HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 1

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 1

Elohim, having spoken in times past, at many times and in many ways, to the fathers and the prophets,
2 in these last days has spoken to us by His Son, Whom He has appointed heir of all things, by Whom also He made the world;
3 Who being the brightness of His glory, and the exact representation of His person, and upholds all things by the Word of His power, when He had in Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,
4 being made so much better than the angels, as He has inherited a more excellent Name than they.
5 For to which of the angels did He ever say, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You”? And again, “I will be His Father and He will be My Son”? 1
6 And when He again brings the firstborn into the world, He says, “Worship Him, all you elohim.” 2
7 And of the angels He says, “You make the winds Your messengers; Your ministers a flaming fire.” 3
8 But of the Son He says, “Your throne, O Elohim, is forever and ever; the scepter of Your kingdom is a righteous scepter.
9 You love righteousness and hate wickedness; therefore Elohim, Your Elohim, has anointed You with the oil of gladness above Your fellows.” 4
10 And, “Of old You laid the foundation of the earth, and the heavens are the work of Your hands.
11 They will perish, but You endure, and all of them will wear out like a garment,
12 but like a garment You will change them, and they will be changed.  But You are the same, and Your years have no end.” 5
13 But to which of the angels has He ever said, “Sit at My right hand until I make Your enemies a footstool for Your feet”? 6
14 Are they not all ministering Spirits, sent forth to render service for the sake of those who will inherit salvation?

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 2

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 2

Therefore we must pay much closer attention to what we have heard, lest in any way we should slip away.
2 For if the word spoken through angels was firm, and every transgression and disobedience received a just recompense or reward,
3 how will we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Master, and was confirmed unto us by those who heard,
4 Elohim also bearing witness with them, both by signs and wonders, and by various miracles, and by gifts of the The Holy Spirit, according to His own will?
5 For unto the angels He did not subject the world to come, of which we are speaking.
6 But one has testified somewhere, saying, “What is man that You are mindful of them, and the children of man that you care for them?
7 “You have made them a little lower than Elohim, and You crown them with glory and majesty.  You make them to reign over the works of Your hands;
8 You have put all things under their feet.” 7   For in subjecting all things to them, He left nothing that is not subject to them.  But now we do not yet see all things subjected to them.
9 But we do see YEHOSHUA, Who was made for a little while lower than the angels, for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honor, so that by the grace of Elohim He would taste death for everyone.
10 For it was fitting for Him, for Whom are all things, and through Whom are all things, in bringing many children to glory, to make perfect the Leader of their salvation through sufferings.
11 For both He Who sanctifies and those who are sanctified are all from One; for which reason He is not ashamed to call them brethren,
12 saying, “I will declare Your name to My brethren; in the midst of the assembly I will praise You.” 8
13 And again, “I will wait upon YEHOWAH.” And again, “Behold, I and the children whom YEHOWAH has given Me.” 9
14 Forasmuch as the children share in flesh and blood, He also Himself likewise partook of the same, that through death He could destroy him who had the power of death; that is, the devil;
15 and deliver those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to slavery.
16 For truly, He did not take on the nature of angels, but He took on the seed of Abraham.
17 Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things relating to Elohim, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.
18 For in that He Himself has suffered temptation, He is able to come to the aid of those who are tempted.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 3

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 3

Therefore, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, consider Messiah YEHOSHUA, the Apostle and High Priest of our profession,
2 Who was faithful to Him Who appointed Him, as also Moses was in all of Elohim’s house.
3 For He has been counted worthy of greater glory than Moses, by just as much as the builder of the house has more honor than the house.
4 For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is Elohim.
5 And Moses truly was faithful in all of Elohim’s house as a servant, for a testimony of those things which were to be spoken later,
6 but Messiah, as a Son over His house; Whose house we are, if we hold fast the confidence and the rejoicing of our hope firm unto the end.
7 Therefore, as the The Holy Spirit says, “Today, if you hear His voice,
8 do not harden your heart, as at Meribah; as in the day of temptation in the wilderness,
9 when your fathers tempted Me, tested Me, and saw My work.
10 Forty years long I was grieved with that generation, and said, ‘They are a people who err in their heart, and they do not know My ways.’
11 So I swore in My wrath, that they should not enter into My rest.” 10
12 Take care, brethren, so that there will not be in any of you an evil heart of disbelief, falling away from the living Elohim.
13 But encourage one another daily, as long as it is still called “Today”, so that none of you will be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
14 For we have become partakers of Messiah, if we hold fast the beginning of our confidence firm until the end,
15 while it is said, “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart; as when your fathers tempted Me.” 11
16 For who was it, who having heard, tempted Him, except those who came out of Egypt led by Moses?
17 And with whom was He grieved for forty years? Was it not with those who sinned; whose bodies fell in the wilderness?
18 And to whom did He swear that they would not enter into His rest, but to those who did not believe?
19 So we see that they could not enter in, because of unbelief.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 4

