who do You make Yourself out to be?”
54 YEHOSHUA answered, “If I honor Myself, My honor is nothing.  It is My Father Who honors Me, of Whom you say that He is your Elohim.
55 Yet you have not known Him; but I know Him.  And if I say that I do not know Him, I shall be a liar like you, but I know Him, and keep His word.
56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see My day, and he saw it and was glad.”
57 Then the Yehudi said to Him, “You are not yet fifty years old, and have You seen Abraham?”
58 YEHOSHUA said to them, “Amen, amen, I say unto you, before Abraham was, I am.”
59 Then they picked up stones to cast at Him, but YEHOSHUA hid Himself, and going through the midst of them, went out of the temple.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 9

JOHN:  CHAPTER 9

And as He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth.
2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Master, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind?”
3 YEHOSHUA answered, “Neither has this man sinned, nor his parents.  But that the works of Elohim should be made manifest in him.
4 I must work the works of Him Who sent Me, while it is day.  The night is coming, when no one can work.
5 While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world.”
6 When He had said this, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and anointed the eyes of the blind man with the clay,
7 and said to him, “Go, wash in the pool of Siloam” (which is by interpretation, Sent). And so he went away and washed, and came seeing.
8 The neighbors therefore, and those who before had seen him, that he was blind, said, “Is not this the one who sat and begged?”
9 Some said, “This is he,” still others said, “No, but he is like him.”  And he kept saying, “I am the one.”
10 Therefore they said unto him, “How were your eyes opened?”
11 He answered, “The man who is called YEHOSHUA made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, ‘Go to the pool of Siloam and wash.’   And I went and washed, and I received sight.”
12 And they said to him, “Where is He?” He said, “I do not know.”
13 They brought to the Pharisees him who was formerly blind.
14 And it was the Sabbath day when YEHOSHUA made the clay, and opened his eyes.
15 Then again the Pharisees also asked him how he received his sight, and he said to them, “He put clay upon my eyes, and I washed, and I see.”
16 Therefore some of the Pharisees said, “This man is not from Elohim, because He does not keep the Sabbath.” But others said, “How can a man who is a sinner do such miracles?” And there was a division among them.
17 They said to the blind man again, “What do you say of Him, since He opened your eyes?” And he said, “He is a prophet.”
18 But the Yehudi did not believe it of him, that he had been blind and had received sight; until they called the parents of the one who had received his sight.
19 And they asked them, saying, “Is this your son, who you say was born blind? How then does he now see?”
20 His parents answered them and said, “We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind;
21 but how he now sees, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know.  Ask him; he shall speak for himself.”
22 Thus spoke his parents, because they feared the Yehudi, for the Yehudi had already agreed that if anyone should confess Him to be the Messiah, they should be put out of the synagogue.
23 Therefore his parents said, “He is of age; ask him.”
24 Then again they called the man who was blind, and said to him, “Give Elohim the praise.  We know that this Man is a sinner.”
25 He answered and said, “Whether He is a sinner, I know not.  One thing I do know, that, whereas I was blind, now I see.”
26 Then they said to him again, “What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?”
27 He answered them, “I told you already, and you did not listen; why would you hear it again? Will you also be His disciples?”
28 And they reviled him, and said, “You are His disciple, but we are disciples of Moses.
29 We know that Elohim spoke to Moses, but as for this Man, we know not where He is from.”
30 The man answered and said to them, “Well, here is a marvelous thing; that you know not from where He comes, and yet He opened my eyes.
31 Now we know that Elohim hears not sinners, but if anyone is a worshiper of Elohim, and does His will, them He hears.
32 Since the beginning of the world, it has never been heard that anyone opened the eyes of one that was born blind.
33 If this man were not from Elohim, He could do nothing.”
34 They answered and said to him, “You were born entirely in sin, and do you teach us?” And they put him out.
35 YEHOSHUA heard that they had cast him out; and when He had found him, He said, “Do you believe on the Son of Man?”
36 He answered and said, “And Who is He, Master, that I might believe on Him?”
37 YEHOSHUA said to him, “You have both seen Him, and He that talks with you.”
38 And he said, “Master, I believe.”  And he worshiped Him.
39 And YEHOSHUA said, “For judgment I came into this world, that those who do not see may see; and that those who see might be made blind.”
40 And the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things, and said to Him, “Are we blind also?”
41 YEHOSHUA said to them, “If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, ‘We see!’ Therefore your sin remains.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 10

JOHN:  CHAPTER 10

“Amen, amen, I say to you, those that enter not by the door into the sheepfold, but climb up some other way, they are thieves and robbers.
2 But He who enters by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.
3 To Him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear His voice, and He calls His own sheep by name, and leads them out.
4 And when He puts forth His own sheep, He goes before them, and the sheep follow Him because they know His voice.
5 And strangers they will not follow, but will flee from them, because they do not know the voice of strangers.”
6 This parable YEHOSHUA spoke to them, but they did not understand what those things were which He was saying to them.
7 Then YEHOSHUA said to them again, “Amen, amen, I say to you, I am the door of the sheep.
8 All who came before Me are thieves and robbers, but the sheep did not hear them.
9 I am the door.  By Me, if anyone enters in, they will be saved, and will go in and out, and find pasture.
10 The thief comes only to steal, and kill, and destroy.  I have come that they might have life, and that they might have it abundantly.
11 I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down His life for the sheep.
12 But those who are hirelings, and not the shepherd, who are not the owners of the sheep, seeing the wolf coming, leaves the sheep and flees, and the wolf catches them, and scatters the sheep.
13 The hirelings flee, because they are a hireling, and care not for the sheep.
14 I am the good shepherd, and I know My own, and My own know Me;
15 as the Father knows Me, and I know the Father, and I lay down My life for the sheep.
16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold; them also I must bring, and they shall hear My voice; and there shall be one fold and one Shepherd.
17 Therefore My Father loves Me, because I lay down My life, that I might take it again.
18 No one takes it from Me, but I lay it down of Myself.  I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it up again.  This commandment have I received from My Father.”
19 There was a division therefore again among the Jews, because of these words.
20 And many of them said, “He has a devil, and is mad.  Why do you listen to Him?”
21 Others said, “These are not the words of one that has a devil.  Can a devil open the eyes of the blind?”
22 Thus spoke his parents, because they feared the Yehudi, for the Yehudi had already agreed that if anyone should confess Him to be the Messiah, they should be put out of the synagogue.
23 And YEHOSHUA walked in the temple, on Solomon’s porch.
24 Then came the Yehudi round about Him, and said unto Him, “How long will You make us doubt? If you are the Mashiach, tell us plainly.”
25 YEHOSHUA answered them, “I told you, and you do not believe.  The works that I do in My Father’s Name, these bear witness of Me.
26 But you do not believe, because you are not of My sheep, as I said unto you.
27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me;
28 and I give unto them eternal life, and they will never perish; neither will anyone pluck them out of My hand.
29 My Father, Who gave them to Me, is greater than all; and no one is able to pluck them out of My Father’s hand.
30 I and the Father are one.”
31 Then the Yehudi took up stones again to stone Him.
32 YEHOSHUA answered them, “Many good works have I shown you from My Father; for which of these works do you stone Me?”
33 The Yehudi answered Him, saying, “For a good work we do not stone You, but for blasphemy; and because You, being a man, make Yourself Elohim.”
34 YEHOSHUA answered them, “Is it not written in your law, ‘I said, “You are Elohim”’? 6
35 If He called them Elohim, unto whom the word of Elohim came, and the Scripture cannot be broken,
36 do you say of Him, Whom the Father sanctified and sent into the world, ‘You are blaspheming,’ because I said, ‘I am the Son of Elohim’?
37 If I do not the works of My Father, believe Me not.
38 But if I do, though you believe Me not, believe the works; that you may know and believe, that the Father is in Me, and I in Him.”
39 Therefore they sought again to take Him, but He escaped out of their hand.
40 And He went away again beyond the Jordan, to the place where John at first baptized, and He remained there.
41 And many came to Him and said, “While John did no miracle; yet all things that John spoke about this man was true.”
42 And many believed on Him there.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 11