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 4

Let us therefore be fearful, unless, while a promise remains of entering into His rest, any one of you should seem to have come short of it.
2 For unto us was the gospel preached, as well as unto them, but the word they heard did not profit them, because it was not mixed with faith in those who heard.
3 For we who have believed enter into that rest, as He said, “So I swore in My wrath, that they should not enter into My rest”, although the works were finished from the foundation of the world. 12
4 For He has said somewhere of the seventh day:  “And He rested on the seventh day from all His work that He had made.” 13
5 And again in this passage, “They should not enter into My rest.”
6 Seeing therefore it remains for some to enter it, and those to whom it was first preached entered not, because of unbelief;
7 He again determines a certain day, saying through David, “Today”, after so long a time, as it has been said, “Today if you hear His voice, do not harden your heart.” 14
8 For if Yehshua had given them rest, he would not have spoken of another day after that.
9 There remains therefore, a rest for the people of Elohim.
10 For the one who has entered His rest has ceased from his own work, as Elohim did from His.
11 Let us labor therefore to enter into that rest, so that no one will fall after the example of unbelief.
12 For the word of Elohim is living, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword; piercing even to the dividing of soul and spirit; and of the joints and marrow; and able to discern the thoughts and intentions of the heart.
13 And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of Him with Whom we have to do.
14 Seeing then that we have a great High Priest, Who has passed into the heavens, YEHOSHUA, the Son of Elohim, let us hold fast our profession.
15 For we do not have a high priest who cannot be touched with the feelings of our infirmities; but One Who was in all things tempted, as we are, yet without sin!
16 Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, so that we may receive mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 5

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 5

For every high priest taken from among men, is appointed on behalf of mankind in things pertaining to Elohim, that he may offer both gifts and sacrifices for sins.
2 And he can have compassion on the ignorant and the misguided, since he himself also is encompassed with infirmities.
3 And because of this, he ought, even as for the people, so also for himself, to offer sacrifices for sins.
4 And no man takes this honor to himself, but he who is called by Elohim, even as was Aaron.
5 So also Messiah did not glorify Himself, so as to become a high priest, but He Who said unto Him, “You are My Son, today I have begotten You”; 15
6 just as He says also in another place, “You are a priest forever, after the order of Melchizedek,” 16
7 Who in the days of His flesh, when He offered up prayers and supplications with mighty crying and tears unto Him Who was able to save Him from death, and was heard because of His piety;
8 although He was a Son, He learned obedience from the things which He suffered.
9 And having been perfected, He became the Author of eternal deliverance unto all those who obey Him;
10 being called by Elohim as a high priest after the order of Melchizedek.
11 Concerning Him we have much to say, and it is hard to describe, seeing as you are dull of hearing.
12 For though by this time you ought to be teachers, you have need that one teach you again that which are the first principles of the oracles of Elohim; and you have become such as have need of milk and not solid food.
13 For everyone who partakes only of milk is unskilled in the Word of righteousness; for they are babes.
14 But solid food is for those who are of full age; those who by reason of use have exercised their senses to discern both good and evil.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 6

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 6

Therefore, leaving the principles of the doctrine of the Messiah, let us press on to perfection, not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward Elohim;
2 of the doctrines of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of the resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.
3 And this we will do, if Elohim permits,
4 for it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted of the heavenly gift, and were partakers of the The Holy Spirit,
5 and have tasted the good word of Elohim, and the powers of the world to come,
6 if they fall away, to renew them again unto repentance, seeing as they crucify again unto themselves the Son of Elohim, and put Him to open shame.
7 For ground that drinks the rain which often falls upon it, and brings forth herbs useful to those for whose sake it is tilled, receives blessing from Elohim;
8 but that which yields thorns and thistles is rejected, and near to being cursed; whose end is to be burned.
9 But, beloved, we are persuaded of better things for you, and things that accompany salvation, even though we speak this way.
10 For Elohim is not unjust to forget your work, and the love which you have shown toward His Name, in having ministered to the saints, and still ministering.
11 And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence to the full assurance of hope until the end,
12 so that you will not be sluggish, but imitators of those who through faith and patience inherit the promises.
13 For when Elohim made the promise to Abraham, since He could swear by none greater, He swore by Himself,
14 saying, “I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your seed.” 17
15 And so, having patiently endured, he obtained the promise.
16 For humans swear by one greater than themselves, and with them an oath given as confirmation is an end of all strife.
17 In the same way Elohim, willing even more abundantly to show to the heirs of the promise the unchangeable nature of His purpose, confirmed it with an oath,
18 so that by two unchangeable things, in which it is impossible for Elohim to lie, we who have taken refuge, would have powerful encouragement in laying hold of the hope that is set before us.
19 And this hope that we have is as an anchor of the soul; a hope both sure and steadfast, and one which enters into that which is within the veil,
20 where YEHOSHUA has entered as the forerunner for us, having become a high priest forever, according to the order of Melchizedek.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 7

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 7

For this Melchizedek, king of Salem, priest of the Most High Elohim, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;
2 to whom also Abraham gave a tenth part of all, was first, by the interpretation of His Name, King of Righteousness, and after that also King of Salem, which is, King of Peace.
3 Without father, without mother, without genealogy, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like the Son of Elohim, remains a priest forever.
4 Now consider how great this Man was, to Whom the patriarch Abraham gave a tenth of the spoils.
5 And truly those who are the sons of Levi, who receive the office of the priesthood, have a commandment to take tithes from the people according to the Law, that is, from their brethren, although they come out of the loins of Abraham.
6 But He Whose genealogy is not counted by descent from them, received tithes from Abraham, and blessed him who had the promises.
7 And without any contradiction, the lesser is blessed by the greater.
8 And herein men who die receive tithes, but there He of Whom it is witnessed that He lives on.
9 And, as I may say, even Levi who receives tithes, paid tithes through Abraham,
10 for he was still in the loins of his father, when Melchizedek met him.
11 If therefore perfection was through the Levitical priesthood (for under it the people received the law), what further need was there for another priest to arise according to the order of Melchizedek, and not be called after the order of Aaron?
12 For when the priesthood is changed, of necessity there takes place a change of law also.
13 For He of Whom these things are spoken is of another tribe, from which no one has attended to the altar.
14 For it is evident that our Master sprang out of Yehudah, a tribe with which Moses spoke nothing concerning priests.
15 And it is yet far more evident, in that after the manner of Melchizedek there arises another priest,
16 who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.
17 For it is testified of Him, “You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek.” 16
18 For there is truly a putting away of the former commandment, because of its weakness and unprofitableness,
19 for the Law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope, through which we draw near unto Elohim.
20 And inasmuch as it was not without an oath
21 (for those priests were made without an oath, but He with an oath by the One Who said unto Him, “YEHOWAH has sworn and will not repent, ‘You are a priest forever after the order of Melchizedek’”);
22 by so much more also YEHOSHUA has become the surety of a better covenant.
23 And their truly have been many priests, because they were prevented by death from continuing,
24 but this Man, because He continues forever, has an unchangeable priesthood.
25 Therefore He is able also to save all who draw near unto Elohim through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
26 For such a high priest became for us, holy, free from guile, undefiled, separated from sinners, and made higher than the heavens;
27 Who needs not daily, like those high priests, to offer up sacrifices, first for His own sins, and then for the sins of the people; because this He did once for all, when He offered up Himself.
28 For the Law makes men as high priests who have infirmities, but the Word of the oath, which came after the law, appoints a Son, made perfect forevermore.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 8