JOHN:  CHAPTER 11

Now a certain man was sick, Lazarus of Bethany; the village of Mary and her sister Martha.
2 It was the Mary who anointed the Master with ointment, and wiped His feet with her hair, whose brother Lazarus was sick.
3 Therefore his sisters sent to Him, saying, “Master, behold, he whom You love is sick.”
4 But when YEHOSHUA heard it, He said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of Elohim, that the Son of Elohim may be glorified by it.”
5 Now YEHOSHUA loved Martha and her sister and Lazarus.
6 When therefore He heard that he was sick, He remained two days still in the place where He was.
7 Then after this He said to the disciples, “Let us go to Yehudah again.”
8 The disciples said to Him, “Master, the Yehudi just now sought to stone You, and are You going there again?”
9 YEHOSHUA answered, “Are there not twelve hours in the day? If anyone walks in the day, they do not stumble, because they see the light of this world.
10 But if anyone walks in the night, they stumble, because the light is not in them.”
11 These things He said, and after that He said to them, “Our friend Lazarus sleeps; but I go, that I may awaken him out of sleep.”
12 The disciples therefore said to Him, “Master, if he sleeps, he will do well.”
13 But YEHOSHUA had spoken of his death, but they thought that He had spoken of taking rest in sleep.
14 Then YEHOSHUA said to them plainly, “Lazarus is dead,
15 and I am glad for your sake that I was not there, so that you may believe; nonetheless let us go to him.”
16 Then Thomas, who is called Didymus, said to his fellow disciples, “Let us also go, that we may die with Him.”
17 Then when YEHOSHUA came, He found that he had already been in the tomb four days.
18 Now Bethany was near Jerusalem, about two miles off;
19 and many of the Yehudi had come to Martha and Mary, to comfort them concerning their brother.
20 Then Martha, as soon as she heard that YEHOSHUA was coming, went and met Him, but Mary sat in the house.
21 Then Martha said to YEHOSHUA, “Master, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.
22 But I know that even now, whatever You ask of Elohim, Elohim will give You.”
23 YEHOSHUA said to her, “Your brother will rise again.”
24 Martha said to Him, “I know that he will rise again in the resurrection on the last day.”
25 YEHOSHUA said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life.  Whoever believes on Me, though they were dead, yet shall live,
26 and whoever lives and believes on Me shall never die.  Do you believe this?”
27 She said to Him, “Yes, Master; I have believed that You are the Mashiach, the Son of Elohim; He Who comes into the world.”
28 And when she had said this, she went away, and called Mary her sister, saying secretly, “The Master is here, and is calling for you.”
29 As soon as she heard it, she arose quickly, and came to Him.
30 Now YEHOSHUA had not yet come into the village, but was at the place where Martha met Him.
31 The Yehudi then, who were with her in the house, and comforting her, when they saw that Mary rose up quickly and went out, followed her, saying, “She goes up to the grave to weep there.”
32 Then when Mary came where YEHOSHUA was, and saw Him, she fell at His feet, saying to Him, “Master, if You had been here, my brother would not have died.”
33 When YEHOSHUA therefore saw her weeping, and the Yehudi who came with her, also weeping, He was deeply moved in spirit, and was troubled,
34 and said, “Where have you laid him?” They said to Him, “Master, come and see.”
35 YEHOSHUA wept.
36 Then said the Yehudi, “Behold how He loved him!”
37 But some of them said, “Could not this man, Who opened the eyes of the blind, have caused that even this man should not have died?”
38 YEHOSHUA therefore again groaning in Himself, came to the grave.  It was a cave, and a stone lay upon it.
39 YEHOSHUA said, “Take away the stone.”  Martha, the sister of him that was dead, said to Him, “Master, by this time he stinks; for it has been four days.”
40 YEHOSHUA said to her, “Did I not say to you, if you would believe, you should see the glory of Elohim?”
41 Then they took away the stone where the dead was laid.  And YEHOSHUA raised His eyes, and said, “Father, I thank You that You heard Me.
42 And I know that You hear Me always, but because of the people standing by I said it, that they may believe that You have sent Me.”
43 And when He had said these things, He cried out with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth!”
44 And he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with grave clothes; and his face was bound about with a napkin.  YEHOSHUA said to them, “Loose him, and let him go.”
45 Then many of the Yehudi, who had come to Mary, and had seen what He had done, believed on Him.
46 But some of them went their way to the Pharisees, and told them what things YEHOSHUA had done.
47 Then the chief priests and the Pharisees gathered together a council, and said, “What do we do? For this man works many miracles.
48 If we let Him alone, all mankind will believe on Him, and the Romans will come and take away both our place and our nation.”
49 And one of them, Caiaphas, being high priest that same year, said unto them, “You know nothing at all,
50 nor do you consider that it is expedient for us, that one man should die for the people, and that the whole nation should not perish.”
51 Now this he did not speak of himself, but being high priest that year, he prophesied that YEHOSHUA should die for the nation;
52 and not for that nation only, but that He also should gather together in one the children of Elohim that were scattered abroad.
53 So from that day forth they took counsel together, planning to put Him to death.
54 YEHOSHUA therefore no longer walked openly among the Yehudi, but then went from there into the country near the wilderness, into a city called Ephraim; and there He remained with His disciples.
55 And the Passover of the Yehudi was at hand, and many went up to Jerusalem out of the country, before the Passover, to purify themselves.
56 Then they sought for YEHOSHUA, and were saying to one another, as they stood in the temple, “What do you think; that He will not come to the feast?”
57 Now both the chief priests and the Pharisees had given a command; that if anyone knew where He was, he should report it, that they might take Him.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 12