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 8

Now the summary of the things which we have spoken is this:  We have such a High Priest Who is seated at the right hand of the throne of Majesty in the heavens;
2 a Minister in the sanctuary, and in the true tabernacle, which the Master pitched, not mankind.
3 For every high priest is appointed to offer gifts and sacrifices.  Of necessity therefore, this Man also must have something to offer.
4 Now if He were on earth, He would not be a priest, because there are priests who offer gifts according to the Law;
5 who serve as a shadow of the heavenly things, just as Moses was warned by Elohim when he was about to make the tabernacle, for “See,” He says, “That you make after the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain.” 18
6 But now He has obtained a more excellent ministry, by as much as He is also the mediator of a better covenant, which is established upon better promises.
7 For if that first covenant had been faultless, there would have been no place sought for the second.
8 For finding fault with them, He says, “‘Behold, days are coming,’ says YEHOWAH, ‘that I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel, and with the house of Yehudah.
9 Not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers in the day that I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt; My covenant which they broke, and I did not care for them,’ says YEHOWAH.
10 ‘But this will be the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,’ says YEHOWAH, ‘I will put My Law within them, and will write it in their hearts, and I will be their Elohim, and they will be My people.
11 And they will never again teach each person their neighbor, or each person their brethren, saying, “Know YEHOWAH,” for they will all know Me, from the least of them unto the greatest of them,
12 for I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more.’” 19
13 When He said, “A new covenant,” He has made the first obsolete.  And that which is old and obsolete is ready to disappear.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 9

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 9

Now even the first covenant had ordinances for divine service in the earthly sanctuary.
2 For there was a tabernacle prepared; the outer, wherein was the lampstand, and the table, and the showbread.  This is called the sanctuary.
3 And behind the second veil was the tabernacle, which is called the Holy of Holies,
4 which had the golden censer, and the Ark of the Covenant overlaid round about with gold, in which was the golden pot with manna, and Aaron’s rod that budded, and the tables of the covenant.
5 And over it were the cherubim of glory shadowing the mercy seat, of which we cannot now speak in detail.
6 Now when these things were thus prepared, the priests went continually into the outer tabernacle accomplishing the divine service,
7 but into the second went the high priest alone, once a year; not without blood, which he offers for himself and for the sins of the people.
8 The Holy Spirit is signifying this, that the way into the Holy of Holies was not yet shown, while the outer tabernacle was still standing,
9 which is a parable for the present time, in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make those that did the service perfect, as pertaining to conscience;
10 since they relate only to food and drink, and various washings, and carnal ordinances, imposed until the time of reformation.
11 But when Messiah came, being a High Priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this creation,
12 nor through the blood of goats and calves, but through His own blood He entered, once for all, into the Holy of Holies, having obtained eternal redemption.
13 For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of a heifer sprinkling the defiled, sanctifies unto the purifying of the flesh,
14 how much more will the blood of Messiah, Who through The Eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to Elohim, purify your conscience from dead works to serve the living Elohim?
15 And for this reason He is the mediator of the new covenant, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions committed under the first covenant, those who are called would receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.
16 For where a covenant exists, there must of necessity be the death of the testator,
17 for a covenant is enforced only after death, otherwise it is unenforceable while the testator lives.
18 Therefore even the first was not inaugurated without blood.
19 For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people, according to the Law, he took the blood of calves and of goats, with water, and scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book, and all the people,
20 saying, “This is the blood of the covenant, which Elohim commanded you.”
21 Likewise, he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all the vessels of the ministry.
22 And by the law, almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no deliverance.
23 It was therefore necessary that the patterns of things in the heavens be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
24 For Messiah has not entered into a Holy of Holies made with hands, which is a figure of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of Elohim for us;
25 nor yet that He should offer Himself often, as the high priest enters into the Holy of Holies every year with the blood of others.
26 For then must He often have suffered since the foundation of the world, but now, once for all, at the end of the ages, He has been manifested to put away sin by the sacrifice of Himself.
27 And as it is appointed unto humans to die once, and after this comes judgment,
28 so Messiah also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many.  And unto those who look for Him, He will appear a second time without sin unto deliverance.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 10