JOHN:  CHAPTER 12

Then YEHOSHUA, six days before the Passover, came to Bethany, where Lazarus was, whom He had raised from the dead.
2 They made Him a supper there, and Martha served; and Lazarus was one of them reclining at the table with Him.
3 Then Mary took a pound of pure perfumed oil, and anointed the feet of YEHOSHUA, and wiped His feet with her hair.  And the house was filled with the fragrance of the perfumed oil.
4 Then Judas Iscariot, one of His disciples; who would betray Him, said,
5 “Why was this perfume not sold for three hundred denarii, and given to the poor?”
6 This was said, not that he cared for the poor, but because he was a thief, and had the money-bag, and would take what was put into it.
7 Then YEHOSHUA said, “Let her alone, for unto the day of My burying she has kept this.
8 For the poor you always have with you, but you do not always have Me.”
9 A great multitude of the Yehudi knew that He was there; and they came, not for YEHOSHUA’ sake only, but that they might also see Lazarus, whom He raised from the dead.
10 But the chief priests took counsel, that they might put Lazarus to death also,
11 because by reason of him many of the Yehudi went away, and were believing on YEHOSHUA.
12 On the next day the great multitude who had come to the feast, when they heard that YEHOSHUA was coming to Jerusalem,
13 took branches of palm trees, and went forth to meet Him, and began to cry out, “Hosanna!  Blessed is the King of Israel Who comes in the Name of YEHOWAH.” 7
14 And YEHOSHUA, upon obtaining a young ass, sat upon it; as it is written,
15 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Behold, your King is coming to you; lowly, and riding upon an ass; a colt, the foal of an ass.” 8
16 These things His disciples did not understand at the first, but when YEHOSHUA was glorified, then they remembered that these things were written of Him, and that they had done these things unto Him.
17 The multitude therefore, who were with Him when He called Lazarus out of the grave, and raised him from the dead, bore Him witness.
18 For this cause also the multitude met Him, because they heard that He had done this miracle.
19 The Pharisees therefore said among themselves, “Do you see that we prevail not? Behold, the world is going after Him.”
20 And there were certain Greeks among them, who came up to worship at the feast;
21 these therefore came to Philip, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and requested of him, saying, “Sir, we wish to see YEHOSHUA.”
22 Philip came and told Andrew, and again Andrew and Philip came, and they told YEHOSHUA.
23 And YEHOSHUA answered them, saying, “The hour has come that the Son of Man be glorified.
24 Amen, amen, I say to you, unless a kernel of corn falls into the earth and dies, it remains by itself alone, but if it dies, it brings forth much fruit.
25 Those who love their lives will lose it, and those who hate their life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.
26 If anyone serves Me, let them follow Me, and where I am, there shall also My servant be.  If anyone serves Me, them the Father will honor.
27 Now is My soul troubled; and what shall I say? ‘Father, save Me from this hour’? But for this cause I came to this hour.
28 Father, glorify Thy Name.”  Then there came a voice from heaven, “I have both glorified it, and will glorify it again.”
29 The multitude therefore, who stood by and heard it, were saying that it had thundered; others were saying, “An angel has spoken to Him.”
30 YEHOSHUA answered and said, “This voice has not come for Me, but for your sake.
31 Now is the judgment of this world.  Now will the prince of this world be cast out.
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all to Me.”
33 This He said to signify the death He should die.
34 The multitude answered Him, “We have heard out of the Law that Mashiach remains forever.  Then how do You say, ‘The Son of Man must be lifted up’? Who is this Son of Man?”
35 Then YEHOSHUA said to them, “Yet for a while the Light is with you.  Walk while you have the Light, lest darkness come upon you.  For those who walk in darkness do not know where they are going.
36 While you have the Light, believe on the Light, in order that you may be the children of Light.”  These things YEHOSHUA spoke; and He departed and hid Himself from them.
37 But though He had done so many miracles before them, yet they believed not on Him;
38 that the word of Isaiyeh the prophet might be fulfilled, which he spoke, “Who has believed our report? And to whom is the arm of YEHOWAH revealed?” 9
39 Therefore they could not believe, for Isaiyeh said again,
40 “Make the heart of this people fat, and make their ears dull, and shut their eyes; lest they see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and understand with their heart, and turn back, and be healed.” 10
41 These things Isaiyeh said, because he saw His glory, and he spoke of Him.
42 Nevertheless among the chief rulers also many believed on Him, but because of the Pharisees they did not confess Him, lest they should be put out of the synagogue;
43 for they loved the praise of men more than the praise of Elohim.
44 YEHOSHUA cried out and said, “Those who believe on Me, believe not on Me, but on Him Who sent Me.
45 And those who see Me, see Him Who sent Me.
46 I have come as Light into the world, that whosoever believes on Me should not abide in darkness.
47 And if anyone hears My words, and believes not, I judge them not; for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world.
48 Those who reject Me, and do not receive My words, has One who judges them.  The word that I have spoken, the same will judge them in the last day.
49 For I have not spoken of Myself, but the Father Who sent Me; He gave Me a commandment, what I should say, and what I should speak.
50 And I know that His commandment is life everlasting.  Whatsoever I speak, therefore, even as the Father said unto Me, so I speak.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 13

JOHN:  CHAPTER 13

Now before the Feast of the Passover, when YEHOSHUA knew that His hour had come; that He should depart out of this world to the Father, having loved His own who were in the world; He loved them to the end.
2 And supper having ended, the devil had already put into the heart of Judas Iscariot, the son of Simon, to betray Him,
3 YEHOSHUA, knowing that the Father had given all things into His hands, and that He had come forth from Elohim, and was going back to Elohim,
4 rose up from supper, and laid aside His garments; and taking a towel, He girded Himself.
5 After that He poured water into the basin, and began to wash the disciples’ feet, and to wipe them with the towel with which He was girded.
6 Then He came to Simon Peter, and Peter said to Him, “Master, do You wash my feet?”
7 YEHOSHUA answered and said to him, “What I do you do not understand now, but you shall understand hereafter.”
8 Peter said to Him, “You shall never wash my feet!”  YEHOSHUA answered him, “If I do not wash you, you have no part with Me.”
9 Simon Peter said to Him, “Master, not my feet only, but also my hands and my head!”
10 YEHOSHUA said to him, “Those who are washed need only to wash their feet, and are completely clean; and you are clean, but not all of you.”
11 For He knew the one who was betraying Him; for this reason He said, “Not all of you are clean.”
12 After He had washed their feet, and taken His garments, and reclined at the table again, He said to them, “Do you know what I have done to you?
13 You call Me Teacher and Master, and you are right, for so I am.
14 If I then, the Master and the Teacher, washed your feet, you also ought to wash one another’s feet.
15 For I gave you an example that you also should do as I have done to you.
16 Amen, amen, I say to you, the slave is not greater than their lord; neither is one who is sent greater than the one who sent them.
17 If you know these things, blessed are you if you do them.
18 I speak not of all of you.  I know whom I have chosen; but it is that the Scripture may be fulfilled, ‘My own friend, in whom I trusted, who ate My bread, has lifted up their heel against Me.” 11
19 Now I am telling you before it happens, so that when it does happen, you may believe that I am.
20 Amen, amen, I say to you, those who receive whomever I send, receive Me; and those who receive Me, receives Him Who sent Me.”
21 When YEHOSHUA had said this, He became troubled in spirit, and testified, and said, “Amen, amen, I say to you, that one of you will betray Me.”
22 The disciples looked at one another, at a loss to know of whom He was speaking.
23 Now there was leaning on YEHOSHUA’S breast one of His disciples, whom YEHOSHUA loved.
24 Simon Peter therefore signaled to him, that he should ask who it would be of whom He spoke.
25 He then, lying back thus on YEHOSHUA’S breast, said to Him, “Master, who is it?”
26 YEHOSHUA answered, “He it is, to whom I shall give a morsel, when I have dipped.”  And when He had dipped the morsel, He took and gave it to Judas, the son of Simon Iscariot.
27 And after the morsel, Satan entered into him.  Then YEHOSHUA said to him, “What you do, do quickly.”
28 Now no one of those reclining at the table knew for what purpose He had said this to him.
29 For some thought that because Judas had the money-bag, that YEHOSHUA was saying to him, “Buy the things we have need of for the feast,” or that he should give something to the poor.
30 He then having received the morsel went out immediately; and it was night.
31 Therefore when he had gone out, YEHOSHUA said, “Now is the Son of Man glorified, and Elohim is glorified in Him;
32 if Elohim is glorified in Him, Elohim will also glorify Him in Himself, and will immediately glorify Him.
33 Little children, I am with you a little while longer.  You shall seek Me, and as I said to the Yehudi, I now say to you also, ‘Where I am going, you cannot come.’
34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another as I have loved you; that you also love one another.
35 By this all mankind will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.”
36 Simon Peter said to Him, “Master, where are You going?” YEHOSHUA answered, “Where I go, you cannot follow Me now, but you will follow later.”
37 Peter said to Him, “Master, why can I not follow You now? I will lay down my life for Your sake.”
38 YEHOSHUA answered, “Will you lay down your life for My sake? Amen, amen, I say to you, a cock shall not crow, until you have denied Me three times.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 14

JOHN:  CHAPTER 14

Let not your heart be troubled; believe in Elohim, believe also in Me.
2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if not, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.
3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto Myself; that where I am, there you will be also.
4 And where I go you know, and The Way you know.”
5 Thomas said to Him, “Master, we do not know where You are going; how do we know the way?”
6 YEHOSHUA said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life; no one comes to the Father, but through Me.
7 If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from here on you know Him, and have seen Him.”
8 Philip said to Him, “Master, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”
9 YEHOSHUA said to him, “Have I been so long with you, and yet have you not known Me, Philip? Those who have seen Me have seen the Father; how do you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
10 Do you not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father is in Me? The words that I speak unto you I speak not of Myself, but the Father dwelling in Me; He does the works.
11 Believe Me that I am in the Father, and the Father in Me; or else believe Me for the very works’ sake.
12 Amen, amen, I say to you, those who believe on Me, the works that I do shall they do also; and greater works than these shall they do, because I go to My Father.
13 And whatsoever you ask in My Name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 If you ask Me anything in My Name, I will do it.
15 If you love Me, keep My commandments,
16 and I will ask the Father, and He will give you another Intercessor, Who will abide with you forever;
17 The Spirit of truth, Whom the world cannot receive, because it sees Him not, neither knows Him.  But you know Him, for He dwells with you, and will be in you.
18 I will not leave you orphaned; I will come to you.
19 After a little while the world will see Me no more, but you see Me.  Because I live, you will live also.
20 On that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.
21 Those who have My commandments and keep them; those are they who love Me; and those who love Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love them, and will disclose Myself to them.”
22 Judas said to Him, not Iscariot, “Master, why is it that You will manifest Yourself to us, and not unto the world?”
23 YEHOSHUA answered and said to him, “If anyone loves Me they will keep My words, and My Father will love them, and We will come unto them, and make Our abode with them.
24 Those who do not love Me do not keep My words, and the word which you hear is not Mine, but the Fathers’ Who sent Me.
25 These things I have spoken to you while being present with you.
26 But the Intercessor, The Holy Spirit, Whom the Father will send in My Name, He will teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you; My peace I give unto you; not as the world gives, do I give to you.  Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be afraid.
28 You heard how I said unto you, ‘I go away, and will come to you’? If you loved Me, you would rejoice, because I said, ‘I go to the Father’, for My Father is greater than I.
29 And now I have told you before it comes to pass, that when it comes to pass, you may believe.
30 Hereafter I will not talk much more with you, for the prince of this world is coming, and he has nothing in Me;
31 but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave Me commandment, even so I do.  Rise, let us go from here.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 15