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 10

For the law, being a shadow of the good things to come, and not the very image of those things, can never with those sacrifices which they offered year by year continually, make perfect those who come near.
2 For then would they not have ceased to be offered, because the worshipers, having once been purged, would have had no more consciousness of sins?
3 But in those sacrifices there is a remembrance again of sins every year,
4 for it is impossible for the blood of bulls and goats to take away sins.
5 Therefore, when He comes into the world, He says, “Sacrifice and offering You have not desired; but a body You have prepared for Me;
6 burnt offering and sin offering You have not required.
7 Then I said, ‘Behold, I come; in the volume of the book written of Me; I delight to do Your will, O Elohim.’” 20
8 Above when He said, “Sacrifice and offering You have not desired; burnt offering and sin offering You have not required, nor do You take pleasure in them” (which are offered according to the law),
9 then He said, “Behold, I come to do Your will.”  He takes away the first, in order to establish the second,
10 by which will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach once for all.
11 And every priest stands daily ministering and offering time after time the same sacrifices, which can never take away sins,
12 but this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, “Sat down at the right hand of Elohim,”
13 waiting from that time onward until, “His enemies be made a footstool for His feet.”
14 For by one offering He has perfected for all time those who are sanctified.
15 And The Holy Spirit also testifies to us; for after that He said,
16 “‘This is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days,’ says YEHOWAH, ‘I will put My law within them, and will write it in their hearts,” He then says, 21
17 “I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sins no more.” 22
18 Now where there is remission of these things, there is no longer an offering for sin.
19 Having therefore brethren, boldness to enter into the Holy of Holies by the blood of YEHOSHUA;
20 by a new and living way, which He consecrated for us through the veil, that is His flesh,
21 and having a High Priest over the house of Elohim,
22 let us draw near with a truthful heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water.
23 Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.
24 And let us consider one another, to provoke unto love and good works;
25 not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting; and so much the more, as you see the day approaching.
26 For if we sin willfully after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there remains no more a sacrifice for sins,
27 but a certain terrible looking for judgment and fiery indignation, which will devour the adversaries.
28 Anyone who has cast off the law of Moses dies without mercy upon the testimony of two or three witnesses.
29 How much severer punishment do you suppose they will deserve, who have trampled under foot the Son of Elohim, and have counted as unclean the blood of the covenant by which they were sanctified, and have despised The Holy Spirit of grace?
30 For we know Him Who said, “Vengeance is Mine, and recompense.”  And again, “YEHOWAH will judge His people.” 23
31 It is a terrifying thing to fall into the hands of the living Elohim.
32 But call to remembrance the former days, when after being enlightened, you endured a great fight of afflictions.
33 Partly you were made a spectacle, both by reproaches and afflictions, and partly by becoming sharers with those who were so treated.
34 For you had compassion for me in my bonds, and took joyfully the seizure of your goods, knowing in yourselves that you have in heaven a better and enduring substance.
35 Therefore, do not cast away your confidence, which has a great recompense of reward.
36 For you have need of patience, so that when you have done the will of Elohim, you may receive the promise.
37 For yet in a little while, He that shall come will come, and will not delay.
38 “But the righteous shall live by faith, but if any shrink back, My Soul has no pleasure in them.”
39 But we are not of those who shrink back unto perdition; but of those who believe unto the saving of the soul.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 11