JOHN:  CHAPTER 15

“I am the true vine, and My Father is the Farmer.
2 Every branch in Me that does not bear fruit, He takes up; and every branch that bears fruit, He prunes it, that it may bear more fruit.
3 Now you are clean through the Word which I have spoken to you.
4 Abide in Me, and I in you.  As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, no more can you, unless you abide in Me.
5 I am the vine, you are the branches; those who abide in Me, and I in them, they bear much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.
6 If anyone does not abide in Me, they are cast away as a branch, and is withered, and they gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
7 If you abide in Me, and My Words abide in you, ask whatever you will, and it will be done for you.
8 In this is My Father glorified, that you bear much fruit, and so shall you be My disciples.
9 As the Father has loved Me, so have I loved you.  Endure in My love.
10 If you keep My commandments, you will abide in My love; just as I have kept My Father’s commandments, and abide in His love.
11 These things I have spoken to you, that My joy may remain in you, and that your joy might be made full.
12 This is My commandment:  That you love one another, just as I have loved you.
13 Greater love has no one than this, that one lay down their life for their friends.
14 You are My friends, if you do whatsoever I command you.
15 From here onward I call you not slaves, for the slave does not know what his lord is doing; but I shall call you friends, for all things that I have heard from My Father, I have made known to you.
16 You have not chosen Me, but I have chosen you, and have set you, that you should go and bear fruit, and that your fruit should remain; that whatever you ask of the Father in My Name, He may give it to you.
17 These things I command you, that you love one another.
18 If the world hates you, know that it hated Me before you.
19 If you were of the world, the world would love its own, but because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of the world, therefore the world hates you.
20 Remember the word that I said to you, ‘A slave is not greater than their lord.’  If they have persecuted Me, they will also persecute you; if they have kept My word, they will keep yours also.
21 But all these things they will do to you for My Name’s sake, because they do not know Him Who sent Me.
22 If I had not come and spoken to them, they would not have known sin, but now they have no pretense for their sin.
23 Those who hate Me, hate My Father also.
24 If I had not done among them the works which no one else did, they would not have sin; but now they have both seen and hated both Me and My Father.
25 But that the word might be fulfilled, this is written in their law, ‘They hated Me without cause.’ 12
26 When the Intercessor comes, Whom I will send to you from the Father; that is The Spirit of truth, Who proceeds from the Father; He will bear witness of Me,
27 and you also will bear witness, because you have been with Me from the beginning.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 16

JOHN:  CHAPTER 16

“These things I have spoken to you, so that you would not stumble.
2 They will put you out of the synagogue.  Yes, and the time is coming that whoever kills you will think that they do service unto Elohim.
3 And these things they will do to you, because they have not known the Father or Me.
4 But these things I have told you, that when the time comes, you may remember that I told you of them.  And these things I did not say to you at the beginning, because I was with you.
5 But now I go My way unto Him Who sent Me; and none of you asks Me, ‘Where are You going?’
6 But because I have said these things to you, sorrow has filled your heart.
7 Nevertheless, I tell you the truth; it is expedient that I go away, for if I do not go away, the Intercessor will not come to you; but if I depart, I will send Him to you.
8 And when He comes, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment.
9 Of sin, because they believe not on Me;
10 of righteousness, because I go to the Father, and you see Me no more;
11 and of judgment, because the prince of this world is already judged.
12 I have many more things to say to you, but you cannot bear them now.
13 But when He, The Spirit of truth, comes, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak of Himself, but whatsoever He hears, He will speak; and He will show you what is to come.
14 He shall glorify Me, for He shall take of Mine, and will show it to you.
15 All things that the Father has are Mine; therefore I said that He takes of Mine, and will show it to you.
16 A little while, and you will not see Me.  And again, in a little while, you will see Me.”
17 Then said some of His disciples to one another, “What is this that He is telling us, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me; and again in a little while, and you will see Me’; and, ‘because I go to the Father’?”
18 And so they were saying, “What is this that He says, ‘A little while’? We do not know what He is talking about.”
19 YEHOSHUA knew that they wanted to question Him, and He said to them, “Do you inquire among yourselves because I said, ‘A little while, and you will not see Me, and again in a little while, and you will see Me’?
20 Amen, amen, I say to you, that you will weep and lament, but the world will rejoice; you will be sorrowful, but your sorrow will be turned to joy.
21 Whenever a woman is in labor she has sorrow, because her hour has come; but as soon as she has delivered the child, she remembers the anguish no more, for joy that a child has been born into the world.
22 And you now therefore have sorrow; but I will see you again, and your heart will rejoice, and no one will take your joy from you.
23 And in that day you will ask Me nothing.  Amen, amen, I say to you, whatsoever you shall ask the Father in My Name, He will give it to you.
24 Up to now you have asked for nothing in My Name; ask, and you will receive, that your joy may be made full.
25 These things I have spoken to you in proverbs, but the time is coming when I will no more speak to you in proverbs, but I will show you plainly of the Father.
26 In that day you will ask in My Name, and I do not say to you that I will make request of the Father for you;
27 for the Father Himself loves you, because you have loved Me, and have believed that I came forth from Elohim.
28 I came forth from the Father, and have come into the world; I am leaving the world again, and going to the Father.”
29 His disciples said, “Lo, now You are speaking plainly, and are not using proverbs.
30 Now we are certain that You know all things, and need not that anyone should ask You.  By this we believe that You came from Elohim.”
31 YEHOSHUA answered them, “Do you now believe?
32 Behold, the hour is coming, and has already come, for you to be scattered, each to his own home, and to leave Me alone; and yet I am not alone, because the Father is with Me.
33 These things I have spoken to you, that in Me you might have peace.  In the world you will have tribulation, but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 17

JOHN:  CHAPTER 17

These things YEHOSHUA spoke; and lifting up His eyes to heaven, He said, “Father, the hour has come; glorify Your Son, that Your Son may glorify You;
2 even as You have given Him authority over all flesh, that He should give eternal life to all that You have given Him.
3 And this is life eternal, that they may know You, the only true El, and YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach Whom You have sent.
4 I have glorified You on the earth.  I have finished the work that You gave Me to do.
5 And now, Father, You glorify Me together with Your Own Self; with the glory which I had with You before the world was.
6 I have manifested Your Name to the men whom You gave unto Me out of the world.  Yours they were, and You gave them to Me, and they have kept Your Word.
7 Now they have come to know that everything You have given Me is from You;
8 for I have given to them the Words that You gave Me, and they have received them, and have truly known that I came forth from You; and they have believed that You did send Me.
9 I pray for them.  I pray not for the world, but for those whom You have given Me; for they are Yours.
10 And all that are Mine are Yours, and Yours are Mine; and I am glorified in them.
11 And now I am no more in the world; but these are in the world, and I come to You.  Holy Father, keep through Your Own Name those whom You have given Me, that they may be one, as We are.
12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in Your Name.  Those that You gave Me I have kept, and none of them is lost but the son of perdition, that the Scripture might be fulfilled.
13 But now I come to You, and these things I speak in the world, that they might have My joy fulfilled in themselves.
14 I have given them Your Word; and the world has hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
15 I pray not that You take them out of the world, but to keep them from the evil.
16 They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world.
17 Sanctify them in Your truth; Your Word is truth.
18 As You have sent Me into the world, even so I also have sent them into the world.
19 And for their sake I sanctify Myself, that they themselves also might be sanctified through the truth.
20 Neither do I pray for these alone, but for those also who shall believe on Me through their word;
21 that they all may be one; as You, Father, are in Me, and I in You, that they also may be one in Us.  That the world may believe that You have sent Me.
22 And the glory which You have given Me I have given to them; that they may be one, just as We are one;
23 I in them, and You in Me, that they may be made perfect in one; and that the world may know that You have sent Me, and Have loved them, as You have loved Me.
24 Father, I will that they also, whom You have given Me, be with Me where I am, that they may behold My glory, which You have given Me; for You loved Me before the foundation of the world.
25 O righteous Father, the world has not known You, but I have known You, and these have known that You have sent Me;
26 and I have made known to them Your Name, and will make it known; that the love wherewith You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them.”

JOHN:  CHAPTER 18

JOHN:  CHAPTER 18

When YEHOSHUA had spoken these words, He went forth with His disciples over the brook Cedron, where there was a garden, into which He entered, and His disciples.
2 Now Judas also, who was betraying Him, knew the place, for YEHOSHUA often went there together with His disciples.
3 Judas then, having received a cohort and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
4 YEHOSHUA therefore, knowing all things that were coming upon Him, went forth, and said to them, “Whom do you seek?”
5 They answered Him, “YEHOSHUA of Nazareth.”  YEHOSHUA said to them, “I am.” And Judas also, who betrayed Him, stood with them.
6 As soon as He said to them, “I am” they went backward, and fell to the ground.
7 Again He asked them, “Whom do you seek?” And they said, “YEHOSHUA of Nazareth.”
8 YEHOSHUA answered, “I have told you that I am.  If therefore you seek Me, let these go their way,”
9 that the word might be fulfilled which He spoke, “Of those whom You have given Me I lost not one.”
10 Then Simon Peter having a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s slave, and cut off his right ear.  The slave’s name was Malchus.
11 Then YEHOSHUA said to Peter, “Put up your sword into the sheath; the cup which My Father has given Me, shall I not drink it?”
12 Then the cohort and the captain and the officers of the Yehudi, took YEHOSHUA and bound Him,
13 and led Him away to Annas first, for he was father-in-law to Caiaphas, who was the high priest that year.
14 Now Caiaphas was the one who gave counsel to the Yehudi, that it was expedient that one man should die for the people.
15 And Simon Peter followed YEHOSHUA, and so did another disciple.  Now that disciple was known to the high priest, and went in with YEHOSHUA into the court of the high priest,
16 but Peter stood at the outer door.  Then the other disciple, who was known to the high priest, went out and spoke to the doorkeeper, and brought in Peter.
17 Then the handmaid that kept the door said to Peter, “Are you not also one of this man’s disciples?” And he said, “I am not!”
18 Now the slaves and the officers standing there, made a fire of coals; for it was cold, and they warmed themselves.  And Peter stood with them, and warmed himself.
19 The high priest then asked YEHOSHUA about His disciples, and about His teaching.
20 YEHOSHUA answered him, “I spoke openly to the world; I always taught in synagogues, and in the temple, where all the Yehudi always come; and I have said nothing in secret.
21 Why do you question Me? Ask those who have heard what I have said to them.  Behold, they know what I said.”
22 And when He had said this, one of the officers standing by struck YEHOSHUA with the palm of his hand, saying “Is that the way You answer the high priest?”
23 YEHOSHUA answered him, “If I have spoken evil, bear witness of the evil, but if honestly, why do you strike Me?”
24 Then Annas had Him sent bound unto Caiaphas the high priest.
25 As Simon Peter stood and warmed himself, they said to him, “Are you not also one of His disciples?” He denied it, and said, “I am not!”
26 One of the slaves of the high priest, being kinsman to the one whose ear Peter cut off, said, “Did I not see you in the garden with Him?”
27 Peter then denied it again; and immediately a cock crowed.
28 Then they led YEHOSHUA from Caiaphas into the praetorium, and it was early; and they themselves did not enter into the praetorium, lest they should be defiled; but that night might eat the Passover.
29 Pilate then went out to them, and said, “What accusation do you bring against this Man?”
30 They answered and said to him, “If this Man were not an evildoer, we would not have delivered Him up to you.”
31 Then Pilate said to them, “Take Him yourselves and judge Him according to your law.”  The Yehudi said to him, “It is not lawful for us to put anyone to death;”
32 that the Word of YEHOSHUA might be fulfilled, which He spoke, signifying by what kind of death He was about to die.
33 Then Pilate entered again into the praetorium, and calling for YEHOSHUA, said to Him, “Are You the King of the Yehudi?”
34 YEHOSHUA answered, “Do you say this of yourself, or did others tell you about Me?”
35 Pilate answered, “Am I a Yehudi? Your own nation and the chief priests have delivered You up to me.  What have You done?”
36 YEHOSHUA answered, “My kingdom is not of this world.  If My kingdom were of this world, then My servants would fight, that I would not be delivered up to the Yehudi, but now is My kingdom not from here.”
37 Pilate therefore said to Him, “You are a King then?” YEHOSHUA answered, “You say that I am a king.  To this end I was born, and for this cause I have come into the world; that I should bear witness to the truth.  Everyone who is of the truth hears My voice.”
38 Pilate said to Him, “What is truth?” And when he had said this, he went out again to the Yehudi, and said to them, “I find in Him no fault.
39 But you have a custom, that I should release unto you one at the Passover.  Do you will therefore, that I release unto you the King of the Yehudi?”
40 Then cried they all out again, saying, “Not this Man, but Barabbas!”  Now Barabbas was a robber.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 19