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 11

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.
2 For by it the elders obtained a good report.
3 By faith we understand that the worlds were prepared by the Word of Elohim, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which appear.
4 By faith Abel offered unto Elohim a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, through which he obtained the witness that he was righteous; Elohim testifying about his gifts; and through faith, although he is dead, he still speaks.
5 By faith Enoch was translated, so that he would not see death; and he was not found, because Elohim translated him, for he obtained the witness before his translation; that he was pleasing unto Elohim.
6 But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for those who come unto Elohim must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who seek Him.
7 By faith Noah, being warned by Elohim of things not yet seen, in reverence prepared an ark for the deliverance of his household, by which he condemned the world and became an heir of the righteousness which is by faith.
8 By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he was to receive for an inheritance, obeyed and he went out, not knowing where he was going.
9 By faith he sojourned in the land of promise, as in a strange country, dwelling in tents with Isaac and Jacob; heirs with him of the same promise.
10 For he looked for the city which has foundations, whose founder and maker is Elohim.
11 By faith also Sarah herself received strength to conceive seed, and was delivered of a child even when she was past age, because she judged Him faithful Who had promised.
12 Therefore there was born even of one man, and him as good as dead, as many seed as the stars of heaven in number, and innumerable as the sand which is by the seashore.
13 All these died in faith, not having received the promises, but having seen them far off, and being persuaded of them, embraced them, and confessed that they were foreigners and strangers on the earth.
14 For those who say such declare plainly that they seek a country.
15 And truly, if they had been thinking of that country from which they went out, they would have had opportunity to return.
16 But now they desire a better country, that is, a heavenly one.  Therefore Elohim is not ashamed to be called their Elohim, for He has prepared a city for them.
17 By faith Abraham, when he was tried, offered up Isaac, and he who had received the promise was offering up his only begotten son,
18 of whom it was said, “Through Isaac your seed shall be named”, 24
19 concluding that Elohim was able to raise up, even from the dead, from which he also received him as a parable.
20 By faith Isaac blessed Jacob and Esau concerning things to come.
21 By faith Jacob, as he was dying, blessed each of the sons of Yehseph, and worshiped, leaning upon the top of his staff.
22 By faith Yehseph, when he was dying, made mention of the departing of the children of Israel, and gave commandment concerning his bones.
23 By faith Moses, when he was born, was hidden for three months by his parents, because they saw he was a beautiful child; and they were not afraid of the king’s commandment.
24 By faith Moses, when he had come of age, refused to be called the son of Pharaoh’s daughter,
25 choosing instead to suffer affliction with the people of Elohim, than to enjoy the temporary pleasures of sin;
26 considering the reproach of Messiah greater riches than the treasures of Egypt, for he had respect unto the recompense of the reward.
27 By faith he left Egypt, not fearing the wrath of the king, for he endured, as seeing Him Who is unseen.
28 By faith he kept the Passover, and the sprinkling of the blood, so that he who destroyed the firstborn would not touch them.
29 By faith they passed through the Red Sea, as though by dry land, which the Egyptians, when they tried, were drowned.
30 By faith the walls of Jericho fell down, after they had been encompassed for seven days.
31 By faith Rahab the harlot perished not with those who believed not, when she had received the spies in peace.
32 And what more shall I say? For time will fail me if I tell of Gideon, and Barak, and Samson, and Jephthah; of David, and Samuel, and the prophets,
33 who by faith subdued kingdoms, worked acts of righteousness, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions,
34 quenched the power of fire, escaped the edge of the sword; out of weakness were made strong, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.
35 Women received back their dead raised to life again, and others were tortured, not accepting their deliverance, that they might obtain a better resurrection;
36 and others experienced mockings and scourgings, yes, also chains and imprisonment.
37 They were stoned, they were sawn in two, they were tempted, they were slain with the sword; they went about in sheepskins and goatskins, being destitute, afflicted, tormented
38 (of whom the world was not worthy).  They wandered in deserts, and mountains, and dens, and caves of the earth.
39 And these all, having obtained a good report through faith, received not the promise,
40 because Elohim, having provided something better for us, so that they, without us, should not be made perfect.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 12