JOHN:  CHAPTER 19

Then Pilate therefore took YEHOSHUA and scourged Him.
2 And the soldiers wove a crown of thorns, and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe;
3 and they said, “Hail, King of the Yehudi!” And they struck Him with their hands.
4 And Pilate came out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.”
5 YEHOSHUA therefore came out, wearing the crown of thorns, and the purple robe.  And Pilate said to them, “Behold, the Man!”
6 When the chief priests and the officers saw Him, they cried out, saying, “Crucify! Crucify!”  Pilate said to them, “Take Him yourselves, and crucify Him, for I find no guilt in Him.”
7 The Yehudi answered him, “We have a law, and by that law He ought to die, because He made Himself out to be the Son of Elohim.”
8 When Pilate therefore heard this statement, he was the more afraid;
9 and he entered into the praetorium again, and said to YEHOSHUA, “Where are You from?” But YEHOSHUA gave him no answer.
10 Then Pilate said to Him, “You do not speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to crucify You, and I have authority to release You?”
11 YEHOSHUA answered, “You would have no authority over Me, unless it had been given you from above; for this reason those who delivered Me up to you have the greater sin.”
12 And from thereon, Pilate made effort to release Him, but the Yehudi cried out, saying, “If you let this Man go, you are no friend of Caesar.  Whoever makes themselves a king speaks against Caesar.”
13 When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought YEHOSHUA forth, and sat down on the judgment seat at a place called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha.
14 And it was the day of preparation for the Passover; and about the sixth hour.  And he said to the Yehudi, “Behold, your King!”
15 But they cried out, “Away with!  Away with!  Crucify Him!”  Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!”
16 Then he delivered Him to them to be crucified.
17 And He, bearing His cross, went forth unto a place called, “The Place of a Skull”, which is called in Hebrew, Golgotha.
18 And there they crucified Him; with Him two other men, one on either side, and YEHOSHUA in their midst.
19 And Pilate wrote a title, and put it on the cross.  And it was written, “YEHOSHUA OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE YEHUDI.”
20 This title then was read by many of the Yehudi, for the place where YEHOSHUA was crucified was near the city; and it was written in Hebrew, Greek and Latin.
21 Then the chief priests of the Yehudi said to Pilate, “Write not, ‘The King of the Yehudi’; but that He said, ‘I am King of the Yehudi.’”
22 Pilate answered, “What I have written I have written.”
23 Then the soldiers, when they had crucified YEHOSHUA, took His outer garments and made four parts; a part to every soldier, and also the coat; now the coat was seamless, woven in one piece.
24 They said therefore among themselves, “Let us not tear it, but cast lots for it, to decide whose it shall be”; that the Scripture might be fulfilled, “They divide My garments among them, and cast lots for My clothing.” 13
25 There stood by the cross of YEHOSHUA His mother, and His mother’s sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene.
26 When YEHOSHUA therefore saw His mother, and the disciple standing by, whom He loved, He said unto His mother, “Woman, behold, your son!”
27 Then He said to the disciple, “Behold, your mother!” And from that hour that disciple took her into his own household.
28 After this, YEHOSHUA, knowing that all things were accomplished, that the Scripture might be fulfilled, said, “I thirst!” 14
29 Now there was a vessel full of vinegar; and they filled a sponge with the vinegar, and put it upon a branch of hyssop, and put it to His mouth.
30 When YEHOSHUA therefore had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And He bowed His head, and gave up His Spirit.
31 The Yehudi therefore, because it was the day of preparation, so that the bodies should not remain upon the cross on the Sabbath (for that Sabbath was a high day), asked Pilate that their legs might be broken, and that they might be taken away.
32 The soldiers therefore came, and broke the legs of the first man, and of the other man who was crucified with Him,
33 but coming to YEHOSHUA, when they saw that He was already dead, they broke not His legs;
34 but one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately there came forth blood and water.
35 And he that saw has borne witness, and his witness is true; and he knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe.
36 For these things were done, that the Scripture should be fulfilled, “Nor shall you break any bone.” 15
37 And again another Scripture says, “They look, they stare at me, and they pierced my hands and my feet.” 16
38 And after this Joseph of Arimathea, being a disciple of YEHOSHUA, but secretly, for fear of the Yehudi, asked Pilate that he might take away the body of YEHOSHUA; and Pilate gave permission.  He came therefore, and took away the body of YEHOSHUA.
39 And there came also Nicodemus, who at first come to Him by night; bringing a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about a hundred pounds.
40 Then they took the body of YEHOSHUA, and bound it in linen wrappings with the spices, as is the manner of burial for the Yehudi.
41 Now in the place where He was crucified there was a garden, and in the garden a new tomb, in which no one had yet been laid.
42 And there laid they YEHOSHUA, because of the Yehudi’ preparation day, for the tomb was near at hand.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 20