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 12

Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses encompassing us, let us also lay aside every hindrance, and the sin which so easily thwarts us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,
2 looking unto YEHOSHUA, the author and finisher of faith, Who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of Elohim.
3 For consider Him Who has endured such disobedience by sinners against Himself, so that you will not grow weary and be faint-hearted.
4 You have not yet resisted unto the shedding of blood, striving against sin;
5 and you have forgotten the exhortation which speaks unto you as if unto children, “My child, despise not the discipline of YEHOWAH, or loathe His reproof,
6 for whom YEHOWAH loves He reproves, even as a father corrects the child in whom he delights.” 25
7 If you endure discipline, Elohim deals with you as with children, for what child is there whom the father does not discipline?
8 But if you are without discipline, of which all are partakers, then you are bastards, and not children.
9 Furthermore, we have had fathers of our flesh who corrected us, and we gave them respect.  Shall we not much rather be subject to the Father of spirits, and live?
10 For they truly disciplined us for a short time, as seemed best to them, but He disciplines us for our profit, so that we might be partakers of His Holiness.
11 No discipline for the moment seems joyous, but grievous.  Nevertheless, afterward it yields the peaceful fruit of righteousness unto those trained by it.
12 Therefore, strengthen the hands that are weak, and the knees that are feeble,
13 and make straight paths for your feet, so that the limb which is lame may not be turned away, but rather be healed.
14 Pursue peace with all, and holiness, without which no one will see the Master;
15 looking diligently, so that no one comes short of the grace of Elohim; that no root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and many be defiled by it;
16 that there be no fornicator or profane person, like Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright.
17 For you know even afterward, when he desired to inherit the blessing, he was rejected, for he found no place for repentance, though he sought for it diligently with tears.
18 For you have not come unto the mountain that cannot be touched, and which burned with fire; and to gloom, and darkness, and tempest;
19 and to the blast of a trumpet, and the sound of a voice, which if they heard begged that no further word be spoken to them.
20 For they could not endure the command, “Whoever touches the mountain shall surely be put to death.” 26
21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, “I was afraid of the anger and hot displeasure.” 27
22 But you have come unto Mount Zion, and to the city of the living Elohim; the heavenly Jerusalem, and unto myriads of angels;
23 to the general assembly and church of the firstborn, who are enrolled in heaven, and to Elohim, the Judge of all, and to the spirits of the righteous made perfect;
24 and to YEHOSHUA, the mediator of the new covenant; and to the sprinkled blood, which speaks better things than the blood of Abel.
25 See that you do not refuse Him Who is speaking.  For if those did not escape when they refused him who admonished them on earth, much less will we escape, if we turn away from Him Who warns from heaven;
26 Whose voice shook the earth then, but now He has promised, saying, “Yet once, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth.” 28
27 And this, “Yet once,” signifies the removing of those things which can be shaken, as of things that are made, so that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.
28 Therefore, since we receive a kingdom which cannot be shaken, let us have grace, by which we may serve Elohim acceptably with reverence and piety;
29 for our Elohim is a consuming fire.

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 13

HEBREWS:  CHAPTER 13

Let brotherly love continue.
2 Be not forgetful to entertain strangers, for by this some have entertained angels unaware.
3 Remember those in bonds, as though imprisoned with them, and those who suffer adversity, since you yourselves also are in the body.
4 Marriage is to be honored by all, and the bed is to be undefiled.  But fornicators and adulterers Elohim will judge.
5 Let your manner be without covetousness; content with what you have, for He Himself has said, “I will never desert you, nor will I ever forsake you”,
6 so that we can boldly say, “YEHOWAH is for me; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” 29
7 Remember those who have rule over you, who have spoken unto you the word of Elohim; whose faith follow, considering the result of their behavior.
8 YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach is the same yesterday, and today, and forever.
9 Be not carried away by diverse and strange doctrines, for it is a good thing that the heart be strengthened with grace not with food, through which those who have walked in them have not profited by them.
10 We have an altar from which they have no right to eat who serve the tabernacle,
11 for the bodies of those beasts, whose blood is brought into the Holy of Holies by the high priest for sin, are burned outside the camp.
12 Therefore YEHOSHUA also, that He might sanctify the people with His own blood, suffered outside the gate.
13 Let us go forth therefore unto Him outside the camp, bearing His reproach,
14 for here we have no lasting city, but we seek the city which is to come.
15 Through Him then, let us offer the sacrifice of praise unto Elohim continually, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks unto His Name.
16 Do not forget to do good, and to share, for with such sacrifices Elohim is pleased.
17 Obey those who have rule over you, and submit yourselves, for they watch over your souls, as those who must give an account; so that they may do it with joy, and not with grief, for that is unprofitable for you.
18 Pray for us, for we trust that we have a good conscience in all things, willing to live honestly;
19 but I urge to do this, so that I may be restored to you sooner.
20 Now the Elohim of peace, Who brought up from the dead our Master YEHOSHUA, that Great Shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant,
21 make you perfect in every good work to do His will, working in you that which is pleasing in His sight, through YEHOSHUA ha Mashiach, to Whom be the glory forever and ever.  Amen!
22 But I urge you, brethren, endure this word of exhortation, for it is but in a few words that I have written to you.
23 Know that our brother Timothy is set at liberty, with whom, if he comes soon, I will see you.
24 Greet all of those who have rule over you, and all the saints.  Those from Italy greet you.
25 Grace be with you all.  Amen!