JOHN:  CHAPTER 20

Now on the first day of the week came Mary Magdalene to the tomb; early, when it was still dark, and saw the stone already taken away from the tomb.
2 Then she ran and came to Simon Peter, and to the other disciple whom YEHOSHUA loved, and said to them, “They have taken away the Master out of the tomb, and we know not where they have laid Him.”
3 Peter therefore went forth, and that other disciple, and they went forth to the tomb.
4 And the two ran together; and the other disciple ran ahead faster than Peter, and came first to the tomb;
5 and stooping down and looking in, he saw the linen wrappings lying, but he did not go in.
6 Then came Simon Peter following him, and went into the tomb; and he saw the linen wrappings lying there,
7 and the napkin, which was about His head, not lying with the linen wrappings, but folded together in a place by itself.
8 So the other disciple who had first come to the tomb entered then also, and he saw and believed.
9 For as yet they knew not the Scripture, that He must rise again from the dead.
10 So the disciples went away again to their own homes.
11 But Mary stood outside the tomb weeping; and so, as she wept, she stooped and looked into the tomb;
12 and she saw two angels in white sitting, one at the head, and one at the feet, where the body of YEHOSHUA had lain.
13 And they said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping?” She said to them, “Because they have taken away my Master, and I do not know where they have laid Him.”
14 When she had said this, she turned around and saw YEHOSHUA standing, and knew not that it was YEHOSHUA.
15 YEHOSHUA said to her, “Woman, why are you weeping? Whom are you seeking?” Supposing Him to be the gardener, she said to Him, “Sir, if you have carried Him away, tell me where you have laid Him, and I will take Him away.”
16 YEHOSHUA said to her, “Mary!” She turned and said to Him in Hebrew, “Rabboni!” (which is to say, Teacher).
17 YEHOSHUA said to her, “Touch Me not, for I have not yet ascended to My Father; but go to My brethren, and say to them, ‘I ascend unto My Father and your Father, and My Elohim and your Elohim.’”
18 Mary Magdalene came, and told the disciples that she had seen the Master, and that He had spoken these things to her.
19 Then the same day, at evening, being the first day of the week, when the doors were shut where the disciples were assembled for fear of the Yehudi, came YEHOSHUA and stood in their midst, and said to them, “Peace be with you!”
20 And when He had said this, He showed unto them His hands and His side.  The disciples therefore rejoiced when they saw the Master.
21 Then YEHOSHUA said to them again, “Peace be unto you!  As My Father has sent Me, I also send you.”
22 And when He had said this, He breathed on them, and said to them, “Receive The Holy Spirit.
23 Whoever’s sins you forgive, they are forgiven them; and whoever’s sins you retain, they have been retained.”
24 But Thomas, one of the twelve, called Didymus, was not with them when YEHOSHUA came.
25 The other disciples therefore said to him, “We have seen the Master!”  But he said to them, “Unless I shall see in His hands the print of the nails, and put my finger into the print of the nails, and put my hand into His side, I will not believe.”
26 And after eight days again His disciples were inside, and Thomas with them.  And YEHOSHUA came, the doors being shut, and stood in their midst, and said, “Peace unto you!”
27 Then He said to Thomas, “Reach here your finger, and see My hands; and reach here your hand, and thrust it into My side, and be not faithless, but believing.”
28 Thomas answered and said unto Him, “My Master and my Elohim!”
29 YEHOSHUA said to him, “Thomas, because you have seen Me, you have believed.  Blessed are they who did not see, and yet believe.”
30 And many other signs truly did YEHOSHUA in the presence of His disciples, which are not written in this book;
31 but these are written that you might believe that YEHOSHUA is the Messiah; the Son of Elohim, and that believing you might have life through His Name.

JOHN:  CHAPTER 21

JOHN:  CHAPTER 21

After these things YEHOSHUA manifested Himself again to the disciples at the Sea of Tiberias, and He manifested Himself in this way:
2 There were together Simon Peter, and Thomas called Didymus, and Nathanael of Cana in Galilee, and the sons of Zebedee, and two others of His disciples.
3 Simon Peter said to them, “I am going fishing.”  They said to him, “We will also come with you.”  They went forth, and got into the ship; and that night they caught nothing.
4 But when the morning was now breaking, YEHOSHUA stood on the beach, but the disciples did not know that it was YEHOSHUA.
5 YEHOSHUA therefore said to them, “Children, have you any fish?” They answered Him, “No.”
6 And He said to them, “Cast the net on the right-hand side of the ship, and you will find.”  They cast therefore, and then they were not able to draw it in, because of the great multitude of fish.
7 Therefore that disciple whom YEHOSHUA loved said to Peter, “It is the Master!” And when Simon Peter heard that it was the Master, he put on his outer garment (for he was stripped for work), and cast himself into the sea.
8 And the other disciples came in the little ship, for they were not far from the land, but about two hundred cubits, dragging the net full of fish.
9 As soon as they came to the land, they saw a fire of coals there, and fish laid upon it, and bread.
10 YEHOSHUA said to them, “Bring some of the fish which you have now caught.”
11 Simon Peter went up, and drew the net to land, full of large fish; a hundred and fifty-three; and although there were so many, yet the net was not torn.
12 YEHOSHUA said to them, “Come and dine.”  None of the disciples dared ask Him, “Who are You?” Knowing that it was the Master.
13 YEHOSHUA then came and took the bread, and gave them, and the fish likewise.
14 This is now the third time that YEHOSHUA showed Himself to His disciples, after He was raised from the dead.
15 So when they had dined, YEHOSHUA said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of Jonas, do you love Me more than these?” He said to Him, “Yes, Master; You know that I love You.” He said to him, “Feed My lambs.”
16 He said to him again a second time, “Simon, son of Jonas, do you love Me?” He said to Him, “Yes, Master; You know that I love You.”  He said to him, “Feed My sheep.”
17 He said to him the third time, “Simon, son of Jonas, do you love Me?” Peter was grieved because He said to him the third time, “Do you love Me?” And he said to Him, “Master, You know all things; You know that I love You.”  YEHOSHUA said to him, “Feed My sheep.
18 Amen, amen, I say unto you, when you were young, you girded yourself, and walked wherever you wished; but when you shall be old, you will stretch forth your hands, and another will gird you, and carry you where you do not wish to go.”
19 This He spoke, signifying by what kind of death he would glorify Elohim.  And when He had spoken this, He said to him, “Follow Me!”
20 Then Peter, turning around, saw the disciple whom YEHOSHUA loved following; the one who also leaned on His breast at the supper, and said, “Master, who is the one who betrays You?”
21 Peter therefore seeing him said to YEHOSHUA, “Master, and what about this man?”
22 YEHOSHUA said to him, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you? You follow Me!”
23 Then went this saying out among the brethren, that that disciple would not die. Yet YEHOSHUA did not say to him that he would not die, but only, “If I want him to remain until I come, what is that to you?”
24 This is the disciple who testifies of these things, and wrote these things; and we know that his testimony is true.
25 And there are also many other things which YEHOSHUA did, which if each one should be written in detail, I suppose that even the world itself could not contain the books that should be written.  Amen!
